Shark versus Dyson. Let the battle begin., I'm going to begin blow drying my roots, because I wan na use the barrels for both to get the best results and to accelerate the process. I want the roots, nice and dry, but leave kind of the mid to the ends slightly damp., So Shark actually has a concentrator to make sure the flow is concentrated where you actually want the flow to go or the airflow to go.. It has this 90 degree angle that you can create to create this hair dryer.. I think that's the best feature of the Shark in my opinion. And then the Dyson has this attachment. It'S a two-in-one attachment where you have the air coming out, right, here. And then at the top. You have this nozzle, you turn it and then the concentrator moves to the flyaway finisher., Which is phenomenal.. Obviously we're gon na focus on the drying portion. Today. We're gon na do the exact same heat, setting and airflow highest on both., So Andrey just tested how loud it is not tested. He just looked into our mic To see what the dB levels are. This one is roughly 25 % louder than the Dyson. Shark. ( blow dryer whirring ) Dyson. ( blow dryer whirring ). I already like the concentrator on this better.'Cause, it's a straight line.. This is smaller., I'm gon na. Do it this way. [ Andrey ], Before you finish the rest of it, which one's easier to hold This one. This one. First of all, it's extremely wobbly., I'm barely putting force, and if you move it like this ( blow, dryer rattling ), you can hear it wobbling and it's kind of I don't know it's ... The 90 degree angle. I like it better for the barrels. Instead of the attachment for the concentrator., This is so much easier. [ Andrey ]. So what has more airflow This does.? It'S a lot more powerful and it feels hotter as well in comparison to the Dyson. ( blow dryer whirring, ). Okay, my hair is, I would say, it's at least 85 90 % dry. I have my trusty continuous water, spray. ( spray, hissing ), ( Milana, blowing ). I have a little bit of my IGK Prep Spray. And now, let's begin curling'ze hair.. So here we go.. We have the Shark, and this is the Dyson.. This is the long version. Dyson also has more it's kind of like this size right here, where it's a little bit shorter for shorter hair. But same size. The only difference is Shark. Has two barrels just like the Dyson original had so you need to have both of them to create waves for one side of the head., But you could just on one side. You could just hold it like this. On the other side, you could hold it like. This., That's what I did with my Dyson. And then Dyson the new attachments that are upgraded re-engineered. You have the nozzle at the top to twist and it changes the direction of the flow for the Coanda technology. And both use Coanda technology. We're gon na hold them for even amount of time. Hot and cool shot. We're gon na hold it for 30 seconds. Each section just to make sure we get similar or hopefully similar, results., It's a little too dry, so I'm just gon na lightly mist, both sides. We're gon na start, first wrapping it up and see which one has the better Coanda technology.. My least favorite thing about the Shark so far the controls are right. Here.. I wish they were all right here with the cool shot, button. ( blow dryer whirring ) [ Andrey ], So you were saying that right away that felt really hot Yeah. Look at my ear. ( laughs, ) ( blow dryer whirring ), It's not damp enough.! That'S better., Meh, it's fine. Very similar. So what are the differences? You notice right away: (, chuckles, ), Very quiet, very loud.. That'S the biggest difference. They're, both very hot, but this one feels hotter., Maybe because there's a lot more airflow coming out.. Okay, now I'm gon na. Do it my way. The way I like to do. Do or use the Air Wrap Do-do ( giggles ) This one. I like getting the 90 degree'cause I'm gon na go down instead of up.. I find that it works better for my hair type.. I like that it doesn't overlap itself as much because you kind of guide it around the barrel. ( blow dryer whirring ) ( blow dryer whirring ). You guys see how easy this is. The controls are right, there. Right at my fingertip.. I don't have to think about it. [ Andrey ], Pretty similar. Nice. Woo hoo. Let me continue doing this for the rest of my head. [ Andrey ]. Did you get a feel so far, which Coanda effect is stronger? I think they're both even.. The only thing I will say it's smoother with the Dyson because it doesn't have these ridges., You see how it has these 3D ridges for the airflow to go And look at the difference.. The Dyson is very smooth on your hair, so I feel like it's a little bit more, even it kind of sucks it a lot more around the barrel.. This one has a little bit more air going through the hair. Just out., So I don't know.. I don't know which one is better honestly., But this one because it sounds more powerful and it's hotter or it feels hotter. This one might have a lot more air coming through. ( blow dryer whirring ) [ Andrey ]. So I noticed that you are running out of real estate on that barrel. Cause it's shorter. ( blow dryer whirring ), ( spray, hissing ) Woo Dampened my face. ( laughs, ) ( blow dryer whirring ) ( blow dryer whirring ) ( blow dryer whirring ) Hold On. Yep. Turned my heat off. We're back on track. (, chuckles ), We're gon na open up a window in here. Are y'all still with me: ( laughing ) With the last sections left. ( blow dryers, whirring ) ( blow dryer whirring ) Last one. ( blow Dryer whirring ), Okay, we're gon na. Let this really set cool off, even though we did use cool shots for both sides. But still my scalp is hot. On both sides., It's warm., It's warm.! I was really curious. What'S longer, The body is longer on Shark, but they're the same size. Look at that. With the long attachment it's the same. Size. Dyson is a little bit easier to hold versus the Shark ,'cause. The Shark is a little bit. Wider. Dyson is skinnier. All right. Let'S go through some of the facts., The differences similarities price. All that good stuff.. Let'S start with the price for Shark. $ 249, is their most affordable option and you can choose three different attachments out of the five. Versus Dyson. You can only buy like a complete package for long hair for fine hair, I think also for like coily curly hair. And each one offers six different options., I'm gon na say six, but it's technically seven with the multi styler., So seven different attachments for $ 599.. So $ 600 versus $ 250., The more expensive one they have. I think it's for $ 269 and you get the five attachments.. You can either choose more for the fine straighter hair or the curlier coily hair, and I think they offer the diffuser in that one. And in this one you get more of the concentrator for my hair style or my hair type, which is more fine and more Straight. And then for Dyson. This right here is what I'm saying it's a two in one., So you get the concentrator on this side and then, when you turn the nozzle, you get the smoothing flyaway attachment. Plus most of the attachments they offer a mini or smaller version. More thinner version for shorter hair. And they also came out with a barrel. That'S thinner for 0.8 inches diameter.. This one here is 1.2 inches Shark is 1.25 inches.. So there's a little bit of a difference., As you can see right now, even Dyson has more of a tighter curl or wave versus Shark has more of a looser wave. [ Andrey ]. So altogether, Dyson has 13- 13 attachments that you can choose. From. [ Andrey ], And you can also use all your old attachments from the older versions. Yep.. Then Shark has- Five total., I'm hoping they're gon na come out with more., I'm sure they will right, I'm sure they will.. I'M excited for the other attachments. [ Andrey ] And pretty much the only one that they truly copied was the Coanda effect the barrel. That'S it., Yes., Because everything else, let me just show you this right here. This brush is very unique to Dyson because it also uses the Coanda technology and it moves with the direction of the flow where, whichever way you have the direction of your brush attachment going, that's where the air is going to go, resulting with less frizz and flyaways, Which is awesome. The older one doesn't really have this good technology.. This one is great, really great.. Now, let's talk about the safety.: How safe are these tools for your hair, So they're both claiming to be very safe? That'S the whole purpose of buying something like this. Investing into a styler that dries and styles your hair at once.. That way you don't have to use excessive heat., So Dyson does say that they use or they don't go above 302 degrees Fahrenheit. So, in my opinion, this is pretty safe, but it still feels very hot. On the scalp. Shark doesn't have any kind of specific ..., They don't specify their highest temperature, but they do claim to be very safe. And the one thing I will say about temperature and controls right now, because we're talking about temperature Shark does offer one extra heat. Setting which I think is great., So when you turn this on this red button, that's the control., So you have 1 2. 3. Dyson. When you turn this on, the temperature is right: here. You only have two, you have a low and then a high., And then this blue little circle is the cool shot and then you have an extra-cool shot for when you use the barrels. So that way, it's very easy and very convenient with the controls. Yeah. That'S great.! That'S a big bonus.! I think perfect for people that have very coarse, very thick type of hair that need that extra heat.. Okay next thing I wan na mention.. I already mentioned this in the video a couple of times where you have the controls. The Dyson. I honestly think they thought this through of where you're gon na hold it, how you're gon na hold it. - And I haven't since I purchased this when was this Whenever they came out., But even with the original one. I only hit this a couple of times, but then I just kind of held it right here, because you're using the cool shot most of the time after you wrap the hair., The controls are in a very convenient spot.. You just need your one hand and you're good to go., But with Shark, it's honestly, very inconvenient and very frustrating, because I changed the heat setting multiple times without me noticing and I'm like ,'' Wait. It feels pretty cool and not as warm.''