Hey guys welcome back to my channel, I feel like I owe you guys an explanation about what the heck I've been doing with my hair. I just kind of popped back up, didn't really do any, explaining of all the figures my hair has gone through and how many times I've dyed my hair and how I dyed my hair and how I ended up with this, which I love by the way. So I feel like it's time for a hair update, so that's what you guys are gon na get today. I feel like one thing. I also need to say is that my hair is in some need of some shaping. Am I gon na shape it? I don't really know I don't have any immediate plans to do so. I'M kind of scared that if I go get it shaped, it'll look really crazy when it's straight and right now I know it looks good when it's straight - and I know I don't straighten it that often, but I still want the option to have it straightened and It still look good, there's my dilemma and it doesn't look bad. The shape is gone like if I could lift this up a little bit. It would create more like framing around my face like this. For example, it's just hanging if that makes sense like it's just hanging and when my hair was shorter, it didn't do that, but as it grew and it got heavier, it started to lay a little differently. So I don't know if I'm gon na do anything about it. Also, these bangs listen. These Banks are growing out. That'S why I have to push it like all the way to the side. So could I benefit from some shaping yes, so we just got that elephant out the room but, like I said, I'm really not in a rush to do it. I still think it looks great, even if it needs to be shaved, but another thing I'll get at is like this blonde piece here. I love the blonde piece, but it goes into my layers if that makes sense so like this right here is the equivalent of this right here, and this is a different layer than this. I don't know if I'm making any sense, but basically it's cutting like right here. I don't mind it too much, but if it was layered, I think it would frame my face a lot better because it just looks like this part is like hanging a little bit and if I could just lift it all up, I don't know if I'm making Any sense, anyway, back to the hair, update, basically telling you how I even got to this point, because the last time you guys saw me my hair was orange and it's still orange. But it's been dyed a couple times. So I'm gon na pop up like videos and photos. I know you guys remember the orange that's when I first got my hair, that gingery kind of orange color and then I got it straightened and that's what I basically said: I'm living life, how I want to and F it so I did it then, after that I went back curly and then I guess the next update is this video right here. It might be like girl. When did you dye your hair, that color I didn't my hair color faded, it faded the orange faded and that's like the under color of my hair. Without any like real dye on it, my Ginger, the under color of my hair, was dyed blonde, so the ginger would take so when the ginger rinsed out over time. This took like several months when it rinsed out over time, and I wasn't re-dyeing it. It just turned this kind of like yellow e color. I wasn't feeling it too much, but I decided to wait to go to the salon. So that's what I did I went and I got my hair professionally done. I got it straightened and colored and that's when I first came up with the money piece y'all claim to fame that idea that I had with the money piece claim to fame. Let me tell you what so I got my hair dyed again this time it was kind of I want to say, like a little bit more Ginger than orange than I originally had the first time I dyed it. They used different dyes or whatever, and then I was like. I want a piece to stand out now. This is my first time getting a money piece or skunk stripe, but I was super excited about it, but I wanted to try it and I didn't want it to be too big so like when you see it over here and it's just like the small section. That'S a different color than the rest of my hair. I want to try it out, see if I liked it and then I really liked it. I really liked it so before it was like an orange and like this really like faded rose gold right, and I got my hair straight into that and then I started wearing it curly when the straighten phase was over and then I said, okay, I'm not done. I'M not done yet so after straightening, my hair and y'all can like see the length and everything in it. I was like yes, yes, yes, because at that point I hadn't been straightening my hair, that much um well never mind. Actually, this year I shared my hair. More than I usually do in the past year, I've straightened my hair more than I usually do. But when I took my curls back, I was so happy that the curls came back because I did go to a stylist and I get a little nervous. But the curls came back just like they were before, except with dye and color and looking amazing. But then, like over time, the money piece which was like this rose-ish gold, it faded and it faded to blonde, and it gave me another idea. It gave me another idea. I was like this blonde, in contrast with this gingery, whatever color looks really good and I feel like it complements my skin tone, so I'm a rock with it. So then I have that small little money, piece or skunk Stripe Right, just small and I was like, let's make it bigger I've tested it out. I see that I like it. I see that it looks good, let's widen it, let's make it bigger. Let'S make it a whole quarter of my head now that sounds so dramatic and it kind of really is, but that was it. I'M like I'm gon na, try it on a small piece and then I'm gon na try a whole quarter of my head and that's exactly what I did so it faded. It showed me that it would look cute if I made it bigger because it was already cute when it was smaller. So when I went back to the stylist, I asked to get a blonde bigger like wide in the money piece with the blonde and then um keep this orange, and now the colors didn't exactly do what I wanted them to do. This color starts to look more red and I really want to keep orange I've done red before it really want to keep orange. The color turned red on my hair, and I just wasn't really feeling that and the money piece he accidentally dyed it. The wrong color and he dyed it, the original color that it was, which was rose gold I felt like the rose gold was too close to the red. It didn't give money peace because it looked like it was a shade off. If that makes sense like it didn't, look like it was done on purpose, and if you just look at a picture of something you might not really even be able to tell, and I wanted something that as soon as I walk in the room, it's like her Hair is two different colors immediately. Her hair is two different colors. So so, after that I was like okay, I'm not really satisfied with this, and then I ended up getting a campaign. That