Hey girlfriends, I'm Bianca grenade you're watching Beyond grenade today and today, I'm back with the hairstyle Challenge, and today's hairstyle challenge is kind of an old trend for like Tick Tock when everyone was using a sock or a robe tie to make heatless curls. Now that sounds silly for me because I already have curls. So what I'm really trying to accomplish here, but I'm trying to see if I can get like stretch out big loose like wavy curls versus my tight coils, because you know I don't like for you to straighten your hair and use a curling wand because that's just Seems very counterproductive, but I got the little invention from Amazon and I'm going to try it today. So let's do a little unboxing. First, we get a headband two satin scrunchies and then the actual Contraption and a clip has little instructions how to use. So this girl has bone straight hair, so, first of all, we're very different. Uh start with slightly damp hair lightly, dampen the dry hair with a spray bottle or wet brush or drying your hair to slightly damp after shower. So here's the deal because we have very curly hair. We need to start off with it wet before it just dries and it's naturally curly state. So my goal was to do this at 8am. It'S now 8 p.m, and I'm just filming this video. So my hair is already like drying without uh any product, why it looks a little frizzy because there's nothing in it. But let's get started. So I am going to dampen my hair, but at least my hair isn't soaking wet because for the videos that I have seen, I saw a lot of Summer. Try this. I saw the Glam Bell. Try this and both of them, like their hair, took seven years to dry and my I know my hair also takes a long time to dry. So that made me nervous, because I don't really want to sleep with this hairstyle like you're supposed to do, because I just feel like when I sleep on it's just gon na get like undone and Frizzy and looks uncomfortable to sleep in so I'm gon na. Try to do this hairstyle with a heated, dryer or hooded dryer. Today we gon na see, but I mean it is bedtime, so I might just go to sleep all right. So just dampening it again. If you saw my last video, I am trying the new brand called bon bar. This is to strengthen my hair, so I'm going to continue to use this for the rest of the year and see what it does on my hair. So I'm going to use their step number six they're bonding styling cream and I'm going to kind of use it like as a leave-in before I do anything, but because I want there to be a little bit of hold, I feel like I should use a gel Or mousse, on top of this, and I'm gon na use this tangle teaser brush to kind of brush out my curls, like so a little bit more on this, I think I'm gon na get a better middle part going on. Okay grab my tangle teaser and I'm going to brush this out one more time from the looks of it looks like I need a trim, that's what that tells me, so I'm gon na add a little bit more product on my ends. One time for the lights check wow one time for the one time waist length. Wild got a long way, all right back to the instructions fix the middle position of the curling roller, with a hair clip on the top of your head. Okay, so here's my hair roller. This is literally just like a squishy piece of foam, that's wrapped in satin and I'm supposed to find the center. Let'S make sure it's even like that, put it right at the top and then we're supposed to clip it to our head. Like that, we're looking cute already, oh wait, I want to add more mousse start over. I want to add a mousse, because I think I need some hold. I'M going to use the night, your mother's curl, chalk, curl activating mousse to hopefully give me some more hold. I haven't used this in a while. Hopefully, this doesn't activate my curls now that I said that I just want you for the hold and I feel like a mousse is like a light enough option. I don't know, let me know if you've tried this before. Let me know if you've tried it with like a gel okay. This might be a bad idea. This might make my curls popping because it usually does but okay now we can go back to this, find the middle put it here and clip it. Then apparently, we're supposed to start braiding the hair from one side and wind it around the curling roller. So I think you're supposed to take a like a front piece like this: let's make a smaller section, grab the brush and we're going to brush it around this thing, like so, and then you're supposed to grab more hair, okay and then wrap it around, and I Believe you want to be as tight as possible, so if you're kind of trying to stretch out our curls, so you pull it and then I guess you grab some more okay, it's not too hard, but I did want to be brushing through. But now I need. Okay, all right there we go so pull it through grab some more hair brush it. This brushing thing is not part of it, but I saw Lana do it and it ends up getting dry. I get a haircut, that's what that's telling me. Okay, tight as possible! Grab some more hair, I think I'm doing it. I think we're getting somewhere see, so people have to do for curls like if this doesn't make. You appreciate your girls, I don't know what will look at me. Look at me. Well, in part, don't be messing things up, let's put some more mousse, maybe some cream so dry do this. While you have two hands, oh no, I just poured now I'm gon na kind of go up so that it get it all on here. Oh that's! Not! Gon na be cute, do not smooth it and wrap it. Okay, that seems kind of promising, then you're supposed to grab the scrunch sheet and then hook it on the bottom, so that it stays okay everyone's day. All right, I think I did it. I think we did something: let's try to get on this side and see if it does. If I do any better okay, I feel like that sound went a lot, smoother look at that. That looks pretty beautiful. I feel confident about this side. The first side, I don't know, might be taking pictures from one side after this hey look at me. I guess that's it. What'S what's