. I just wish this was all ( tongue clicks, ), higher right here. And it's not in the way of the hair, dryer or the 90 degree angle., It's all right here.. It would be really nice and convenient in my opinion. Very similar to this.. They both have the same mechanism.. You have to press this down to unlock and then lock back up so very similar.. This is the one thing, in my opinion: that's putting an edge on a Shark for the ergonomics. Ergonomics. (, laughs, ) Ergonomics.. This is so great, especially if you use the barrel like I am going down., It's so easy. Very similar for the filters. This one. It feels a little cheaper and you have to put a lot more force into it, and it has these little sides where you have to slide it back. In. Make sure I don't break it. Dyson, it's very easy and it has a little magnet it just pops itself right back in place.. What else? What else can we talk about? How heavy That's where we checked yesterday. Shark was heavier by like 0.05 ounces. Dyson is a little bit lighter. And you can actually feel it. it's a slight difference, but you can feel it. One little mention about the Dyson attachments. All of these new re-engineered attachments. You can buy them separately., One of them. If you just want a specific one like I really want the 0.8 inch just to see how tight the curls I can, how tight I can get them. I believe they're all 39.99., The original ones you can use with your new one and back and forth.. I think that's great., They're, all interchangeable. And one other thing. One little thing: I'm gon na nitpick Dyson comes with its own case, a beautiful case to store all of your attachments in here with a lid. Ooh. ( lid, thudding ). I just have it open'cause, I was using the attachments. And Shark doesn't and they don't even have an option to purchase a case which I think would be great to have a case for all of your attachments to have them all stored neat, and just even you Know presented on the vanity.. Why not? I just thought: I'd mention that. And every Air Wrap does come with its own case to have a place to put all of the attachments in. All right. Let me ..., I'm gon na run my fingers through my hair.. Let me actually see what it looks like before I do. That.. Okay, that looks good.. It'S very consistent. It'S still a lot of movement. Shiny bouncy, not frizzy., Love, it., There's a difference, but it's a little bit tighter on this side.. They look both very beautiful, not frizzy, very shiny, very bouncy. I mean you can see that a lot of movement. Beautiful.. Obviously this up here I could use the smoothing flyaway attachment, but I'm just gon na leave it ,'cause. That'S all my new baby hair., My new baby growth from my postpartum. ( laughing ), We're proud of these. ( laughing ). All right, you guys. I hope this video was helpful.. I wanted to demonstrate as much as possible and I'm excited.. I am really hopeful for Shark for other hair attachments and just the technology that they're using. And I'm really excited and happy that they're offering something a little bit more affordable than Dyson, which comes at $ 600.. One thing It would be great if both brands offered just this. And then you can purchase whatever other attachments you want. T3 did it…. Why can’t you guys do it Next video Shark versus REVLON. [ Andrey ], Because they copied their attachment… You’re the same but you’re different. I’m excited for this. They're, both falling out. Dyson is still tighter.. Shark is more loose.. Both beautiful. We're back home from the dinner that we went to at Southall Farm & Inn, It's out in Franklin.. It'S an incredible place. But they're doing this dinner outside That they cook over a live fire., But I'll show you guys the footage here.. It was incredible.. So I took a shot right before I went to dinner and then I had Andrey take footage of my hair at the dinner. So, like I said it was outside., So we were outdoors since 6:30 until after 10:30 - And this is what my hair looks - like. Not Bad.: Okay, let's start with Shark., There's a little bit of a bend happening, but it's it's gone., There's a little bit more of a bend on the Dyson side., But, to begin with, the Dyson was a tad bit tighter., Just because the barrel is a little bit Smaller, I thought for sure that it was gon na fall out Well before Shark, just because it didn't feel as hot and it didn't feel as the air didn't feel as strong as the Shark.. But there you guys have it. Just a quick little comparison, one to one at the end of the day and there's still something there., I'm pretty impressed that my hair still looks very smooth, very shiny., There's still quite a bit of movement happening.. It feels great. It looks good, but again I didn't apply any kind of product to help with the longevity to prolong the waves curl., I didn't use any kind of mousse gel.. All I used was my leave-in conditioner and my nourishing leave-in treatment. Two products that I've been using for a long, time., REVERIE and IGK, and both of those they don't really prolong or make my curls last longer.. It'S just more of a nourishing leave-in treatment, type of a thing.. I'M sure, if you add like hairspray, something to add a little bit more texture into the hair or like a fine, lightweight mousse, to add a little bit more hold and flexibility into the hair.. But yeah, I thought this was great to see one to one and to really experience both tools. But again I'm gon na say one more time. I think Shark is it's a great option that wants something that Dyson offers at a lower cost, a slightly more affordable. Again $ 250 versus $ 600., I'm gon na it leave here.. Thank you for watching spending time with me and I'll see you in the next one. Bye. ( Blows kiss )

