She is putting overtone, that's some kind of pigment on her gray hair. That is dangerous. You cannot put any color on gray hair without re-pigmentating, I'm very excited, purchased, overtone in rose, gold rose gold and I love rose gold. The thing that I've been afraid I've had this actually for a couple of months and the thing that I'm afraid of is that I will use this and it will not completely wash out right that it'll leave some kind of little residue. That'S a big chance because gray hair is very porous and if it's very porous, this direct pigments are not just around your cuticle but goes inside, because it's so porous. It absorbs a lot of things now I never used overtone, but I heard that it washes off. Very quickly, but look at the gray hair, how beautiful I really love natural gray. Hair really do I know it's against my profession, it's against my salon. I know, but I really really really love natural gray, hair and the length that she has. It takes a long time to let your natural gray go outside on that length, Plus it's not all the same color, so the one string will absorb more than another string in my hair that has to be grown out just like hair dye. Now I've had a few of you tell me that this does completely wash out, so I'm gon na trust you and hope that that's the case, this color may look really silly on me. I have no idea. It looks really pretty on their website, but when you open it up, color looks Orange on the website: it's not natural, gray, hair and there's highlighting in her hair. So you have that really copper shade in her head. Yes, it washes off on natural hair, but if you do it on bleached hair, I'm not so sure. If that washes off, maybe eventually but not like natural head and on gray hair, you will still see some residues yeah. I guess it must. Oh, I love the smell it's so like minty, delicious anyways. I guess this must kind of like react with the silver hair. Hopefully - and hopefully it will not look this color, because this is kind of a little bit scary react how? How do you mean react with natural Gray? It'S just a pigment that goes around your head, it's not, they are. They are changing your natural pigment, but you don't have natural pigments anymore. It'S an empty tube. Your follicle has not produced any pigment anymore, but I am going to do this with you and you know what I thought to myself at first I was going to do like a little patch of hair and then you know test the waters and kind of see, But I'm like no, that's not me. I'M like go big or go home, so we're gon na do it. Today we are going to dye. My hair today rose gold yay, a strand test is always so important. If you do that in the back, then you would see that it's not a good idea. You are regretting it and you say well nobody's seeing it and I will leave it that way. But if you, if, if the color is not coming out of your gray hair, you will have to color it to cover it up, and then you are again many months away from the complete natural color. I'M not saying colored hair does not suit you. I'M not saying that, oh my God, what am I doing? Oh I'm just like so apprehensive right now, I'm asking the same thing. What are you doing? Look at the back, it's so dark and that will be another color that will be like brown, copper, but in the front hmm, and when it's uneven porous, it will be very uneven. Some strings will attach some nuts, oh my gosh. I don't know, I'm sure, I'm sure I've missed something. I'Ve tried my best to get this whole head of hair. I have used an entire tub of this stuff and I may as well just use the rest of it. Oh my God, so it says: wait! 10 to 15 minutes, so I think I'm just gon na wait for 15 minutes. I don't know what time it is right now, but I'm gon na wait for 15 minutes. I'M gon na try to use some, maybe lemon juice or something like that to clean my fingers. Look at them, ooh gross, hey, ladies, so I'm really freaking out right now. I can see the little bit of pink that's peeking through, but I haven't looked at my hair yet because I just put the towel on and I waited to do the reveal with you. So I I don't know what I was thinking. I'M honestly really scared. Here. We go and I hope that this washes out in the YMCA. Oh, I don't know what oh I don't know. Oh so not me, but I don't know this is really really really bad. You see the pieces that were not so Gray are darker, so that's normal, but in the front where it was really really really great. That orange has turned into pink because it's an empty tube and the one string. Let'S wait until it's dry, but the one string will be more covered than other. It will be. Very patchy. Overtone is not made to put all natural gray hair - I I guess not, but direct pigments are not so weird friend I guess difference. This is like honest reaction right now, like I don't I'm like speechless. I don't know what to say, because my hair has been silver for so long strand tests does not sound crazy, huh, go bigger or go home. No, that's not me. I'M like go big or go home all right, so my hair is still pretty wet right now and I just finished scrunching it and then just kind of putting some clips in and I got ta be honest with you. I am not digging this color whatsoever like it is really really pink and patchy, see there's a little bit of natural light here, and you can see just how pink it is and then there's like still kind of the gray in here. I just what have I done. I just want this out now go big or go home. I went to the shower and I shampooed my hair like four times, and I've got a bright light on me right now, so