Finding WOMEN WHO USE CHEMICAL HAIR STRAIGHTENERS MAY HAVE A HIGHER RISK OF DEVELOPING UTERINE CANCER., WHILE THAT FORM OF THE DISEASE IS RELATIVELY RARE. The STUDY SHOWS PEOPLE WHO APPLIED CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENERS MORE THAN FOUR TIMES A YEAR FACED A 4 % RISK COMPARED TO 1.6 %. To THOSE WHO DID N'T USE SUCH TREATMENTS. > > WOMEN, WHO ARE FREQUENT USERS, WE SAW THEIR RISK OF DEVELOPING UTERINE. Cancer WAS ABOUT DOUBLE COMPARED TO WOMEN, WHO DID NOT USE THE PRODUCTS. > > Reporter IT TRACKS 33,000 WOMEN FOR ALMOST 11 YEARS, AND WHILE RESEARCHERS DID NOT FIND RACE OR AGE HAD ANY IMPACT ON RISK LEVEL. They NOTE THE ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECTS COULD BE MORE CONSEQUENTIAL FOR BLACK WOMEN. > >. 60 % OF THE WOMEN WHO REPORTED USING STRAIGHTENERS WERE BLACK WOMEN.. The BURDEN OF THIS EXPOSURE REALLY FALLS TO THE POPULATION OF BLACK WOMEN. > > Reporter. Despite A GROWING WOMAN TOWARDS MORE NATURAL HAIRSTYLES, MANY BLOCK WOMEN SAY THINK FACE IS DISCRIMINATION FOR WEARING THEIR HAIR THAT WAY. > >, EVEN THOUGH I FEEL LIKE ONLINE PEOPLE, SAYYAF ROWS ARE BEAUTIFUL. When YOU GO INTO THE WORKPLACE, YOU GET SIDE, EYED., >, > Reporter. She SAYS SHE STRAIGHTENED HER HAIR FOR TWO DECADES. > >. Those ARE THE RISK FACTORS THAT I NOW HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR, BECAUSE AGAIN, THIS IS SOMETHING I HAVE HAD PUT IN MY HAIR AND REPEATEDLY OVER TIME. > > Reporter. While IT'S NOT KNOWN WHAT BRANDS OR CHEMICALS ARE BEHIND THE RAISED CANCER RISK, RESEARCHERS SAY: STRAIGHTENERS COULD BE RISKIER THAN OTHER HAIR PRODUCTS BECAUSE THEY CAUSE ABRASIONS AND BURNS ON THE SCALP, POSSIBLY MAKING IT DANGEROUS EASIER FOR DANGEROUS INGREDIENTS TO ENTER THE BODY.. It'S NOT THE FIRST TO CLAIM THIS.. The PRODUCTS HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN LINKED TO HIGHER CHANCES OF BREAST AND OVARIAN CANCER.. Now THE NEW RISK ADDING TO A GROWING LIST OF POTENTIAL DANGERS.. So, WHILE THE STUDY DID NOT LOOK AT SPECIFIC INGREDIENTS, RESEARCHERS SAY CHEMICALS FREQUENTLY FOUND IN STRAIGHTENING. Products LIKE FORMALDEHYDE, METALS AND PARABENS COULD PLAY A ROLE.. It SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, ESPECIALLY BY FREQUENT USERS.. It SHOULD NOT CAUSE PANIC.

Carrots And Potatoes: Actually most products advertised for black/brown hair/skin has been found to contain toxic ingredients. You need to do your own research because that's where you will get your answers. Don't expect someone else to find the answers and present them to you. Please take care of yourself. ❤

Monique Writes: I had my first perm at 5 or 6 that was one of the worse decisions my parents ever made for me. Let’s teach black women to use tools that give them life and health while taking care of their natural hair. I will never go back to perms after more than 10 years.

M Riley: I've read the scientific report and I have soooo many questions. Which ingredient(s? causes cancer? Is it formaldehyde? Or formaldehyde releasers (which btw are in all our body creams and shampoos). Which brands? Is there a direct link? It literally says they are 'unable to determine that the products directly cause the cancer'. So lazy and vague and scaremongering. Black women deserve better

Srrp Nvhs: True but this can also be another way to hide vaccine injury. Let's not forget that part.

Whitney Foster-Johnson: Wow that's crazy I never heard about this until now Wow thanks for that information

OkayImBackWhatever Jones: Consensus is that it's worth it, huh... I think most folks with this are at the point that they would just rather not know ‍♀️

A.S. D.: What about hair dyes?

kumudini cabandugama: Is this also the case for hair dyes or tints?

ETERNAL LOVE : SEE THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES...BE READY

S PB: Black hair is NOT fragile or delicate, so please stop spreading that lie. Please stop telling women that there is such a thing as protective styling. Your hair and scalp need exposure to air, sunlight, water, what exactly are you protecting your hair from? Go natural and learn to care for your natural hair. The fact that 85% of the beauty industry is consumed by black women speaks to how gullible black women are in forcing themselves to fit into other people's beauty standards. Most of the beauty industry is not black owned and black women are dependent on companies that do not operate in their favor. The endocrine disruptors in most hair care products contribute to obesity, birth defects, cancers, and a myriad of health issues. The information exists and black women dismiss these facts and still insist upon using these products.