was the other thing. I got um a campaign and it was for blonde products and my hair was supposed to be blonde which, by the way, was not the reason that I dyed my hair blonde. In the first place, I was already going for a bigger money piece, and so the sponsorship just ended up complimenting what I was gon na do anyway, and it was actually to tone my hair and it tone. The crap out of my hair did such a good job. It'S on like Instagram and Tick Tock. It was a partnership, but we did - and let me tell you it's on the crap like this was so brassy. So what I did is I ended up. Removing the color that rose gold, because I wasn't really feeling it didn't feel like it complimented, so I removed it. You might be like how did you remove it? I bought two boxes or three boxes or something like that. I used Color Oops. This is my tried and true like if you get a color and you don't like it, Color Oops nine times out of ten can remove. What'S, on top of your hair, to reveal your base color and I knew my base color was blonde. Now did it turn out brassy when I took out the color, absolutely it did. As you can see, it was brassy, it was brassy, it was giving a lot of yellow undertones, and I didn't really like that, but I'm glad that the blonde was even everything else. Was red I shampooed my hair like three times to get it to fade to a nice orange. It was too red. It wasn't giving what I wanted it. So I shampoo my hair like three times at once. Okay, I did deep condition after, but I shampooed my hair like three times at once, went crazy on. It went crazy on it hair faded to like the color that you see now. So I'm like okay bet, I'm making things work. This was like really a DIY. Like close to home project for me, I'm, like I'm gon na, get my hair to look like my vision got this blonde piece. I toned it and now it looks the way that it does. I had to let you guys know what actually happened, or else I would just be popping up like nothing happened. So I wanted to explain what I was using in my hair before when I got my hair colored was, I did my permanent hair color. Do my permanent, so it lasts longer than semi-permanent, is basically that and it doesn't damage your hair. But in order to get that color I did need to have a base of a lighter color and when I say base I mean like this is technically my base. Color under this color, my whole head is really blonde, but I put orange over or Ginger whatever you want to call it over the blonde in certain areas and not this area. I hope I did a good job of explaining that I don't know if I did a good job honestly, I'm trying to get y'all up today. I shouldn't have been gone for this long. That'S on me, that's on me so anyway, when I tone my hair and everything like that. Like I love, I love what I got going on right now like this is so me and I get bored with my hair. I think a lot of people get bored with their hair. When I get bored with my hair, I dye it. I know when other people get bored with their hair, they cut it and honestly, I've been getting a lot of comments. People commented under my videos, like all your hair is gon na fall out, naturally praying on my downfall, like not you praying on my downfall and then also, I feel like. I also need to do an update, so I've been gone for, like three months before I started like getting back on YouTube right foreign. So I guess people are confused about the timeline of how long it's been since I've done this to my hair. But I've had some type of blonde piece in my hair for like two months now, hair's still here, we move right hairs still look great feels amazing. Let me swivel feels great looks great. It'S still very full. I'M also going to show you guys what my hair looks like like blown out. I want to show you guys, like different states, blown out, it's still thick, it's still full. It'S still giving people also asked if my hair is like drier or like how is my hair dealing with the fact that I've been dying, the crap out of it it's doing good, but I will say the blonde section that I have tends to be more dry, But that's okay! As long as you take care of it, you got to take care of your color treated hair. Oh, that rhyme put it on a shirt. Put it on a t-shirt. Realizes that I have a t-shirt line. Might do that thoughts, thoughts, okay, thinking to myself and also all out but um. It is a little more dry. So I just take the extra time like first off protein treatments. Protein treatments are your friend deep conditioning is your friend period And I make sure to um also tone, my hair. That'S the thing it's blonde. I don't have to tone the rest of my hair, but I do have to sew in this one section. So I hope that, like kind of answers your question people have been asking me how I keep my hair healthy and all that, if you guys want me to do a separate video on like blonde hair tips and like keeping your hair healthy while curly, I can Definitely do that, but I did just want to bring you guys up to speed with all the things that have happened to my hair. Someone did ask me if I cut my hair. The answer is, I only cut my hair to trim my ends and whatever they be telling me, I need to trim I'd, be letting them cut it off. So maybe they trim like two inches. I don't freaking know it's still big. It'S still long. I mean, I guess in my hair updates, I do usually show y'all how long it is huh. I don't know if I did a good job I'll show you guys, but this is how long it is there. You have it. This is how long my hair is from the back with my hair straight so yeah I feel like my hair is in really good condition which I'm so happy about, because I'd be lying. If I told you that I wasn't a little nervous about this whole situation, but I think it came out amazing, even better than I hope for, because I've been straightening. My hair I've been coloring, my hair, but my hair has still been holding me down and I attribute that to the fact that, yes, my hair is bleached like all of it is under this, but other than that I just color over it. I don't keep bleaching. My hair I'll bleach, my roots, which is my Virgin Hair, which y'all can see, is growing out. So if you guys want to know about how long my hair has been dyed this way - and it's still healthy, I'm very happy with those results. I hope I answer all you guys questions about. What'S going on with my hair since I've been gone, and I hope you all enjoyed this video comment down below like videos, you guys would like to see from me whether that's hair videos or lifestyle videos. I am transitioning more to like lifestyle. Y'All are gon na, get more lifestyle than hair, to be honest with you shamelessly, but they'll still be hair, sprinkled here and there, but, like. Let me know what you guys like to see from me and um I'll talk to y'all in the next video, and I promise it won't be three months again, this time, all right, all right,