that you can see this, and I don't know like how long I don't know. If this is. I don't know it's already much lighter but, like I said the last pigments, there are some pigments that are really penetrated in your hair, because gray hair is so porous in natural hair. You don't have that and a bleach wash is not the solution. You will lift your natural dark head and that will turn orange. So that is not the thing that you can do here. I'M sorry! Oh my God. I really feel stupid yeah. You made a mistake. You know what I think is upsetting me. I think it's because of the time it takes to grow out your gray hair, like it's just so much work, and you know what I think, I'm overthinking things like. Who really cares? It'S just hair right! No, no! No! No! No! No! No! So many people, even in the comments, are always saying, grow up. It'S just head. That'S not true! It'S not just hair. I know look at me when I, when my head was falling out. I was like, I don't care, but the moment I had to get rid of all my hair was not funny. It'S it's like a new you and for now she has the same problem. You have a new identity and you don't like it if you like it. Well, it's something happy, it's something good, it's good for your confidence, but if you're not happy about it, it hurts it really. Is it's not just hair? Yes, it grows back and yeah. There are more bad things in life. I know I know I know, but for your confidence, that's really important. I went out and purchased vitamin C tablets. I couldn't find any powder, but I got tablets and then I crushed them in a mortar and pestle and then I've got dish soap. I'Ve got shampoo and I'm using my ultra swim shampoo. Every time I see that kind of mixtures, I'm cringing, but now that you don't have the possibility of do bleach wash otherwise, your natural dark hair between the gray will turn orange. I think this is a possibility to do this mixture. You see it's not always bad these mixtures. Now you don't have any choice. Your gray hair will get more porous because this soap, the pH of this soap, is, is really bad. So it's it's all very. Your hair will be more porous, that's for sure, but maybe this will get rid of the pink, I'm not sure. But in this case I would say, let's try this even with baking soda, I would say: let's do it and they say to try to use like shampoo with sulfates in it, because I guess that helps get the color in a little bit more too. I'M using baking soda and then I'm using dish soap, so hey vitamin C baking soda dish, soap, throw it all. I used five and a half teaspoons of crushed powder, like of the Vitamin C powder, and then I used a quarter cup of everything else. The four other things, so it's this really frothy foamy mixture that you can see here in the bowl and it smells good. It smells like shampoo, so I'm going to mix it, I'm going to make a little bit of a mess right now, but I'm going to put it on my head and I'm just going to scrub it into my hair. So I just completed another round of this solution and I'm really like I'm like on the verge of tears. Right now. I feel really upset it's such a ugly color and it's it's faded a lot, but it did, it did fade a lot. Maybe do it again. Maybe do it a few times and then maybe you have the natural of course it will not be your natural gray, but if the most of the pink tint is out of your head, you can let it grow out. Maybe use silver shrimp, whoa whoa, I'm happy here with baking soda silver shampoo. What'S wrong with me, what's wrong with me, am I changed? No, but this is an exception. It'S still. It'S still got pink and I just I feel really really sad. So nothing seemed to work and I was left with this little yellowy tinge to my hair and I just thought: okay, well, I'm Gon na Leave it and you know kept doing everything that I was doing. But I did notice that when I was using heating tools that my hair was turning sort of like a dingy, brownish color and now that Lisa from beauty 101, she had this exact same effect and since then I've had people say to me like. Oh, I think it was like the vitamin C treatment that you did, that can cause you know, reactions or whatever, but I'm not sure. I think it was just like a combination of all the junk that I was putting into my hair. So then, all of a sudden I wake up one morning and my hair is pink again like I'm not kidding, I don't even know what happened. It was overnight - and I was with my friends - and I literally woke up in the morning - and I said, is my hair pink yeah, but it was like gray pink but hey. I really like the color that you have now. I really do who colored it. They did an amazing job like does this look like I thought I was going crazy. I'M like, I think, I'm starting to see things, and I asked my friends and they're like no. Your hair is pink at that point. I tried using Color Oops and tried to get rid of the pink that worked and again just back to that kind of dingy yellow. So I posted a video on here when I finally came back to let you know why I ended up coloring, my hair and I'll post that link ahead, but again it just. You know it was the pandemic. I was feeling kind of crummy about everything and uh. I just I missed my silver hair and I didn't want to do the whole road again for four years. So well, let's all find out, let's all go to her Channel and see that color transformation. But let me say the gray head was beautiful on you. You didn't have to use the overtone, but the color you have now is equally beautiful. It'S not too dark. Your skin tone is really beautiful. All I'm going to say today is Jokers

