Yo, what's up everybody, it shake the barber and I'm here at beardbrand studios with my friend Daniel today we're going for the big chop, alright, so the first thing I'm gon na do since we're getting rid of most of this. So I'm just gon na cut this hair together, get it on my way, I'm just gon na chop it off alright. Now that most of that's out of the way, I'm gon na section it off, I'm gon na start my fade. So I'm gon na take my Clipper all the way closed and I like to keep it on one side. So I'm going to start down by the ear I'm gon na bring it right up to where the arch would be at the top go for more of a higher fade and when I'm cutting, I really like to adjust the head move the head placement. So I'm not moving all around make the client work for me. Make my life a lot easier. I'M gon na do the same thing on this side. Now that we have our guideline set in, I want to take my Clipper as a detailer. It'S almost completely skin, but it's not quite skin, yet I'm gon na take all this out and when I do this, I really like to stay below this line. I don't want to go up into this because I'm going to create a line, it's kind of hard to get out, so I'm gon na keep it about quarter-inch below. So after all, that's gone. I'M just gon na dust off the head and I'm gon na use. My foil shaver and because I took this down to stubble, I can bald this out if it's not completely stubble and there's still long hair this, this clipper actually won't cut the hair. So it has to be super short. I'M just going to take this and I'm gon na keep it below what I just did with the other clipper. So I went zero detailer now shaver, I'm just dropping a little bit each time, all right! So now, I'm gon na start the fade. I'M gon na. Take a half clip, I'm going to put it on my Clipper, all the way close and I'm gon na go up almost an inch and when I fade, I really like to just keep the one side and that way, I'm not jumping back and forth and losing Where I'm at, I can really concentrate on one area and it's also a lot faster. I just keep it super controlled in this area. So I'll do all my steps to this side. Take the half off open my Clipper all the way up and I'll go right below that line, close it a little bit and I'll drop down just a little bit. So now my Clippers all the way close and, as you can see, I just spayed down and I closed my Clipper a little bit each time and that way, I'm not chasing a line all the way up, the head and I'll go back and I'll just kind Of corner it very lightly and at the end of the haircut I'll go through with my detailer and clean up any areas that need to be cleaned up where the skin meets the actual fade. But for right now making it look as best as possible without taking too much time now. I'Ll put my one-and-a-half guard on my Clipper, but I'll have my one in my hand, this is how the way I take my one-and-a-half up just a little bit just about the same length. I took the half clip up. Take my one and a half off put my one on and I'll open it and I go right below that same technique and for this part of the fade, I really like to just use my corners and rock it back and forth, and that way, I'm not Really taking big chunks out of this, because you can always take more hair off, you can't put it back close it a little bit put my one-and-a-half back on open it just a little bit. I just want to feather this part out and for this part I usually like to leave it heavier and darker up here. So when the head starts to round at the top. I don't like to follow that shape. I like to give it more of a box to look so I like this length right here, so it falls down instead of rounding up, I'm just gon na clean that up just a little bit put the corner and I'm going to attack the other side with The same steps I took, I'm gon na work with the back I'm gon na make these two sides meet, don't make any sudden movements here, I'm just gon na adjust where this hair is. That way. I can't work on the back. Put my half back on close. It right to where put the half in on each side we're just gon na make these two sides meet. Take the half off open all the way up, we're just gon na fade downward. Take my one-and-a-half guard close. It open just meet in both sides. Close! It'S a little bit and just make sure you can always hear the hair cutting, because if you can't hear the hair cutting it's not donate all the way close. Take my one off all the way: open kind of use, the corners just using my corners kind of picking out the fade cleaning up some dark spots can be a bit deceiving because