Hey Beauties it's Viviana and today welcome to another episode of. I have a big idea of what I'm doing today, but here I am to figure it out with you. So for my last video I was determined to get my braided heart bright red and that led us to trying several different techniques that didn't work. It wasn't fulfilling the vision in my head, but then that frustration led me to train a braiding technique. I'Ve never seen before if you haven't seen that video I'll be sure to leave it up in the eye cards, but then that happy accident led me to unearth a memory that I have repressed for a very long time. Alright, let me quickly tell you the story. So back when I was about 13 or 14, I was at a church camp and I had a friend there that came to the camp without her hair done. So she walked around asking people if they knew how to braid if they could braid up her hair. Well, I took this opportunity to go play in the girl head, so Serena was just looking for me to cornrow her hair right. Well, instead of going straight down with my cornrow, it's like I cornrow the hair, then I left a loop, then a quarter roll. I left a loop cornrow left alone, I told you, it was a repressed memory, she didn't quite say she don't like it, but it was a camp and other teenagers were there and they were laughing. I don't think it was a mean kind of laughing, but they were like. I want a dinner in our head Viva. What do you call the style? And then I remember, there was a garden on the campus and the other kids started to pick flowers and stick it into the loop yeah yeah. So for today I'm here to retry those braids on myself and that is so fat Gretchen stop trying to make fetch happen. It'S not going to happen. Maybe we can make fetch happen so right now I have a style in my head of how to incorporate this braiding technique. It'S Loop braid, I don't know yeah. So to start the style I have in my head. The first thing I'm going to do is to make a regular cornrow going straight back in the middle of my head, all right, it's cool! I hope that's neat all right now to the side of my Center cornrow, I'm going to make a nice small section, and this is what I'm going to be doing the loop braid on. How did I do this style again? What I'm thinking to do right now is to pre-part the intervals so wherever I put apart, that is where our Loop is at and I make it each interval about an inch and a half apart and I'm using my finger to try and keep it. Even so. I'M gon na start art. I don't know why I'm nervous so I'm going to start by first adding some gel to my part, it's kind of funny because I'm sure back then I wasn't overthinking it like I'm doing now. Yeah. I just did it because it came in my head and bought it here. I am with the kids later I tried to recreate the style and overthinking it. As you can see, I'm at my first interval, so I eat about there and now I'm just going to continue cutting and then I just cut about this much obviously and then I'm going to catch back, the cornrow so put it yeah. Is it a loop? Okay? So now I'm gon na catch back the cornrow right at the top of the section struggling. So when I sit down and try and get these braids right. Let me know down in the comment section: if any of you guys have ever been to a camp Church camp School Camp who have ever been camping. I want to know how old were you and how often did you go? Okay, it looks like a finally figured how to do this bird now. I don't remember needing anything to put between the loops while doing this cornrow back in the day, maybe because I wasn't doing it on myself, but yeah. I definitely think I got a better handle of making the loops when I put a makeup brush between my Loop. So that's all - I'm gon na be doing this from now on. Thank you. So as the sun is right now, I'm not really sure about it. I'M not really sure, but let's trust the process. I'M gon na put my hair in a low ponytail and do a nice braid at the back. My hair is not blending very well with this at all. I might have to do a door now. What am I putting through the loops? My idea originally was a shoelace. I have these bright neon shoelaces that I used in a shoelace curls video before, if you haven't seen that video I'll be sure to leave it up in the I cards yeah. So I went through massage and I saw the shoelaces and I was like okay I'll just lace this through the loops and made a little crisscross. I don't know how I feel about me being a big old 30 on the year old walking around with shoelaces. In my hair, so that's what I remember that I also had hello yeah. I won't be a 30 a year old walking around with shoelaces in my hair but crystalline instead, so what I'm going to do with the tinsel is I'm going to plait it and then I'm going to lace it through my hair, hey Beauties! Yes, here um! I think this is a lot more grown to have in my hair than shoe places. You know anything. Good glitter is grown foreign all right, so we're going to burn the ends and then lace it through yeah. This was all the things that I had, and this is where it starts. I hope this is foreign Ty. My hair should be completely set by now. So, let's find a look, I don't usually have my hair pulled back in the bowl very often so this is new. I really was nervous about where this hairstyle was going when I just started, but can we agree that it turned out good in the end, and the thing with this hairstyle is that you can be very creative as to what you decide to lace through the hoops. The loops another thing I found that I was like: oh, I also use this twine. I could have Twisted the twine and Lace it through the braids as well, and that would have given me a good look, oh, and not only that I didn't have to do this pattern or placing either okay. Let'S remember that, there's a whole chart up there with how to lace up shoelaces. Okay, you can write lacing technique to this is a chain Wednesday change it up on Thursday. It'S a new lesson pattern every day without changing my braids anyway Beauties. I really hope you enjoyed this video. I had to take you along with me, as I face this repressed memory of mine. If you're new to this Channel - and you haven't decided from this one - video videos - okay, we don't have to rush. What I'll do is leave some more of my videos up in the I card, so you can watch more get more familiar with my channel and then after watching, like one or two more of my videos, you should realize by the time that you actually enjoy my Content - and it just makes sense to subscribe, okay Beauties thanks again for watching later