Aurora Huntley: This wasn't a hair fail. Her hair looked beautiful each time she washed it. Going from pink to peach to blonde - those colours suited her. However, I am surprised that is her natural grey. She carries Grey very well.

Happy Ratty: Her grey hair was so beautiful, it suited her so well. It's true that we do not appreciate what we have until it's gone. And can I just say I feel privileged to have witnessed the first time you have been ok about using silver rinses/baking powder etc.

PEEPLA7: Actually the way her hair looks dry before she put all the baking soda stuff in looks really nice actually it was just not all one color because gray hair is not all one color but it has depth and it looks nice... It's just not solid rose gold which is what she was going for.

🌟Trista🌟: Hey, Hello! So glad you're back to give me some Monday relief. Have a great day, Hair Buddha and friends. ❤️

sallyostling: I'm confused. She loves Rose gold. Gets rose gold, and doesn't love Rose gold.

Perry Skye Phoenix: Overtone has a line of colors that are made for gray hair. Rose Gold is not one of those colors. It helps if you have some yellow/gold in your hair already. Her hair is white. Edit: the good thing about resistant gray hair is that the color will wash out very fast.

Hazardous Nic: Agreed it’s not just hair. I learned that lesson when I bleached mine to death in high school.. and again at 24 when I lost it to cancer after growing it to perfection. It’s part of our identity and self confidence Love your content Hair Buddha

Melissa Kelley: I understand she didn't like it, but her hair was so pretty the whole way through. The color wasn't bad at all.

p.m. p.: I actually liked the results. The mix of soft pink and black was really pretty. I wish she had lived with it for a few days. Maybe styled it and got some reactions before freaking out. But I understand when fear takes hold and just drives you. And I didn't see any patchiness but maybe I wasn't looking properly. I'm not a pro. She knows herself best and I hope she is happy with her hair now

Daniela Staples: No. It's not just hair. It's the way you feel about yourself and the way you present yourself in the world.

Parula: This video is giving me the shakes! It took me three years to grow out the red dye on my natural grey hair. It was a painful process with a lot of really unflattering stages. Now I love my hair and I would never go back to dying it. I can’t believe that she’s willing to risk her beautiful grey hair!

R3D Marre: I actually liked the pinkish color on her, especially when she managed to fade it. If it had been my hair I would have left it and rocked it, might just be me can understand if not everyone is comfortable with it.

C B: The pink didn’t look so bad when it was dry at least on her cameras. Did she not realize rose gold hair color is pink lol.

Andrea Basaure: Thanks for reacting to this. I'm growing my greys and I watched this video. There was a whole hype about overtone and this was the video that turned me off about it. In my case I'm not going to mess up my hair after I fully transition. I'm already at the 8-momth mark.

Minky Fran: I don’t think it’s that bad, it’s a Rose gold colour , I’ve seen far worse

Lesley: I grew out my gray (turns out it's white) hair about 5 years ago. I cheated through my transition. I had my hairdresser bleach my long hair to platinum (two sessions four weeks apart) and used a silver, semi-permanent color mask for about 2 years. My hair was a bit brittle after bleaching, but the silver overtone on my uniformly bleached hair looked fabulous. Once my natural white hair grew out to shoulder length, I had the rest of the bleached ends cut off. I will never color my hair again!

Lía SC: I think she looks stunning with the pink hair, she looks so much younger and fresh! I don't know why she's so upset, it looks way better than before. And the final color is also great!

