So today i just want to share with you how i remove my tape in hair extensions. This is the first time i am removing them and i'm removing them at home by myself. So i wanted to share with you guys the process and how i take out. My tape ins, so if you haven't already, if you want to see how i installed these tape ins, because i did install these tape, ins at home go ahead and check out my previous video of how i installed the tape ins. It was my first time installing them my first time ever wearing tape in extensions, so yeah check it out. I did a really good job, but i'm going to remove these tape. Ins as you can see, a mess like a miss miss miss miss it's time. For these to come out, i believe i've had them in, for i think like a month. So today i am going to use the shea moisture, wig and weave for human and synthetic hair. Tea tree and borage seed oil bond release spray with aloe vera hydrate and remove so that's what it's going to do. So, of course, i did my research on youtube to see how most people removed their tape ins and they did use alcohol. But i just didn't want to use alcohol i might have to if this spray doesn't work, but for me i just felt more comfortable and better if i found a spray that was made for this. So we're gon na see we're gon na see how this works out. If not, i can always get alcohol and remove the tape ends. Yeah. I just researched sprays to remove like weaves and tapings, and this came up and then i just went to my local sally's and picked this up. So hopefully it works. Let'S see how it smells okay, so it smells good. So this is one tape in. If you can see it, let's see how this works yeah, i don't even know i'm just gon na spray. I have no idea what i'm doing um i don't know. Okay, do i need to separate the two pieces and try to spray it in between okay. So this is harder than i thought. Maybe it's not hard. This is just my first time doing it and i don't really know what i'm doing so um. I think what i'm going to do is i'm going to spray all of my tape, ins and then let them sit and then come back and try to remove them. So i think that's what i'm going to do, i'm going to spray them really good, soak them, and then i will come back to actually take them out. So that's what i'm going to do right now using my spray. Oh, this one wants to come out. Okay, so this one wants to come out, but i'm still going to just spray it and leave it because i don't want to pull and when i say my hair is so thick it's time for a relaxer. It'S probably, i know we're over eight weeks. It'S been two months, so i think we're going on probably like two and a half months since my last relaxer so yeah she is real thick yeah. I didn't even read the directions. I don't even know how i should do this okay, so i'm doing it completely wrong. I don't read instructions, i hate directions. Instructions and my patience is best. We working on that, but anyways. It says what i should have been doing is to spray bond releaser on a cotton pad or makeup applicator whole saturated pad on hairline, for one minute to soften glue gently rub to lather. If section does not lift easily reapply saturated pad and hold for additional time, wipe off the hairline completely and follow with our residue remover shampoo to lift away left over residue and product. So i guess - and i've seen people do that on youtube where they hold it. But i just thought: maybe i should saturate it, and that would help so. Okay. So maybe, let's go back to the first piece and maybe it's ready, but i can't see me holding a cotton pad or anything see like the application was good. But my patience with removing isn't that great this one i just want to like pull it out or or cut it, but that's not what we're gon na do not gon na do that. Okay, so it actually came blue. Okay, it's coming loose! So yeah! I, like my idea of just spraying: let it soak in and then come back spray it some more, not quite ready. I like these, but the take down too much. That'S why i like clippings, it's not a lot. You just clip it out. It'S fine so see like this piece is coming apart. Nicely yeah yeah you it spray it some more, so they're separated okay coming to loose. My first piece is out. This is my hair. Oh, i think it is my hair, so my hair came out. Oh oh! Well, it's to be expected when you're using glue like it's going to happen. So now, i'm going to take a comb and comb out that section to get any leftover glue out. Okay got some clumps of glue. So that's good about to book an appointment to take these out, because i can't do this. I don't have the patience. No combing probably isn't the best thing to do so: let's not come okay and she's out. Okay got some hair stuck to it. Is it my hair, though yeah it's probably my hair, so anyways i'm going to comb this out, so i'm thinking i want to see how it would be with alcohol if it would be easier to take it out with alcohol, because this spray doesn't have any alcohol In it, which is what i like, but maybe you just need some alcohol, because it'll come out easier, okay, so one piece out and like 50, more to go okay. So at this point i decided it was time to give alcohol a try. So i got an old heat protectant bottle that was empty, rinsed it out and poured alcohol and water into it. It'S mostly alcohol, but i thought water. I don't know i just wanted to add water. I thought pure alcohol was too harsh. So that's what