Holly Kal: I’m just a 38 yr old Italian lady who loves watching Viv be creative with her hair. This is really cool.

Rishi Beauty: It turned out so beautifully!!!!❤❤❤ Love the bun & I appreciate all the hard work you put into it- braids can be so difficult. You make it look easy! Gorgeous!❤

LuccaAce: I love seeing Mr. Hair Therapy show up in these videos. He seems really funny and supportive

Mara Jones: I love this as a way of honoring child Viv and her creativity with hair. I love this!!! I hope you try it with different looping patterns!!! ❤️

Allison Mason: Looks nice but for people like me who think it's difficult to cornrows on yourself, this looks like a lot of work

browneyedsusan: I love how patient you were separating the strands of each stitch as you braided. Longer hair has its set of challenges. Your hair looks fantastic! You've done a great job taking care of it, and growing it out! (Edit added: Been to church camp and band camp. One friend ended up with Bantu knots in her waist length hair. It was a kid thing to do. :) )

Sherry Bolden: Love it, Viv! Can always count on you for kooky, creative content! The end result is always on point!!!

Denyce Baptiste: I haven't cornrowed my hair in years.... But this might just change that. Lol It's really interesting. Kids literally have the best ideas. 10/10

Corissa Kramer: That was so fun to watch! Super creative and cute. I love the idea of different lacing styles going through one braid. I also love a supportive and smart hubby! Great job, loved the video.

Mimyakko: It's crazy that you did this complicated hairstyle on a whim when you were a kid! The creativity

Amelia García: It’s such a beautiful hairstyle! You’re so talented and creative!

June S: Continue to file YOUR instinct! That's how innovation is born. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look . And, yes many a hairstyle was born at sleep away camps for me too.

Damane: I've been to church and school camp. Church camp was fun but also awkward as an autistic woman cuz they didn't quite get me. School camp I had a little more fun because at least my friends got me. Side note I love your channel as someone who cannot do her hair due to a disability it is a pleasure to watch you do yours constantly. I live vicariously through you and smile every time I see your notification pop up. I may not be able to watch every video at the moment of the notification but when I do I am always relaxed and enjoying the moments. You truly are entertaining, fun to watch, inventive, truly incredible at the work you do, creative, ingenious, and overall an incredible person to watch. I enjoy listening to your comments and stories and I'm grateful that you've brought us all into your world. Thank you for this. You truly make my day every time I see you. I appreciate you and enjoy every video.

Coco in Chicago: Hey Viv. I hate doing my hair but I thoroughly enjoy watching you do yours. I love your creative, can do attitude.

Mary S: It turned out great. The tinsel braiding was hilarious with the husband lending his hand. Definitely very creative.

Rocky Rocks: This totally seems like a type of hairstyle that will be super popular in the future! Its very cool and versatile!

joyjacobus: This style is a whole new trend! Go Viv

Knight Night3000: The idea of flowers in the loops sounds fun, too! Looks good!

Lovelightandauthenticity: LOVE THIS STYLE! Absolutely Beautiful ❤

Chronic Butterfly: Pretty! The summer after 6th grade, my friend and I would take turns spending weekends at each other's homes. I had moved and would be going to a different school, so we wanted to spend as much time together as we could. One weekend, I asked her to braid my hair. She did it the same way hers was braided and it was beautiful! But, I had to take it out after a short time because my head hurt so bad. She laughed and said that she forgot I was tender headed. We still had a great weekend even if my hair wasn't as cute as hers.

Nniki Mosley: Yeah I love doing the lace braid I’ve done it before. But instead of having a bun in the back of my head I had all of my hair at the top of my head in the braids we’re going to the bun so you can braid it in any direction you want

Melissa: I absolutely love this!! One of my favourite styles

janet hernandez: I have never seen this style before until now. Bravo to you Viv! I enjoy watching your videos when I have the chance like today! Enjoyed your repressed memory from church camp! Enjoyed your video dear! ☮

shadypalmtree: the fact that your single middle braid is the same thickness as one of my braids when I do two on my whole head. The envy I have lol.

