New Ghd Duet Hair Styler

The new GHD Duet Styler allows you to dry and style hair at the same time - with no damage! It's the first 2-in-1 hot air styler that combines the best in heat and drying technologies together. GHD uses Air-fusion™ technology which "combines state of the art internal aerodynamics with 4 smart heated styling plates to efficiently dry and style hair simultaneously."

GHD Duet Style uses 365°F with no air in Shine Shot™ mode for frizz-free, 2x shinier, 3.5x more hair alignment results. It promises no sizzling or burning smell, and is eco-friendly with up to 30% less energy consumption when using.

The GHD Duet Style is a great tool for two thing and two thing only: drying the hair and straightening hair with sleek, shiny results in one step. Its plates are smooth and don't tug on hair when styling. Flat Iron with smooth plates is always a big plus. However, you do need a brush to guide the hair through the plates, and get tangle free results. Needless to say, I had to use both hands to operate the tool as it glided through my hair to ensure it stayed clamped well. Because of this, it's a bit time consuming to use as compared to your standard flat ion.

When using the Shine Shot™, I did notice my hair smelled a little, but in air drier mode it doesn't smell. The design is also somewhat compact, considering it's a hair dryer and flat iron in one. This makes it a good option if you're trying to save space for travel. The tool heats up quick and the motor is pretty quiet, which I always appreciate! Who wants a noisy tool in their ear?!