i decided to do and that worked so much better than the shea moisture spray. So i did that for my whole head. I only did that one piece with only the shea moisture spray and then the rest of my head. I used the alcohol and water and, like i said it, worked wonders. Okay, i'm back, and i only have one piece left: oh yeah, it was a struggle with this spray. It works, but it takes a minute. The best thing for you to do is to do like everybody else does and do the alcohol in a spray bottle and do that because it works a lot faster and it's easier but listen. I was discouraged i was like. Oh, i can't believe i did this to myself. I can't believe i did this to my hair because it's very tedious and you need to have patience and it's going to take a minute, and i don't like tedious things. So i wanted to literally like take some scissors and just snip it off and be done, and we was gon na have a shortcut. It was just too much, but with the alcohol and a little water that works better um. I would get tape ins again because i was thinking i will never get tape ins again, but i will get tape. Ins again like i'll, go to the salon and get it done and removed because actually putting it in wasn't bad. It'S the removing what i don't like yeah, so we have one piece left one piece in the front: i'm going to miss the color. I love this balayage color anyways we'll have to get some clippings with a balayage color. So i'm just going to take the spray. The base like that, let it get really soaked and like let it saturate it and then i'm going to spray the other side, the back side of it as well, and then all you have to do is pull it apart. So, as you see it's pulling apart, if it doesn't want to open up easily just go ahead and spray it inside and then the tape ends are separated and i'm going to spray it. Some more like i've been saturating this. These tape ends in my hair with alcohol. I hope it's not damaging. I'M going to conditioning shampoo, very good, moisturizing shampoo, a deep conditioner and then voila. One piece is out: okay and the last piece is out so to get rid of any leftover glue in my hair, i have been using the shea moisture spray and it's been doing good, so i just every section i just take it spray it all over saturate. It really well rub it in, and then i take my comb and then i comb out any leftover glue that is in my hair. I have a lot of shedding because i have had these tape ins for at least a month, probably over a month. I'Ve had them in so i have a lot of shedding, which is natural, and i am all done okay. So what are my thoughts with tape ins? I love the tape ins. I love how versatile they are. You can wear them and a half up, half down you can wear them in the middle part, a side part, it just looks very natural, very real and they're so flat and seamless. So it's the best form of extensions that you can't detect. So that's great. The only thing is to the whole installing application of tape ins, the tape in has tape, so it has adhesive it has glue so that glue is going to be in your hair. So that's the only con about it, that's it! So the thing is, it's not a protective style. The glue can damage your hair. Like i already knew. Putting in these tape is that most likely i was going to get some breakage some shedding. I'M not surprised if i have a bald spot like because i was putting tape glue on my real hair. So that's one thing you need to be aware of when you're doing tape ins - this is probably the form of extension, that's going to damage your hair. So if you get damaged, if you get breakage, you should probably expect it, because it's tape ends also, if you are nervous for sure, go to a professional to get them done. I know in the future, if i ever get tape ins, i'm going to a professional to put them in and to take them out because the whole taking out process - i just don't like it. It takes too long. I, like my clip-ins. I can do them myself. I can take them out myself in like 5-10 minutes. It'S very quick, simple, easy! It'S not going to damage my hair, so i like that. So i'll probably stick with clip ins, but if i want tape ins, because i really enjoyed the tapings like i put them in a ponytail - i had them in for over a month, i washed them. I flat ironed them. So i do love the tape ins, but if you're on a healthy hair journey and you're trying to grow your hair and have healthy hair, the tape ends aren't probably the best thing to do like you shouldn't. Do it so yeah, but other than that i enjoyed the tapings. It was a great experience also, if you're interested about the hair that i had in my hair, the the brands of the tape ins, so the hair really does shed also it's affordable hair. So it's good for maybe like one installment like you could wear for like a month, um or maybe two at most, depending on how you care for it. But for me, i'm not going to reapply this hair, but i did enjoy the tapings and the color. The color was bomb the balayage color great. I am so in love with this color, so you will be seeing this color again, so i'm going to go and wash and condition and deep condition. My hair, if you're interested in how i wash my hair check out my wash day routine, it will break down my exact wash day comment down below and, let me know, would you ever try tape ins, since you saw the process of me taking out the tape Ins myself at home the possibility of damaging your hair.
