Leigh Lasley: Bailey I love you but I’m pretty sure that isn’t what intrusive thoughts are From my understanding and experience, intrusive thoughts are like a guy that keeps coming up to your door and ringing the doorbell / knocking / pounding on the door. That’s how I think of it anyways, mine are usually things like “you ruin everything he doesn’t even want you here why would he” “he’s not answering because someone broke in and killed him” “he had a heartattack that’s why he’s not home” “you’re useless you can’t do anything” Those are just a few examples of some of the ones I frequently experience, but they can be related to harming yourself or others, PTSD, etc. Basically, intrusive thoughts are inherently negative. I believe what you’re describing is simple impulses. Although intrusive thoughts do include impulses, not all impulses are intrusive thoughts.