I am Darvit: Thank you Hair Buddha for your love and appreciation for grey, silver, pewter or white hair! I got my first white hair in elementary school. It's hereditary and runs in both sides of my family so as you could guess, my hair is platinum/white from the crown & ears forward to my forehead & the back is literally the color of metals silver & pewter... all of my hair looks like fine strands of metal because it's so shiny. I don't use heat or chemicals at all & I use leave-in conditioner & hair oil on my lengths & ends because my hair is long :) Edited to add, I use NotYourMother's Blonde moment purple shampoo to remove any yellowing once a month or every 6 to 8 weeks depending on when it's needed to re-establish the pure white of my hair.

Grandma Jizzzzzzzzard: I have been trying to get her original gray hair for like three years. I cannot believe she ruined it. It was so beautiful.

Xtina: I think her hair looked great when she was explaining the vit c thing. I liked the pink tint. What did she expect to happen tho lol

Ma-ma-ma Mary: Her natural grey hair was the stuff people pay hundreds of dollars to achieve. If it wasn't for her commentary, I would have thought it was a grey hair dye job.

Sonshine and Song (Linda McLawhorn): I can't believe she was so picky about the pink hair! I thought it came out rather nice at first and after the four washings it really looked great as she described the vitamin C baking soda treatment she was about to use. In my opinion she was just too picky. She is a beautiful woman and she looks so good with all the silver or pink or whatever in her hair. But when she came on at the end with her new hair color I was blown away!!! It doesn't even look like the same woman to me. She looks twenty years younger with that new hair color! I truly enjoyed seeing a different side of you as you reviewed this video. Indeed it was an exception to most of your other videos. Here's something funny I noticed last night... I had a yearning to watch a video from you and I went to your channel to look at the videos to see the ones I've missed and wow what a surprise I got! I have watched almost every single video you've had for the last 2 years hahaha! You are definitely a BIG part of my life! Thank you for your creativity and enthusiasm. I love your videos!

icannotbeseen: I always get so annoyed when they don't wear gloves.

Carol Crombie: She's such a stunning woman that she would suit anything, however she obviously didn't like the changes but she did really well to get it lighter

Joyous Joy: I didn’t think her hair was all that bad looking…she’s beautiful either hair color - that’s the important part…imo

Jedburgh Pear: I loved her natural grey hair, so sophisticated.

Dee Mack: Thank you for saying you love natural grey hair... When I turned 40, I changed my hairdresser because my original hairdresser said grey hair would age me, and she wanted me to keep colouring it. I decided that I didn't need that negatively. My current hairdresser is fabulous, and knows how to cut my hair brilliantly so I can rock my Grey's

Victoria Hayden: What a shame. Her original grey hair looked amazing on her.

Ginny Thwaite: As an ex-hairdresser, I really, really, really love natural grey hair too. Loving' my own, wish it would go full grey faster. I think there is nothing more attractive than a woman who has embraced her grey hair.

Melanie Courtois: Thank you for saying you love grey hair! It means a lot as many women growing their natural hair often receive unwanted negative comments about it.

Erica Henry Johnston: Thanks for doing such a gentle reaction video! I wasn't sure what to expect here. A subscriber told me that you had posted this video and I was a bit nervous to watch!

Chelsea Huckabay: Her hair was beautiful! This is why I’ve stopped dying my hair and going back to my natural hair. Your videos helped me out a lot! Thank you Hair Buddha!!

Dayna Šafránek: Her grey hair is beautiful. It’s not yellowed and her cut is great on her. Her grey is the one you want, but never get.

TheEudaimonya: Her grey was so beautiful and I sympathize with how unhappy she was with the color. As a longtime user of oVertone on grey, if she wanted it to look like the photo, she needed to first apply a shade like that person's color, then the rose gold over it. That's how I cover the grey streaks in my almost black hair. I oil my scalp so it doesn't get dyed, let it sit a bit, then espresso brown on the roots, pink for brown throughout, with some very thin streaks of heavier pink where highlights might go, let it sit for an hour, and rinse with cold water. It comes out a very dark merlot. People think I henna my hair. It's perfectly office appropriate, but I enjoy knowing that it's actually pink.

zanazanelol: Thank you for looking at the video and reacted to it! I found her on youtube and I thought she really rocked that silvery fox look! You are right the new colour suits her as well. Also: I don't think grey hair is against salons or the profession. Because many women would love to transition to grey hair and that growing phase can be painful. I guess a skilful colorist would make a great job in helping with that phase (highlights, dark grey lowlights, changing warm tones to cool ones to match the silver - grey picking out. It's an art in itself. Plus maintaining it, cutting it etc, I think it's a growing niche to be honest.

