The first reason why I will never ever ever ever ever go back natural ever again is because I really enjoy wearing my hair straight. When I was natural. Keeping my hair in a straight style was virtually impossible mind you. I did not have heat trained hair I've. Never had heat trained hair, so I don't know how that would play into the part of it if my hair would have been heat trained, but my hair was not heat trained and my hair would revert almost instantly like. I would do my hair and literally I would go out. I would come back home, it would look like I did not even flat iron, my hair or do anything to my hair at all. I live in North Carolina, so we have a pretty moderate climate here. Um currently today it is it's in it's the beginning of October right now, so it's about 65 degrees today, and it doesn't really get cold cold here until like January, it stays it like it, it'll, be probably in the 50s um November and December, and then on January, beginning of January and beginning of February, that's when we start getting our 30 40 degree. Temperatures in the area that I live in so, and we have humidity here as well. So, even when I would flat iron my hair, when it was cold outside it still wouldn't last, I don't know if it was um the heat, the heat from my body that would make my hair revert. I don't know what it was. I don't know any little slight bit of moisture in the hair in the air. My hair would just find it suck it up and poof up. I could not wear my hair straight at all. I remember one time I went to the mountains. It was in February. It was cold like well, it wasn't really cold, but you know it was colder. It was February that air was drier because we're at higher elevation, my hair, is still poofed up. Like you use. You literally could not tell that. I had literally just flat ironed my hair that morning and because of that, that made me just just want to be relaxed, because I like wearing my hair, like this, I like being able to as silly as it might sound as small of a thing as it Is I really like to just be able to go outside and feel the wind literally just blow my hair? I really I love that feeling um and that's why I like wearing my hair like this, and I just like to be able to feel my hair on my shoulders fill my hair on my back. I love that my hair is getting to the length where I can actually do that now and where it can actually swing um but yeah. I I as simple as this sounds I wear my hair straight when I was natural. That was a problem. It would never. Last, when I am relaxed, my hair lasts straighter for a much longer period of time, and I really enjoy that. The second reason why I will never ever ever ever go back to being natural. Ever again can y'all till I just watched Friday. I just watched Friday and foreign y'all, I feel like I always had to have my hair in a style like I felt like. I could never just just wake up and go just get up and go like my hair always had to be in a style and because my hair always had to be in a style or because I felt like my hair always had to be in a style. My hair was always under a lot of tension, and because of that, I suffered a lot of breakage now most of my breakage primarily occurred like right here like right around. I don't want to mess up my hair, I'm sure y'all, but my my breakage occurred like primarily like right here along my edges. I'Ve shared with you guys before, where, like I would have like long hair right here and then my temples would be like bald or really short and then like right here. It would be long again, yeah, that's pretty much how my hair stayed when it when I was natural just because my hair around my hairline is really fine, and I constantly felt the need to have my hair in some sort of braided style, Twisted style, um slick Down style of some sort, because I just really just didn't want to deal with my hair, I had very thick hair, and so it was um very thick. It was very poofy, it was um longer, so it was just a lot to deal with and in order for it to look nice or look in a way that I liked for my hair to look, I would always style it. My style of choice was two braids or I would do slickback Styles like buns and stuff, like that. I would do like box braids and twists occasionally, but I really like the the very Sleek um slick back Styles and those styles with natural hair um or for my natural hair. I don't think really worked and which is why I suffered a lot of breakage, which it now I'm happy that I'm relaxed, because I don't have to worry about styling. I don't have to worry about sleeking that down. This is my style. Okay, wake up comb! Go this is my style and my hair has been thickening up in the process. I'Ve been experiencing a lot less shedding as a result of not putting so much tension on my hair. All the time and my edges are a lot thicker when I'm relaxed than they are when I'm natural, just because they have a lot more time to breathe. I don't have to put so much product on them. I don't have so much tension that I'm forcing my hair into these Styles, so being relaxed has been working for me and I will never ever go back natural as a result of this. The third reason why I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever go back natural ever again is because it was just too much work and too much planning, and I know this is probably one of the things that a lot of you can Rest resonate most with when it comes to our hair, and when I'm saying this don't get me misconstrued when and what I'm saying is too much work as relaxed hair is not a lot of work, because relaxed hair for me has been a lot of work too. It has been a huge learning curve for me as far as learning products, learning, hair techniques, styling techniques, everything um and even just the time, and the amount of time I spend on wash day. Relaxed, hair and hair in general can be a lot as well. But with my natural hair, I just found out that I had to do a lot more planning. For example, I would have to plan the nights that I was going to spend um moisturizing and sealing my hair playing. The nights that I was gon na have to retwist my hair plan. The nights that I was gon na have to redo my roller set or redo my style plan. The nights that I was yeah just gon na have to redo my style. Um anytime. I went somewhere anytime, I went on a trip I would have to plan how I was gon na. Do my hair for that trip, because I couldn't just do how I do now and just wash it and go pretty much or not to wash it just ain't. No wash and go y'all know what I mean like wash it and go throughout the week and not have to worry about restyling, my hair or having to like put my hair away. If you will, because I don't want to have to worry about it and do it over the weekend, I don't have to do that when I'm going on a trip or if I'm preparing to go somewhere. I just literally take care of my hair and wash my hair before and then I just go about my business wrap my hair and go about my business. When I was natural anytime, I would go on a trip I would have to take so much stuff with me. I have to take all these hair products. I'D have to take my moisturizing lotion. I'D have to take some oil. I have to take some gel. I have to take some edge control. I'D have to take my scarves. I have to say take my blindness. I would just have to take a lot of things, and I, on top of that, I would have to plan for the type of style that I was gon na do like. If I was going to a place with um water or something like I would have to like figure out, okay am I gon na have to do braids. Then I have to spend a whole time period, trying to braid my hair before the trip and all this type of stuff like it was just a lot. I would just a lot of my time and energy was spent around my hair when I was natural and trying to figure out what I was gon na do to it and how I could get it suitable for me, so that it would not be a burden For me for a period of time - and I know that probably sounds bad, and I know that that might not be the case for a lot of people where your hair is a burden to you. But for me at the point in life where I was at and everything else that I have going on, I just really just wanted to just kind of automate things and that really um not have to have my hair, be something that I had to think about. And that's why I love being relaxed, because my hair is automated. I don't have to think about it. I do the same process, the same routine, same style and it's one less thing off my plate. One last thing that I have to think about one last thing I have to worry about, and it just makes my life so much easier for me when it comes to my hair. The biggest thing that I think about is what type of conditioner I'm gon na use that time. Okay - and I have a line of conditioners - that I love using um and I pretty much alternate between those conditioners based on whatever my hair needs. And if I don't know what my hair needs I'll, just randomly pick, the one that I want to use and I don't have to worry and go into as much depth and energy as I did when I was natural and I've been really enjoying that about being Relaxed so I thank you, ladies so much for watching this video and, let me know, are you someone who is contemplating relaxing their hair? Have you ever relaxed your hair? Are you a natural girly? How do you feel about your hair in this current state is the? Is your natural hair working for you? Is your relaxed hair working for you? Let me know I love to just get in touch with y'all and know what's going on with y'all and how y'all are really navigating your hair journey. I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for watching and I'll see y'all in the next video

