We can just jump right into the topic, as you can see right now. The micro links are no longer in my hair. I had them in for a little over four weeks, so it could be four weeks in total and it was just time for me to take them out and we'll get into that a little bit later on in this video. But first i want to talk about why i got micro links and what is micro links for people who don't know? Basically, micro links are these little pieces of hair, and it's almost sealed at the top and stylists will use a small bead and attach that onto your hair and then stick those little micro links hair on top of your hair, so they're attached. And then that can give you a fuller look. It can give you longer hair. It can give you any type of look that you want that you could not achieve before. So from going short to long or just giving you thicker hair, it was really really appealing for me because my hair has always been quite short. The hair that i got was kinky straight and i got it in 22 inches and this was the longest inch that my stylist could provide at the time. If i went any longer than 22, then it will be an extra cost and no one extra cost, because getting micro links is already a pricey service. So i was like okay, i'm just gon na stick with the 22 and 22 inches is already quite long, and i still had to have that hair cut just to give me a straight line cut because that's what i wanted and i got it in. I guess the color 1b, because my hair is 1b. The hair was a really really great match, but the problem with kinky straight in my hair, is that my hair is not processed or relaxed. So when i would wash my hair, my hair would get really curly because it's natural and then the kinky straight, it's kinky was not matching my natural texture. The look basically was only for a straight look, which was not an issue for me, because i wear my hair straight all the time. If you are a person who wears their hair natural wears, their hair curly out obviously get a different texture hair. Who did i go to? I went to sleigh nyc, they are in, i think, queens or brooklyn around that area, and i think she did a really good job. All of her services include a silk press and a wash one of my main reasons for picking her was because the other beauty salons they would not have like hair washing. They would not have silk press included, they would just have the installation of the micro links and then that would be like crazy amounts of money and then they still don't even like cut your hair, wash your hair give treatment to your hair. None of that would have been included, and i was like that sounds like a big waste of money, like i'm just going for you to attach beads into my hair with her, she was different. She did all of that stuff included in the price. The one thing i will say about her, which i did not like, is that she gave me brown beads and i don't know why you would give me brown beads. If my hair is black, it was just the one thing that annoyed me. She already apologized that she didn't have them, but i'm like, if you didn't have them, you should have at least deducted some money from the price, because i should not be having round beads when my hair is pitch black. Basically, you know so how long are microlinks supposed to last, according to her they're supposed to last three months, but i think three months is a stretch like that's a really really long time to have and for an entity in your hair. Without you know getting to your scalp and underneath the beads can have buildup of, like you know, gunk and dirt, that's also what i found when i was taking out my beads. So three months is a stretch, but they do say it can. Last up to three months, so you can get you know your money's worth. How long did the process of installation um the silk press, everything that she did with my hair? How long did this take so in total it took five hours. It took a whole five hours. I was basically at the salon the whole entire day and you know just talking to her, so it maybe even took longer than five hours, but this is a long service. So please keep that in mind when you're going to get micro links it's gon na be long, especially if you're gon na get long hair like i did. How was it you know, maintaining the hair. I personally found that maintaining micro links was actually very difficult. I made a post about it. I was like, i love it, because it's low maintenance - and it's just perfect for me, especially because i got the hair done in new york and i live in germany. So i got it done and then i left new york a week later, so i needed something low maintenance that i didn't need to keep going back and forth the salon to because i live in a whole other country. So it was not gon na work and then this one subscriber follower wrote i was like girl, it's not low maintenance, it's high maintenance - and i was like oh this, the stylist told me i was like the stylist told me: it was low maintenance. So i believe her and i should have believed her because she was right. Microlinks is high maintenance. It'S high high maintenance. I don't know anyone who could tell you, otherwise, it's high maintenance, washing the hair, is a lot more difficult, as it takes a lot longer blowing out my hair and flat ironing. My hair took forever. Normally it's supposed to be just a quick, quick thing, and then i'm done this was just taking so long and it was like at a point where i'm dreading, washing my hair and dreading doing my hair. How much do micro links cost? How much did i pay to get my micro links? I know this is like top number one question. Microlinks are not cheap and it's not something that you should be doing on a regular basis. I would only ever do micro links again if it was my wedding or if it was my wedding like it would just be at that. I don't see any other purpose to do micro links because it's pricey, it's high maintenance. I think it's really just for a special occasion, so i paid 800 usd and that included the silk press. That included a treatment that included a trim and that included the hair as well and the installation and the beads and everything. So i just had to show up, but eight hundred dollars like 800 is a lot of money, and this is not just because she's expensive. The girl that i went to this is the price like this is the price i've seen some prices vary, but it's normally from like 600 to 800 dollars and that's still expensive. Let'S talk about the removal process because i'm sure, if you really still want micro links, you're gon na want to you know, have it removed at some point and the removal process. I checked a few websites. The removal is also really expensive for no reason to remove the micro links costs around 200. That is normally the range 100 to 200. ps. I think it's a lot cheaper to just do it yourself, and it's not that difficult. You just need a plier tool and then you can take it out just be aware that you know you're, not a stylist, so you could potentially rip your hair out. You just have to know about the risks, obviously, but i decided to go forth with that idea because it's cheaper and i already had pliers at home, so it was free. I would say roughly six hours non-consecutively to take out the micro links on my own. So yeah, i think that's basically everything that i have to mention about microlinks. I hope this video wasn't too depressing for you and you don't have to take my experience as law. It'S just my experience. That'S how i encountered microlinks. If you guys have any other questions. Please just drop it in the comment section. I hope you guys are staying healthy and safe and i'll see you in another video foreign

Eb O: The audacity of some these stylist wanting to provide a service without washing their customers hair, it's not only unprofessional but unsanitary and unbelievable. I'm happy the stylist washed your hair but having brown beads on black hair is ‍♀️ she knew what she was doing by not letting you know. She wanted that $800. You have beautiful hair in the future consider just doing clip ins. These stylist nowadays are overpriced, better off doing your own hair.