Kimberly Jackson: The OG subscribers know Jaelen not new to this….she true to this! You’re the only person I know that can keep your hair healthy while dyeing it

Nancy Theressa: I love that you’re having so much fun with your natural hair.

Lauren fisher: The fact that you kept your healthy all these years while still dyeing and bleaching it , it amazes me all the time, but your hair looks amazing ❤ Update when you touch up your roots and a updated wash day video please ❤

Dontesia Stewart: I believe you being a avid wash n go'er contributes to ur hair staying healthy thru the coloring journey. Ur hair gets to constantly get moisture and tlc it needs. Cuz with color you definitely can't be lazy and go weeks with conditioning and moisturizing.

miniminott48: Jaelen, you have been taking good care of your hair for years so I expect you to continue to take good care of your bleached hair! Your hair is beautiful and the colors compliment your complexion.

Suthern Belle: Your hair looks great! Definitely hair goals!

blizzlenizzle: You should go full blonde with chocolate brown roots sis!! You can pull it off and it would look amazing with your skin tone! ✨✨

S Shaw: Definitely would like to see how you maintain hour color treated hair but I’m loving this hair color on you!!

Arianna Hawkins: YAAASSS, on the tips on how to keep your hair healthy while color treated. I plan on coloring my hair again, when it gets close to butt length. I had to do a big chop, because of a bad color job that I got for graduation, but seeing all my friends color their hair, is making me want colormy hair/cry, but I am making sure I do extra extra homework on keeping it healthy, because I plan on getting a half and half rainbow once it grows out. Go big or go home type of girl when it comes to color and my hair

michabooksandcaps: I would love to see an updated hair regimen. I’m trying to get back to consistency with taking care of my hair.