his headband for the final look, I don't know what the headband is for. Is it to keep this flat? Is this part of it? This is not part of the instructions. Do it like this, keep it from being frizzy to sleep on it. I don't know so this point you're supposed to just sleep in it overnight: wake up with beautiful, curls uh. If you have straight hair, it might not take that long, but I am very impatient - and I kind of want to do this tonight, so I'm gon na try to use my hooded dryer. If you saw the first video of me using this, you know that this looks hilarious, but I wonder if I could fit all of my head in here and then we'll just just dry, it faster for those of us that are impatient. This is also from Amazon. How do I get this in there I put the whole head up. I guess I can go like this. Binge you in there see. Isn'T this so easy? Oh yeah, the little chin strap to really make it cute. Look at me. I don't know if the chin strap is necessary. There we go now. You need a blow dryer. I'M gon na have to use my curl Smith one because it has a nice skinny nozzle to attach two this okay. So you get your blow dryer! Okay! Here we go so I know what scares me three, two okay, I saw the anticlimactic plugging it in usually helps 99.9 of the time we weren't ready. We weren't ready. Oh, my goodness, it's scary, okay, three on my count. Three two one wait: let's do medium heat high heat um medium. Well, I ain't got all day and then we just sit here for like 30 minutes. Hopefully oh okay. Oh, I see, I know my ears are supposed to be in or out looking like an elf uh, it's hot in here I end up putting on the cool shot every now and then just to like cool down my head um took off the straps. It was just too high. Hair still feels wet. That was probably like 15 minutes. What, if let me make sure I'm not messing this up by bending them everyone's still? Okay, okay, I think it's getting there. Oh my ears are on fire. I don't know if they're supposed to go in there. What, if I just do one side at a time? Oh, oh! No! Oh no! You'Re supposed to stay tight! I need like another clip. It might be too late for you. Okay, we'll see putting this in here. Tightening it - maybe not, I saw Lana, try this as well. Let'S do it here. Okay, hold on oh, that's, too, hot on the ear, my ear out. Let'S do medium heat High. Okay, it's been 12 minutes on this side. Let'S see we're getting there. I did realize that this curl Smith diffuse is actually the perfect diffuser for this type of style, because I forgot it has a little kickstand, so I could just set it on the tablespoons. That'S great, but I think I'm tired of this. Let'S peek, I'm so impatient, not bad, but I don't think it's fully dried yet a little bit longer. Okay need the strap. Okay, I'm tired! I don't want to do any more. I feel like it's dry enough. Let'S just try it, let's just take it out. Let'S take out one side at a time and see: oh okay, we got a little curl action going on here like how do they take it off? Oh then, she pulls it up. Okay, we take this out. Oh take off the extra clips that I added. Oh, it feels wet in the middle wow and that is how you become Queen abidala, okay, interesting, okay, my hair's still wet. Oh, do I let it dry overnight. What'S happening, I just let it shake out. I mean it might have done something. If it was it's pretty wet, it's still wet it's not okay. Do I put it back in? Oh, no, oh no. I mean okay, this one's fully dry. I think that's what it's supposed to be. But honestly, since I have curls, there's just easier ways to get this look hmm well. Actually, now I look at it. Do I keep going? Okay? Let me, let me add some oil to it. No, it's still wet. That'S the problem. Okay, let me add some. My risos Curls, this is her new Strength. Oil. I haven't tried it yet, the more I look at it, the more I'm not as mad okay. This is a new Strength. Oil has lavender flax, seed, Moringa ooh foreign, like a tea. It'S gon na fix something slowly undo these oh and you want to do it. It makes it frizzier. Oh I don't know, I really don't know how I feel. Do I dare blow dry it? Can I diffuse it? What do I? What do I do with this type of curl? I feel like it doesn't look good up close, but on camera from afar. Well, very far, it looks different it needed to dry more. Let me try to diffuse: let's see what happens um, that ain't it that ain't it I can't tell if it's horrible or decent the ends are really a problem on camera. It doesn't look that bad. If you hide my ends, it's kind of like her Vibes, but you know I love my curls okay, Lessons Learned you got ta have patience, which is something I don't have. If I would have let it dry, it probably would have looked better right now. It kind of just looks stretched out and fluffy um, but it is, it looks. It looks. Okay looks okay right now, if you just don't look at it for too long, but if you have straight hair, this will definitely work a lot better for you. I think even for wavy hair, but if you have really tight curls like me, it's kind of hard to stretch them. I would say you have to make it even tighter than I did wrap it tighter and let it sit longer all things that I don't want to do. But the hairstyle challenge is all about trying new things challenging yourself, and this was my challenge of the days. Even waiting as long as I did - and here we are oh gosh - oh, if you enjoyed watching me struggle through this video, make sure to give me a thumbs up and subscribe. I post new videos every week the holidays are coming, so I am going to be doing a lot of giveaways, I'm actually giving away half of my entire curly hair collection, maybe more so I'll, probably be doing lots of giveaways on Instagram live. Nadia Sanchez: Girl many props cause I’ve always wanted to try but wanted to see how it would look on a curly head lol. And anyone hating on the blow dryer is tripping we all know our hair can take 7 business days to dry watching you struggle with the hooded dryer was comedy