Susan LaBrier: You are your hair. ❤ It's not just hair, it's chemistry.

Yesitsme: Before I started growing my gray hair out in mid 2020, I had this brilliant idea to buy Overtone in a dark brown color to see if I could use it to color my gray roots. It turned my hair green. It felt like it took six months for it to finally grow out. I loved this woman's gray hair - she looked beautiful with it. I can't believe she did this, and now she colors her hair again.

SeXiLaVilleValo101: I love her natural hair!

Sharon Donnelly: She is so lucky to have grey hair like that. My hair is quite long and natural grey but not such a pretty silvery shade like hers. I see women with her shade of grey and am so jealous.

Metster Ann: I remember seeing this woman when it happened, and I felt bad for her. I guess ultimately she had to choose between colored hair and longer hair but she is pretty enough to do a pixie and let the grey grow again. It was much prettier than light brown. I have waist length silver/grey hair. I’ve used overtone too, but only the silver color. It is a nice conditioner. My hair turns a little more of a steel color, then washes right out. Women are conditioned to color hair but I get many more compliments on my grey than I ever did on my natural or dyed hair. Seeing somebody with long, healthy, thick grey/silver hair is uncommon. My colored hair came out from chemo and when it was about an inch of growth, I rushed back to get it colored, but fortunately, my colorist suggested I leave it as it was a platinum color. Best advice I ever took. Why do you say grey hair is a hollow tube? Lack of pigment doesn’t make it hollow.

Dorothy Irby: Thanks for doing one for silver hair. It took a long time to grow out mine, and now some of the newer growth is coming in more slate grey than silver. Frustrating. But I don't want to go back to dying it since my hair is fine and sparse. Any other videos you can do for us silver goddesses would be welcomed!

V. 1954: I'm silver for three years and this very nice woman, Erika Johnston, was one of my YouTube mentors when I was going through my transition. When she did this, I think all her viewers let out a gasp. She actually disappeared from YouTube for a long time-I admit many of us asked her, "WHY?" She showed up again several months ago with her hair dyed brown. Most of the pink had disappeared but she was tired of the masking giving people the impression she was older. When I last checked, she said she was hoping to go grey again. If she does, she has to embrace it and not mess with it.

April Smith: Oof, I put brown Overtone on my grey hair, just to 'temporarily' cover it. I am still growing out my stylist's rescue highlights, 2 years later. D: EDIT - I never had a problem with their pink/purple, or with Manic Panic pink or purple, but Overtone with ANY yellow tones in it, I got awful turmeric yellow tones that stained permanently. My salon owner quipped that he is pretty sure they use textile dye for their yellows.

thegreenmanofnorwich: Aside from everything else, wouldn't a grey base lead to desaturated colours? I actually quite like it. It isn't what she wanted, sure, but I wouldn't call it a disaster, especially just before she applied the vitamin C and shampoo etc solution.

Trina Hughes: I mean, what did she think was going to happen? She's putting a color on her hair... I'm confused what she thought was going to happen....

Elizavella Beauty Over 50: Love your reaction. She ended up dying her hair darker then lightened it again. She Dyed it because someone made a rude comment about her gray hair and she also didnt like the way she looked on a zoom call. So shes not gray anymore which is a shame becaus her hair was gorgeous on her. She looks beautiful in any color hair though and she has such a sweet pesonality I really like her I love natural gray hair its so beautful and the only way to get it is to grow it out it simply cant be replicated although some have come pretty close

lauren reagan: I'm glad to see you did a grey hair video. I have been following this lady for years. I felt her devastation and tears at the huge oops she did. I grew mine out in 3yrs and am fully grey at 47. I absolutely adore my hair. Thank you again Hair Budda. Best wishes.❤️

Cynthia Bakke: I'm so glad you did this video-I'm only about 30% silver and all virgin hair (grew out and cut off formerly bleached/dyed hair) and was considering some overtone. You saved me some trouble! That said-I liked her hair both colors, but I'd be heartbroken if I had her gorgeous full head of silver and ruined it.

