Diy Pearl Hair Accessories

Hi Everyone!

Today’s DIY are three super pretty Pearl Hair Accessories. We’re making a sweet pearl headband, a lovely barrette and a pearl bobby pin. These elegant and beautiful hair jewelry pieces are a great and easy way to add a bit of glam to your look.

I love lustrous materials in fall and winter, where the soft light reflects back so beautifully. But these deep sea treasures would also look amazing in the summertime and so sweet in spring. Pearls really are a year-round gem.

I prefer to use the faux pearls you find pre-strung in the party section of Target for my crafting. They are budget friendly and the stretchy string lends itself well to a variety of different crafting techniques.

For today’s tutorial, I opted to leave the pearl beads strung and used the string to guide the beads down in a straight, flat line. This made gluing the gems to the headband, barrette and bobby pin so much easier.

It’s a quick DIY but so much fun to wear and I hope you guys enjoyed this craft!

Thanks for watching!

Hey guys welcome back it's shelby and today i want to make some fabulous pearl accessories for your hair, so you don't need many items for this and most of which you probably have at home or can get them from a quick trip to target. First off. You need a headband that you're willing to sacrifice mine is nice and flat and that's actually easier for this craft, but any of them will work um or a barrette, i'm doing three different times today. So this is just one of my breaths that i use or some bobby pins, i'm just gon na be doing one uh just to show you guys how but uh you can use like five or six of them and they turn out great and then you're gon Na need either beads or these, which are just fake pearl necklaces. They come in like a five pack from target in the kids section, just like the pretty princess, necklaces and they're, like five dollars for the whole pack, so they're super handy, they're, stretchy and they're. Pretty strong, so it's perfect you're, also gon na need some hot glue. So super super easy craft honestly, but, like i don't know, i'm really feeling pearl accessories lately and i wanted to make some so grab your hot glue. We are going to start with the headband, because it's easier once you clip these things, the beads go everywhere and i've learned that the hard way over and over and over again. Because i don't learn my lesson, so i'm gon na start with the headband, because i can string the majority of them on here and then use the rest for the barrette and the bobby pin and i think that's gon na be easier because they're all gon na Be pretty much aligned, so basically, what you want to do is find the end of the necklace on this one. You can really see the end like there's some strings hanging off and super super noticeable, and i don't want that. I don't want that on my headband. So this one looks pretty good. Actually it doesn't really look like it has an ending which is fabulous. So we will use this one and i'm going to start by putting a big dollop of hot glue, basically just about a quarter of the way up. The uh headband, because this is where i want my pearls to start, and they immediately ran out of hot glue, because i didn't put enough in there there we go and i'm just gon na put a bead of hot glue just running up it. This is gon na, be a super super easy craft but, like i think, really pretty and that's something i wanted to make. So i'm sharing it with you, guys, pull the ends off and then i'm just going to start by picking out a bead kind of getting some string on it or some string in between that and the next one i'm putting it down. And then i'm just going to leave them strung and just put them down on the hot glue like that. You could do as many strands as you want. You could do like three or four in a row. If you want a really thick headband, i was looking at that in the mirror like if i just want one strand or two or three, and i don't know the two or three strands just seemed a little thick for me right now. So i'm just sticking with one, but if you want to just make a thick band of hot glue and just put two necklaces side by side as you put them down, and it will work just as well so once this seems pretty dry we're going to release It you can see it's just a little line of pearls, which is perfect and we're going to keep going and we're just going to put a nice thick bead of hot glue on our headband. Just like that, and then without stretching the pearls on their string. We'Re just going to make sure that they all sit nicely and straightly into a nice little row of pearls and that they sit straight down into the glue and that they don't try to go anywhere or skip anything so that none of our pearls have a reason To jump off once i cut the string because right now, they're staying in a column and they're staying nicely in line because that necklace string is holding them there as soon as i cut that it's a free-for-all, so you need to make sure every single bead is Sat down in the hot glue, because otherwise it's not going to work as soon as you cut your necklace string. Now, almost done, i want to go about the same distance. I went on the other side, so i'm going to go to about a little bit further. Probably about right here, i think that looks good. That'S the part that is down in your hair near your ears. So if it's not exactly perfect, it doesn't really matter, but you know close counts. You do need it to be close. That doesn't need to be exact. So there we go, i actually missed one. I need to go one more bead, one more bead down, i think, would be perfect, so we're gon na do that we're gon na let that dry and, in the meantime, we're just gon na pull off all the little wispies. That hot glue always leaves, and now we're gon na do the part where the beads are gon na go everywhere, we're going to clip them. We haven't really stretched them, so hopefully it should be okay, but i'm gon na stretch it out and all of these beads should. Theoretically, if we did, it correctly stay on the headband, so i'm just going to hold on the other side of the string and hold