So after I've rung as much water out with my hands as I can, then I take a smooth, fiber towel or a smooth fiber scarf. This is actually a cotton scarf to remove additional excess water. From my hair, before I put styling products in so a smooth fiber just means it doesn't have the kind of fibers that are actually sticking out. Next, I apply the sublime hair milk from OA. This is a really lightweight leave-in product and what it's going to do is help to balance porosity. So if your hair is porous and has a hard time retaining moisture, it will help your hair to retain moisture, but it's not going to weigh it down. So I really like a lot of volume to my style. This is also the only leave-in cream. I know of right now that works really well for fine hair. Next, I'm applying the flux potion from away, which is a volumizing gel. It'S also really lightweight, but it is hydrating and it is going to allow me to get great curl clumps without making my hair heavy or crunchy. Lastly, I apply curly potion, which is a stronger hold, but heavier gel just to the areas of my hair that tend to frizz up more and have a harder time getting curl clumps, so I'm just adding it to those areas so that I don't weigh down my Entire hair, but I can get added definition where it's needed most once I feel like I've, fully saturated and distributed my product I'll, go in and lift my roots off of my scalp a little bit and then do a little bit of scrunching. My hair is pretty curly; it doesn't really need to be scrunched to be curlier. So how much you scrunch just really depends on how much your hair will shrink on its own without scrunching, but if it makes you feel better, you can just scrunch, no matter what just be mindful that you don't have anything sticky on your hands, because this can Cause the strands to separate and make your hair look frizzy. So this is the shark hyper air blow dryer. I actually got mine as a bundle at Costco. That was the best price that I could find on it. I used to have a Dyson, I'm going to be doing a full review on these two blow dryers very soon, uh, comparing them just for the use on curly hair and for both professionals and for consumers. So I start out and I'm using the diffuser on the ends of my hair. I only have less than 20 minutes to get my hair fully dry before I need to leave for the salon. So that's why you'll see me checking my watch here and there. So I start on my ends and that's because that's where my hair holds on to the most water, so I'm starting my drying process down in my ends. This is a longer video, I'm not cutting anything out. I did a cut version version version for uh reels, but for YouTube. I'M giving you guys the full uncut version, so you can see how long it truly takes for me to get all the way through styling my hair, without any kind of illusions of how much time or effort it takes. So now I'm starting to notice that there's an area of my hair, that's looking like it didn't get defined by the product, so I'm taking just a little bit more a curly potion that stronger whole gel and just running it through that area. If you have a part of your hair that tends to separate really easily, you might actually be using too much water and if you're, using a water-based gel like Curly potion, you could just put it directly onto that area without adding more water, because the water in The product will re-wet the section and then you're going to get a stronger hold when the hair didn't also have a lot of water in it, which dilutes the product and makes it a little bit less effective, so another tip to further Define those areas that tend To to separate more and not go into their curl clumps or curl families, as I like to call them, is to actually hover your diffuser over those areas. Don'T go in directly and scrunch with your diffuser before the product has started to dry, so you can go ahead and set that product by just gently hovering your diffuser at a low speed and warm or cool air over that area. So I like to use warm air because, although it can cause a little bit more frizz and it does increase the drying process significantly and like I said I had less than 20 minutes to get my hair from fully wet to fully dry. So if I had done that on cool, I never could have finished within that time range. It would take me at least twice as long on cool air for the entire diffusing process. So, while you're watching me just continuing to diffuse my hair I'll talk to you a little bit about what I used before styling my hair uh today I used the away curly hair bath. That'S my favorite shampoo that I've been using for a while now um. It really enhances the curl pattern and it doesn't make hair feel heavy, so it can be used on fine hair as well. I'Ve actually not been using conditioner at all for the past six wash days, but today I did use the away frequent use conditioner. This is their lightest weight and best for fine hair or for achieving volume conditioner. It is also best for people who wash their hair more than once a week. So if your hair is fine or you wash your hair more than once a week or you just like lots of volume - and you don't want to give up conditioner, the frequent use conditioner is what I'd recommend. But I also recommend try skipping conditioner after using the away curly hair bath, just make sure that you fully distribute the curly hair bath work it through your hair. Just like you would a conditioner and let it sit for at least three minutes I like to leave it in for like five or seven minutes, and I can literally see my hair curling up more and more as it sits in my hair. You just want to be sure to fully rinse it out, especially if you're not going to condition after because shampoos are not made to be left in the hair. So once I have dried my ends enough that I can feel a little bit of the product cast. Having dried on them, then I'll move on up into the upper layers of my hair and The Roots this specific blow. Dryer has these long teeth you can actually retract and extend to them I'll, go deeper into that in my review of this um dryer that I'm going to be doing soon, but it is useful for getting in close to the roots and without disturbing the curls a Whole lot because the teeth have little holes and air actually blows out of them, so you can get in and dry those roots uh for without actually having to press the diffuse itself, all the way to the head, which would smoosh your curls a lot. So I also like to get in at the back root area of my hair with the diffuser. This really helps with volume and I think a lot of the time. This area of the head is just sort of ignored in the drying process. But if you give your give a lean and get in at the back roots of your hair, it does help increase the total overall volume of your style. If volume is what you're going for and if you're not going for a volume. What you want to do, honestly is air dry. Air drying is going to get you the least amount of volume to your hair. But if you don't have time to air dry, then you can hover your diffuser kind of like how I was demonstrating earlier just on the top area of my hair, where I had added more curly potion, you can do that all over until it's fully dry and Don'T do any like leaning or lifting with the diffuser, because that's going to increase volume, but not everyone wants more volume to their hair. So that's just a little bit of a adjustment that you can make a modification for you. So once my hair is almost dry, I'll switch the dryer to a high speed setting and start going through and scrunching to help soften the cast, that's on my hair from the product and also to to speed up that drying process without causing a ton of frizz. If you use a higher speed in the beginning, it's going to make your hair really frizzy, but once your product is mostly set and your hair is mostly dry, you can then amp up your drying process by increasing the speed on the airflow, so that you can Get done faster, I checked. The time realized I needed to get moving, so I'm going to sacrifice a little bit of definition to get my hair dried faster and I still have it on the lowest warm setting. Now I'm going to start utilizing my hands as well to further get volume at the root and also to further soften any product cast. So for me I did use quite a bit of product today for my hair, especially after conditioning I find that after conditioning, I really need to use less styling product, but it's easy to forget that I should use less when I am conditioning my hair, because the Conditioner already leaves a little bit of a product residue behind um, so yeah I definitely probably did not need to use as much product as I did, and I'm going to need to work a little bit harder to try to soften the gel cast. So I am hovering the diffuser just for airflow on that high speed setting and warm air, and I'm using my hand my other hand to scrunch out the crunch as they like to say on the internet, um and also I'm checking for where my hair is still Wet with that hand, so that I can focus the airflow on those areas as well to go ahead and finally get my hair to a state of being completely dry. So once my hair feels like it's dry, I will shake it out a little bit. I like to let my hair cool off, because it's pretty warm from the diffuser I like to let it cool in a leaned forward position which helps just set in a little bit of extra volume, and then I go in and I fluff my roots stretch them. A little bit because I, like my hair to look a little bit longer so I'll stretch my roots a little bit just with my fingers, I personally don't use, picks or Combs or anything in the roots that might cause breakage. I just really like to work with my hands because I trust my hands. I'Ve practiced a lot with my hands and that's what has helped me to get the least amount of damage and breakage in my styling routine. So, if you're trying it out for the first time, it takes a little practice, but don't give up on yourself. You'Ve got this and look under 20 minutes ready to go to work have a great day guys

