Achieving a perfectly curled-up bun, but still having it look messy feels like it can only be achieved by pros—that is until we stumbled across this messy bun hack. There's a new technique going viral on TikTok, which supposedly guarantees the perfectly placed, just-messy-enough topknot every single time.
We've tried it ourselves, and we can confirm it works. However, you will need a very stretchy hair tie to allow for all that wrist movement. Impressively, this whole messy bun hair hack takes mere seconds.
Once you've mastered the move, finish it off by tucking in any loose ends and pulling out sections at the front if you're going for a messier finish.

The hack demonstrates how a simple flick of the wrist is. All that's needed to secure that perfect top knot impressively the whole hair hack takes mere seconds. This is how to do a messy bun for dummies. Pour your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head slip, a hair tie onto the ponytail using the hand, that's not holding the ponytail twist the hair tie and grab the mid section of the ponytail. The hair should make a u-shape flip and twist the end of the ponytail until it shapes into a donut on the top of your head, then secure it with the hair tie, pull the ends of your hair to the back of your head et voila, the perfect Messy bun now getting mad at your hair is a whole different level of anger.
