In this step-by-step, quick and easy, hair tutorial, I'm going to show you how to do a French fishtail braid on yourself, and how to make an easy, high, messy bun - also known as a top-knot or a chignon - on top of your head.
You can also wear this French fishtail braided bun as a trendy, ponytail updo.
There are two everyday hair looks - braids hairstyles - in this tutorial video.
1) Learn how to do a French fishtail braid on your crown, and then turn it into a half-French fishtail braid - cute teenager hairstyles/peinado for school - then into a voluminous, elegant, poofy, braided top knot for short, medium, or long hair.
This hair braid can be done on straight, layered, relaxed, or curly hair.

Hi everyone I'm Tina, and today I'm going to show you another way to do a braided, messy bun start off by grabbing a two-inch section and splitting in half and then simply crisscross them by taking the right section over the left. To start a French fishtail braid. Now we're going to alternate grabbing hair from the left and right and crossing them over so take some hair from the left and cross it over to the right section, see some hair from the right side and cross it over to the left section. Take some hair from the left and add it to the right strand and hair from the right side goes into the left strand and that's all there is to French fishtail braiding continue braiding until you get to the middle of your crown and then switch to a Half French fishtail braid, which means we're now only adding in hair from the right while doing a regular fishtail braid with the left, and it will look them like this. Take some hair from the left section and cross it over to the right section. And since this side is French, adding hair from the right side and cross it over to the left, section continue braiding until about here before tying it up with elastic band. Okay, so now gather all your hair into a high ponytail and tie it up. You can do this fun with one elastic, but it's easier if you use two so grab another elastic and use it as if you're making another ponytail, but on the last twist, pull it only half way through and then take the ends and wrap it around the Base of the ponytail before pinning in place and from here on, is where you're going to form your messy bun. So talk on the side, just slowly loosen up the bun and then pin down the sides with two bobby pins, tug on the front and the back to make the bun look. Fuller and Toki on the front of the bun at the base, we'll bring the bun closer to your face. Making it look, bigger and fuller also make sure your braids aren't done too tight by tugging on the braid as well. Macey bun should look kind of undone right and we're done. I love messy buns.