Wow., Just for this little box .... What do we have here? I am excited. You guys we're gon na play with the newest Ghd 2-in-1 Hot Air Styler.. This right here is expensive.. This is a luxury splurge hair tool $ 399 US dollars.. This is unlocking a lot of memories for a lot of people.. Do you guys, remember the wet to style, stylers They're still available to this day., So this new Ghd Duet Styler Is basically a 2-in-1. First, it dries your hair using this new air technology Right here. You have on both sides, there's vent right here and a vent on this side., And then you have two plates on each side, which is really fascinating, and then you have these air vents as well.. So they're saying that it's supposed to take your hair from wet to styled for smooth hair with no damage. They're claiming no damage.. This is not your typical flat iron that will dry your hair from back in the day.. This is more advanced. This has technology in there.. I don't know if I trust it, but we're gon na try it out. It’s supposed to just use the air in here and then, once your hair is dried, you use the plates to smooth and add shine back into your hair.. I'M intrigued., I'm excited. We're gon na get my hair all ready.. The only thing I have in my hair is literally my shampoos and my conditioner., I haven't put anything else in here., I'm gon na add a little bit of my Act+Acre Cold Processed Leave-In Conditioner.. I'M just gon na do two pumps and my hair is still nice and damp. Some of the videos that I was watching. The hair looked really wet, like they added moisture back into the hair before they even used the tool. And then to add a little bit more protection. I'M going to use the Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil, Protective Primer., Just gently brush out with my Tangle Teezer, the Ultimate Detangler. and I'm thinking I wan na. Do half and half. See how fast it takes to dry my hair and then we'll go back in and we'll do like the shine using the plates. Instructions are very simple for the Duet Styler Ghd. You just turn this on. [ Andrey ], Plug it in first. Had to reset it. It's going to, I think, stop blinking or make a noise when it's done, but you turn it on.. Ah, it's pleasant.. It'S getting louder. We're taking off. Okay.. It'S warm air coming through.! I think we're done.. That'S heated! Up. Okay.! That was very simple and easy.. So next step you take a section as wide as the plate or the tool., And then you hold it two to three seconds next to the root at the root., And then you slowly glide down the section of hair and repeat until you're done drying. I guess You can see the air blowing from these little vents.. I feel like I have to hold the hair in there.. Okay, pass. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. Still, you can see it's still a little damp, some of the sections.. Let'S do five times., It's gon na! Take forever., It feels pretty good.. It has a little bit of dampness left, But that looks really nice.. It'S a little frizzy towards the top. Where all my new baby hairs are my new growth after the postpartum shedding., One thing I'll say right away the plates. I was thinking that it is going to get kind of stuck on the way down, but it was very smooth.. It felt very, even very easy, but it is going to be a little bit time. Consuming.. I wan na see how long it's gon na take half of my head to do. [ Andrey ], I'll time, you. Andrey's gon na time, me. And with every pass. I am holding the Ghd Duet Styler two to three seconds at the roots to dry them. All right.. This is just using the dryer, the hot air tool, the styler without the shine plates., And this is what we're looking like.. It took less than 15 minutes.. What like 13 [ Andrey ] 14 minutes 14 minutes, and this is What we're looking like. and it feels pretty dry.. Even the roots feel good I'd be good going with the plates now. (, Sighs ). One thing I will say I feel like my baby. Hairs are all over the place. I'M hoping the shine plates or the shine shine shot, will help kind of chill everything down.. But the hair feels very soft, very even.. It feels good, like I can run my hands really easily.. It feels really good. [ Andrey ]. How does it feel on your scalp, My scalp, It feels dry.. Is that what you're asking [ Andrey ] Did it feel hot It felt yes.? So the best way I found to get as close as possible to my roots was holding the Ghd Duet, Styler kind of at an angle instead of like horizontally, but holding it at an angle almost vertically and trying to get as close as possible to the scalp. Holding it there for two to three seconds., If you hold it longer, you can feel the hot air coming to your scalp, but it's not unbearable. It'S not uncomfortable because you're, not just holding it there, the entire time., This very comfortable in that sense.. It'S not hot.. The only thing I will say where it's uncomfortable is, you need to use your both hands. So the one hand it's clamping it down.. I was telling Andrey like halfway through I'm like ``, Oh babe, my hand is started to cramp up.'', So I kind of loosened my grip a little bit and just held it a little bit higher right here, where it felt a little more comfortable.. And then I started using my brush To help hold the section of hair in place or just kind of brushing it through, because I found that when I was just using my hand without the brush, a lot of the hair would kind of tangle. If that makes sense and it wouldn't be even. And the hair would start Falling out of the plates just because it is so smooth. So having a brush on hand and kind of guiding. That hair through is actually really great, and I personally would recommend it. But that's pretty great., I would say it is pretty time consuming, but You're drying and styling your hair at the same time.. It'S the same as the Dyson, the Shark, the Revlon That type of a tool where you dry and style your hair. At the same time. So that way, you don't have to go back in and use a hair straightener., But this I think it's cool.. They give you 2-in-1 that shine shot to turn it on and then just kind of gently go through your hair. If you even need it., I think I do especially towards the top just because it looks yeah. That'S what that is.. I love those baby hairs because that means we have new hair growth, but having a straight hair, look and have my baby hairs. All over the place is not a good look., [ Duet, beeps air turns on ]. You can click the `` Shine, Shot”. [, Duet, Air Styler fan working ]. Do I have to hold it because it's blinking, I'm assuming ..., That's just the straightener turning on. GHD, duet style, beeps, four times.. Okay, that's the straightener.! I love how big and wide it is, so you can get nice big sections to straighten the hair and to style it.. I will say once the plates are turned on. I can smell a little bit of ..., not burn, but ... [ Andrey ], Some oils burning. Yeah oils that are either on the styler, but I will say even with my Ghd, the 1.25 inch curling iron. It does omit a smell that most of my other hair tools, don't have.. I did wan na show you guys the roots, not the very top but underneath.. I was having a hard time, as I was saying, getting close to my roots., So you can see a little bit of that natural bend or wave that I have from my natural hair type.. I do have a little bit more wave towards the roots, so I do have to use a smaller flat iron. If I were to wear my hair straight just because this type, it's not gon na get as close.. Let me see if I can get it, how close I can get it at an angle, ...! That'S! As close as I can go. You can see where the line starts. It's right there and that's what happens.. That'S why I don't straighten these baby hairs.. I'M gon na finish this side right here. And I was noticing that I had to go at least four to five passes: to get a nice dry section of hair.. So that's what I'm going to do on this side. As well. So because I used the shine shot, which are the plates at 365 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm now going back to the hot air styler and it's literally cooling down the plates. And then it's going to turn the air on when it's ready to use, which is very fascinating.. You basically have to hold the shine shot button for two seconds for the shine shot feature to turn off and the wet to style air feature to turn back on.. We'Re waiting ... and it's been already like three minutes: [ Andrey ], Something to note. Something to note. Dry, your entire head first before using the shine shot.. This is the final result using the new Ghd Duet, 2-in-1 Hot Air Styler.. So I minimized how much I used on the right side, the shine shot, which is strictly just the plates at 365 degrees Fahrenheit. Because, like I said it has a little bit of that smell. Overall, yes, it works.. It delivers a very sleek shiny, smooth result.. I'M sure you can go back in and style using the plates, give your hair a little bit of a bend., But honestly this, I don't think it's that type of a hair tool to give you a curly, wavy result.. This is more to smooth to give yourself that really sleek result. Yeah. I think this is good for those that really want that smooth sleek result. And then you can go in and style your hair throughout the week, using a curling iron, a flat iron et cetera, to give your hair your waves bends, whatever. [ Andrey ], You could Travel with it right because you don't need to bring a hair dryer Yes., That's what I think is phenomenal., It's a 2-in-1, it's a hair dryer and it's a flat iron., I'm just thinking yeah. If you like to straighten your hair a lot - and you dry your hair, a lot this right here, I think, will replace that tool for you or both of those tools for you.. The one thing I'm a little concerned about is they're not saying how hot the hair dryer gets when it's just on the duet style, the hot air styler technology portion.. They are saying how hot the plates get when you turn on the shine shot, which is their typical 365 degrees Fahrenheit, but they're not saying how hot the rest of this gets. When you are drying your hair at the wet stage., I'm not sure, but they are saying it's `` damage free.'' To what point. I'M not sure., I'm not sure if they even tested to what point you do see or start seeing some type of damage.. So I do say, protect your hair if you think this will be good for you., It works and it works great.. I mean this is the result and I am happy with the result. Besides my baby hairs, but I just don't wear my hair typically this straight because of my new hair growth, it kind of just wants to do its own thing., It's expensive. $ 300, just kidding. $ 400. It'S $ 399.. It'S expensive.! I also appreciate that. It'S not loud, and it's not hot, on your scalp, because you're constantly moving it back and forth.. So there you have it. Another outstanding hair tool by Ghd. I like that it's revolutionary. It's better than the other ones from back in the day.. It delivers. Well, I'm impressed., You don't need this in your life, but if you want something like this in your life, I think it'll be a great investment for your hair.. I'M gon na leave it here.. Thank you for watching spending time with me and the new GHD Duet Style, the 2-in-1 hair tool and I'll see you in the next one. Bye.

