Can We Wear Ponytails Over 50 ? Mature Women'S Hairstyles

I discus the topic of wearing your hair in a Ponytail and an Updo when you are a Mature Over 50s Woman

Hi everyone, it's michelle, thank you so much for stopping by today guys and spending just a little bit of your time with me. I have a controversial hair topic for you today. It'S all about how we should wear our hair or not wear our hair over a certain age when we are mature women i'm over 60, so i think i qualify for being mature today is about hairstyles for mature women. One is ponytails and two is wearing your hair and updo. I have been told recently that ponytails are too young for mature women. Mature women should not be wearing their hair in a ponytail and that wearing your hair in an updo, a messy bun or any kind of updo will make you look older recently. I did another video about, should we wear our hair longer over 50 or at least over 55? Should we keep our hair long or should we all get it cut off short above the shoulders short? That video was not meant to be about me and my hair? If i should cut my hair or keep wearing it longer, it was about all ladies who choose to wear their hair longer, particularly over 55 and over 60, and this video is not about me either. A lot of other women and hair stylists say no stop wearing ponytails they're. Only for younger women wearing your hair up is aging. Today, i'm going to attempt those two styles, the ponytail and the updo. I'Ve chosen two different videos on youtube: two different, ladies doing their tutorials. One is for the ponytail and one is for a shinyon. I'Ve never done these styles before i didn't test them out before this video. I thought i'd share that with you and see how i go so if they don't work out too well. Well, just remember it's my first attempt in between doing the styles for you, i'm going to be following on my phone, these particular videos giving me the instructions. The tutorials, the first instruction, is to split my hair in half from the ears up and then pin the top bit on the top and leave the bottom bit. Underneath that's going to be the start of the ponytail the bottom bit. Here i go from the ears up. She keeps the part in her hair, which i guess i'll do too. As soon as i put my hair back, i lost the part. Well, i guess i'm going to go without a part. I don't wear my hair in a ponytail for a style, it's not a stylish hairdo. For me, i wear my hair in a ponytail because it's practical when i'm in a hurry when i'm busy, when i'm having a bad hair day and particularly with mask wearing which we're not doing at the moment. But for a very long time. We were wearing masks and i found with wearing masks. It was much easier to put my hair either up or in a ponytail, the top half, so we're going to clip it to get it out of the way. The next bit is to take the underneath part and brush that right up, because that's going to be the ponytail and we're going to put the elastic in that and apparently the reason that she does it. This way is so it's not sagging underneath here. So you don't get that big sag here, which i usually get next, would suggest that you take your ponytail and you separate it in half top half bottom half in the middle of that you put one of these tiny little claw clips in there. Apparently, this is going to give us more volume and more height. Now, it's time to let the top part down and what i'm going to do then, apparently, is a little bit of teasing on the top after you do. The teasing that whole top bit is to be brushed out, i'm not very fond of teasing. I only did just a little bit. The next stage was to take the top part back and combine it with the underneath ponytail and use your elastic to make one big ponytail. Okay, so there's the ponytail, i think, there's one thing she might have said was make sure you make the underneath ponytail sit. Quite high, i don't think i put mine up high enough and the other thing she didn't mention. If you have really fine hair, you might need to use hairspray or something to keep it down. No amount of pulling my hair and trying to keep it really straight up. The back is going to stop those fine bits from falling out. I have a lot of hair, but it's very fine. I'M not really sure that that made any great difference to me wearing a ponytail. It might have helped a little bit, but i would need a little bit more practice than that. I'Ve just started wearing my hair straight back off my face with ponytails and updos. I never had before, but i saw that somebody said that that actually is a better look. I'M so used to putting the little bits down here in the front, the layers that i have in the front and i'm tempted to do that right now, but i'll leave. It like this, although what do you think what do you think when i pull the bits down, do you like it straight back or do you like a little bit of detail around the front? Usually, when i put the detail around the front, i curl it with a curling wand, or i just put my hair clips in there and leave them in for 15-20 minutes, and then i put some hairspray over that to set them like this really sophisticated. I just roll it up old-fashioned style like we used to when we were young or like our mothers, did. It hasn't been left in long enough, but the idea is, it just gives me a little bit of wave there in the front. This is what i look like with the ponytail. Am i too old now? Am i too old? Is this look for a younger woman? Please keep in mind it's not about me. It'S about all mature, ladies, that are wearing their hair longer, so we're going up here with another section and we're to put an elastic in the next ponytail under there's another ponytail under the first ponytail and take the big ponytail. Oh, i need a hair gps for this, i'm getting lost, i better check what she's doing um, there's lots of ponytails and splitting and putting up and down. I know i just did something well it's hard to keep track of this. Now, apparently, we create the bun that is by wrapping it around and what and what i'm gathering this is the bun this bit up here is the bun and this wraps around the bun. That'S what i'm gathering from listening! That'S what i'm gathering from listening, but oh these! These do! These do get complicated. My tutorial didn't work out. I should have practiced beforehand the whole braid idea and twisting the braid just didn't seem to work. So i just braided in the traditional sense of the three strands of braiding three strands of hair, and i pinned it all up and just pulled it all out. Anyone that's ever watched. My videos have seen me many times wearing an updo. I love to wear my hair up. Sometimes i think it looks a little bit more stylish, but the main reason is, if i'm having a bad hair day, which i have plenty of so back to the topic at hand. I know you're going to leave me comments and i'm going to welcome them. So much. Are we too old for ponytails to updos messy buns? Do they all make us look older? Do they age us over a certain age mature? Ladies? I i don't believe they do for women 50, but perhaps for women getting closer to 60 and over 60 do they age us bye. Everyone thank you for watching, have a lovely day.