Rolos Mate: Epic reaction and thanks for explaining why overtone doesn’t cover grey hair. You are fantastic Hair Buddha. Xx

kathy mello: As someone who stopped dying my hair to transition into sparkling silver, over 18 years ago...I would die if this happened. I know that my hair grips dust and smoke, I can only imagine this. I saw this video when Erika posted it and I actually cried for her. This is devestating. I have seen ads for Glaze and have contemplated using the clear to add gloss, but am even afraid of that. (I need to update my picture, as my hair is now about 70% silver, white white in the Sunlight)

Just Sara: Am I the only one who thinks her hair looked great at every step? Over the years of doing damn near everything to my own hair, and "failing" in every imaginable way, I've discovered that often the difference between a fail and not, is giving myself TIME to adjust to the change. It's not the outcome itself that I have a hard time with, so much that it's different to what I was used to.

Deirdre Souza: I like it I love the different tones‍♀️ she never dried it all the way ! To see what it would really look like. After washing it 4times it’s all mixed ! I would have liked to see it dried in the beginning!

Yuri Finch: Always do a strand test! Better safe than sorry. Color correcting is a pain.

Niamh Eurodyne: I loved the pink/grey, it was kinda goth with the natural lowlights and highlights. She looked like a fairy going grey Definitely going to do this if I get properly grey (my family has VERY dark hair and my nearly 90 yr old nan only has a light smattering of grey.

wiredshini: Honestly I think every single color her hair went to looked pretty on her. I get that it wasn’t what she had in mind but this whole video I was sitting here going “Girl your hair looks fine. Style it up and rock it!” Honestly I’m just hoping that when I go grey it looks even half as nice as hers does. Until she herself said her hair was naturally gray I was debating on whether it was a coloring job like how silver has been kind of popular in the past decade or so. It just looked that good that I wasn’t sure if it was on purpose or genetics. The very end results weren’t bad either just seemed like a deeper blonde and I agree that it suits her too. Starting to think there isn’t a light color out there that she couldn’t pull off.

Tamera Kosa: She was a real help when I was growing out my grey hair. I followed her YouTube. Then way after she did this, she ended up coloring he’d hair brown… humph

kissalexx99: The grey looked gorgeous on her but the light brown actually makes her look much younger. The grey hair made her look about 55 and the final result she looks 35.

Marjorie Darden: I'm so glad you posted this. I have been letting my hair grow out for 7 months and my hair grows really fast. But sometimes I think hmmm Maybe try something? But No I'm not going to do it because i will be right back to dying my hair.

Adina Kristina: The other thing you can use if you've got a permanent color you hate, is Color Oops by L'Oreal. I used it on my dyed BLACK hair and had to use 3 applications. Most colors, even permanent ones come out easier than black. That said, it worked wonderfully and I went on to become a platinum blonde. Two years later I did a semi permanent rose pink. Six months later I became a redhead and it's my favorite. People always compliment it. Anyway my point is, it's not the end of the world when you have to fix or remove a color. Maybe I'm just more bold than others in this area IDK. Heads up on Color Oops, it stinks like sulfur. But it's totally worth it.

Patricia Garcia: I totally understand why she tried to jazz up the white hair. It isn't gray it is white and gorgeous. I also stopped coloring my hair 7 years ago. I still have moments where I think about doing something different to my hair. But the thought of ruining my hair stops me quick. What I end up doing is scheduling a haircut and style. And when your hair isn't 100% white you have different changes every month that are amazing.

Indigo Pisces: Thank you for this video!! I’m letting my natural grey come in and was toying with the idea of overtone!!! I had seen her video previously, but really appreciate the professional perspectives!!!!

