Testing The Hairitage Go With The Flow 2-In-1 Styler On Thick, Wavy Hair

Today I wanted to test a new drugstore hair tool: a flat iron and curling iron combo from Hairitage by Mindy. The Hairitage Go With the Flow 2 in 1 Styler seems like the best travel hair tool since it claims to both straighten and curl all hair types, and is dual voltage! I'm testing it on my thick, wavy hair to see if it can get the job done. I've never been good at flat iron curls, so hopefully this can help me achieve smooth and polished curls!

#hairtools #curlingiron #flatironcurls

Over the past few years, with some exception, I've really stopped heat styling, my hair, so I've been out of the loop on the newest hair tools at the drugstore, but when I saw the Heritage two in one Styler, I was like. I need to try that this two-in-one Styler is a straightener and a curler. All in one now hold up, because I know someone's gon na comment. Miranda, you can make curls with a flat iron already. I don't know how y'all do it. I really don't I've tried. So hard to use a straightener to create curls, and I think it's like the clamping down and the turning my wrist just does not cooperate. I always end up with like Kinks and weird flat pieces, so that's never really been an option for me, but this Styler features two titanium plates which can be used to straighten your hair, but the rounded edges also make it easy to curl your hair. So this highly piqued my interest, especially for my personal hair needs. As you can see, I have wavy slash curly hair. I have a little bit of frizz on top, so I do want some flattening and smoothing while I'm achieving my curls and just putting my hair in a curling iron alone is not really going to get that smooth and Polished look, so I will be putting the Hair Heritage two in one Styler to the test, both for straightening and curling - let's just get straight into it, but first, if you're new here hi, my name is Miranda. Welcome to my channel, where we talk all things: budget Beauty. If that sounds interesting to you, then become the newest member of the slashed Squad by hitting subscribe and the bell icon. As I brush my hair, you can see that I have a lot of it. I have a lot of thick hair, finding hair tools that really give me the look that I'm going for can be a little tough. Some of them just can't handle it. I am also going to be applying the Heritage play it. Cool heat, protectant spray. I did a whole video about the Heritage hair care products a few weeks ago, and I didn't realize how divisive the brand is. Based on the comments of that video, as well as a tick tock that I mentioned Heritage in it seems like you, either really love or really hate the brand. I don't know so. I'Ve been a fan so far. I'Ve only tried this a few times. The only thing that I don't like is the sprayer, it's like only on stream mode now, something that I didn't mention before is that, aside from this being a straightener and curling iron, all in one, this also has a built-in fan. So, as you are straightening or curling, it is supposed to simultaneously set your style and add shine. So let's start preheating this tool, I'm just going to press power. It starts at 330 degrees Fahrenheit. I am going to go to 420.. That is the max. It only took about a minute to preheat we're not blinking anymore, so I think we're ready to go and I am going to test out the straightening first on this front piece. So it's a little bit opposite of what I'm used to because usually with a straightening iron you're clamping down, but with this one you're, just letting it stay closed by default and running it through your hair. Okay, that's one pass. Okay, there's definitely still some wave to it at the bottom. I almost feel like the pressure that it has closed. Isn'T enough, like, I really want it pressing on my hair, which I guess I can do by holding it the other side like this, but that's not not what we're supposed to be doing is this fan really doing anything, though, because, like my hair is still very Much warm okay! I need to go over this part again. Okay, it's not bad! I don't feel like this fan does much actually I'm barely feeling airflow and it's certainly not like cool air, so that part's a little uh a little sus all right. So that took like three four passes: to really get to a point where I feel like it's styled straight: let's try to straighten another strand now that we're kind of getting the hang of it. Okay, there's not there's not a ton of wave here, but you can definitely see some toward the end, so it really shouldn't be a hard job for this tool. Yeah. It just feels very loose like as I'm running it through my hair. It does not feel like it's really putting pressure. Okay, not bad! It'S not bad. If you have slightly straighter hair than mine, like your curls are a little bit looser or it's more like frizz you're. Trying to take care of, I feel like this would take care of that easily and smooth and straighten, but this is marketed toward all hair types and I don't think if you have like ringlet curls anything over 3A. I don't know if this is gon na be heavy duty enough to really straighten okay. Let'S turn this fan off, though, because I really don't think it's doing anything. So there is a fan button on the front where you can turn off the fan and just use the heat properties of this tool, I'm on the fence so far, I feel like it'd take a long time to get through. All of this I'm gon na go ahead and actually start styling. My hair, though, because I wanted to mostly do like a curled style. Okay, we are still on 420, although we are not using the fan anymore. Okay, clamp and rotate see. This is giving me more tension, as I rotate like this, so I feel like it's smoothing and straightening this a lot easier already. Oh okay, now wait just a second, that's a pretty curl. Okay, let's keep going! This is a slightly bigger section. I just kind of want to see how far I can push this. I have so much hair. It takes me forever to style if a tool can't take more than an inch at a time. Okay, we're doing. Okay, we're doing okay, oh okay, so it definitely still works with the bigger sections. It'S just a looser curl, I'm feeling a little bit more hopeful. Let'S try a curl with the fam on actually I'm seeing steam, but that's the heat protectant. That'S not my hair burning. I mean, I don't think that's any better than the one we did without the fan, though, also, whenever I'm doing my hair, just in normal life, I'm usually watching a television show so to have that fan