ghd north america: We're obsessed with how your hair turned out we are so proud to be able to say that our duet style causes no damage to your hair when going from wet to styled! To answer your question, when in drying mode the plates are set to a lower temp of 248F and the air flow is at 302F to ensure your hair stays healthy while maintaining all that shine✨

Kalisha J: I think that if you're just starting with doing your hair and have no hair tools it could be useful but taking myself for example I have so many hair tools already that I don't think it's worth adding to an already full stash. It is an interesting tool though. Thanks for reviewing it, your hair looks nice.

Brandy Harris: That’s really cool! But it seems so time consuming. I love my Revlon One Step styler. Quick and easy!

tracy mclean: I have this and it’s fab. My hair is very curly, thick and around mid back length. To dry and straighten my hair it takes me an hour, with the duet it’s around 40 mins. The dryer is around 130 degrees c the smoother (platinum plates) runs at 185 degrees c. It’s best used with there new styling oil. Also you get a better result and it’s faster to take thinner sections horizontally at the back. The roots are straighter that way. What I’ve found is that the smoothness and longevity it’s the best ever. I also have the dyson airwrap, for smooth straight hair this blows it away. I’ve also managed to do beach waves with it. My only negative is it does feel heavy after about 30 mins of holding it.

Whitney Neilen: Thank you for reviewing!! I’ve been playing with mine and found that it doesn’t take as long if I use my Airwrap dryer to get most of the dampness out of my hair and then switch to this tool for a more sleek look. Overall, I love this product!!

J. K.: As a hairdresser of over 35 years, I have to say, a no damage guarantee is impossible. Especially at those temperatures. I have no clue how they can get away with that claim, but I suspect there are many asterisks after that claim in the packaging/advertising.

