This hair routine of mine - I have really really really simplified it, so I'm gon na you know give you a story background about my hair, so that you can know. You know why it's so simple enough for me to take care of it. So hello, good morning, beautiful, well welcome! Welcome back to my channel, thank you so much for stopping by and if you're new to my channel welcome, and let me tell you what we do here in this channel. So what I do is I share my life Journey with you guys and, most importantly, I tend to focus on personal development, as that is to me something that I believe, makes and completes you as a person and and as an individual in this world. Apart from that, I share things to do with beauty, uh lifestyle cooking that I love doing. Basically, I share my passion and one of them is hair and recently uh, one of my subscribers loyal subscriber of mine, asked hey Linda. Why don't you share with us? Your hair, routine um, I didn't think people would be like interested in my hair routine. So I thought okay, why not so I said I will do it, and this is the video now um this hair routine of mine. I have really really really simplified it. So I'm gon na you know give you a story background about my hair, so that you can know. You know why it's so simple now for me to take care of it. So go grab yourself, a cup of coffee or whatever. It is that you drink and just sit down for a little bit of a story time right. Let'S go with the story so anyway um I have been a natural uh for uh, seven years or so, but let's backtrack, let's backtrack. I have had a relaxer on my hair, I have heard I have been a natural and I have now at this present moment in time. I am a texturized girl now before anybody gets in the comment and says all those nasty things about whatever class type of hair. You have, let's all remember one thing: it's only hair and it's you take care of your hair, the way that it pleases you and what is easy for you to manage and what you can handle and what makes you feel good. So if you like, your hair, relaxed, go ahead and relax your hair perfect fine, as long as you know how to take care of it, why not, if you want to stay unnatural, go ahead, do it be natural, but don't you know don't go out there and Judge others, because of what they're doing to their hair or how they're taking care of their hair. It'S not up to you and you know what everybody's entitled to do, whatever they want to do with their hair, and you know the texturized girls as well. All bold or nothing I mean it's all what you prefer so out of all those I have had challenges in all of them when I oh yeah, and I've also had a period where I did do uh the keratin treatment and out of all of those, the Keratin treatment was the one for me that I found to be the worst of them all, because if your hair wasn't flat ironed to me, I found like it was nothing and plus you had to flat iron your hair. Every time you wash your hair - and I just could not handle that you know so it's just like. If you blow dried it, it didn't work or whatever you had to flat iron it to keep it. It was pretty much like having um relaxed hair, but at a more challenging um maintenance routine. So I only kept that for a year anyway, so I relaxer. Obviously it's using years and years and years ago I probably say 20 years old or even more. My old is my daughter, she's 30., so I'll probably say 30 odd years ago is the last time I ever did that I lived there relaxing hairstyle and then I then I went 30 years ago yeah 30 years ago. I'M confused with the timing anyway um and then no actually, it's 30. Isn'T it's not it's not true. It'S actually 20 odd years, yeah 20 odd years, and then I went to uh a little bit of natural, but then, with that natural I just was braiding. My hair, I was letting my hair out in any way, because at that time I had not done any research on how to take care of hair and stuff like that. So I just don't just wash it blow dry and then put it back in braids. So I didn't do much with it and then after that is when I did the keratin treatment, which I kind of did for about a year, and I just like I said I hated it and then I stopped and then from there on, I became a natural. I went into natural hair for about seven, seven or eight years until 2020, uh um is it 2020 yeah uh, 2019 yeah 2019. You know I just wanted to do some interesting stuff with my natural hair, because it was just straight up twist out blow and um, braids and stuff. I loved it and afros I loved it. I put some pictures up here, so you guys can see how we used to look and then I decided you know what I want to try something different. So I colored my hair. I watched this YouTuber. I think it was minimally and I really loved how cut the color of her hair. She had red hair and I thought wow. I love that I love it. I want that for myself and I went and did exactly the same one that she did. It was really beautiful, as you can see, from the pictures up here - very beautiful - I loved it, but what it did it's it left my hair very, very extremely dry, there's nothing! I could do to maintain its