Let'S talk about yeah, this is heatless curls. Why hello there! Thank you for hanging out with me on today's video. We will be playing around with and testing out this set of heatless curls. I know this wad doesn't look like that, but this is heatless curls that I ordered off of Amazon yay. Now, before you say anything, I am aware that there are like really nice versions of this out in existence, but I did want to kind of test it out without spending a lot of money on it and see if my hair just loved it. If it was new and revolutionary and going to change my hair life, so without further Ado, let's jump right into how life-changing are heatless curls. This particular version of heatless overnight curls, all right. Let'S go rewinding in time to win this whole fun experiment started. This was two nights ago and it's rather late - and I am very sleepy - my hair - is clean. These are the products that I use to wash my hair with, and I am going in with the Moroccan sea salt spray from OGX. I am testing out a variety of sea salt sprays and this one is perfect for heatless curls, it's not terribly gritty and it has a team nightsy bit of argan oil in it, which helps nourish and hydrate the hair and offset some of the crazy grittiness of The sea, salt, but the sea salt is going to help my hair air dry and add some extra texture to my hair. Now I'm going in with the curl talk curl activating mousse. It has a hold level of two. This is one of my favorite mousses, for when I style my hair, wavy curly, it has a very touchable hold, does not make my hair feel producty or gunky grabbing just a smidgen, because my hair is towel. Dried I'm not going to grab as much as I would normally and I'm going to just distribute this through my hair by finger detangling kind of gently combing it through evenly Distributing it trying my best to make sure that every strand of hair gets a gentle coating Of mousse, which is going to add some hold and give these heatless curls their best chance possible of lasting, have played around with these heatless curls a few times, and this method definitely does give me the best results using these two leave-in products of the sea. Salt spray and the mousse once I've got that thoroughly finger combed through my hair, I'm going to finish, Distributing it using my wet brush. That'S a shine, Wet Brush, I think, is what it's called. It'S got some more bristles along with the long detangling bristles. It really does smoothly distribute product on damp hair. Now, if I were to try and put in the heatless curls right now, it would never dry. So I'm going to air dry, my hair a bit. It is now very late at night and my hair is about 80 percent dry now that we're in the home stretch and I'm incredibly sleepy, let's put in these heatless curls, I'm going to separate my hair into two sections and tie it out of the way using One of the silk scrunchies that comes in the kit once that is Thoroughly secured. I can work on sort of braiding my hair around this. I don't know what to call it. This squishy foam noodle. So what I'm gon na do is separate my hair into two sections and I'm going to take the front section and wrap it all away around. Then I'm going to take the back section and wrap it all the way around that tube. Now I'm going to grab a section of hair and gather it into the front section and wrap it all the way around and I'm going to pick up a section from the back and add it to the back section and wrap it all the way around making Sure that it is really nice and smooth, so the section in the back will always stay in the back, and the section in the front will always stay in the front and I just keep repeating Gathering hair as I go. It'S sort of like a French braid a little bit, but not entirely so once I get to the ends, I'm going to very carefully make sure that they are wrapped around and smooth if there are any creases in it. Those will show up when I take out these heatless curls, so I'm trying my best to make sure that the ends are nice and smooth before I secure them with the silk scrunchie. Now I'm going to do the other side, and this is what it's looking like. I really think that this is actually quite pretty. I kind of want to make this a hairdo. Can we make this a hairdo? Everything is really nice and smooth. So hopefully I can lay on my good night's sleep. This is what it is looking like in the morning next morning, yay this piece did fall out overnight, but what are you gon na do so now, I'm just going to slip these silk scrunchies off and see what we're working with everyone just pulls this out and Voila curls are revealed except I'm stuck. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to gently pull this off the side of my face and loosen it just a bit and there we go now. I'Ve got one side slipped out again, I'm just going to gently pull this away from my face and it falls right out so if you've tried this and they get stuck, try that now, I'm just very gently separating everything not running my fingers through my hair. I want to leave as much of this intact as possible and then, instead of running my fingers through it, I'm just going to give it a really good fluff. Oh Mylanta, I absolutely adore how this looks right after I take the tube out of my hair seriously. I don't know what to call it but check out these shiny soft touchable waves. It seriously does look amazing and I really love this. This is one of my favorite heatless Styles. When I take it out, but here's the bummer, I don't know what the deal is with this particular heatless style. It does not last on me even using the sea salt spray and the mousse. This is what it's looking like at the end of day one now. Let'S be fair, a good root, fluff can solve many problems and, let's see, if that magically fixed and revived the hair, not so much a little bit better, but it's a bit of a bummer that this doesn't last as well as I want it to, and here We are on day two right after taking my hair down out of the overnight pineapple, judging some good old dry shampoo into my roots. If you want to know what I think about curly hair friendly dry shampoos, wait is it over there. The link will be in the eye from our previous video and for those of you who have clicked on this video and haven't been hanging out with me for a while. Typically on this channel, I talk all things: wavy, curly hair. We talk about tips and tricks from the curly girl method that improve the health of your hair, I'm all about embracing the hair that you are fearfully and wonderfully made with, and I'm always looking for Less damaging ways to style my hair and that kind of fit In this category, if you're wondering how heatless overnight curls work, they work by manipulating the hydrogen bonds in your hair. These are the weakest Bonds in your hair that are broken and reformed. Every time you get your hair wet, so it is manipulating some of the bonds in your hair, but it is not the most damaging hair practice out there. Also here I am rattling on without showing you the day two hair. I mean you're kind of looking at it, but let's take a real good look at it, really quick, also it's cold in my house, so we're back to sweaters. Okay, so here are my final thoughts on this version of heatless overnight curls, I'm not feeling it guys, I'm not feeling it. This thing to sleep on is incredibly uncomfortable. That could be remedied by maybe getting a nicer one where this foam piece is like more squishy, but this is this is pretty squishy, so I'm not sure how much softer and squishier we can get. That would make it more comfortable to sleep on. I have tried this out a multitude of different ways and I will say that this version worked best. I think altering my shampoo and my conditioner using a really protein heavy leave-in and a little bit of mousse and sea salt spray for more grit and hold was a good plan. My hair does feel okay, it doesn't feel dry or weird or producty, and the curls are sticking around better than they have. But honestly, if I don't do all that stuff, the curls fall out within two hours and if I'm gon na be uncomfortable all night, long sleeping on heatless overnight curls. I want them to last. Really, I feel like I get better results when I do my normal wavy curly, wash day routine, where eye wash and style as normal. If you want to know what that looks like video will be linked in the eyes, still don't remember which direction it is all right guys. Thank you so much for watching today's video. I hope it was helpful if, if you are still feeling like trying overnight curls for yourself I'll, have it linked in the description down below, but maybe you've tried it. Maybe you've already figured out how to make it work. I would really appreciate you sharing your insights with us in the comments down below. Let'S help each other out, because I didn't have a whole lot of luck with this one and I'm bummed. It looks so good right after you take it out. I just can't get them to last. Hmm, I want more. I want more. This is too loose. I want beachy heaven in my hair. This didn't. Do it all right guys, I hope, you're having an absolutely fantastic day, and I will see y'all in the next video make sure you're subscribed click the notification Bell. Let'S hang out some more okay, bye,