Emily Pineda: Thanks for reviewing this hair-tool for us, I love watching your videos❤ I think it’s a great tool your hair came out pretty straight.

jasminelise85: It seems like this tool is for people who like the sleek look. I love my hair to have body, movement and volume so I will pass on it. Love my Airwrap. Thank you for the review!

Tara Belle: Every video I’ve seen on this has the same one complaint—the roots are frizzy. Which makes total sense considering the air vent in the side is blowing the roots against the hair shaft and making it rougher. If they could make this work 3 ways (hair dryer through side vents, straightener with air vents in the middle with plates and just a straighter without any air vents), then it would be a home run.

Kerrie Lou: I could have blow dried AND straightened in the time it took to dry the FIRST SECTION

Raluca Suciu: I would be curious to see how it compares to the Revlon/Dyson smoothing brush or a regular hairdryer + straightener in terms of time and final result. Has anyone tried this with a more course/ wavy hair? Thank you for the review!

Courtney Goodin: When you only did half your hair, I thought you were going to compare it against your normal process on the other side. That would have been interesting to see as far as time and results.

Kristy KaiserSmith: Your hair looked beautiful after using this way too expensive tool ($400.00?). I air dry my very long hair & then use a Conair heat adjustable flatiron that cost me $30.00 and takes 10 minutes tops!

starfish8D: Always love your reviews!! :)

Boho Chic: The first side looks soft and almost as if you were styled at a salon! But still no way I’m paying 400 for another flat iron. I got burned with the wet to style lol! I love the Dyson though!

PJ Simon: The first time you use a new tool, it's hard to get used to so it takes a lot longer. That being said... Also, I'm convinced (through experience) that things work better if you brush in between, even if you just catch the hair with a brush instead of your hand, which should add no time (just like Melania did later into the video).

Fiona Darragh: I was waiting for someone to review this. I like how your hair turned out . Great job !

Stef Caglio: Thank you for reviewing this, you have saved me £359!!

Kim Belford: I have this I always rough dry my hair 80 percent before any styling tools and I find that speeds everything up. I use more as finishing tool on almost dry hair

gabby bove: I never trust those tools idk why lol I'm a typical hairdresser that just uses a blow dryer just faster and quicker for me, I know its not easy for everyone else so these tools are helpful for that. This seems like its too time consuming because of how many times you have to go over it to make sure its dry tho. At least it seemed that way. I would like maybe a comparison with what you use to style your hair on a daily basis to see the time difference between them.

אפרת כהן: I have this, love this. My hair feels healthy. Soft. Best purchase.

FoundInAMuseum: Thanks for reviewing! Too expensive for all the time and work you have to do. Seems that frizz at the top of the hair is happening to everyone that has reviewed it so far.

Berbersissi: If I was sure that this new expensive would work on my thick and wavy hair, I would buy it. However, it is a shame that you cannot try it before buying it as it was so very pricey.

Jean Bea: Looks like a great hair tool for many who love straight hairstyles. Would I ever buy this? No lol but I'm glad you reviewed it for us!

Sea Life nails: I think this has its uses for some people. I got a dyson airwrap a few months ago and I love it! Also I have that brush and it's amazing.

Stacey Shaffer: After watching your video and Julissa Gullien's video reviews I am going to keep using my Revlon one step hair dryer

SHIRLEY TAN: I think it will finish faster if we dry our hair first and then use a GHD straightener, it will shorten the time even more. and this GHD sound is very loud and can disturb people who are sleeping. Because I only have time to wash my hair and beautify my hair at night when my husband is fast asleep. I don't think this tool can help me because of the loud sound. But thank you for reviewing this tool

Sophie Baines: Any hairdresser will tell you you absolutely never ever ever flat iron wet or damp hair. It literally boils the water that’s under your hair cuticles and will just destroy your hair.

Emma Jager: Can you do a video comparing the GHD Duet and the Dyson Airwap? I know they're different products but they're around the same price point and I don't want to spend money on the Duet if I can get a similar look with the Airwap brush attachment. Basically, is it worth having both?

Jennifer Johnson: It would have been nice 2 have a timed race between that tool and your normal method of drying and using a straightener...and really compare the feeling of your hair after.

Sonnee Alden: Interesting find. I had the wet to style tool back in the dead.