in my ear the whole time would be kind of annoying. I like these now, one of the main draws of this tool for me was not only having it be: a two-in-one Styler kind of replacing a flat iron and a curler in one really nice for small spaces, just streamlining Etc. But I thought that this could also be the perfect travel hair tool because it is dual voltage. What that means is that you can travel to another country and plug this in without being worried that it will explode most common. Finally, Americans will bring hair tools that are single voltage to places like Europe, where they use a different electrical voltage like in their wall outlets and it'll short and kill your hair tools, which is why you always want to have a dual voltage hair tool. If you're traveling, so with that, I was like well if this works. For me this is absolutely going to be the hair tool that I travel with and even if you're not traveling internationally. This is just nice to kill two birds with one stone save space, especially as a wavy, slash, curly, hair person. I still need the smoothing and the de-frizzing up at the roots. So far, these curls are not only gorgeous they're about one inch, I want to say they're super super shiny and for some reason, the motion of creating the curls with this tool is so much easier, not only physically but mentally than doing it with a a flat Iron for me, I think mostly because I'm not holding it closed, I only have to worry about twisting it and pulling pretty see. I love how it's like smoothing out the top and then curling the bottom uh. We have a surprise visitor. I'M really trying to give this fan concept like a third and fourth try, I'm just not feeling the air I'm gon na, let it run for a little bit. Maybe I jumped the gun on it. I turned off the fan again. Honestly. The noise is just annoying me. The product description says the built-in fan both cools and locks in shine. I am definitely seeing the shine, but I feel like I see it regardless because of the titanium plates, and there is some level of cooling effect, because without the fan on as I've been using this, I can't really touch the outside of the tool. It'S incredibly hot. It would hurt if you know you, you touched your face with it and with the fan on it's tolerable, to touch the outside of the tool, so there's definitely something happening because the curls are still warm anyway. I'M not sure it's really going to make a difference in terms of like how much longer the curls will last so. I'Ve started on my last layer of hair, and I want to say so far I feel like this is the easiest hair curling tool that I own right now, and let me tell you why, a few years ago, I actually got rid of all of my clamp. Curlers and exclusively switched to automatic curlers, so I had the kiss insta wave and more recently, I added the chi Spin and curl to my collection, and I do have a video comparing those two and reviewing them. As someone with a lot of hair automatic curlers did make it a little bit easier to get through all of this, and it took a lot of the effort out of my arms and hands, but I feel like, as I see the results happen in real time. This tool is actually giving me a little more control over my look because the problem with the automatic curlers is that you're not really able to get up to your root in order to smooth it down. The other thing using this versus an automatic curler is that I can fudge the one inch rule with this. Not so much with like the cheese, Spin and curl that'll pull your hair into the barrel, and if you have too much you get stuck with this there's a little more leeway because you're just feeding it through a much larger surface area that it can handle two Inch pieces of hair obviously it'll be a looser curl, but hey. If I need to get it done, I can get it done all right. I think I got all the stragglers now. I'Ve turned this off. This does have a 60 Minute Auto off, which I'm very grateful for how does the back look? Y'All, you? Let me know I can't see this is usually how I check my hair FYI. Oh, it looks good yeah. I think I got everything back there. I will say that these front pieces are kind of looser than the rest of my hair, because I had completely straightened them before we started curling so don't mind that, but let's go ahead and shake these out. I really like it and then, as far as up here, I am definitely seeing like a little bit of frizz, because I have breakage and flyaways, but it's very much smoothed out very shiny. I'Ve also been using their rice, Water Rinse, which is like. I am pretty happy with this all right. Let'S chat about my final thoughts on this Heritage. Go with the flow two in one Styler. I really like the finished results. I, like the shape that it gave me, I really liked being able to customize my look in terms of like how far down I wanted my curls to start and smoothing out the roots overall, this was a very effective tool in the way that I used it. Where I'm getting hung up is whether or not this is really a two in one product for me, I think that it's really going to depend on your hair type, even though they say this is going to work for all hair types, all the way up to 4C, I'm skeptical, mostly, I felt like the clamp, was too loose almost to really like pull my hair and give me that tension as I was straightening it, but when I was doing the curling motion and really creating that tension. That'S when I started to see a lot more of that smoothing happening so yeah, it's it's a little bit up in the air. I really wanted to go into this review loving this product because I loved the idea of it and I love the Heritage. Hair care products, I think, if your hair is anywhere between straight and slightly wavy, this will be a perfect two-in-one product for you, I think, if you're, between medium wavy and very defined waves, it's a little bit of a coin toss on whether or not you'll be Able to straighten your hair with this if your hair is anywhere between ringlet and Kinky Curly, I would be very surprised if this was strong enough to handle your hair unless you had thin and fine hair. But I want to know what do you think of this Heritage, two in one Styler? How do you think it did on my hair? Have you tried it? Do you want to try it tell me in the comments below today's shout out goes to iron jodangel08. Thanks for being a member of the slashed Squad and join me over in this video next, where I try a bunch of super viral makeup from Elf Cosmetics to find out if it's worth the hype, I'll see you over there bye