Nicole Burkholder: I was excited to see you try this. I do robe curls all the time these days. I bought a thing to do them on Amazon but found that the fluffy, soft belt to my robe works better and is more comfortable to sleep in. I followed the tutorial from Laineymariebeauty and have had great results. I do think that I take smaller sections at the top than you did in this video.

Tex: I have similar hair to yours, and I do love these heatless curls for myself. I have the same issue as you of the curl falling by the end of the day, BUT I find it’s waaaay easier than the CGM. I will say that I only bother with this once a week, because yes, as you pointed it out, it’s not comfortable to sleep in. However, I wasn’t even bothering with the CGM anymore but every few months because I find it so tedious and time consuming to get the results I like. And, in case anyone is wondering I have a $30 doohickey and a $10 doohickey both from Amazon to do these overnight curls, and I find the cheaper more comfortable to sleep in and the curl tighter. The extra foam in the more expensive one is dreadfully uncomfortable for sleep and gives me a looser curl. If you’re interested in trying this out, I’d definitely recommend going cheap. Now I’d just like for someone to come into the comments, and share how they get their overnight curls to last longer

Julia's Hair Journey: I love how your content is relatable and you are willing to try a product most people could afford to buy on Amazon.

Anne Marie Richards: I don't use it for heatless curls. BUT it is great to put in at night before bed to maintain my curls for the next day! I have never had better next day/third day hair!