Brittany Stacey: This was the first launch with Shark. They will make things better depending on the customer reviews/ complaints. The dyson had to do the samething. Because obviously the dyson had more negative complaints when it first launched and they had to change multiple things. The price difference already makes shark better in my opinion.

Melanie Pack: I absolutely love my Dyson, even if I don’t want the curls, using the other attachments gives me this Salon blowout look. I am not regretting spending the money. But I am glad they made a more affordable version and it seems like Shark is holding up pretty good against the Dyson.

Sydney Allen: I love my Dyson Airwrap(new version) but I think the Shark one is an amazing alternative. I’m sure it will improve with time just like Dyson has. I hope Dyson starts to reconsider their pricing thanks to their competition. It is extremely overpriced.

Here for the Plants: I liked that you measured the barrels! For some reason everyone tests the Shark 1.25 to the 1.6 Dyson when the 1.2 Dyson is closer in size.

Lauren Hall: The smaller barrel accounts for the tighter curls on the Dyson side (at least partly). The curls looked way better on the shark side.

Serra Bird: Great comparison. I love my Dyson Airwrap, but I’m happy to see a more affordable option in the market. Shark looks good from the price point, but I love the sleekness and ease of use in Dyson and it really makes the hair feel much healthier in the long term. I find it holds the style for days on my hair and my hair grew a lot faster and looks healthier. I prefer Dyson for the quietness alone, as 25% higher dB is a huge difference and it irretrievably damages the ears at such a close range. I hope Shark 2.0 refines its snags, especially the attachments and the loudness.

Douglas Andrews: I have been waiting for a cheaper option that is actually of quality. I just can't justify the price point on the dyson for myself, personally. Both results look great to me. I think im going to end up buying the shark for myself.

Fernanda Olivares: Thank you for this video, especially for documenting how your hair looked like at the end of the day! I really want to like the Shark, but IMO it does feels like the Dyson (this model in particular) performs better in terms of heat, overall usability, and results, which are all key points when you plan on using it long-term. Plus the colors and cases are soooo pretty I think the price difference is justified when you take all of these into account - but the Shark is definitely a very close second!

B Flyer: One of the main selling points of the Dyson is that the temperature is regulated so that it doesn't cause damage to your hair. I appreciate that Shark may dry faster because it's hotter, but I really would prefer to take a couple of minutes more with the Dyson and protect my hair.

Amber Jones: Thank you for comparing them !! I’m a single mom with a 15yr old daughter who styles her hair everyday- the price point alone is a selling factor for the Shark system …. Can’t wait to try it!