Amy Pettypiece: $400 US funds? I can imagine what it’d cost in Canada. Honestly this thing looks stupid. It’s like they’re reaching to look “innovative” when you can just use something like the Revlon One Step, and then use a straightener you most likely already own afterwards. Also, heat damage doesn’t have to be a thing with any tool. Watch the Blowout Professor here on YouTube. He’s so knowledgeable, so much great stuff on his channel. Thanks for the review as always! You’ve saved me from wasting my money.

Antiques Restoration: We've seen you do your hair with many, many hot tools. This one, for the money, has the least impressive results based on how long it took and how your hair looked in the end. It's a hard pass for me.

Lisa S: It seems like it would take less time to just use a great blow dryer and a straightener. I curl my hair so this wouldn’t work for me anyway and at the price of it, I can’t see spending that much money for a hair tool especially with everything else is so expensive now.

Frederick Carr: Your Hair looks ABSOLUTELY % AMAZING and PHENOMENAL ❤ ❤ LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR LONG LONG HAIR HAIRSTYLE and THE COLOR ❤ ❤ Your Hair is DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY ❤ % HEALTHY FULL OF BODY AND BOUNCE AND DEFINITELY SHINES LIKE SILK ❤ ❤ Your Hair is getting Long ❤ ❤ I Hope you let your Hair grow. It looks REALLY nice Long ❤ ❤ I REALLY REALLY LOVE and ENJOY watching your Videos ❤ ❤ I watch your Videos ALL THE TIME ❤ ❤ PLEASE!! PLEASE!! STAY SAFE AND STAY HEALTHY ❤ TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS ❤ LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH PRINCESS ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❣

Mochi Bear: What about the inch that grows after you finish your whole head Nice idea, but appears to take wayyyy too long. My arms wouldn't hold up having to go over each section multiple times.

DIANNE BAEHR: Hmm.. i am wondering if you really can curl your hair a day or so later? I remember with the wet to straight, it was almost impossible to get a curl to hold a day or so after using that!

Martha Lilly: I can’t tell if this is an old or new video… I thought Milana’s hair was a lot longer … maybe she had a hair cut… I think this tool would be good for people with curly hair who want to straighten their hair.

SweetZuni: Thank you for testing all those products so we know what to expect.

P Andrews: Could be burning the product that was applied. I wouldn’t buy it too expensive like the Dyson but I still prefer theRevlon styling brush for my long wavy hair

Yes You Need This: How hot are the plates when you use the blow dry function? I understand the plates are also hot, but of lower temperature compare to when you use the straightener only function.

Margot Welland: Great demo but don’t think it’s for me and appreciate a realistic demonstration ❤

Cassie McCarty: Yeah takes too long. I never spend alot of time on my hair and it’s really expensive. Cool idea but not for me.

London_Liv: I’d want it to cook me a roast dinner & put the kids to bed as well as dry & straighten my hair for that ridiculous price!

LadyGertie2012: I just ordered this and plan on using it on dry hair I need to further straighten.

Beauty Space: Beautiful

jennifer ferreira: You are just awesome ❤

Joanne Mecoy: Yeah I haven't got time for all that Hairdryer and a straightner will do. Looks very pretty tho

Sarahs Technikwelt: Gosh, that tooks forever… I don’t like that super sleek look and really, the time factor is a no go. It takes 10 minutes to blow dry AND straighten my hair with the Dyson supersonic und Corrale (shoulder length). And my hair looks lively and shiny.

george chan: could you curl your hair with it ?

Britanica: I like the concept but for the price, ehh. There are better tools out there and you can use a good heat protector in combination and get way better results for a fraction of the cost of this tool. It made your hair look fluffy though, very pretty baby hairs and all!

Dragana: Dry bar has a cheaper one, straight shot blow drying flat iron with bristles inside. Don’t recommend these types of tools, they make your hair look fried/ broom finish LOL

Liz Murphy: Very time consuming, could I be bothered ....no.But thanks for the review

Christian Figuroa: That’s good they put a big box to keep the product more protected. You need to do your hair when it’s wet like this when you test products or else it looks like they don’t work because your hair is already straight in a lot of the videos. Look like a fun thing to try but just not realistic.