Nayanika Nambiar: some of the comments aren’t passing the vibe check…it’s ok if her hair wasn’t fully dry because we have all miscalculated how long that takes and just done the thing anyway lmao. loved the video Bianca!

Troy White: I straightened my hair and use this and absolutely loved it. I never thought about trying it with my hair curly. I'm going to give it a shot

Melissa Delaney: I love that u allow yourself to be the guinea pig for us and not afraid to make us laugh in the process.☺️

truly_troyonna: Oh!!! Cool to see you try this. I saw another YouTuber I watch from Jamaica, Viv try this and it was a hoot. She slept with them over night and tied it down with a scarf and said it was actually pretty comfy to sleep in. Excited to see the results! Made it to the end and couldn't have related more. Nice try lol!

Deidra Aguilar: I'm trying the sleepy tie

Nikki2370: Can you do this again but leave it overnight? I truly wonder if it would work here

Courtney Haas: I give you props, i wouldn’t have the patience to even get my hair wrapped around the contraption I’m curious how it would look if it were completely dry before removing it

Honi Griffin: I love how you take the time to really try these products especially for enhancing our curly hair but girl I got to tell you with this one I don't see me doing this at all like you said I'd rather just embrace the natural curls that I have but I thank you for trying new things and giving us options to try new things I really appreciate your videos

Tierra George: I think the curls themselves are actually very very pretty and in my opinion, it looks great. I just think the top of it throws it off since it’s flat but other than that, I’d try it again and let it dry all the way through

leb251able: Thank you for doing this video. I have seen people with straight hair using it and it never crossed my mind to try it on curls. Thank you for being willing to do it because friend the way long, curly, low porosity hair is setup... Sigh. It takes my hair 6 days and 7 nights to dry and you have many more inches. I thought it came out cute but I agree it was a lot of work. The hooded dryer, your poor ears, the clips Appreciate you Bianca.❤❤

C. C.: Fun Tutorial. I think it worked; it just needed to be drier before taking it out. But so true, patience would've helped. Thanks for the effort! I will need to try this.

Gisha Palmer: Hi, this video showed up on my Google stream and I'm glad I watched. I've subscribed to your channel. Love your personality during this video. I struggle so much because my hair takes so long to dry. I try styles and my hair doesn't dry and it's all for nothing. If I want it to dry, it stays wet, if I want it to stay wet, I gotta get a spray bottle of warm water to keep it wet. It's a trip! I have low porosity hair just over bra strap length. I've never straightened it and I pull it every once in a while to see it's true length. I pull it slightly and it reaches to right before my lower back. I'm always looking for ways to style it without heat. Thank you for trying this and reminding me I'm not crazy, the struggle "is" real. Also, I think you look like Lena Horne. Thanks.