RubyLovesRocket: No need to repress...you were just ahead of your time! Set the trends! I think this would be a great hairstyle for young athletes with long hair. They can have their hair back & out of their eyes, while lacing through fabric/hair/shoelaces/etc with their school colors. You can be safe AND have Spirit.

rachelmm05: The red added in was so much better than the tensile. Super cute style tfs

Patrice Langford: I went to bible camp when I was 11. I'm not religious and wasn't then either, but I had the time of my life. So much fun. It is still a very fond memory Your hair looks great!

Mean Jean McQueen: I love watching your videos! Your energy is so soothing and just makes me happy. Much love!

C Drew: I always forget you're not some big youtube star yet hence commenting for the comment boost! Your energy is so infectious and wonderful. I wish I had some non-caucasian friends to do their hair in some of your styles!! Obviously hair is hair but I like the texture and complexity of natural hair. I really liked the tinsel!!! Perhaps there's a longer version? Xx

MC2THEXPROJECT: it ended up being cute. when you mentioned camp, it made me think of the day camp I was in years ago. only did that a few summers but it wasn't a horrible experience.

Racquel Dixon: I’m actually gonna try this style. It’s really beautiful I had 100% faith in you….(side eye)

Jenelle Ewing: I think this style is going to go viral. I mean who else wants to try this...is it just me? Well if so I'm going to start the trend in my country at least.

Karen Krause: I love watcing you! This hairstyle is worthy of a Hollywood movie. It looks very classical and timeless.

bootsncats: You are so frickin creative. I never wouldve thought of this. I want to try this so bad

anonymousMist: Viv is the inner me that i don't unleash on the world LOL

Damane: I think it looks very pretty. You do such a beautiful job.

Alli Rose: My grandma took my brother and I to her church’s summer camp, which was half a day for a month. It was like summer school bc we had actual classes. And in college, I worked as a camp counselor at a religious sleepaway camp with my friends for a summer.

Red Bloop Creature: That’s gorgeous! Your brain works in amazing ways!

Geek E Media: It's so freaking cute idek how I would ask a salon for this. I'll have to show them this video

ملك مقبس: I love this style!

Abracadabralix: love the result !! it would look so cool with gold wire

Feel Good: The tinsel was giving a Renaissance look. Which made me think that you should do a braid/natural hair look to wear for Beyoncé’s renaissance tour.

C Drew: Fluorescent fishing line would be a good long alternative to the tinsel =D Xx

Max Suarez: I love it, absolutely LOVE IT! ❤

Only1Sosa: I liked the tinsel too Looked grown to me lol

willowflame13: I adore you and Hubby. Cutest interactions lol

SAC: Oooh the thumbnail looks so pretty!

No, The Other Emily: I went to camp almost every year as a child. But it wasn't the *nice* camp. It was the budget camp where you only paid for like half of it and nonprofits funded the rest. So everyone slept on cots outside and you showered by jumping in the pool every couple days. It wasn't until I watched this video that I remembered how even I always had my thin, straight hair braided before going to camp or else by a counselor on the first day. Was not fun taking it out when I got home though....

Kentsania S: When i was younger I rmr my cousin doing loop braids in my hair. Her twist was to add beads at some of the loops.

Miriam: I love it

fancydeer: that's so cute!!! I love it!

Mary Kluczkowski: super adorable hairstyle!!!

Ashkenia Sims: Ohhhhh I love it!!! Great Job!!!

J.H. Christian Artist: I went to church camp 4th upbto 7th grade I always wanted to be part of the hair braiding camp group but the girls would put my hair in a ponytail and told me my hair is to thick ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️ I never got the fun of other girls doing my hair at camp... darn thin haird girls haha

Lana Jig-maker: Is there a way to make the finished braid maybe 2x taller, like a mohawk?

Diamond Beckett: LOVE IT!!

Christina Kyle: Love you Viv!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Celebibi: Another suggestion if you made the front/lop of the braid/lace loose you could have it . Hang on you forehead and attach may a hanging bead that would rest on your forehead like a crown!

Oonagh72: It’s so cool!!!

latronqui: Looks great!

Morriel Shangrila: I love it!!!

Jeannine Gorden: I went to Christian sleep away camp (1 wk) almost every summer from 3rd grade to 12th.

Emeth: I love it.