luster or it's. You know it was always dry and by this time I already knew how to take care of my own natural hair. So that was not just absolutely nothing. I could do So eventually in 2020, I cut it as you can see here, and it was beautiful. I loved it, I loved my short hair. Actually, that's probably what the style that I have when I reached 60 - maybe I'm 52 53 this year, so maybe in seven years I might just go back to short hair. We shall see if that's gon na happen, but yeah, so I love that so and then I decided okay, I'm going to go back to natural hair because I like natural, hair and stuff and it's easy for me to to um, maintain and to watch it well. I thought it was easy for me to maintain and I wanted to see you know what should grow and pay attention to it. So it grew to this and then what you see here in this picture and then about uh 2021. I think it was in October, or something like that. I just got tired of the two starts and all this and all that I just find it so cumbersome and tiresome just taking care of my hair in a natural state because it took forever to dry and all these other things that come with natural hair and Too much time you know, even though we had time in our hands at that time, we could do it at home, but once we start getting back to work and everything you want to style. That is easy and it's manageable and you can handle and that's when I said, went back to YouTube and I watched a lot of YouTubers and stuff and I watched about and I learned about, texturizing your hair. So I thought to myself: oh yeah, I'm gon na try that out, so I texturized my hair. I think it was in October of 2021. I suppose it was and um yeah and I haven't looked back so what I have right now is texturized hair and I only texturize twice a year, so it's October and in April, so right now, as you can still see it's quite okay, it's not there's not So much growth and stuff, so I'm happy with it as it is, and the next time I'll be texturizing will be in April or May, depending on how much growth I have so guys. That is the story of my hair and, where we're at today, and and now, as you will see on the video it takes me such it, doesn't take me that long to take care of this hair, what I normally do uh like now, I've got it I've. Just this is just me, finished blowing it out for this video, but what I will do is I'm going to uh, do some cornrows and then I'll probably put a sew in um just because of the weather, it's cold and raining, and it's just not good for Our hair, regardless of what state you have natural relaxed, texturized, whatever the case may be so I'm gon na probably put in a sew in but uh. If I'm not doing a sewing and I've just blow dried, my hair and I'm not doing - and I'm not flat ironing to have my hair out for about a week or and a half or two, I normally uh, just uh blow dry it and then braid it As you will see on the video and then I just leave it like that for the when I go to bed in the morning, open it up uh. If I like the wavy hair that that I have from the breast - and I leave that out or I just put on or leave the braids on and I put on a wig or I put an extension clear, thingy hair extension uh hold my hair, like back. Like that, obviously, then put the extension or just hold it like this and twirl it around like that, and I have a star. So I really like the easy lifestyle I have with this texturized hair and for me it works for me brilliantly and I enjoy it and I'm loving my hair so guys. That is the story of my hair, a little bit of a background. So when you watch the video you can understand how fast it is and how quick it goes and stuff I'm not advocating for you to go into the same um as I've done. I'M just sharing my journey of hair of my hair and what I find easy for me so guys that was my little story time now, let's get on with the video so guys my hair has been in a plastic cup um. I did a hot oil treatment. Basically, for the scalp to stimulate a mice scalp and I'm making a video for you guys on how to make these oils for yourselves. That will help stimulate your scalp, which in turn helps your hair to grow. So now, I'm getting ready to go into the shower. To wash my hair see, I mean you when you do the hot oil treatment and stuff. I think the best is to do it overnight if you know you're going to wash your hair the next day. So if you do the overnight um heart oil treatment for your scalp, massage scalp, you know just do all that good stuff and that's what helps to stimulate the hair and helps the hair grow. The oils don't make the hair grow. It'S the stimulation of the roots of the scalp and the massage, and all that just that really helps the follicles to open up and then your hair grows. All these fats emphasize that this is what I believe. Okay of people say. Oh put this oil and your hair will grow and all that jazz. No, it doesn't work that way anyway, guys so, let's get on to it. So I'm going to share with you guys um my steps. As I said on the intro. It'S I try to keep it very simple, very, very simple, because wash day can be a challenge for a lot of people, and