Relaxed Hair Update 2023

Foreign, hey guys, it's me Desi and I'm back and welcome Happy New Years to everyone. I'M here today to do a relaxer update video as well as let you know what's going on with my hair and what my plans are for 2023. So, as you guys can see, this is what my hair looks like and let me bring it to the front, so you can see what it looks like some more and, as you guys can guess I've colored my hair. It is darker. I actually colored it to a dark jet black color with Dark and Lovely permanent hair color box, and I wanted to do this because my hair is naturally a dark brown color. But I just want it to look a little bit more healthier and a little bit more vibrant, so I went for a jet black color and I love it because it kind of makes my hair look a little bit more shiny and um. It just gives me like a better overall appearance that I like, and I think this is a great way to start the new year. I am currently 12 weeks post, relaxer and my wash day so far has been amazing. One thing that has helped me to have a better wash day going forward is by deep conditioning my hair with conditioner um, that is more moisturized in based and adding a little bit of protein here and there and leaving it on my hair with a heating cap Or just a regular plastic bag under a hooded dryer for at least maybe two hours and I feel like I get the most benefit out of using it for such a longer time, because the product is able to get more into my hair shaft and really nourish. My hair and when it's time for me to detangle my hair and rinse out the conditioner, my hair feels so soft. It feels like just gliding through butter, especially when it comes to detangling, and my hair. Just feels really really amazing and soft, and I love that, and it feels like it just has a lot of moisture in it and after that, when it's time for me to blow dry my hair, it just comes out so soft and silky, and when it's time For me to flat iron, my hair, my hair just collides through the flat iron and that technique has been helping me a lot, especially um when I am further along in my relaxer stretches. So it's been 12 weeks since I had my last relaxer, and I think this last wash day was a success, because my hair just looks really really straight as though I'm maybe eight or six weeks post and the only thing that's like an issue is my roots, Which is the new growth and that will probably puff up due to humidity or if it's raining outside, but that's nothing. That'S going to um be an issue for me. I just need to wrap my hair and keep it moisturized and um just keep it protected. So this is what my hair looks like and I love the color. I really really do and um. I think I am past BSL, I'm definitely past BSL, so I'm hovering between BSL and MBL. I don't think I want to be waist length just because I realized that it's taken me a lot longer to wash my hair, especially when it comes to deep conditioning, because that's already two hours plus the extra hour that it's gon na take to blow dry. My hair and flat iron, my hair and then the 45 minutes that it may take to wash my hair thoroughly massage my scalp and just prep the bathroom for all of that and the cleanup process for that so and when your hair is shorter, it just takes Shorter time to do it, and I realized the more my hair is growing the longer it's gon na get the longer it's gon na take for me to wash my hair, and I try to wash my hair at least between two to three weeks um. I try to do that just because it takes so much of my day to do that. Why day routine - and I enjoyed this length that I have so far because I'm able to do a spiral a twist out or a braid out, and I don't lose that much length. It'S still visible and I don't have that much shrinkage. So I like this link and I don't mind, cutting it shorter to maybe bra, strap length or armpit length, because I know I can grow it back out and then just enjoy the little short hairstyle for the wild being and um just have fun with it.