the hair is a couple colors, so it's dark in some areas. It'S light in other areas, you're just kind of using your finesse with the Clipper and you're being cautious. That'S why you're only using the corner! You don't want to go in like this and take a big chunk out and then have to redo the fade right now. We'Re just gon na go in is the same clipper that Clippers just kind of hot from using it. So what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na taper out these burns, lighten it up a little bit, and for this I really I don't like to do too much. I really don't like to get a clip and go into the beard and take off a lot of this length as this length makes. This look fuller. You know, there's a very full beard. I don't really just don't want to do too much with the beard. A lot of the times less is more, so I'm really just gon na do the same technique. I did with the fade, but on the beard and reverse. So I'm just gon na corner this and like take little pieces out at a time and remember you - cannot put hair back on, can only take more off so be careful with this area, since this beard already has really good shape kudos to the barber that caught This before him did a great job, I'm really just gon na take some of the stragglers off and then we'll do a little work to the mustache and we'll do a shape up, but it's a really good beard. So this part is really just you just have to be tedious and not take all too much so for this I really like to have the Clipper all the way open. The Clipper is such an unforgiving tool. I don't like to have it closed because one wrong little movement. You can really really take a nice chunk out of the beard if they move or you flinch. So I, like the Clipper all the way open, and this is a great clipper for for doing beards. When I do the beard, I really like to come to the side, it's kind of hard to see what you're doing in the front come to the side. So now, on the other side, I'm just gon na do the same thing really light. I'M going to open the Clipper up, I'm just gon na double-check the beer and I'm gon na comb under and pull down, and this is a gon na show a lot of the weight under here. That looks good, there's just a few hairs that I want to get rid of. I really like to come up comb coming up, grab and pull down balance my middle finger on the chest, and that way I'm not freehanding in it with a shaky hand, and this is going to ensure that I don't cut anything. I don't want to cut anything. Come back, but I like what the barber did before with keeping this all natural for the mustache said he wants to keep it super long, not not terribly long, but a slight trim. So I don't want to kill all this length. So what I'm gon na do is just comb this down and instead of going right in I'm just gon na almost like sketch away some of these hairs. The same thing, I'm going to balance with my middle finger just lightly trace some of these hairs, pull it down and I'm always gon na come down after every step. I take because Clippers a lot of the time, we'll just push hair out of the way without cutting it. I want to make sure I'm actually cutting hair. That'S why I have this out all shape up very light. I like to keep it natural, I'm just gon na kind of clean up the cut before I cheer the top and straight razor. The beard put this hair all away. Take a look! It'S this beard right here with some hairspray and now, while that's drying, I'm gon na go and start cutting the top. Now that we have our guideline in the front, that's what I'm gon na follow for the whole top. I see what I need to cut so now, what I'm going to do? I checked it. Everything checks out, I'm just going to add a little texture. Gon na point cut this, so it lays nice put a new blade in I'm just gon na lately etch this sideburn. I remember I put the hairspray in I'll, let it dry, so that's actually a layer over the skin just get my detailer that these pairs up by the PATA I I'm gon na go to my trusty temple smoke. My favorite scent from beardbrand take a little bit. This is the styling bomb. I'M gon na evenly distribute this through my hands work it through the hair. Before I blow-dry I like to put it in before I blow dry, hit this nifty little contraption finish off with the temple smoked sea salt spray. Little mist put my blow-dryer on cold work that, through Oh hi, guys stop before you watch our next video. Let me tell you our sea salt spray. This product is amazing for your hair. Philip Beadle: As a dude with long hair, that unceremonious chop hurt me deep in my soul.