SweetZuni: The price of the Shark makes it a winner to me.

Ana: Based on reviews I have seen, it seems Dyson is slightly better. However, just on the price alone, I think I would get a Shark. I find Dyson's products excessively expensive....

Dezarae I: As a professional hair stylist, I would never purchase an expensive blow dryers. But they would All the last up to a year and 1⁄2. I bought the Dyson about 3 years ago and it is still going strong. I notice the difference on my clients hair. I especially noticed a difference on the ones who purchased it for at home use. It's great that shark came out with something comparable with a better price point but I would like to see the long-term effects and the warranty. Cause of this point I would purchase Dyson over and over again Knowing what it has done For my clients and how long it has lasted. I can't wait to finally purchase the flat iron is well

Blake Deadly: I love her reviews- they are very informative and helpful. She gets down to the nitty gritty

sandrine delgenes: I like the way you compare these 2 products including the noise, airflow, hair care and results. Also I enjoy the questions coming along while in the process of hairdrying. Thank you guys ❤

Haley Gates: People who already own the Dyson feel the need to justify their purchase by saying it works so much better. Differences like the button placement or the attachments are just that… differences. It’s also less than half the price and does an amazing job, I personally think it wraps better and easier around the barrels. Is Dyson better, or do you think you’re better bc you spent $600+ on a BLOWDRYER?

Lucas Official: I’m going to hold off and get the Shark 2.0 It seems like a running theme after the initial launch brand’s release a slightly updated version. Hopefully they will listen to feedback and move the buttons

Bonnie Anderson: Great comparison! I am a Dyson fan but the Shark does look promising!

Mia Bell: I tried the dyson yestetday night, was standing for 50 mins trying all the tips, with mousse and spray and not touching the curles and cold shots and rapping it till the roots, went to sleep with tight curles and woke up this morning with straight hair, no curles or wavinesd what so ever...

Lalla: I wanna say that these tools aren’t designed the way people think. As a biomed engineering students, product development for the beauty industry aren’t that serious. The dyson “technology” isn’t that ground breaking. It’s a temperature sensor programmed to regulated the air flow to stay in between 2 variables. As for the differences for the design like the control bottins being at the bottom, it’s probably because they are trying to not get sued. 8 differences in the physical product need to be visibly observed for shark to be safe. I can spot colour, button position, number of button, number of settings, size of the tools and the number of attachements.

Allison Hernandez: The Shark is also meant to be an actual blowdryer, from what I read, hence it makes sense that it gets hotter.

xsipix: I find it weird that the options in the us are different from the uk. Here we can only buy the shark as one set bundle and it comes with a case, the filter is also not removable on the base of the handle. The Dyson set up seems to be similar both sides of the pond though

Ria Kendall: I'm holding out for the shark 2.0, just like Dyson they will listen and make the necessary improvements!

Aakriti Bhardwaj: Shark came in a case for me. Bought it in the UK. Really nice and portable!

Jane Peters: I think you are always partial to Dyson. I have the Shark and love it and it's half the price of the Dyson. I had a Dyson that never worked right. I think the Shark is better!

Julie Lyons: Shark does have a beautiful carry case that zippers closed and has a nice handle plus the Sharks carry case has better storage compartments then the Dyson. I think that Shark will update their hand held dryer as far as the button placements go. Both are very good products, but not everyone can afford a $500 in some cases $600 dryer. So I think the Shark is perfect for someone on a tighter budget. Thank you for the review.

Cynthia F: Thank you for this comparison! I’m definitely going to go with the shark. I mean I couldn’t afford the dyson anyway, but as a single mother the cost of the shark is much more manageable and the results and ease of the handle make it a winner for me.