TheGrayLatte: Hi Michelle I love a little detail around the front when I wear a updo (I feel less librarian looking lol!!). Great subject Michelle & I do not feel ponytails/updo never age a women, I think a messy bun is super cute!! Have a fabulous week beautiful!! xx Karen

Sandy B: Hi Michelle, looking lovely as usual! I don't think it matters, I think we should just do what we like and what we enjoy! However having said that I think I prefer it when you have your hair up with the strands to frame your face, it just shows your pretty face more and looks softer! Have a great week ahead! x

Love Street: Hi Michelle, I don't think pony tails are aging at all. I liked the one you created and I liked when you did pulled a little bit just to frame the face. In the past (a couple months ago) I have seen you in an updo and I liked how you just pulled a liitle bit around your face. Well anyway I liked it so much I thought I would try it but for some reason it just doesn't look as good on me. Maybe my front hair is just too thin and wispy so it doesn't look as good as yours. I have tried other hair turtorials like you were doing and they make it look so easy but when I do it it doesn't work LOL but I have found a couple that I like. Good tip about putting the liitle claw clip in too give the pony tail a little volume. Thanks and great video as usual:)

Donna Atiga: We’re never too old for pony tails. I like your pony tail with the pieces in the front. I prefer longer hair as there are so many different hairstyles to try.

INSIDE BEAUTY with the old girl: Hi Michelle, my hair isn’t long enough for a nice ponytail but if it was I would wear one. You look great in a ponytail or an updo, very youthful styles to me.hair down or up, we are free to do whatever we want! Much love, Sheila

Jenny Brandt: I like the detail around the front. I'm 67 and am wearing ponytails for the first time. I don't even think I look that great with a ponytail but I love how feminine I feel. You look great with a ponytail.

Leeanne Dolly: No Michelle, don't cut your hair. Your hair is so beautiful and suits you. You are never too old to wear a ponytail. Just pull a few strands around your face to soften the look. I have to do that as I have a wider face. Lee-Anne

Robin Allgold: You look very nice with the ponytail, definitely like the little bits hanging down in the front. I thought the updo would have looked better if you would have left some hanging down also. My personal preference is to let my long hair hang down and I have a personal reason for this. I was a member of an Amish/Mennonite church for about 20 years and always had to have my hair up and covered. After leaving that type of church there was no way I wanted to have my hair like that ever again. LOL Thanks again for another interesting video.