Mary: Beautiful hair as always ❤ with this pregnancy you’re looking exactly like your beautiful mother ❤❤❤

Kristine Casimir: I giggled so many times, this was hilarious! That flat middle part was what I couldn't get over

Romaine chinnock: Could u review a product for me call aunt Jackie's curl LA LA defining curl custard

Angelina Romano: Her vids are amazing I have curly hair and she helps so much

Sarah Pastrano: Your commentary always makes the videos awesome even if jt didn’t turn out the way you wanted!

Jabrea Chandler: I have one of these and I use all the time but I’ve never used it on my curly hair. I always use it when my hair is straight and it starts to lose a little bump or I wanna add some spiral curl then I use a that and then just spray with hairspray and sleep with it overnight. It’s really comfortable and I have a nice little beachy type of waves in the morning.

Whitney Davis: Really wanted to see what this was going to look like after it dried

Tierra Sangiacomo: Props to you, I absolutely do not have the patience to wrap and then let it dry?? Oh no. And doing it overnight out of the question I sleep like a wild animal. Lol great video Bianca! Also have you thought about trying MopTop? I’ve been intrigued with them for a little but want to see if they’re Bianca Renee approved.

Maya R.: I've wanted to try something like this for the longest! I just don't want to put in the effort since my hair's already curly

TRL: I used to watch your videos when I was 16 just growing my hair out and I couldn’t remember your name for the longest . You’re aging backwards truly

Washambi Swimp: I love Lana Summer! I love how nice and supportive curly yters are of their fellow curly yters!

Ashkenia Sims: Yes I agree with you this would be perfect for people with either straight or wavy hair not for us curly hair! I feel like even if you would of let it fully dry it would still be flat on the to & scalp area. It reminds me of Farrah Fawcett hair style- which again would be perfect for straight/wavy hair! Good try tho! Very entertaining!

Cashmere: Yess finally someone did it for curly hair we love

Ashley Branch: I just love your hair growth, I watched your Curl Smith hair growth update video compared to now and it's just growing and growing!!!! I love it!!!

Anna L: I would try to do this overnight, if you’d like to do it again. It’s actually very comfortable to sleep in.

Francheska S.: Thank you for sharing this it was interesting to watch. Have a great day

Abigail R Matambo: “WAIT WAIT, WE WEREN’T READY, WE WEREN’T READY!!!” cracked me up!!

Aaliyah Shabazz: I think this would’ve been cute if it was fully dry. It had potential. I would definitely try it

Kim Smith: Yeah girl them ends need a good trim for sure lol I just had the same thing happen with my hair poofy dry ends also hell no would I ever use this contraption.

Tierra Anderson: Gurl I tried this mess too and it was a slight fail for me too. It takes forever for your hair to dry

Oliris Ramos: I love that you try thing! I do wish you had a view of the back of your head for this and ALL your hair due videos... I would help me to see what I should be doing. LOL Thank you for all you do

Jennie b: I hope I make a pt 2 with it fully dry oh and I saw a girl use two.... One for the front and back which made it really good. I hope I film your trim I love those videos!

Destiny Parks: I think you should do this again and be H.E.R. for Halloween next year , would be so dope!!!

Lynelle L.: That was so cute...balloon dryer on one side at a time. Your hair has gotten sooo long! Nice results still. I have seen others with your hair type and if fully dried will look beautiful

Aj: Could you do a video on how to get low porosity hair to stay soft and moisturized throughout the entire day?

Brittany Lugiano: I’d love to see what you did with it for the week? Did you end up just rewashing and styling?

Brooke Elise Clark: Biancaaaaa! Please try this again and let it get all the way dry I need answers

Lois Berry-Rose: Laughed through this whole video, because I don’t have patience either!

Hope Ebersole: U didn't position it correctly u should've left it dry completely and it holds better using hair setting lotion. Great way 2 stretch my natural curls w/o using heat

K-Lee Atwell-Stoltz: I would love you to try it and let it dry fully. I can't use a blow dryer. It makes my hair so frizzy. I am a let it dry naturally girl.