Kirsti Riggs: Yes! You can make it a hairdo with a scarf headband! It's super cute. ❤

Sabina Hertzum: Maybe you need to take smaller sections to get it to last longer… its really normal that bigger curls fall faster - and by taking smaller sections you have more ‘single curls’ instead og huge curl clumps…

Mattar: I personally find this method works on 3rd or 4th day hair (2nd if greasy) so after a regular styling routine with leave in and gel/mousse, then slightly mist the hair, and leave on overnight. Usually lasts all day because of the extra grit my hair has after a few days

Amy Senffner: That contraption is a whole more comfortable than the rollers I did for years. They work a whole lot better than contraption. Just more painful. Love this video!!! Thank you

Maureen: I appreciate you doing this so much. Best video on how to do this. I am finally going to use mine, because of you. You have the sweetest personality and I love all your videos!

meowzer3: robe curls using the robe belt is very comfy (for me at least) and works wonderfully!

Bexwizard0142: Hi Courtney. I don’t know whether anybody has mentioned this, but as you have a finer hair texture and a wavy hair texture, you may be better off using a less chunky hair implement (as opposed to the thick foam bands) in order to manipulate your hair into heartless waves or curls that have more longevity. I’ve seen people do it with thin robe ties, thick robe ties, long socks (which is really handy because you can roll the sock over the end of the curl clump on either side to protect them when you are sleeping. Not that I’ve looked but I bet you can get knee high or over the knee satin socks if you want them as silky smooth as possible. However, you’re soft, hydrated, very well looked after highly moisturised hair could do with something maybe to grip onto more, meaning the tool that you’re using to wrap your hair around maybe needs to be something that is slightly more coarse in order for your hair to really adhere to it and for you to get the best results. Equally I might use this on a more protein heavy treatment day as your hair won’t be quite as soft and weighed down with the glossiness of the products and may keep its hold a little better. However, as I’m sure you know, sometimes our curls will flop One day and be perfect the next having done the exact same routine and used the exact same products so a lot of it is yes you know trial and error but I just think that on your extremely soft glossy not very frizzy and not super long hair that one of the methods I have suggested may work better for you. I really hope this helps thanks for your video

Jennifer Beardall: Courtney, welcome to wet set nation! Don't give up. Keep experimenting with water temperature, barrel size, product, number of wrapping iterations, wrapping direction, wrapping tension, level of dampness at wrapping, number of barrels!...etc., etc., etc. This is just another exercise in embracing your hair. Wet-setting is the only way I can get my 2a mermaid-length hair to do anything fun without driving me crazy.

Tina T: Beautiful! I don't think my shoulder length hair is long enough, but I think I will try anyway lol. Super cute. It almost looks like a blow out. I wonder if you used gel if it would hold longer?

Mother Coconuts: I use a thick bathrobe and I don't even know it's in when I'm sleeping. I actually like how it looks as the waves fall out; my natural waves always gets extremely stringy as the days go on, whereas I feel like my hair looks better for multiple days in a row if I put bathrobe curls in. I just accept the looser waves as part of curly hair life

Karen Keith: If you thought that contraption was uncomfortable to sleep with it in your hair, just remember that 40 to 50 years ago we use to sleep with curlers in our hair all the time. What we did back then to look good! My mother has a permanent indent in her skull from a curler.

Christy Price: Courtney! Your hair has gotten long, so pretty!

Bethany Rose: Would it help to add hair spray after you take the tube out to help hold the curls in?

Mystery LovesCompany: Use setting lotion instead of sea salt spray + mousse, & those curls will last for days.

R E: I use a thin scarf with the same wrap method and it is more comfortable. I spray my hair with a spray gel before wrapping instead of mouse and it stays longer for me.

Cindy MacInnis: Hey Courtney. I need some advice. I’ve been practicing CGM for over two years and am on the verge of giving up. My hair is 2a/b and some c. I have tried all kinds of routines. My hair looks great when I first do it but falls flat throughout the day. Uggg! I’m getting tired of the multiple products (have an extensive collection) and long to find my holy grail. I’ve always been able to scrunch and go but not now. I’ve even tried a curling iron lately but me hair doesn’t respond at all. Advice please!?

Julia Szym: Wonderful!

saffy saffy: Commenting again. I saw a video where they used a stretchy headband Put it on like crown and used gel. It looked great for days! Her hair was same length as urs and maybe same texture

FrizzyPoofyScooby Fan: Beautiful

Angela Gibson: Bath rope tie works well for this I want to try the one with more ropes.

saffy saffy: only.problem is how do u get height and body on the top of ur head?

Brief little candle: Maybe have wetter hair and sit under a dryer for a bit after you put the contraption in your hair? Also maybe use a hard hold gel