Skinfluencer: So grateful for the true and honest review. I've invested alot of time and money into the health of my hair so I want to avoid anything that would potentially destroy that progress.

New Wave: Another thing to keep in mind ladies, all of your hair is exposed with microlinks. This is for my ladies that are used to wearing sewins, upart wigs, and wigs. It means you will be straightening your hair constantly especially if you sweat in the back. Summer is around that corner and humidity is real. Microlinks are very much a high maintenance option.

TheChicandCheap: Thank you for sharing your experience . Love your honest reviews! I personally found my hair got healthier once I started using olaplex and tools like the ghd and dyson.

EbbieInTech: I thought about getting micro links when my natural hair was longer but when I found out the price and maintenance, I quickly shut that down! I love having next to no hair now, lol.

QuickTours: Yeah I live in London now, originally from Callie. I was going to get micro links but I tried them out on myself and absolutely a no go for anybody with thick hair. I texturize my hair once every two years but my hair is mostly Afro thick and it’s just not meant for me my hair shrunk up a lot because of the moisture in the air this is good for people with permed very thin hair or people who don’t mind straightening the hair and keeping it straight

Charisse Elaine: Clicked this video with the quickness!! THANK YOU for giving us your honest feedback about your microlinks! I loved your microlinks, but I totally see what you mean about it all.

Hair with Mo: If you want low maintenance, you have to get your natural hair texture, so when you wash your hair, you don't have to do so much like trying to get your natural hair blend with the extensions

D Cunningham: Just found your channel and I’m obsessed! I have a similar hair texture and watching your how you curl your hair video helped me so much!!

QuickTours: Also if you want to do it by yourself there’s plenty of microlink kits online you and your friend can do it and give yourself the experience before you pay for a professional to do it. Do a test drive. This cause my hair to break off really really bad because of the constant pulling as well

Dorothy Harris: I have micro links for the first time it’s absolutely not worth it . They look great but the maintenance is too much money when I can just get a wig and rewear it

Amanda DIOR: haha, that was me! I told you it WAS NOT a low maintenance hairstyle but I'm happy you got to see it for yourself!

Ange S: Just for context how much would it cost to get Braids done in NYC ? The time it takes to get the microlinks seems similar (but with obviously different results).

Vanessa Little: Hey, maybe you could try microlinks as a braidless sew in? They put on a row of the beads and then sew a weft on. There a tons of youtube videos about it its a bit like clip ins but they stay on for weeks.I live in germany and I am also black that's the one I am getting and its way cheaper (I pay 80 euros every 8 weeks, my friend lives in a cheaper area where she only pays 50) and not that harsh on the hair

IAmNotThe ONE: Whats the difference between microlinks itips and fusion ??

When In Doubt Pink: definitrly informative, i never actually thought about doing this and I think its because there is a lack of representation

Gabriella Maropa: In Rotterdam my stylist asks for 230 euros which is expensive but not the extremes of USA.

GoldenChild: The idea of having something in my hair for that length of time…if I have my hair up in a bun or ponytail too long, my scalp gets sore .

BE gee: $800 is good for all of that price which can last a few months with good maintenance

Abigail Gabrielle: Hi Zoe, what have you done to your video for some reason they look a lot more high quality. Did you get a new camera or change lighting?

Beverly Mckenzie: Thank you. We love your. Natural hair!!

MadameBeautiful: i still cant bring myself to pay so much for hair style...i think ill stick to clip ins lols

Ro Ro: Hi I miss your sister and father just wanted to know how you and your extended family is doing . When you are in the U.S can you do a video with them. I hope everything is good with you as well your not smiling like the earlier video. Overall I hope everything is working out good please don't stress god is there for you and other. See you in the next video

SunShine ABC: Well!! Zoie’ So now you know- You have beautiful hair…. So! No need for micro links again…(not even for your wedding).

Micah Sampson: It’s high maintenance for sure if I have a client that I know for sure does not have the time to take care of there natural hair I would not recommend it to them at all

Tytiana Yatori: What inch microlinks did you have?

Adeline Estella: Remove microlinks dont damage hair?

Errorless Fashion: Stay connected ☺️

B N: This is completely random. First of all ure beautiful Second I watched Your video about why you want to stay in Germany I recommend that if you’re going to start a family have your children be born in the United States and then just relocate them in Germany when they were babies so that they have that American visa which will allow them to travel anywhere they want as opposed to having a German visa which might make it difficult for them to live in America if they wanted to.

harry fisch: I like ya rough style of clamp off ya artificial hair (sorry I‘m just a man ‍♂️) But you look so beautiful with short hair, you don‘t need that ! Have any tips for blonde guys with thin hair, same lenght like you, getting more volume ? Intercoffeurs always want to cut

Briana Elias: What salon did you go to

Chrissy _AK: Loool thats kinda cheap compared to how much girls are paying for bundles alone, not incl installation

Glory to the King: 800???

Joy Adebambo: In 10 secs in .. Wait what

Errorless Fashion: I m first pin please

IAmNotThe ONE: 800 !????