Mary Duff: Call me crazy but I love the color it was before she did the concoction

ggg ggg: this is why I stopped dying my hair (I had my first grays when I was 5, yes I'm serious my whole family is like this), I've seen all my life how difficult it is to get a decent colour while you already have a gorgeous white underneath! Also when you have just a few greys it looks like tinsel and I love it thank you so much for reminding us all how beautiful grey hair is, Hair Buddha!

hinotefanatic: Huh. I use arctic fox (mix of Poseidon and Purple AF) on my natural hair - about 25% gray, the rest medium brunette. One of reasons I love it is because it doesn’t show much on my brown hair (unless I’m in the sunlight) but REALLY pops on my grays, making it look highlighted blurple. I comment mainly because he said you can’t put color on gray without repigmenting (although I’m only about a minute into the video so he might explain that).

Mocha R: We need a hair tutorial on dying grey hair. Its not easy, just thinking throw anything on it doesn't work. Grey hair needs a filler first. Interesting video.

Peek-a-Boo: Her hair still looked beautiful with the pale pink imho. I felt so bad for her because her hair was such a beautiful silver. It saved me from over toning my own silver hair purple. I wanted to do it so badly, but was procrastinating. No way do I want to risk being a slave to my roots again.

LayinLow: I must admit, I liked the pink hue in her hair

Strattonskier: The best my hair has been in my entire life is once it turned gray. It’s beautiful,I get constant compliments which is so fun since my natural hair was mousy brown which I highlighted till I went gray. Wish I could show you the beauty of gray hair.

Perfect Pikelet: Her grey hair was beautiful, but I also loved the very pale pink before she put her concoction on it ❤️

Lozza: She was half a winner when there was no sign of Quick Blue! Sometimes people have to learn from their own mistakes, so sad though!!

ELAINE WIGGINS: I have followed Erin's grey hair journey for three years... I felt so sorry for her when the rose gold tint ruined her beautiful silver hair... I am at the end of my silver journey too... Just need 2 or 3 inches of the hair dye cutting off... When I use purple shampoo... Loreal professional too often I do get a purple tinge to the hair... Have converted to Philip Kingsley's daily purple shampoo which is an excellent product with no purple aftermath My hair is in amazing condition now that I don't dye my hair anymore

aknittinkitten: I have naturally grey hair and I’ve used Overtone. It washes out fairly quickly but I did not like the texture of my hair after using it. I switched to Manic Panic and have been much happier. The colour stays pretty well and washes out evenly.

irasan77: I think it looks ok. Thats the color I would expect to get with what she had before. What did she think would happen? I got white hairs since my twenties, so by now I am pretty grey and white in my fourties. I like it way better than the dark blonde/light brown I had before. Don't need bleach anymore with nature doing the job for me : D

Brandy G: Overtone is amazing. Very pigmented. Soaks into blonde. Doesn’t wash completely out. I had blue overtone in my hair. Decided to let it fade out. I have bleached it a few times…. Not used overtone in over 6 months- still blue tones. It stays. Great product—- leaves a stain

Jennifer Witt: Her hair looks amazing either way. Yes the gray was gorgeous but the “rose gold” looks beautiful on her.

shayzie: I have the exact silver hair amount she does and I aim for that pastel looking pink which overtone gives no color payout for me.. Pink (other temporary brands) usually sticks too well, too bright and never goes away. light Purple is the best fading for a month of color on your grey hair.

Beejisback: I absolutely love her gray hair it’s so beautiful!

El-C Vex: Eek! She is beautiful with grey hair - silver grey is such a stunning colour on her

Jennifer Abeille-Bourdon: Overtone is awesome. I use it as a daily conditioner and build up the pigment. The bigger issue I have is it doesn’t stay on my gray hair. They also are really expensive $34 a jar… and they send you gloves and instructions.

Impossible Girl: Thank you for showing us your hair story . Very brave ,and a lesson we can learn along with you.

Carla Baku: I really truly wonder what she was expecting. I transitioned to gray in 2012, and I really love my beautiful silver hair. But I'm also ready to do something fun. I have some samples of Overtone purple and teal, and I'm going to put a few peekaboo highlights in my hair. I would never do this unless I was committed to actually having those colors in my hair, for however long they stay. I don't think counting on a pigment washing out is a good strategy!

ox0cherrybomb0xo: Her natural gray/white is GORGEOUS. But I thought it looked very pretty when she did the first reveal, very similar to the picture on the website that she liked. She should have dried it and worn it for a bit before jumping into the DIY color removal treatments. Beautiful woman in any regard though!

