Here are some really common mistakes. I see curly hair beginners, making all the time wash your hair. The moisturizing shampoo is great for, like dry, scalp and regular use, but you're going to want to clarifying shampoo to use at least once a month to remove all that. A lot of beginners avoid hold based, stylers all together because of that crunchy finish like a gel or a mousse or an alcohol-free hairspray. So that leads me to mistake: number three not breaking a gel cast, while some tighter curl patterns might leave the gel cast. Most looser curl patterns will use a light, hair oil to gently scrunch out the Crunch and restore volume.