Terry Gore: It turned out so pretty, Stephanie I've always thought you had the prettiest hair

Bree White: Simply gorgeous—All. The. Time. Thanks for the video. ❤

BionAvastar3000: Nice results! I don't think I could spend that long drying my hair unless I was blowdrying it straight

Mary C: Thank you so much for this video Stephanie. Your diffusing style is the opposite of mine. I, like you, I hold water at the ends of my hair but I don’t have the long hair you have. My hair is chin length btw. When I wore my hair straight, I omitted conditioner because it weighed down my hair too much. Perhaps I should it omit now as well. It’s so neat to see you hair volume plump up in front of my eyes. Beautiful as usual. Ciao Bella.

Anette Becker: I'm amazed at how quickly you can dry your hair. It takes me an hour at least. What settings do you use and do you pixie diffuse the ends?

Elissa Carroll: Amazing! Wonderful video Stephanie. I am so curious as to what Denise has been using product wise during your transitions between Oway and MyVeg. Has he stayed true to the After sun shampoo? haha. I'd love to know

Nynke VDV: I bought the curl primer and the sublime hair milk. I wash my hair with the oway curl potion followed by the new silicone free smoothing conditioner. As soon as i step out of the shower my hair already feels a bit dry, but when i apply the curl primer my hair becomes sooo dry and tangled. I don't have this problem as much with the sublime hair milk. Any tips of how to prevent this? Personally i feel like the way conditioners aren't moisturizing enough which is why i sometimes switch back to brands like innersense. Your videos have been very helpful and i have been limiting the use of plastics and fragrances so much!

Dolores Haynes: I’m almost 74 I have wavy hair, some curls and when wet it comes down past my shoulders ,however once out of the shower it shrinks up to shoulders, and gets fat, and no real definition . I am one of those that doesn’t wear my hair natural just because of that. I either blow dry and flat iron or do a roller set. I love my hair when it’s wet in the shower but not once I get out not so much, suggestions? I also don’t want volume Thanks Dee

Lisa Burkhead: Thank you for the video. I would like to try the Oway products and wondering, are they scented? I get migraines from scented products so avoid them . Your hair looks great! Also did you say you are going to be doing a dyson vs shark dryer video? I need a new dryer and wanted to try one of the better ones but not sure what to get. Thank you!

Emer O'Connor: Have you tried the Oway curl primer - it is really amazing.

Holy Spirit Breathed Media: Hey Stephanie, the skipping conditioner part, is it only for the owah products? Or can someone try it without the owah product? Thanks

Judy Jergins: Best hair in the world ❤