Jennifer: I've been using overtone (purple for brown) for 3 years now. It doesn't just wash out. It doesn't even bleach out. I get my hair bleached once a year, and my hair turns pink. I can't believe that she put it on without using gloves either. Her hair looks pretty though.

andrea sauder: It is funny how different hair can be. I tried this overtone color on my gray and it barely showed up I had to do it like 3 times for it to deposit enough color to be noticeable. And the 1st time I used the overtone "fader" shampoo it basically disappeared. It wasn't the color I was expecting either it was a very cool light pink, I think since it has gold in the name you are expecting warmer tones.

Meow Squad: You were freaking me out a bit with you agreeing with all the things she used to remove the color....I would never use those....

SunLovingLady: I love this girl, and saw this video when it happened. It was painful! It literally ruined her hair. She is so beautiful no matter what color she is, but she does grey hair so beautifully. I don't understand why she ever wanted to change it. I will never ever add any color (no matter how temporary they promise it to be) ever. Lesson learned after seeing this.

Nancy Stinger: Love your videos so much ❤️Yep it’s not just hair it’s like when people say age is just a number who are they kidding I would be in tears it’s a hard lesson . Because if these videos I would never attempt anything on my own but I understand the temptation .

Charlene: Ultimately, what matters is what she feels about her hair. It didn't look that much like a fail to me at all, but, well, it's not my hair. I do agree that her silver was stunning. My hair just isn't at that point yet. In fact, it's nowhere near that yet. I have used oVertone... I just used it this past weekend. And frankly, I love it! It's very conditioning. Given using that instead of a permanent color means I'll have to color more often to cover the small amount of grays I have, but it's not damaging my hair the way permanent color has. Ultimately, I think people should really consider what works for their hair, because not all products will do on your hair what it will do on others' hair.

Clee Torres: Her grey hair was so beautiful

Erika Vogel: Instead of doing the vitamin c, baking soda, dish soap combo(which is very harsh and drying on your hair), she should've done a clarifying treatment. That would've pulled most of that color off without damaging it. Even a good clarifying shampoo would've faded it out quick. Just a tip in case anyone else needs it.

LucyEatsPlants: That stuff just washes out of my grey hair. It may take a while, but eventually it's just gone. She just needs to wait a few weeks!!!

Kelly Foster: It's not just hair, I agree. My thyroid was off, meither I ran out of medication, couldn't afford it, or it needed an adjustment. However, my hair almost all fell out. I couldn't even use a hair elastic band because of how little hair I had. I cut my hair short. About down to 2 or 3 inches. Biotin became my friend. My hair has grown back and is a little thicker than before it fell out. Now I can get it into a ponytail holder.

Sarah Fitzpatrick: Erica has had a difficult relationship with her natural grey and although she always gets positive comments on her grey grow out journey she was never happy with it! Doesn't surprise me she did something like this...

jabbaa6500: I use Overtone on my naturally white/sliver hair. Works very nicely. It does not last long about 6 shampoos. Also, used it on lightened hair same color as she is using but there was no color in it and created a bright ginger.

Kymberly Pray: She is stunning, gorgeous, and will remain so irrespective of the color of her hair. • • • • •

Lisa G.C.: I look forward to your videos, Hair Buddha. I had a terrible day and have just felt awful. Your videos make me happy. You do a great job.

goodemily1977: Her gray was so beautiful! I wish mine was like that. And yes, it’s more than just hair. As someone who has lost a lot of it, it’s hard.

Susan Seiler: This woman is so incredibly beautiful, she never looked bad at any point.

A. Kenneth: Wowwww. She looks lovely either way, but I understand her reaction to the interim Overtone look. I went from red to grey, and now have waist-length white/silver/grey hair. I wear it up most days. I’ve been tempted to color it, but resisted the urge. Whew! Thanks for re-confirming my decision.