you know it's just it shouldn't. Take that long. It shouldn't take like that long. Like I've told you guys, my hair is texturized, so it takes me um if you include the half an hour to 45 minutes, of which I do the treatment. It doesn't take me that long, it doesn't take me um like four hours or whatever, but I don't do the treatment every time so um in general generally uh. This is what I would do if I wasn't doing the deep conditioning treatment, so I would use obviously texturized shampoo and I'm using apogee. I think you all guys know about apogee shampoo, it's textured hair wash and then I would just use the two minute reconstructor. As my conditioning treatment and that's it so my hair would literally take once I'm showering. That'S it just do those two get out blow dry, my hair and Bob's your uncle, but for today and the purpose of this video I am going to do a deep, deep conditioning, treatment and my favorite at this very Present Moment In Time. Besides, it was 70 off is mild, deep conditioning, babasu and mint. I love this or I love this deep conditioner it just I just don't add anything else. I don't add anything else to to to this. Sometimes, when you buy deep conditioning treatments, you might want to add some oil or some extra stuff, but for this one for me for my hair, I have not needed to add anything so yeah guys. So I'm going to share with you how I watch I've never done this video before so. I hope I get it right and don't expose myself so foreign foreign foreign guys, so I've just finished having um washing the rest of my body, and I just wanted to jump in here. Quick and just tell you my next step now. So you saw that I put my deep conditioner on and I put this plastic cup. I put this on immediately so that uh it can start the steaming. Whilst I was having my shower in there that the Steam and everything can you know help with my hair treatment, so I'm gon na wrap it up in this towel. I hope this is focused and not too dark, but we shall see - and I'm going to keep this on for 45 minutes. If you have a dry or a steamer, you could use that that would lessen your time probably need only 20 minutes or something like that. But I'm just going to do 45 minutes whilst I clean the rest of my house get dressed and do all that jazz, and I will see you guys on the final part of this video, where I show you how I blow dry my hair within minutes. I put a timer on and you'll see. It probably takes me about 10 to 15 minutes. If, if that at all all right, then guys see you in a bit all right guys. So I've been started: the uh deep conditioner out of my hair and uh yeah. I wrapped it in this microfiber towel, which is actually quite good for you to use a microfiber towels because they don't um snag at your hair. So, as you can see guys, my hair is um. I don't know if you can see that, but it's pretty much. Almost a dry - and you can see that um, I still have my curls still curve. My Curls light slight slight slight heat damage there, but you know what again, as I said in the intro of this video, it's only hair and you need to enjoy your hair and have fun with your hair and if you can't enjoy your hair. What'S the point right, what is the point of it? So I'm going to spray my okay, so we're gon na be really cold. It'S really cold here. So I'm keeping on my um fluffy, big old um hoodie, to keep warm. I might take it off once I get the blow dry going anyway, so I'm going to put in some hip protector. I haven't put anything else on my hair: I've only just rinsed out the mild deep conditioning treatment and that's it, and now I'm gon na go in with my hip protector. But first i'm going to section my hair in four sections just to make my work easier and you know what once I start to blow dry, I'm going to put the timer on and just see how long it takes me, because I'm pretty convinced that it doesn't Take that long to blow dry, my hair, it really doesn't. I mean it's already semi-dry anyway, I don't have enough Clips, I'm just going to use a headband, hmm right. That'S it four sections. Let'S get the phone and put the timer on so stopwatch start foreign foreign foreign. Thank you, foreign after sectioning and stuff like that, and as you can see it's pretty much dry, I don't use uh. I didn't use too much heat um. I um blow dried on the middle setting which is caused is warm but not too hot, not scorching and like burning and on high heat and there's always this um cool button here to you know: yeah cool, your hair off and stuff and seal the oil. So you once you press that in you get the cool blasting and that seals the hair and the oil, and then the oil comes from this um heat protectant and that's all. I do in case you're wondering what uh dryer this is. It'S the Aphrodite make you can get this, I think from um. I think I got it from Amazon, so that's it guys. That'S my hair blow dried and that's all I do for my uh taking care of my hair um when it's a big wash. That is a big wash for me. What I did today, what I've shared with you on this video is a big wash for me on a regular basis, I'll just wash my hair