Hey you guys welcome back to my channel for anybody. That'S new here, I'm shell and I like to share tips and tricks on how you can grow and maintain healthy hair. So today's topic is going to be all about hair growth. We are going to be talking about a lot of the reasons why I see people hair, not growing and why they hit a plateau and why they may be struggling. So the first reason is that your hair is deprived of moisture. You want to make sure you have a hydrating and moisturizing routine and you want to make sure you're doing both. So the difference between hydration and moisture is that hydration is the process of using humectants and proteins which helps improve the absorption of water into our hair strands, which improves the ability for our hair to lock in that moisture. And so what moisture is? Is that you using oils Butters to seal the hair and lock in that moisture, you want to make sure that you are using the correct products that are going to moisturize and hydrate your hair. So an example of hydrating. Your hair is using a deep conditioner Because deep conditioners, penetrate the hair strand and an example of moisture is using a leave-in conditioner and then on top of that, using a oil to lock in that moisture. So number two is excessively wetting using too much heat, brushing combing switching up your hairstyles too much. That'S all too much manipulation. So if you are going to wet your hair to refresh it, if you're going to use heat on your hair, if you are going to switch Styles, you want to do everything in moderation. So you don't want to do any of these things excessively, because what it does is it breaks down a cuticle layer of our hair. The cuticle layer is the outside layer of our hair. Its job is to protect the cortex. The cortex layer is the most important part because it determines our hair elasticity the strength, so you want the cuticle layer to protect the cortex layer. So if you are going to do anything to your hair, make sure you are doing it in moderation, you're, not overdoing. It number three your moisture and protein balance is off so nowadays I feel, like a lot of people are using more protein because we're doing a lot more to our hair, we're using heat. But the thing that I've noticed is that not only are people doing protein treatments every six weeks, but we're also using products with a lot of protein. So typically people start having protein overload and their hair is very stiff and it just doesn't style or act right. So, instead of giving yourself a time limit on how many protein treatments you're going to do, such as every six to eight weeks, try to just do it whenever your hair needs it, and that comes into like you. Knowing your hair and knowing your hair is porosity, because if you have medium to high porosity hair, you want to do protein treatments. But if you have lower porosity hair, you just want to use products with protein in them. And if you just don't know, it is okay to seek professional advice. So if you're like well, I don't know how you don't know like. If you have that moisture or protein unbalanced, then you just goes to a licensed. Cosmetologist they'll be able to assess your hair and let you know if you have moisture overload or protein overload and so for the moisture balance you want to make sure you are deep conditioning your hair and just using a regular, regular conditioner because they both serve a Different purpose, so when it comes to deep conditioning, you want to deep condition, maybe two to three times per month. It should be when your hair needs it. If you feel like your hair is always dry, you always need to deep condition weekly you might want to just take a check and look at your routine and see. Are you wearing styles, that are, you know not allowing you to deep condition like every on a consistent basis? So if you are wearing styles, that don't allow you to deep condition on a consistent basis, then you might want to you know, do a different style and get yourself on that routine of deep conditioning two to three times per month, um! Basically, when your hair needs it, and then you also want to condition in between that and to avoid moisture overload, you want to make sure you are not excessively wetting your hair every day. Number four, your stress levels are too high. You'Ve had covid flu, you having problems with your thyroid or some type of issue. If that happens, you can cause your hair follicles to go dormant. If they go dormant, then you go into this phase of the telogen phase and if your hair goes into the telogen phase is at a resting stage and then a lot of your hair can start to shed out. So you don't want to prolong your telogen phase. You want your hair to go into the regular phases that they typically would go in, which is antigen catagen, intelligent phase. So you want it to go through all three of those phases which is normal, but when you have some type of ill illness or you're sick or you having thyroid issues, you can cause the hair to remain dormant for a longer period of time and more hairs. On your head are going through that resting phase more than it should be, so you want to avoid that by managing your stress levels. So if you have any type of illness, you want to make sure you talk to your doctor and get some tips and tricks from them, so they're able to tell you how to manage it and keep your hair growing number five. Your hair routine is inconsistent with your hair goals, so I know a lot of people like yeah. I want to grow my hair, but the number one thing that I've noticed people slack on is trims. Like trims help you retain length because once you start to get those split ends, you don't want it to keep traveling up the hair shaft. So you want to be consistent with your Trims and a lot of people ignore this. You want to put yourself on a trim schedule with your stylist, so they are able to cut out any damage that you have and then once the damage is gone, you only have to go, get a trim, maybe twice a year, and then you can do dustings At home, where you just trim a little bit off or you can just strictly go to your stylist - have them do dustings in your Trims and it won't be too big of an issue or too complicated, because I know some people don't have the time to like Go into a stylist every two months, but if you be consistent with your trims, eventually you'll get to a point where you only need to go two to three times a year number six: you need scalp circulation and you also need some type of massage tool on The scalp frequently to lift dead skin cells, debris and all that product buildup off your scalp. So you want to make sure that you are cleansing your scalp. You want to make sure that you are using a growth. Oil growth oils are really good for promoting hair growth. They have, if you have a growth oil that has carrier oils herbs and essential oils. Those are three components that make up for a really good hair growth, oil and, of course, I'm always going to promote my own hair growth oil. So I'll leave the links to it down in the description box, but basically, with a hair growth oil. You have carrier oils and essential oils in them, and the carrier oil's job is to deliver those nutrients and those essential oils down into the hair follicle, which promotes hair growth, which circulates the scalp, because you need that blood flow going. You need that blood flow. You need that blood to deliver those vitamins and nutrients to that follicle, and you can do that internally with a healthy diet, and you can do that externally with the hair growth, oil and, of course the herbs are great for so many things. It'S good for promoting hair growth, it's good for circulation. A lot of herbs have anti-microbial benefits to them, so hair growth oils are really beneficial when you are trying to grow your hair and for number seven, the products and the routine that you have are going to help. You grow your hair. I know a lot of people say: oh products are products are tools, but they play a big role in hair growth. They play a big role in you, maintaining your healthy hair and when you are choosing these products in your routine, make sure it's based off your hair needs and the style that you are trying to achieve.