Lindsay Caruso: I bet shark will release more attachments. It took dyson a little while to do that after their first release, but since shark is obviously trying to dupe, I bet they are already in the works. I definitely will be picking up the shark because even if it has a few flaws, for less than half the price it is a no brainer. Also on other things like vacuums I prefer shark to dyson so I trust the company

Ash: Thanks for doing this video. I was considering buying the Shark version for my mom for Christmas because she has mobility issues. I am wondering if it would be too heavy for her, but I'll do some more digging

Monse: I had wanted the dyson for years and had reluctantly gone for the shark due to the price and now I want to cancel it based on the curls falling out so fast on that side

Phoenix1111: I tried both of the hair dryers and honestly both lacked the precision and left my hair absolutely frizzy. The standard blow dryers gave me a better blow dry without having to use products which makes my already oily hair worse. I didn't even end up trying the Dyson curling wand but now you're making me reconsider...lol Does Dyson have an option for thick wavy hair? There are many reviews from users saying the curls did not last long. Have you checked how long they last? Thank you

GhostieGirl: How long does it take to do your whole head? What is the cord length on both and were there any issues with twisting or binding?

Dixie's Mom: I have the Shark dryer, and I love it ! Paid 175 at Costco. I had been contemplating getting the Dyson for quite a while, but so glad I saved over 200.00.

Peony: I enjoyed your review esp on the technical side measuring loudness and length, and heat flow, etc. I look forward to seeing the Revlon comparisons . I wonder if they plan to do a holiday gift set and include a case with that and maybe extra attachment or the additional attachments may come later but I could definitely see a case coming for the holidays

Amanda Jessup: Would love to have the Dyson, but can't justify $700 for a hairdryer. Shark will definitely win, but will wait for updates.

Grace: I'm glad they've made something affordable, but I love my Dyson, no regrets on the price. Like it's so good another company copied it right down to the barrels. People keep complaining re heat on Dyson, but it dies get pretty hot but generally I prefer that the Dyson doesn't overheat/burn your hair and still delivers an excellent result like thats the whole point. Heat isn't a reflection of air flow, Dyson airflow is amazing. It always gives this amazing Salon look. From the experiment the Dyson curls held up longer. Bottom line, buy what suits you no one should go bankrupt over hair. But the Dyson will always be my choice.

bnb0510: I think I would get really frustrated with the Dyson not grabbing my hair. For the cost that thing should work perfectly! Edit: After watching the video the Shark side looks better imo.

RTC PhotoWork: I wonder how much being used to the Dyson controls before using thr Shark plays into how you feel about the Shark button placement.

Karen Crawford: I just bought it in the UK and it came with a case. Not as nice as the Dyson one but still very useful! Great review

A N: Even during the video I felt like the Shark side was loosening up faster.. I know the curls were tighter on the Dyson to start with, but it didn't budge at all, whereas Shark side was almost down to very loose waves towards the end there.

Diane Lewis: For half the price I can definitely live without a case (just another item to figure out where to store it anyway) and it being 25% louder. I’ve had it a couple of weeks and am enjoying it so far!

Tânia Santos: The Shark in the UK comes with all 5 attachments, and also a black fabric case and the colour is black and rose gold… I don’t know why those differences but check it out.

Jody Knapp: I own the Dyson, yes I had to save up but I am really happy with it. The heat does not damage my hair and I would not like the curls falling out so fast with the shark. I completely understand that some people can’t afford the Dyson.

Kara Richter: I actually think the Shark side looks better!

Evelyn Aguilar: Hi, thank you for the thorough review! There’s another tool besides the Shark that looks promising, have you seen/tried the Luxxe Air Pro2? It is also around $300 just like the Shark. Could you do a comparison video between the two??

V: This seems very bias towards the Dyson from the onset. We can literally see how the Dyson isn’t grabbing the hair as well as the Shark and yet the review seems to be stating otherwise?!

Ashkenia Sims: I love your videos! Not only are they informative but very entertaining.

Brooke Gustafson: Normalize NOT spending 700$ on a hair dryer. I'm sorry but nooooooo.

Hanna-Stina Ahlzén: Sound is measured in decibels, which is on a logarithmic scale. So the shark may be 25% dB louder, but that the actual sound is way louder. An increase by 10 dB means that the sound is 10 times louder. An increase of 20 dB means that the sound is 100 times louder.