SignedNichole: The first point you mentioned. Omg. Being able to walk outside in rain/snow and your hair not frizz up is AMAZING.

Nawsha!: I honestly feel the same way lol. As a busy mom, relaxed hair is definitely working for me. I do miss my natural hair sometimes tho but I can always wear Afro texture wigs. You’re looking beautiful as always ❤

Starry Nights: Hey girl!! ❤️❤️I plan on never going back natural ever again!!! And for the same reasons you mentioned. I love it over here! Question, have you been seeing those reports as of lately about the cancer risks that come with relaxers? I’m not too worried because I feel like if we need to be concerned about anything it’s our diets! I feel like the foods they sell us are the real issue. But it was still scary to hear…

I KB: I just relaxed to after 12 years. Should have done it sooner. I agree with all your points. I found myself only being able to do puffs. Braids or covered with wigs. Alot of natural girls are constantly in braids and wigs. I just wanted to be free.

Reservechic: First of all, I just wanted to say that I am so glad that I found your channel. I love the positive energy and vibes that you give off. I also love your makeup and your hair. You are super gorgeous for real. I have absolutely no problems with the decision that you made. I would tell anyone to go with what is most comfortable for them and that best fits in to their lifestyle as well. God doesn’t shame anyone for wearing relaxed hair, so I feel why should anyone else. I definitely wish you all the best on your current relaxed hair journey. And, I certainly hope that you have a very blessed holiday season as well. ❤❤❤❤❤

LB: Great video. I think for me I prefer natural. There’s no evidence as of now how our hair or even scalp will react decades time, come the continuous use of relaxers and or perms. For me, if I wanna wear my hair straight, it’s not hard for me to get a straight wig, or straight bundles like lace frontals. Or even get my hair done in a doobie . But for the most part, I just love seeing my spirals curl when my hair gets wet, and seeing and hearing all the massive compliments about my hair texture. Idk it’s just something about black hair that’s just gorgeous to me, but again no judgement! I think it just depends on someone’s preference!

no name brown: Thank you for be honest about your pros and cons. I am relaxed and I love it went natural for two years and my hair was hard to manage, time consuming, and just to much of an hassle!!! I love being relaxed it's convenient!