Mikaela: I have pretty thick, wavy hair and when I straighten, I have to use a comb closely followed by the straightener! It helps feed the hair into the straightener straighter, if that makes sense . It seems like that would have to be done with this tool since it doesn’t clamp down as much as a traditional straightener. Maybe give that a try and see if it helps? Thanks for the honest review!

Christine B: I have the same experience trying to straighten my hair with a flat iron! I just ordered a simple (starter!) ;) Conair curling iron to see if I can figure it out! Ha!

Amberger Helper: I learned to curl mine with a straightener by practicing with a cold one. My hair is so coarse, it has to be smoothed first, then curled.

Elizabeth Cruz: This reminds me of the l’ange!! Seems like it works the same too, because I don’t understand the fan AND it doesn’t straighten as much as I’d like. I always struggle with curling it but im going to try your technique! Thanks always for your review!

Aikookie: I used vidal sassoon 2in1 straightener/curler for 2yrs when I had long hair. I just gave it up bec the clamp for the straightener was broken and got a pixie. It gave me very nice big curls like Victoria secret model curls and the end result is always shiny

Mimi Garcia: Try using a comb below the iron while straightening. I’m watching your video in search of a new flat iron lol (I have a CHI and it still works but it is like 10-11 years old so time to get a new one lol) I’ve straightened my hair like that and we have the same hair type. I never have to go over it more than twice doing this. Thanks for the video!

Nathalie Blais: Seeing the steam come out of the iron (or your hair?) made me cringe! I have baby fine hair and I have to be extra careful with heat. I sometimes envy your thick hair (and the fact that you have so much of it).

Debra Roth: I have thin fine hair I don't think that tool work on my hair it did ok on your hair . I sometimes use a curling iron or my straightener that I have . You have some very thick hair. I think that tool did ok for you . Have a great day