Chloe Yorke: The last time I grew my hair past bra strap length and I had lots of fun with color and I am 100% sure that once I get jt to a certain length I’m gonna color it all over again. It’s a myth that you can’t have healthy color treated hair, you just can’t be lazy when it comes to maintaining it and understanding what your hair needs.

moNATUREnique: I freaking love that you experiment with your hair and with color. I’m a color punk and even more so now that I have locs, but love see all the ways you colors yours because you can tell that’s it’s a true expression of who you are. I want to see all the vids girl!

1GoldenBreeze: It's fun watching you enjoy your hair through color expression. You should be able to enjoy your hair your way without backlash. I have a natural Mallen Streak, and it took me a while to appreciate it. Now I love it, and it is very creative that people are now coloring one into their hair.

Anjelyca: I remember how long you stayed away from bleach and I’m happy you’re being more comfortable experimenting with your hair

Curliee Loks: YES you did well explaining the process ;Yes it looks awesome and yes! We get bored with our hair too lol ! Awesome work ! My hair is red ginger too because my Sytlist did not listen to me. I will also take your advice and wash till I get orange You should try a Ouidad cut in nyc if you ever don’t mind to cut your hair to a new style . Can you provide tips when color is growing out and how to maintain it or make it look cute grown out ?

Anasha Saul: It's so good to see how healthy natural hair can be when it is properly moisturized and taken care of. Healthy hair can be achieved by having a simple routine and I noticed that with my hair too. So many people think you have to do extra things in a hair care routine and that's where many of us failed especially with misinformation on social media.

Virgoat Cappy: Don't do a thing for now. Your hair is bomb as usual

Emeralddd: Please do a healthy hair care routine with color treated hair. I would love to color my hair but keep healthy at the same time. I literally have never seen anyone with color and health like your hair, your curls still look the exact same!

Starseed: I bleached my hair and it didn’t necessarily damage my hair to the point of breaking but the texture felt different and the curl pattern was slightly different just like hers here. It’s dry and feels brittle. I didn’t know about olapex and all the things you were supposed to do after bleaching but nonetheless im growing my color out now. But I called it I knew when she showed up with this bleached color I knew it was damaged.

IndiaPrincesa: I use to dye my hair EVERY summer like rainbow colors and I still have LONG CURLY HAIR. People are use to doing home dyes and other people hair falling out. So when they see someone who still has long hair and dying it they ASSUME it’s goin to fall out! STOP IT I hate when a badly or a hater has an opinion on someone’s else’s HAIR I love that you keep experimenting with your color hair ❤

Miguel Aquino: Looove the hair !! Looks so good and healthy ! Do a olaplex treatment!!

Ashkenia Sims: Your hair looks amazing!!!!

Queen's World: Omg your hair is so beautiful. I love this on you.

Lisette Brown: If you feel like the bleach had a negative effect on your hair you should try the Olaplex system. Olaplex is a professional hair system used to rebuild the bonds within your hair. You can but it at most salons, ask your hairstylist/colorist. You can also buy it online via Amazon or a professional beauty supply warehouse store.

LiV’n Life: I love this color on you. This is a great look for you.

Evette Walker: Hair "Always" looks Good! Can we take a minute to talk about Your Glowing Skin!!! ReignGang

Truly Kailah: Every time i watch you hair color videos I’m tempted to dye my hair. Hair dye is so foreign to me that i always back out and stick to my natural black color. Ughhh i wish i was brave enough to dye my hair

CShemica: Girl your hair looks awesome!

Simply_Charlette: I love you talking like this to camera! Brings it back to the days you did all your styling videos ❤

Kitty dollsXo: it lookin a Lil fry and dry since your past videos but it's nothing to cry home about! it still looks beautiful.

Khulania Frost: Your hair is so beautiful Please be careful ⛔️ I feel like this is the stage of plastic surgery when things are perfect but that next surgery disfigures you I know it's hair (and grows back) and yours (not mine). It's just so beautiful. Be careful.

Naturally new to the game 😉: Love your hair as always ❤

Naomi G: Please do an updated hair care routine. I’ll be dying my hair soon and would love to know what products you use to maintain healthy hair!