on to these, and then i bring them over here. Do the same thing stretch it out hold on to that string and clip, and it should do one of two things: it should either shoot inside which mine did and it's just in there somewhere or it should. Let you just pull the whole thing out. Mine had some resistance, which means a bead is probably twisted somewhere around there uh, but the cord is now no longer visible, but i do have a super cute headband, so i've been trying to hold on to these. While i put these on, is this dry? I think it's dry. Oh you see that i missed one all right, so we are going to pull the strings and clip them and then we're going to get a nice little bead of hot glue there. I don't know what happened there. Everything else fit we're gon na get it lined up. I don't want the holes facing forward to make sure the holes aren't facing forward and they're just lined up, as they were we'll push that in and that'll be good we're gon na. Let this dry for a second and then we're gon na put it on, because it's super cute and i've been thinking about a pearl headband for like four days now. Okay, so while the headband is drying, i'm just gon na do the barrette, because as soon as i let go of these threads, the pearls are going everywhere. So i wan na do as many of them as i can. So. This is a normal barrette that just kind of opens opens like that, and then it closes like that and i'm gon na leave it open to work with just so. I have something to hold on to and put my finger on so same thing. We did with the headband we're just gon na run a bead of hot glue down the middle and hope we don't oh burn ourselves like we just did here. We go nice, bead of hot, very hot glue and we're going to start with the end. That'S got the thread sticking out of it and just try to put it in nice and straight without burning ourselves, oh without doing that, whatever whatever these are on in a line, they're good we're just going to get these we're going to get these glued down. We'Re going to work with this they're trying to slide around because the glue's not dry, and i'm not going to let them, because i already lost too many they're all over my floor, i'm going to have to clean them up sad day very sad day. All right. There we go, these are drying, and that is so cute. That'S exactly what i envisioned look at, that that is adorable, so cute all right to cheer myself up and to make sure it was worth it. I'M gon na put my headband on now before i clean my pearls up. That is so cute that is so cute, so headbands on i'm gon na clean up the pearls and come back when they are clean, and then we can go on to the bobby pin. Okay, so i have cleaned the pearls up and this headband is seriously so cute, like i can't get over it. I went looked in the mirror adorable. I love it and anyway back to the craft, despite being burned by this thread, i'm going to use it again. So i'm going to string the pearls onto the thread because it really is just the easiest way to do it. So i'm going to do that, so i'm just putting on as many as i think i'm going to need. I do have a lot more thread to hold them, which is nice, so i actually might just tie a little knot to make my life easier, not break my heart. If they go flying again, we go success, so we have a nice long thread of this perfect. So i am going to hold the very end of the bobby pin, so i don't burn myself and we'll go up to my fingers, but not quite there, nice long line of hot glue and we're just gon na lay these nice and flat. So i'm gon na start with the first one on the end and just put them one after another and line them up, i'm not putting the final one down. It turns out that i don't need it, so i'm just going to put the first six of them on there. This is like a little medium size bobby pin. It looks like six is about the max you can put on there. Maybe seven i might be able to squeeze seven on there. I'M gon na try that we're gon na get the first six on there first and let the glue dry and make sure that i'm not gluing the bobby, pin, shut and make sure they're all nice and straight before i attempt the seventh there we go. They look good, they look good, but there is some room, so i'm just going to pop a dollop of hot glue right on the end. There bring this one down the line to it and just glue it right on there and then you can cut the cord. Just pull it right out like that super easy way of doing it, so you don't have to line them all up by hand and hold them all by hand, and hopefully it stops you from burning yourself, because i did burn myself on this craft, but that was My own fault preparations were in place. I just managed to do it wrong, but uh. Let'S put these in my hair and see what they look like. So i've been in the headband for probably half the video, so you've already seen it, but it's super cute and i think it's probably going to be my favorite one. The headband is what i was thinking of when i decided i wanted to make this craft i'll. Do close-ups at the end, it's just so cute and like fun and girly, and it lifts my spirits up right now. So i'm very excited about this, and then we have our lovely barrette, which is this one right here and it's also super cute. So this is something i would probably put my hair up half up half down in for, but just for the sake of the video i'm just gon na clip it in here. So you could put your hair half a puff down. You could usually do like a comb if you're gon na do this, but i'm just gon na use a barrette and it still just works like normal. There we go. That looks pretty good. I know is that on camera i hope so. So it's just like cute and fun we're going to take that one out and put in our lovely bobby pin, which is going to be really similar to the barrette and this one. You could probably also make crisscrosses of and put your hair up, but uh this. You can just do something like that, just to kind of hold it back a little bit and just something kind of cute and fun and easy to make and uh yeah. I hope you guys, like the craft i enjoyed making it for you thanks so much for joining me and i'll, see you here again soon bye. For now you
