Hey guys hope you're doing good. If this is your first time here then welcome, so I am about to do my hair. That'S why I have it in this lovely little heart situation. That'S going on right now, but this wash day is a little extra special. This is my pre-pre-prep for my protective style. That is a lot of alliteration lots of peas going on so after this particular wash day. The next wash day, I'm gon na be doing my medium twists. If you guys have been with me for a while. You know that that is my favorite protective style. I am very excited for the day when I learn and upgrade my editing software, so I can do that like cool picture and picture situation, but in the meantime, if you haven't seen my medium twist, this is what they look like foreign. So with my hair, I cannot do many twists, so it's medium Twist on my perfect compromise between that style. I can usually get if everything goes well three weeks without having to do my hair and it's a nice little break. If you saw my how I'm getting the best hair of my life, video that went up on my Channel at the beginning of this year, one of the things that I am doing for this year of super super healthy hair journey is that I'm going to be Doing a set of medium twists once per season, so this is my first set not only of the year, but my first set in like three freaking years. I think so it's been a long time for this wash day, I'm doing a few things so that when I put them in next week I can kind of like set myself up for success in the best way. So a couple of things I already did at the top of this year, namely I trimmed my ends. I did that maybe two or three weeks ago ends are nice and trimmed I'll be doing that again sometime around like the beginning of Spring. Another thing that I also did was last wash day. I did my heavy duty protein treatment, because something I'm trying to do now is shortly after trimming my ends. I want to also do a good protein treatment, so those newly shorn ends can be infused with some strength, kind of start them off guarding against breakage a little bit more and split ends. I use my trusty aphogee the care in two minute. Reconstructor I've been using this for like seven years or so. At this point I have a full review. This stuff is awesome for this wash day after I detangle shampoo, all that fun stuff, I'm going to be doing my henna treatment. If I like to do a combination of my more traditional protein treatment to get some strength, but I also like to follow up maybe a week or two afterwards using my henna, so that my hair can get those ayurvedic benefits and ingredients that also lend themselves while They'Re strengthening the hair, but a bigger Factor, probably for me using the henna. If you guys know, that is the way that I color my hair, and I want my medium twist to look really rich and fresh and with a nice little color update. That is going to be really really good, so the lighting in here, as always in this apartment, is very weird, but I have a lot of Grays that have grown out last time. I headed my hair was back in early November and my my roots are coming out to say hello. So hopefully, these steps that I'm taking today for this wash day are making the process of putting my twists in next wash day much much easier, because you guys the reason I have not done that style in three years is because last time I did them. I think it took close to seven hours. I am also preparing my mind and my back and like my my arms for that style, foreign going on today, I kind of like it. I just had a little snack because it is 3 P.M and I haven't eaten all day, so I need a little energy to do this style so so, smooth after rinsing out the henna. I think this is going to be a great base to work with next week, when I do my medium twist that smoothness is gon na lend itself very well to those teeny tiny little twists. So I am very, very happy with how it turned out. Grays are all nice and Auburn. The color is going to develop over the next couple of days in case you're wondering about my full henna process, how I mix it up applied to my hair rinse it out all that fun stuff. I have a full video all about that, so I'll link it up above here. So when it comes to styling after I henna I usually like to use just one product. So if Hannah the color continuously develops over the following days after you use it. So I don't like to cover up my hair with a bunch of products. After that period, I like to kind of let things breathe, let the color really get in there. So I tend to do just a one and done set of twists after I henna but, as you guys may know from my year-long healthy hair challenge, I am trying to use oil or butter to seal my ends. Every time I wash my hair, some wash days have been hit or missed, since this January was a hot mess with the whole hacking situation, but we are getting back on track. So, in addition to the styler, slash moisturizer that I'm going to be using today, which is the texture me natural, moisture and marshmallows, I don't know if this company is still around, but I did a big old Haul on quite a few of their products. A few years back because the ingredients are so so good and then to seal my ends. Only that's what I think is going to be a good compromise. So that way, the roots where most of the color is really concentrated will still be able to kind of like do their thing without any oil or butter on them. For this particular wash day, the soul tentacles Glide and Sleek ayurvedic fenugreek, hair grease. This was actually purchased, if you guys remember for me to use, while my hair was straight since I'm getting back into the gym, I decided not to straighten my hair last year, slash the beginning of this year, which is when I usually do it the way. My scalp sweats at the gym - I don't know how I could sustain straight hair, but we'll kind of cross that bridge when we come to towards the end of this year, we'll see. But this is what the sealant looks like. It has no water content, so it is all just about getting that water that you already got in there for in your product to stay in there, as always before I start styling, my hair, I'm going to use whatever moisturizing product that happens to be on on The list for the day and I'm going to apply it right to my crown, because that's where I have a lot of breakage and dryness here close to after my hair comes out of my shower cap and then whatever side, I'm not going to be working on. I add a little bit more product to coat that so that, while it is chilling and hanging out while I'm working on the other side, it can start to soften and marinate so that it does not dry out until I can get to it twist it up. Let it kind of love on itself under the shower cap and I'm going to do the same thing on this side. Coating it with the moisturizer and then whatever sections here, I'm not working on are also going to join this side under the shower cap. So the goal for this style is also so that my hair won't be as Tangled when it's time for me to do my detangling and