Daniel D.: You lift more and put more shoulder strain with the dyson, I noticed. That, in the long run, you will start to feel. That's why you like the pivoting angle of the shark

Amanda: As someone with Asian hair, I wouldn’t buy these because even with regular curler by few hours my hair just goes flat even with products haha I would love to test them but not worth the price for me.

hellymonster: This is the first video I've ever watched of yours and I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the time and effort put in. It's really helped me in my Shark or Dyson conundrum. I'm thinking Dyson!

Fiona Darragh: I really enjoyed the comparison with these hair tools. Both sides look lovely !

Alexes: Yes! I'm so excited. Honestly for me the $600 price was always to absurd in entertaining the thought of ever ACTUALLY getting i mean over DOUBLE my car payment for a hair dryer!? Nah but the 250 price is much more comparable I feel for this kind of dryer. Obviously dyson was the only one on the market to have this kind of technology so they could charge whatever they want with no competition. But now they have REAL competition. And just like dyson did they will make improvements and uprage it as needed after listening to customer feedback. And honestly I like shark products over dyson. I bought a dyson vaccume for like 400ish crapped out after 1.5 years with mostly hard floor use my shark is a BEAST AT 230 more suction more durable, longer laster better on carpet and on upholstery. And is going on 2 years like it's brand new.

lauren skubish: What i learned is that all curls fall out by the end of the day no matter how much you spend

TheTaxburden: The shark isn't going to come with the case bc it's hundreds cheaper. Asking for the extras will only bump up the price.

Esbysbg: I saw another review and the suction to wrap the hair on the barrel was way stronger and stayed within the barrel and not the tip with the Shark.

Desislava Atanasova: Im unsure what’s the race about those stylers when a blow dryer and a 33mm brush makes your hair look tighter and lasts until you wash it- for me it’s 5-7 days. The Dyson on me lasts about a hour or two and I didn’t keep it. Yes it’s easy to use mostly comparing it to blow drying your own hair, but it does not last. It takes me around 90minuted to blow dry my hair (I’m a beginner) but it ends up looking flawless and lasts me a week… so the time and effort is worth it. Also much cheaper. Dyson is great for fine hair I think mostly if you have to wash it often due to oily roots, but mine is thick and I can’t imagine doing my hair more than once- twice a week anymore..

DianeN: I am loving my Shark, super fun getting to know the tools for my Asian hair. Price was no brainer, had to get it!

Hannah Kerry: My shark came with a case ‍♀️ with a carry handle which is great. I think I prefer my Dyson though but I’ll give the Shark a few more times.

Alyna Waters: Dyson all the way. Looked better from beginning to end of day, less noise, and honestly I think it will last longer. I’m not into buy, buy, but so one thing that will last me years, or a decade or more is worth it to me. I have a Dyson vacuum that’s 10 years old, bet my air wrap will last too.

SaeChioOh: This review was awesome! I’d rather pay for quality. This really helped my decision. Thank you!

Joanna Wang: i’m loving the slightly tighter curls look you got with the dyson… my hair never gets long enough to get that effect

Deborah Potter: Do you have any info on what the shark weighs as opposed to the Dyson ?

ZenMaster: Being a licensed professional, I don't know. I think the average person could get some really good use out of either, but knowing how to use a blow dryer and a round brush, and the lasting power of an iron, its so hard to make that leap. I would be more willing to try the Shark over the Dyson, but gosh I don't know...maybe one day. It's so hard for us stylists to stray from our holy grail tools!

Oonagh72: The shark side actually looks slightly shinier. After the blow dry it was less frizzy

Kristy Reynolds: I saw a nice travel case for the Dyson on Amazon. It could be used for the Shark.

elizabeth gutierrez: Finally a cheaper alternative. I always wanted to buy the dyson but the price tag

Lauren Prost: This was an excellent comparison, thank you!

inga.istisch: In other comparison videos they had a case from Shark to ‍♀️ so there is a case. thank you for comparing them!

J P: Thanks for the comparison! How dry is your hair when you curl it? And do the barrels get really hot? I'm afraid of burning my fingers.

VivaLa GeeGee: I was leaning towards the Shark because of the price but your curls look amazing with the Dyson.