Esmirna Peralta: Definitely enjoyed watching the struggle

Nikki2370: Seriously love you oh so much for your commitment here. I'm so nervous and excited omg

SANGREVERDE6: So relatable. I have no patience.

Faye Berman: You are much more patient than I am!

Geai Zee: I'm kinda curious how long it lasted until you washed it to get your curls back. ;-) I know me, I could never sleep with that on, smart idea trying the blow dryer.

Valerie Yates: I give you props for trying this hairstyle.

GC TEER: Oh my gosh! I laughed so hard!

Curls and Beyond with Janet : When you switched the dryer on

V Cadoree: Your Hair is Beautiful . But it was nice before you did anything to it. By the way I like your wit & Humor. Bless You.

Isme_E: You should try A real hooded dryer and let it dry fully

Marlina McCall: Your hair had to be completely dry for this work! Having your hair damp first, you should sleep in it.

Ayannah Lawrence: Bianca Patience is a virtue !

Genni Jackson: Lmao I'm glad I'm not alone with trying to do hair

Gisha Palmer: I think it would benefit us curlfriends better if it were a piece of Styrofoam or whatever material they used, with holes puched through it, and then wrap it in the satin cloth, so maybe it would dry the hair faster because the holes would allow the air/heat to flow through. I might make one and soak my Styrofoam in some oils before wrapping it. Still will be a long drying process tho.... Just me trying to force a no heat idea on my hair ‍♀️

Em-2013: Can you use that hooded dryer thing to dry a wash & go instead of diffusing??

FlowerPower 233: The curly hair just doesn't dry.

Monster Ville: I laughed so much lol you were fighting for your life

Gisha Palmer: Maybe cover the satin piece with mouse or Lottabody also, before rolling. Hmmm.. Oh boy, here I go.

Curlyana: I bought one of these and haven't tried it yet. Now I don't know if I want to. Lol

Megan Norat: Omg when you took the heat cap off for the first time I thought Princess Leia then you said Queen Amidala

LadyJ: No girl, this too much has work. I love your natural curls. The top isn't great either. No.

Resident Evil: I have one of those in purple hilarious

Jeannie Johnson: Curlfriend!!!! You are a friend indeed!!! I have to get a hood now because, well you know already ☺️

kbplus1: You gotta let it dry all The way! maybe re try and get under a real hooded dryer if you don’t wanna wait .

Erica Elliott: You are beautiful no matter what. But it would look better if you had let it set longer but not bad . You are beautiful no matter what.

CARLA C: I have never tried this before but I am willing to.

Shanell's_Vanity: This video is cracking me up for some reason

Carlene Clark: Nice looking style on you❤❤

Meek Rodriguez: Awesome channel

Simone Carpio: Yeah I think it needed to dry. Lol

Cecilia Morales: Some of the curls came out oretty good. Maybe if you fluffed it out. Not bad for a first try.

BLQ_Barrebi: Maybe a side part is better for that type of curl.

Quantrella Harrison: Ok. So this is clearly not for coily hair

Melle Sol: so impatient, B... lol

Chauchie Cortez: Glad you challenged yourself but you probably should’ve redone the style and redone the video before posting. The product does work - I feel like this was more user error. Your hair definitely needed to be completely dry. If you try it again, maybe stay under the dryer more like 25-30 minutes til the hair is half way dry and then air dry the rest of the way or just sit under the dryer for longer until the hair is completely dry. And patience is definitely needed! Play around with it and see what works. I do agree there’s easier ways for us curly-haired girls to get similar results without all this work.

A Marie: NO SHADE… but what’s the point of this video being heatless if you’re going to use a hair dryer? Your hair wasn’t even dry. If you don’t want to sleep with it so we can actually see how it’s supposed to work, perhaps you film when you can. This video made no sense.

Stacee Johnson: I feel like the effort was def lacking. You knew at 8pm u weren't gonna put in the effort to dry it like it should & this video was a waste. Sad becuz u always put in effort.

Hellina Habtamu: Don't film at night because you wer acting like a child. I don't want to do this anymore.