get things going for putting in my protective style next week doing eight twists on each side so that my hair can tangle A bit less because at the gym you guys I'm telling you the way that it just is just soaking in my scalp after my workouts. It makes my hair my roots specifically so so so so so tangled and I am trying to decrease I'm trying not to go into the next wash day, with my hair being like totally matted at the roots, which has been happening after my gym sessions, which, which Is not fun, so I'm going to be experimenting with some new things, so I might have an updated curly, hair gem, routine video. I posted on my community tab not that long ago, but my old video, which I loved, but my hair since then has changed. That was also pre-mechanical damage. I might need to kind of go back to the drawing board to try a few things, so I will keep you guys posted on how that whole thing works out as far as helping to keep my hair healthy during these little workouts. So we're going to go back in with our moisture and marshmallows the texture on this is phenomenal. Now it doesn't have any hold to speak of so these are very soft, very just like all about the moisture twists. So these are still pretty big twists. Each one of these sections is going to be a twist, but it's still smaller than the twist that I've been doing lately. So hopefully my theory about that helping to decrease Tangles at the gym actually is like a thing. So these are the sections that I'm going to be buttering up. This is the first time I'm using this product, so I am excited. I'M gon na melt this puppy down. You can feel that kind of slight tackiness, because it's a grease as you melt it down this background is utter, incomplete trash as usual. It'S so dark! So I'm going to finish some of these twists and then I'll be back to show you guys the front sections that'll be able to show up a lot better in this video I got ta, say y'all. I really like this hair grease from sultanicals. I know that when I featured this in a haul video, a lot of people said they were interested in it, so we're gon na do a little quick review of it. So far, it's got extra virgin olive oil grapeseed oil candelia wax Castor wax, which helps it get that kind of like tacky texture and be able to provide you a little bit of hold after the wax. It'S got: castor oil, cocoa, butter, trifala, fenugreek, licorice root. Maybe that's what I'm smelling, because fenugreek by itself has like a pancake syrup, type of smell neem powder, black seed oil cumin, Pro vitamin B5, vitamin E phthalate free fragrance so I'll make sure to have the full ingredient list listed Down Below in case you want to Read it and check it out, y'all my ends. Low, look, really really good with this stuff. It does give me that, like kind of Grease feeling of products that my mom used in me when I was a little girl but better smoother, nowhere near as heavy my hair doesn't feel heavy, it doesn't feel coated. It doesn't feel greasy, even though this is a grease. My ends just feel really nourished so, but so far so good. This also says that this is a Pomade that you can use on your scalp onto this last little section. I have put product on it, but it's already drying out. So I'm going to add a little bit of product gon na be going with the curl origin, honey, hibiscus, daily, moisture Mist smells so freaking good, and it gives my hair some good slip and it's just really nice to re-damped and things a little more on these Ends they look a little sad, so I've added a good amount of my moisturizer to this section already, so this is just going to be my get in there and twist application really more on the mid shaft to the ends and this stuff just melts right into My hair nourishing combo of products today now will this hold up at the gym, probably not because there's like virtually no hole to speak of my thing, the past few wash days has just been about getting my hair clean moisturized. I haven't used any gel so far in the whole month of January on my hair, just because I know that my hair is not gon na really hold up aesthetically because of how much I sweat at the gym. So I'm just like I'm just trying to keep it clean and happy, and that's about it. So I've accepted that, with this fitness journey calms, probably hair days that are gon na, not look that great for a good chunk of the year. But as long as I can keep it healthy, keep it moisturized, that's kind of where I'm at right. Now, I'm gon na apply sealant to these sections right here, I've decided to go a little bit farther up as I've been doing. These twists is because it feels so good on my ends, so this is what it looks like initially my neighbors are so loud. I do do not want to hear your music. It really does have that light. Smooth, pomady texture, that's not heavy at all. Very very excited to use this on my straight hair one of these days, and it really does have to smooth things which I think is helping. These ends to look so plump and juicy, because the cuticles are getting smoothed down by this. Take the excess and kind of retwist this a little bit tighter kind of get some of those little sections. That kind of just stick out see if I can smooth those a little bit this twist is so skinny on the end, I really think it's just some residual mechanical damage, where my hair got so much thinner after that, so that will eventually be cut off. So this is our first side, all nice and done I'll, probably end up using this hair grease next week, when I do my protective style, so I'm going to go ahead and do the twist on this side and then show you guys. The final result, all done with my little twist. My hair feels so so good really happy that I decided to use this stuff almost like as a trial run this wash day, because I think it's going to make a really big difference in how my protective style looks and how it feels after I eventually unravel Those little teeny tiny twists and how the ends feel so. The combination of these two products - the texture me natural, moisture and marshmallows, and this Glide and Sleek ayurvedic fenugreek, hair grease from sultanicals - did a really really good job. My twist right now just feels so voluminous and juicy, and they haven't looked like this in quite some time. It'S going to be really interesting, taking care of this at the gym, but for now I am going to enjoy this and I think it's going to make for a very pleasant next wash day when it's time for me to get into those medium twists. I'Ve got my henna all done. My ends trimmed from the beginning of the year. My heavy duty protein treatment already done, checked off the list. I'Ve given my hair, a really nice moisture nourishing base as we head into that Marathon wash day next week. So I really hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did, please give it a thumbs up. Likewise, if you haven't subscribed already, please do so as well. I would love to have you remember to upload videos every Friday, so I will see you in the next one. Take care guys bye,