Sarah Revela: I am 64 and I love wearing my shoulder length bob in a ponytail. I also have a deep and wide fringe. I don't think it ages me! In fact, I think a short layered style would make me look older...but to each her own, people should opt for what makes them happy, not because of rules.

Real Chicks TV: Hi, Michelle! You look beautiful. The ponytail on you was darling, especially with the light waves around your face. No, you/we are not too old for ponytails. Isn't it funny how we are told what is "proper" for us after we reach a certain age? Great video. - xx, Carla

Beyond50Skin: Thanks for trying all those updos. I think Hairstyles depend more on face shape than age

Jlina A: Wow that's a lot of work for a ponytail :) I thought ponytails were universally acknowledged as anti-agers as they give you a facelift? But then what do I know I've had the same long hair since I was 15 years old and I don't intend to change it at 65!

Angela Dailey: It looks great either way. But I do believe it looks more pulled together when you have it straight back.

Palm Springs Cindy: Both styles look stunning on you. Perfection !

Jana's Space: Hi Michelle..it is not about ageing, just about comfort to me...off the face it goes when I need it and back down again...up and down...like my moods and health issues...You look beautiful in any of these styles...and ponytail is always lovely option for woman of any age..take care hug J

Tracie Beauty: I like the ponytail with the wisps around your face, I think it looks great! I like the pony better than the bun. I can not wear my hair straight back, it's not a good look on me.

Cyndi Thoman: I am 56 years old I wear a ponytail to keep my hair off the back of my neck during the summertime cuz it's too hot. I go out with my sons my oldest one is 39 years old and my youngest one is 37 and they get told oh gee you should be nice to your girlfriend. Well let me tell you when I say I'm not the girlfriend I am their mother they're like oh blah blah they stumble over words and they apologize and we all stand there and laugh because. So in one hand here it can be a bad thing in the other hand it can be really good thing I think it depends on the person.

liedyMc: I like the bits down , no we are never to old as long as you are loving how we look… Michelle my hair does look awesome on me short but I got lazy the last 2 years… I believe us gals need wear what we feel fabulous in no matter our age :) XoX

Ada Solly Styling: This is so interesting. I like some detail around the front of the face.

ZD Lifestyle: This was great - I do like a ponytail when I had hair.

jan Peters: think, you could wear a paperbag on your head and still look WONDERFULL..love your style

Lindy Sellers: You look fantastic and can rock that ponytail, my friend! My ears stick out too much to wear one. I'll just admire yours.

Christine Dean: Hi Michelle , 67 soon and long hair , I often wear a pony tail , flip my head upside down and tie the elastic ,gives me one on top of my head , didn't like the braid , I thought it made you look old ,sorry I haven't been on here ,have been busy being totally flooded ,twice. xx

Eva Peat: Prefer the pony tail with detail round the front on you compared to the bun. It makes you look younger. The bun, I feel is neither here nor there

Elaine worsfold: I think you look better with the two side pieces on the ponytail we all tend to loose temple hair with age all this hair dressing stuff is fine if you’re neck and shoulder joints are good mine aren’t I am sixty long thick hair and I will do what I like and what I can love you elaine Lincolnshire U.K.

Maria P: You look absolutely stunning.

ConnieMurphyOver70stillglam :) : HI Michelle TFS I like the hair on the sides for you. hug connie

Eydi Myers: 67 yo, long, below waist length silver hair...works for me

Mark: Hello Michelle Nice post and Your Hair Always Look Great, Have A Safe week

Sammy: Well the loose ponytail is cute on you; It looks stylish on you. However, everyone does not look good with a ponytail.

Cindy Neese: I liked it because didn't practice. So much fun.

Grace Chan: You look great with a ponytail and a a bun Michelle I havr ģhshort hair because long hair does not suit me at all Take care Michelle & thabk youý for lovely video❤

New Star drawing: Very nice

Quietly: Lovely either way.

LOUIS VARGHESE: ❤️❤️❤️