with the shampoo and a conditioner, and that's it so like I'm, like a midweek wash if I've done a style that I didn't like, or I don't have the time to do that lengthy wash. Then I will do um the conditioner and shampoo and then do I blow dry, my hair, all the time. Well, that depends also, if I'm going to like um flat iron, then I will, and if I'm going to like do cornrows, so I can wear either a wig or do a crochet, braids and stuff like that, then I'll blow dry it. Otherwise. I won't blow dry. My hair I'll just let it dry, naturally under the towel and then I'll just do a few braids, three or four. Depending on how tight I am and then that's it and then just leave it like that to the next day. So I'm going to show you guys what I do to um like now: I'm not going to flat iron because I'm not going to wear any flat iron straight, my hair out straight! So I'm just going to um I'll! Show you what I do to prep it for the evening before I go to bed, foreign, of course on the style that I'm gon na do uh the next day, but most of the time, if I'm going to hold my hair up and then put a an Extension piece: this is what I will do, uh the night before and I'll just take any um butter or whipped curl, defining Whip or any kind of oils that you like - and I just put this at the ends of my hair as once, I've braided and at This present moment in time I have got the curl Main. What is this by Aunt Jackie's uh girl main tenants defining core whip? I don't use it to Define my crush or anything like that like that, and then I am also going to seal the ends with this Dax um. What do we call this there's a word anyway. You guys know what I'm talking about geez. Sometimes, when you go when you start to record you just the words just Escape your mind, okay, so I am not going to put any uh that much of that um and Jackie's is just for the ends and then seal it with that. Just because the ends are, the you know are the ones that get damaged the most. I'M just gon na put a little bit of that stuff and I'll show you how much I'm doing at the ends just that much it's just for the ends and it feels like the the hair is getting a little bit damp again. But once you braid your hair it'll dry and it will be soft, so I don't worry about that. It'S more about protecting my ends. Okay, then I just braid it as you can see it's a little bit. Um reverted back to curls, but that's fine, because once I put the Dax and overnight it'll get back to being straight again, it was too much so I'm gon na put some in the end and continue braiding it down foreign foreign. Okay, that's it so there you have it guys normally in between there's a bit there, where I didn't put um scalp oil, because that's because I don't have any uh, I will be making a video on this cup oils that I use uh, that don't um make Your hairs leave your hair, greasy and stuff so that you know you don't have to wash your hair all the time like in every three days, but for now I'm going to put um this um Dax on my scalp. Just the exposed Parts like that and as you can see guys um, I don't have a dry scalp to be honest, but you know it's something that I've done. You know this is something that you've done. You know, since you were a child, so it just it. Just feels good that, after you've washed your hair, just to like scalp, put some oil on your scalp, you don't really have to do it, but I just like I just like knowing that I've done it, because I'm not putting everywhere. But it's just that feeling that I want. Oh, it feels so good foreign and there you go guys. That'S my hair care routine and actually, when you do this, you could you could wear a wig under your um. You know you could wear these braids and wear a wig, which is what I did when I made the intro to this video so guys, if you've reached to the end of this video - and I was able to share some comments - some comments, some nuggets with you Guys, I'm truly truly truly thankful for that and yeah guys comment below and let us know what you use for your hair and your wash day and what products you really like. Like I said I like to keep it simple um, I discovered that when my hair got texturized how easy and simple it is to maintain it and to take care of it um, I don't. I don't oil, my hair every day. I don't do this um routine, that I've just shared with you with regards to this uh, but with using this whip every day, um, because my hair, I found that it doesn't need it once I do, the you know the the deep conditioning treatment and then I Put in the I blow dried and this oil seems to seal my moisture in my hair um, I'm good to go. This will last me probably until next week today is Tuesday. So probably the next time, if I don't do braid my hair or make cornrows or probably the next time I'll, do that conditioning treatment with the oil with that cream would be on Sunday when I'm doing my self-care days. So it really is. I discovered a really easy and manageable way to take care of my hair, so I hope that helps you guys, and I hope you like this video share it and comment below and I'll see you guys on my next one bye foreign