QueenGoddess: I experienced prepartum hairloss and was natural for 4 years as a result. It was always an expensive hassle. My curl pattern and texture changed as it grew which meant I often had to find new products on top of protective styles that'd work. Natural hair is beautiful but it's not for everybody. My hair is so much healthier and manageable when it's relaxed!

Rosey Rose: I went on a short trip and my natural hair had its own suitcase! while "our" hair is unique as well as beautiful it does have its challenges. I believe other hair textures have challenges to.

obscure-curiosities: I plan on going back to relaxers in a few years after I grow my hair out, especially since I have a bald spot from trichotillomania during high school. I don't necessarily regret going natural since it needed a break especially since I tried (and failed) to relax my hair on my own in 2019, though I can see why my mom decided to give me a virgin relaxer when I was 4 or 5. The shrinkage, the shedding, the dryness and dandruff is just too much especially since I have 4c hair. I'm certainly fed up with wearing wigs not because of losing my edges (I actually grew them back because of wigs and don't really wear them unless I go out, and even then I'm a homebody); rather, it just makes me wish that I could go back to having my hair in a style that was more manageable and suitable to my lifestyle especially since I want to get back into being emo/scene. Speaking of lifestyles, I plan on having kids in the future and I know that their hair will probably be akin to mine even with my future husband being white. While I'll probably take my sons and daughters to a barber or salon, respectively, I still don't want to have to try and tend to their hair alongside my own until they're old enough. I give credit where credit is due to those who have the time and patience to tend to their natural hair, though I'm personally so done with my natural hair. I have a hair appointment in a few days to determine the best course of action, so here's to hoping that my hair isn't too far gone. Sorry for the tangent/rant, by the way: I just really resonated with these reasons and wanted to give my own perspective.

Cactus Flower: You just have to do what works for you. Personally , I’m 5 years natural and never had issues with the things you mentioned, I don’t touch my hair when I’m stressed, upset, sick, or on my period. I wear hijabs as a protective style but I keep my hair in bands using the banding method and I African thread my ends to keep them tucked away. If it’s bad weather you won’t see my hair out, I wear my hijab if it’s hot and humid, if it’s snowing, or really windy or if it’s smoky due to wild fires I live in the desert so I get all these weather conditions. When I travel I bring my satin pillow, silk scarf (extra protection) and a oil moisturizer lotion and water in a spray bottle. When I wear my hair in this protective style it stays in it for 2 to 3 weeks until it’s time to wash it again. If it’s dry I use a oil moisturizer lotion and rub it on and then use applicator bottle with oil to oil my scalp. I wear hijabs to keep my hair and scalp warm and moisturized from the cold weather I’m currently experiencing. It’s always been easy for me. I think people just have hand in hair syndrome lol I have coloring books which helped me not to fidget with my hair.

0tismadaline: You are looking absolutely gorgeous, l have not been natural before and l was trying on someday or years to come go natural to see how it feels thanks for sharing sweetheart

JLA M.: Newly permed again after almost 7 years. I love it

Tanya S: I love your content but honestly, you don’t need to justify what you do or how you style your hair. I’ve been relaxed for years and at my big age, I wish someone would ask me why I continue to relax my hair…lol! Cause I want to! It’s my hair… LOL . Anyway, thanks for sharing your reasons. Your hair is healthy and thriving. That’s all that counts. Everyone else should do what makes them happy.

Ashley Marie: OMGGGGG. This is calling me. I call myself "Transitioning" and I hate it. I HATE IT. My hair is so confused!!! I am new here and eating up your content!

SheRaw: Everyone has to do what’s best for themselves

Marcella Dupree: I’ve been saying this your years… about living in NC.. the dew or any moisture it’s over esp the shower. I didn’t have the patience to have it out too much work.

LadyDemigod: I agree! Some natural styles are cute but some look raggedy and unkempt. You can never see true length. Natural hair is beautiful on some women but can really be high maintenance. Your hair looks very nice.

Nyokabi: Girl I hear you hear you.

VCurls: You saying ever ever over and over again just sounds like you hate your natural hair…and that’s okay lol

Shar Love: Litterally. My life . I was tired

AFTER 40 CALIFORNIA: Excellent

akosua: I never wear straight hair styles, I actually don't like them. I also find (and y'all correct me if you have a different experience) that people who were/have been natural from birth to adult/teenage years find it very easy and effortless to be natural vs having to relax and don't have more that 2-4 products a comb and brush while those who "went" natural find it to be more work and have a closet full of products??? Is it just me? I had a relaxer from 12 to 14 and I hated it! Way too much work, too many products not easy to just wear my hair without any work. What's y'all experience?

Bored Five: Quiter lol