P Andrews: That case. Is probably an adds an additional 50 dollars to the Dyson. I could go without it as there are plenty of storage options. I honestly don’t feel or see that the curl stays in your hair. Could be the weather but not impressed with the staying power of the curls

Jocelyn K: The Dyson always needed finger flicks to get it to wrap around the barrel

Joanna Chapman: Thank you so much for your time making this video. How often do you use the nourishment you used in this video?

Jolene Crosby: The Uk launch it comes with a really nice case that is better than the Dyson case imo because it has a handle and zips open in the middle to give two sides.

PJ Simon: I saw another brand on Amazon last night when I was sleep-scrolling. Price wise it was about the same as the Shark.

Sandra Rhodes: Don’t you just appreciate when a YouTuber delivers?! ❤

Krummalumm: I think in a professional setting the Dyson wins but for at home use I’d get myself a shark.

Infinitely ASMR: How does the mechanism to click the attachments in compare? I find my Dyson has little “teeth” that click in which wobble over time

Alexa Aday: The review we've all been waiting for!

Rachel Hannan: Soph tested out the Shark the other day and the one she had came in a case, so I’m not sure if you buy the more expensive option if it comes with it or not?

Jennifer Guzman: The curls are so beautiful! My birthday is in December so I told my husband if you get me ANYTHING please let it be the Shark! Lol. So hopefully it's under my tree or at my birthday dinner lol

mammie19621962: I'd rather buy my own case for the SHARK than to pay $600! ‍♀️

starfish8D: you always do the best reviews! thank you!!

Xaiomy: There’s a black version of the shark (I think it’s available on eBay) that does have a travel/storage case

renee fenn: I invest in Dyson. I trust Dyson more than another brand with my hair bc their items seems to last much longer w/ my wear & tear, & bc patient customer service is very, very important to me. Not only are their helpful tutorial videos great, but so is reaching out to Dyson by phone when I have had trite questions over the yrs!

CobraDove: Wow, the Shark side looks WAY better. And I’m not paying $600 for a hair tool. Just no.

jaeves007: Man. I just got the Shark and the curls last about 2 hours - that's it. Any help/tips?

Loren Marie: Shark does come with a case! I’ve seen it in other videos

no one: I watched a review on a british channel (soph does life) and she said the exact opposite about the bag, that the dyson does not have a travel bag but shark has. Interesting

Fiffola123: Ladies, are we really pretending that it's ok to pay this sort of money, for a curl that barely makes it past lunchtime?? I can get heatless curls to last until I wash my hair, and an old Remington wand that is half the time and $20, with curls or waves that last days, even sleeping on it... Until Dyson OR Shark sort out their longevity issue, they can't have my money!!

Sole Fernandez: This is the comparison we all wanted and needed. I think dyson is still the champ.

Alexandra: shark styler is NOT available in Australia- so many people have contacted them including me and getting the run around (yet manufactured here) so get the dyson don't waste your time.

Eva S Raley: I wonder if your hair is a little wetter on the shark side it it would work better since it is hotter. Honestly I have never bought any shark products. I have bought Dyson but after years discover that it was not worth the price at the start. Since dyson has two types now, I will probably get the shark and give it a go. My hair is for sure not as long as yours but I do have more wavy natural hair. Thanks for the test. Hopefully someone with shorter hair will do a test.

Allyson Davies: The shark has got a case and I have owned both and the shark wins big time. The Dyson is a bit too dear .

Gale Em: I find if something goes wrong with dyson, they go “oh well” and that’s all you get. I bought a $500 vacuum and it barely lasted 2 years. Never ever any dyson product again. Overhyped

Viki S: The shark one does have a nice travel case as well as I saw at another YouTubers video

Laurie S: For that price, I’d think the curls/waves would at least last a full day. Maybe it’s the climate where you live ‍♀️ I’ll stick with my devacurl hairdryer and my conair 1 1/4 inch barrel curler. Before curling I spray with the Eva NYC 10 in 1 and my waves last a solid 3-4 days and start to loosen the last few.

Cindy: Can’t believe I was going to spend so much money for a Dyson. I’ll just get the Shark instead
