Hey everyone. My name is aga tompkins. Welcome to my channel today, i'm going to show you guys how to do a short, choppy bang and if that's, what you are looking to do then you're in the right place, stay tuned and i'll. Show you how so i've done a lot of different bang videos and i think it's time for a short choppy bang. I haven't had that kind of bang. In a while and i figured, i would show you guys how i notice a lot of the kids are doing it these days, and i bet they want to know how to get a pretty solid, yet choppy bangs. I will walk you through it, so i put on my trusty leopard print kate. I have so many capes you guys so today we'll do this one i'm going to start off by using these bangers for mar. I showed them in almost all my bang trim videos. It'S definitely one of these things that saves me during these videos because it protects my whole face from getting full of hair. So i'm going to use that first to get the bulk off and then we will go from there. I actually have to like clip them in on the side, because my forehead is really greasy, so yeah make sure you push out anything. That'S your bang like separate it! Well, so that you don't accidentally snip, something that is in a bang and also so you can make sure you grab all the hair. That is your bang that you want to get rid of. I just smudged my eyebrow, pretty good, so that'll be fun all right! That side's good this set, no, that side isn't good. Let'S try this again, it's already so dirty. My bangs actually got pretty long. This time, i've been like planning on doing it, planning on doing it every day. I put it off because i'm not gon na lie to you guys i kind of hate filming these videos because i get hair all over my face and then i have to live my life like that, because normally i cut my bangs right before i shower. So whenever i do these videos, i just have little hairs all over my face all day, which i guess is the struggle for people that get their hair cut by a hairstylist right, i'm just spoiled here. Okay, so those are all clipped in when you cut your bangs, you want to make sure you cut them dry. You don't want to cut your bangs wet because the shape changes like if you have any texture to your hair it'll, make them bounce up and just look different, so you want to style them the way that you're going to wear them. I already did that. However, you wear your bangs: if you just get up air dry them and that's how you wear them and that's how they look. That'S fine, but if you want them to be straight and choppy, then you might want to flat iron them so that they look the way you're going to want them to look, and so i have a flat iron just to show you guys, i actually. I should have done this before i put this little stuff on, but it's fine i'll just do it with it on you need to do a low heat and turn it on right before you are flat ironing, so you don't want to preheat your flat iron and Then you want to just go straight down, especially in the middle on the sides. It depends. You can kind of angle it, but it's up to you. I still kind of go straight down. You don't want to curl your bangs in you want them to be actually just flat. So that's what i'm doing here. I don't know if you guys can tell, and it still gives it like a little bump, but it doesn't curl them under because you do not want that. So i'm just going to go in and with my shears on an angle like this you're, going to start chopping into them at the length that you're trying to get make sure your eyebrows are in the position. How they're gon na look when your face is relaxed, because if you raise your eyebrows like this you're gon na cut your bangs too short, and if you go down with your eyebrows they'll be too long. So have your eyebrows in a relaxed position. When you do this, so i'm kind of going in on a side angle, and i'm just chopping into them like that you can go either direction. It doesn't matter which way so yeah there's not really a full method to the madness. Besides having your shears on an angle and that kind of takes little chunks out and makes the bangs not so straight, but obviously, as you can see when i comb them through, then it does look almost like uniform, but you can use product afterwards to kind of Piece them and make them more choppy. If you have really thick bangs, you can go in on a longer angle. This is a dangerous move, so make sure you're not doing this. If you don't know what you're doing at all uh, but you could go in a little higher like this on a less of an angle like, as you can tell like, i was like that before i'm more on a higher angle. So take your time and do less of an angle and just chop into it again once you've got the length down, so i kind of have them angled a little bit down on the edges, but i want to bring those edges up actually, so i'm going to Go in there with my shears and get those corners to be as high as the rest of the hair cool. So that's looking pretty good! I'M going to take this off now, so we can see where we're at we can check if we're, even or whatever. So i can see i have a few little hairs here that need to be chopped, and i can just make sure i get those now easy. Breezy just be careful not to cut your actual long, hair and yeah go on those corners and pull all your other hair back and get those corners cut. I'M just going to go in here and just kind of piece it out, because that little corner looked a little thick and actually it seems a little longer to me. So i'm gon na even go in there more and chop in there one of the biggest suggestions. I would give you all is if you cut your own bangs at home, which i know even many of my clients do between haircuts. It'S like one of those things where i can't stop my clients from trimming the rings it almost seems like, especially during covid. It'S one of those things where people need a trim and they're playing it safe, so sometimes they're, just kind of messing around and like i'm gon na, do this it's just my bang, um and figure. I'M not gon na leave the house for a while. I know some of my clients just honestly need a bang trim almost like every three weeks, and they don't have the time to come in so i do fix their bangs up once i see them. They'Re not perfect, usually there's little tiny things that they need to work on, but the biggest advice i would give you is buy yourself shears like do not do not use like regular kitchen scissors or something that is just not actual paper scissors. Whatever you have to use like hair cutting shears, you can buy cheap ones on amazon. I promise you they'll still be better than using any other kind of scissors. You need hair cutting shears. You can even get some at sally's or one of those places. So you know feel free, find them figure out where you can get them. If you have a friend, that's a hairstylist. My shares are like a thousand dollars: you're not going to be buying thousand dollar shears unless you are a hair stylist. But if you aren't a hair stylist, then any shears will do. The other thing is: if you have really thick hair, you can get texturizing shears they're like this and they take out little pieces. My hair is actually not that thick and i like the choppiness of it, so i like it kind of piecy and choppy like i love this little piece coming out or whatever like. If i'm going for pc bangs. I want that, so i really like them right now, and i can even you know as i wear them, i can mess with them and make them more choppy and pc and put product in them to make them look a little edgy, i'm joking, but you know What i mean and then i just kind of pinch - the little pieces, because there is longer pieces in there and there are shorter pieces in there. So when you do this, those longer pieces end up at the bottom and you can see they're like fun. Choppy short little bangs with little pieces sticking out and, like i said, just hold your shears on an angle and take your time don't rush through it. Obviously i did it real quick, but i've also been doing hair for over 15 years. So for me, i do it easily, but i think you guys can do it if you're doing it anyway, i'm not gon na stop you. The best thing i could do is give you some advice and hope this helped. You figure out how to get some edgy choppy bangs. My eyebrow looks so bad right now. I look like i have real thick ones, but like smudged, not good, it's not good. I have to go grocery shopping after this they're gon na be like. Why does that? Lady have hair over her face anyway. Yeah also, this is my favorite hairspray. If you want to i'll put a link to it down below, i honestly love it, i will put a link. You guys, can check it out. It'S amazing thank you for watching hope to see you guys back soon for another one make sure you check out my other bang cutting videos. Fernanda Garcia: Hi! Love the video! I did my choppy bangs a year ago and I did them this way but I totally forgot how I had done it until I saw your video and it was such a fun and nice refresher vid. So thank you :) Also I wondered bc I’m on a hunt for a good shampoo bc my hair seems to have thinned out a lot and I need to manage it better and get it back to thick and luscious. Do you have any suggestions? I hope to hear back from you!

Dr. Jan Taplin: the face shields people used for the virus work well because they have a band that goes all the way around your head. Or, maybe use a headband to hold it together.

Virj Scarlett: It looks so good on you, I want to try it but I realized it doesn't suit me

Felecia G. ☆ Nelia's Stitches ☆ RobloxianPlays: I need to give myself my side sweep back, I kinda miss it.

MyReasonForInsanity - Trista: You just look really good with bangs, I do NOT

xchorro: the “kids” ruined this look. it just turned super trendy and it’s the poser look esp w the mullet