LaMesha Hale: You are absolutely ADORABLE! I call you my niece lol. You, your hair & your love life are THRIVING ❤❤️❤️

Meg D.: Don’t do anything now. Let it rock. It’s taken me a few years to get back to where you’re at right now. I regret shaping it when I was at your length

Katrina Aaron: Both. We wanna see both. And thanks for that cause I be sooo scared to color my hair alot but I still do. Just thought I was crazy. Thnx for letting me know I'm not the only one. I just do it.

Mélody PHIPPS: I would love to see you try the boho braids on your natural hair ❤ i think it would look dope with your hair color ⚡

I_am_queen_cyndi Clark: Your hair is beautiful! ❤

- alexia marie: as long as you keep the integrity of your hair, it will stay healthy

Denysha Dials: Very hard to have length and shape. My current dilemma as well. And I think I need to incorporate picking again…we’ll see. Because I’m tired of wearing my hair twisted. Giving myself a nice trim with fresh layers and we’ll see what happens.

L. Lewis: It still looks GORGEOUS!!!

CurlyNella1011: All you have to do is stretch it differently like stretch the front less and elongate the rest. That’s the plus of shrinkage

Elah Brooks: Yesss please make a video on how to take care of color treated hair. I’m thinking about coloring my hair, but it doesn’t do well when it’s colored

Colouredgal: She’s lucky that she can keep healthy dyed hair. My is messed up in my crown.

Annette Samuels-Davis: Yes!!! she ain't new to this ☺️ I love your hair Deep conditionering!!

Crystal Stanford: Also, with your hair content could you do how you maintain your color treated hair here and there and just some random wash and gos cause girl I have been watching you for awhile and i owe my hair success to God letting me find you cause I’m slowly getting to waist length with your help and I may color since I see you are successful at it

vanessa.witbooi: Go all blonde will look super good on you

Keilah Mills: Oooh girl you should really shape it. Hair is looking good and I understand what you were saying about wanting the layers to show more . Have you ever thought about doing a full head of blonde with highlights?

Baneful Beauty: Everybody hair aint able and thats okay. The thickness of your strands and density places apart in keeping healthy hair while colored

Bree Wadley: LOOOOVE IT! YES MA'AM...JAY U DID IT AGAIN..MISS U SO MUCH

Huntress Yalena: My hair bleached under the color too caring for bleached hair is just putting a little more time into the hair but definitely worth it I've always had high porosity hair so you get used to the routine and people saying your hair is going to fall out is funnymoment you get blonde thats exactly what others say i don't even think it would get to that point and i love your money piece the colors go well together but trying ginger there's always that chance it turns red‍♀️it sticks so much to blonde i get exactly what you mean

Chill Updates: Can we get an up to date on the products you use for your hair now? & I love the color!!

naturally rachida: Yes to a video on blonde hair tips

Shotz: I really like this color on you it compliments you

myworl15: It still looks good

Tamara Clay: Can you make a video about keeping blonde hair healthy please? How do you feel about spritzing water and applying leave in conditioner everyday?

myworl15: I miss your hair care videos, it gave motivation ❤️❤️❤️ weekly routine???❤️

booktoblockbuster: Girl helz no but it's your hair and it's your choice. Looking forward to more wash and go, silk press and stretching videos hair videos.

Ashley McDonough: I want a house update maaa’aaam!! ❤️

KataraPatriece: Lifestyle > Hair content > Hauls ❤

jessica khan: Hair goals

Phys ChemMaths: Hey, what protien treatments do you use?

Ash Prather: Do you ever the blonde piece getting orange dye on it? I have locs and I pretty much I have the same color you have but mine is smaller and I change up the tone of the orange depending on the season or my mood but it is semi-permanent color and sometimes the orange gets on the blonde after a wash if don’t remember to put my purple shampoo on it. That’s the reason and laziness of why I don’t have a big skunk strip and only have 1 Loc blonde.

Kami Koils: Well well well, looka who done came to chat with us!!! Hey Jae!

Kriston Gordon: Your hair is made of steel!!

Ameerah B: That orange is EVVVVVVVERYTHING ❤