Kathleen Martin: Your hair looks great. But I am way to lazy for this. I found you channel years ago with the easy hair looks. If it takes more than 10 min I'm not doing it. I'll just have wet hair

Kacey K: Tbh, since I bought my Dyson airwrape 3 years ago, I think that other hair tools that came out later are not necessary. Nothing is stood out to me. And I think most of the products purpose are basically the same as the Dyson air wrap just in different styles.

Ri Hins: I’m getting tired just watching you do it :)

Shannan Minkus: Thanks for this video…I know it’s too time consuming for me

Holly Aliyev: It looks good but for the cost I don't think it's worth it.

Katie Cummings: Did you try Lash Next Door Mascara by Brooklyn and Bailey? Did you try Hairitage by Mindy Mcknight?

mojomonkeyyy: Honestly, I’m IN LOVE with mine. I always blow dry and straighten my hair, so this works really well. It minimizes frizz and makes my hair so incredibly soft and shiny, it’s literally so amazing on my hair. Also, I don’t have very thick hair, so it’s not time consuming for me at all. So I would assume the thicker the hair, the more time it would require. I love mine so much and it’s totally worth the purchase. The roots can be hard, but really, just hold it super close to the scalp and you’re fine.

AwakenedOne: Seems like a lot of work ‍♀️

Cindy: That takes way too long- thanks for sharing!!

Anni Carlsson: My hair airdry faster and get as straight as that. My issue is get a wave or curl and keep it when it not even want to stay in a buk all day

Katie Daly: Wonder could u curl with this while drying ❤

Re.x0: Cool idea but not for me Seems very time consuming also this is definitely a no go for wavy/curly hair. ‍♀️

Magnolia: I feel this would take anyone with thick hair way too long and not worth the price.

Siobhan: Love the result

Gina Lola: For 400 bucks it has to dry and curl my hair in one pass.

Lena Jensen: Uhhhh, need it❤

Emily Grace: Except your not getting the root lift from the blow dryer

Stephanie D'Souza: What lipstick are you wearing?

Jasmin Acevedo: Not sure about that tool. I think it will damage the hair.

risspx: Try doing it faster please like a few times quickly see what happens... otherwise that would take forever for $399 idk...‍♀️

Lisa Lagunas: Once I see price I move on.

maria stanulet: Thanks for reviewing but it is so much time consuming... a definite no for me

Diane Harrison: Thanks x

Geraldine Cullen: Think I’ll stick with my revlon

Silvia Bellebono: Non c'è un dupe??

Siobhan: Is it heavy ?

Christina Carney: Looks big bulky and time consuming

Ms Smith: Who’s got time for this? Lol for 399 just buy the Dyson

debbie schafer: The noise freaked me out.!

Patricia Guzman: The price is insane for a blow dryer inflation is going higher I have better things to buy with $399.00.

Tastycar: Your hair didn't even look that damp and it seemed to take FOREVER

Dennis Dimovski: This looks so draining just watching you do it , imagine doing it to yourself what a nightmare , it's a big no no from me lol

Sherry Thomson: I hate it! It's no good on my hair. I'm sending it back. I have horns all over my head plus I can dry my hair way quicker and better with a Hairdryer and brush. Then I can straighten after. £380 is so expensive for something I have separately already.

Melissa Temme: For the price this thing should t require this much time and really shouldn't have to go back in with the straightener. Not worth it to me

Hello: It seems insanely loud.

Mickey Remich: Maybe if you had curly hair this would be a good option?

Linda: You’re moving it far too fast. Go slower and you’ll only need 2-3 passes.

Thank for safe me 400€.

MrsLoretta: i was just diagnosed with lung cancer..please pray for me.

Stacy Barron: Too much work! Not worth it in my opinion

Judith Catlett: Return it.

Karyn Neemus: Her nose always sounds stuffy

My idea of fun: Looks like a waste of money to me

Rubi Potter: I’ll pass.

Pearls Petals: Really tired of all these hair tools costing over 300 dollars or more. Am I supposed to think that it’s better at these prices? Sorry not falling for it. They’re all the same from the 49 dollar tool to 600 dollars. It’s insane. We’re in a recession. Pay your bills first! ⛰️

صـرح الـشمـوخ: I think you have wavy hair,I hope to see you try wavy method ✨️