En Svensk Grabb: From viking style to hipster

Vrailly: More long hair on men videos please. Maintenance trims, chops, the entire array!

Adam Rosales: My man had some coarse hair! Looks excellent. Watching these videos have actually helped inspire me to go to barber school and make a lifestyle change.

Cheap Coffee: That was the most uneven shave I've ever seen by a "professional". His beard/sideburns cut was way higher in the one side than on the other, and his hairline in the back is higher in the left side than on the right. I've no idea how you managed to mess it up so bad, and I've no idea how you thought it'd be a great video to post on YouTube, and checking in the comment section it's clear that most folk here noticed your f*ck ups.

Kyle Climer: The before hairstyle was more viking like to me but alright!

LeftLeftRightRight: Crazy how he cut that all off. If I was him I would have gone full Ragnar

BORN TO CREATE: The haircut looks good on him and that dyson blow dryer need to get one

HeROsiNhEaVeN: Great editing work done on this one fellas !

Trophy Beard: Great video as always! Trophy Beard approved!

Nemolas: The way he avoids the camera in the end I kinda have the suspicion he's not a fan of his hair cut.

Trissa Hisel: This is how I imagine my son looking as an adult and makes me wanna cry love your videos and skills ❤️

tom breen: Jake barber skills ...next level ..always explains what he is doing and is meticulous in detail

Finty 4: How to become a barber Step 1: get tons of tattoos

Mr.Mister: This client has a fantastic beard. I think his long hair was cooler than than the haircut but just my opinion.

Tracey Thomas: Did a few skin fades today using similar method found your tutorial really helped me today thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge it's helped my skin fades so much

Mobbytea TowN: I'm weak at the end when Jake pushed his head back all weird with his pointer finger

Alexander Bauer: I'm to afraid to rock my hair in that kind of viking style with the skin fade. Looks good on this one >>thumbs up<<

lawinendackel: Amazing, all the tools the old vikings had to have for a haircut. damn precise.. not just a simple shave along the lines..

No BS Beard Reviews: Great cut! I’m gonna need to make it up to Philadelphia one of these days to get a cut from Jake or Justin.

Sandra Maessen: What an improvement !!!♡

Marco Giovanni: The before hair was more viking than the new haircut

Baba Yaga: Jake is seriously an artist. Never seen a bad cut from him. I'd love to get that exact haircut, looked great.

vince: i definitely prefer the speeding up effect instead of the old transition cuts between shots

Robert Poole: This is the best cut and beard trim I have seen in quite a long time.

SkillBilly Insulators: I need a Jake in my home town.

Purp Jones: My favorite feeling in the world is sticky hair spray on my whole face with tiny hairs still everywhere on me

anzaa91: i went from same long hair to similar haircut, after few years im leaving my hair to grow back.

NMages20: They need some more curly hair videos

Jühn: That Dyson hair dryer is insane

Emperor Palpatine: When you cut too low on the sideburns

a church: Looks good both ways, but, the way he had it before might have been more along the lines of how Vikings may have warn the hair. That being said, nice job!

Melina Prado: My brother made me watch this video just so, I can see how he wants me to cut his hair.

Procras10eighter 1992: I know it's what the guy came in for but I was a bit horrified when he unceremoniously just clipped off years of length in one cut without even asking if the guy was ready, are you sure, etc.

Dan Wright: Looks better with long hair. I miss the long hair. Hopefully he will grow it back again. What’s Dan’s Instagram????

styleblenda: Nice work Jake , love the edit jack

Greek Fire: I have a question, in the fade part, around the 6 minute mark, wouldn't you have to go back with a 0.5 open to blend in the hair since you need to blend in the 1 closed to the 0.5 closed? Thanks in advance!

Gone: Imagine being a viking and time travelling to 2019, only to find out this is the image people have of you lmao

olcan oktay: If this man have no beard nobody will think its a viking hairstyle

Uzair zarry: His hair was so damaged and dead but barber makes them so much better

Patrick Blackwell: I preferred the before tbh, seemed more Viking and badass.

Édipo Costa: Eu não cortaria o meu assim!

Олеся Чёрная: I wonder does Jake give lessons

Japa Alekhin Llemos: i'm just gonna [something] THE HEAD. I can see it's an actual person, but hearing "the head" makes me think he's working on just a head.

Lover: Yeah!!! Jake’s back!!!!

Anik Esh: What do you mean viking haircut? WHERE ARE THOSE BRAIDS MAN AND THE LONG HAIR? I don't approve this he was waaaaay cooler before when he did look like a viking, now he got that regular haircut

New to having hair and a beard after 20 years.

Jo Williamson: Amazing

Demna Chuxua: how is this viking hairstyle its more like regular hipster look

Jan-Andreas Lilløy Nilsen: is it just me reacting too that crooked guideline..

Matt c: I'm just imagining vikings spending more than 1 minute on their hair. haha. But I get that some men care more for their hair these days. I cut my own in the yard. One on sides and back. I don't cut the top or trim my beard.
