Hey friends, I'm here with a wig tutorial for you today, let's unbox a wig together. Well, I already unboxed it. I just filmed my unboxing and I realized that this could be a good opportunity to show some of my new wig wearing sisters or maybe you're, not new, but you're struggling a little bit with the wig wearing Journey. How to deal with a curly or wavy piece out of the box, so first of all, this wig is tressallure Flawless waves in the color 17-23 R8, meaning it has a root now sometimes wavy and curly pieces. It can happen to straight as well, but I find it happens more often with wavy and curly pieces that have permatease they don't always look spectacular out of the box think about how it was packaged, it's nice and compact. They usually have a netting around it. Maybe there's tissue paper inside of it it's and then it's put snugly in the box so that it doesn't slide around during shipment that can compress the fibers and compress the permatease. So let me put this on for you and show you what it looks like this is out of the box. I did finger style this, so um you'll eventually get to see the unboxing, because I will tack that onto my full review of this style, which I haven't filmed yet, but I will film a review and that will be on YouTube sometime in the next few weeks. Alright, so here's how the wig looked out of the box with some finger styling, so some of the things I'm noticing you know this has a wave pattern, but it's really kind of some of the waves are smashed down. Here'S! What I do with a wig like this, that has permatease and is out of the box. The first thing that you want to do is you want to shake it out now? Remember you cannot do any of this. If you think you might return it, you really do have to assess without being able to do some of this stuff, which can make it really challenging as a new wig wearer, because you're not confident in your skills, and you don't always know if you're going to Be able to make a wig work so shaking it out is a big part of um kind of de-boxing D, compressing um the fibers another thing I like to do, especially with one a wig like this. That has a basic cap. Is I like to comb it upside down, because what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to reverse what happened when it was compacted into the box, so I'm waking up these fibers, I'm combing them out now. One thing to keep in mind: if this were a super curly wig, I wouldn't comb it out right away. I need to assess the curls and whether or not they're curls I want to comb out sometimes just finger. Styling is all you want to do with a curly wig. You could make it frizzy, you could relax the curls, but this is more of a messy wave. So I'm okay with combing them out all right, so we've shaken it upside down. Look at that guys! Don'T panic and we've combed it out and now we're going to put it back on and we're going to start to play with it and just kind of see what we have to work with here. There'S a whole lot of permatease up here and that can really get compacted. So you definitely want to wake that up. Even if you don't want it, this poofy you wake it up, and then you smooth it out so we're waking it up we're playing with it. Now because this has waves, I often like to spray my curly and wavy pieces with water, scrunch them and then hang them upside down, because I kind of like to see what the potential is with the wave pattern. If, after shaking it out and combing it out, you are happy with what you have you could be done, but I personally like to spray it down with water, I'll scrunch it up, and then I will hang it upside down to dry. For me, the scrunching just kind of helps encourage any of those curls and waves to go back to how they were first created. Since this is a synthetic wig, you can um, the style is meant to stay. The curls are baked in, but sometimes combing them out or having them live in a box can change that a little bit. So let me turn the camera I'm going to spray it over my shower and I'll show you what's next hold on all right, everybody! So here we are and what I like to do is I like to turn it upside down. I stick my fingers through the wefting just through the holes just so that I can hang on to it a little bit easier and now I like to do this over my shower, then I have to worry about getting my bathroom all wet, but then I just Start spraying it. This is just plain water and I just like to spray it really liberally and I started to shake it out as I go, and I'm just trying to make sure that I'm getting all of the fibers wet so a benefit of doing it. This way, as opposed to soaking it in water, which you could do, you could fill a sink full of cool water and soak it, but a benefit of doing it. This way is I'm not really getting the cap soaking wet. This is going to dry, really fast. Probably within 30 minutes to an hour at the most because synthetic fibers dry really fast, it's the cap that can take a while to dry. So then I shook it all out really well um. You might take a little bit of a towel. Now be careful with the friction everything you do to these fibers rubbing with a towel. Scrunching with your hands can create friction, so you want to be very gentle, but what I like to do is I'm not rubbing, I'm just squeezing a little bit of that excess water out. You could use a washcloth um because I don't want the dripping of the water to weigh down those hair, the fibers, because what I'm trying to do is see how much of that wave I can get back. So that's really all I do and I'm just sort of doing some scrunching now, because I want to encourage. I want to encourage that curl pattern. Scrunching isn't going to make this curlier than it's meant to be, but it will help encourage those curls to come back. Now I just take a laundry hook and I just hang it by the tag upside down and then I will just let it hang there and it will dry and then I'll come back and see what I've got. So, hang on I'll show you guys when it's dry, all right guys, I'm back and here is all dry it's many hours later, but this is all dry and let's put it on and see what we got: yeah. Okay! So sometimes when you spray a wig with water, and then you let it dry, it can seem a little crunchy or sometimes look a little like it's still damp. Even though it's not all you have to do is run your fingers through it sort of like. If somebody has curly hair and they use product in their hair and then it dries and it's crunchy - you just have to break the cast as it's called um, similar kind of similar. With this I actually don't even know what the back looks like. Let me look all right, so I think it's looking a lot better so now. The next step is just to sort of play with it and see how to make it my own, and because this is heat friendly, I could add curl, there's some really straight pieces. You see the wave and then you see some straight pieces. I could always add more curl to it, but I need to review it first and I just wanted to give you guys the tip for how to work with a curly or wavy wig. That doesn't look super out of the box. Most of the time. All I have to do is Shake It Out finger style. It spray it with water scrunch it up. Hang it upside down to dry, put it back on finger style, it some more and that's normally. All it takes so don't be discouraged if you get a wig that doesn't look right out of the box, just learn to work with them. Thanks for watching
