I have cleansed and conditioned my hair, I pre-pooed too, and it is just lovely. I even chopped some off because that's how I roll, but you can see all of that on patreon today, I'm going to start by twisting my hair and I am using trailux products today. This video is not sponsored. I really just wanted to try this again. For many reasons - and I wanted to pair it with all three looks products, so here we are old packaging, new packaging um, let's start by applying the leave-in conditioner, and then I'm going to share with you how I twist I've been asked several times how I twist Recently - and so I just want to make sure - I address that right - trying to give y'all what y'all asked for I'm gon na put three pumps on the entire section here. That should be enough, I think um and then, as always, you work it through. You work. It through you, don't keep applying product, you work it in and you work it through and then on top of that, I'm gon na throw on a cream, because I want this to last two or three weeks and when I pile on stuff that has hydrating ingredients And oils, and all that I need everything - sticks around for longer. So on this section, I'm going to take that much cream, not a whole lot right, we're stacking! We don't need a whole lot. This has heavier ingredients, so I want even less of this than the previous product and once again, oh, I just scratched my face. We work it through. I pay special attention to the ends because that's the oldest part of my hair, my roots, are gon na get oily. Let me turn on the light. I forgot this is dark all right to answer this question. I had to stare at my bookshelf, so favorite book of 2022 was definitely yellow Life by sadika Johnson. It was a lot. I don't like to read stories. Uh fictionalizing slavery. I seriously do not um it's just not something. I'M gon na do more than once a year because it's freaking depressing. It brings back all the knowledge I have about slavery and how terrible it really was. For my people, I really dislike reading anything having to do with slavery. I make a priority to read non-fiction about slavery, because I don't want people's stories to be forgotten, but that was really good and it was short. So if you got ta endure something - and you want to know - it's gon na come out. Okay, like it's gon na, be a decent story, not that the story is going to come out sunshine and Roses. I also don't like that in the slave stories fictionless slave stories, because that was so not it. That'S not what happened to so many people um, but that book really hit such a remarkable balance. The writing was Stellar. The story was so good that the book club had two hour long discussion. We had to go um and it's. We usually only talk for an hour like it was so good. I really really enjoyed it. I would read that again, even though I don't like reading slave stories and I would recommend it worst book - you know it ain't even on this shelf, because I got rid of it. It'S it's titled. They are not like us. I did not enjoy that story. Why? Because it's super unrealistic um in a insulting way, as someone who does have a white best friend or two um to act like okay, so this is gon na, be a spoiler, but to act like any of us could be unaware of our race. In UK s context, especially if you grow up from childhood, I've known my best friend since the beginning of grade school, the world makes us aware of our race. Okay, my black best friends. We don't have that same experience together, okay, it was just so insultingly unrealistic to me to one the black woman to to make it seem like you would have white best friends and like keep so much of yourself and like be okay, it just was. It was such a insulting depiction of a black white friendship, even though it was written by black and white women. It was like so evident that they're, the authors don't have best friends that are black or white, I'm using one pump of foam per twist so apply the foam and then I'm going to smooth the product through just to make sure it's on there right. And then you want to make two sections that are pretty, even mainly because you want the bottom to have the same amount of hair. So it's the bottom. You want to come out and have the same evenness, it's less about the rest of the hair. Then you're going to take one section of hair twist it over the other. Do it again, one more time and then tighten and then twist and you're not going to move your hands way down to like here, you're going to keep them near where you are twisting until the very end of the twist do not skip this? Your twist will loosen if you move your hands down and you won't get even turns even rope turns there are so many ways to do twists. This is the most basic version right. There are other versions where you twist one side. They are three strand twists and more. This is the most basic version and then, at the end I twist it around my finger to create a coil that curls and that's it that's my twist. You got ta surround yourself with images of hair like yours, that you love and like consistently watch that right, keep yourself surrounded by people with hair like yours, stop for a moment watching other people right A lot of the times. People Envy others like the ease of their hair, the the what they perceive to be easy, whereas I find most people think their hair is hard. So there's that number two start to tell yourself that you love your hair, that your hair is easy and that it is glorious. That is something you need to tell yourself on a regular basis over and over again say it to yourself every day for at least let's say three months and see how your mindset around it changes. It will change, but just because you're pouring positivity into your mindset, number three most important one: that people suck at have fun with your hair, stop putting chains on yourself move those chains. Let me know in the comments, if you know where that's from um instead enjoy your hair and, however, you want to enjoy it. If you want to wear it under a wig, do that if you want to blow it out, do that if you want to straighten it, do that if you want to wear a set of twists and another set of twists and another set of twists, do that, I think the worst thing many people do is box themselves into these arbitrary rules about what they need to do for their hair right. You should never ever color it right because that's not natural, you should never ever straighten it because you may get heat damage. You should never ever wear wigs of wigs, because you don't love yourself. What just enjoy your hair? It is an accessory like literally an accessory, and this accessory will change over your lifetime, so just find ways to enjoy it. And last but not least, if you are having a lot of trouble in one specific area, focus on that one area, if you're having a lot of time, hard time dealing with Tangles, just focus on that focus on getting better at that week to week month to Month and once you figure that out look, you will have solved the thing that causes you the most anxiety and the most trouble with your hair. So if you want to love your hair, do those things - and I promise like after making my hair easier surrounding myself with images of people who also love their hair, freeing myself from the chains of the natural hair communities rules. That'S why you can't tell me nothing about my hair. That'S why it doesn't matter how many times people tell me that my hair is damaged or how many times people tell me. I'Ve literally had comments where people say you can't wear your hair, like that. You can't do this to your hair. You can't do that to your hair and I'll just be like watch me watch me watch me watch me I'm using one pump of the tree Lux, because I find that's enough. It'S got a good level of viscosity to it. I'M just testing some other things. Y'All saw me use it for wash and go um. Patreon will have seen all of my thoughts on on it and why I'm trying it again but um yeah, I I like toilet products, a lot. I do often tell you guys about them. I work with the brand, but I'm very careful when I'm working with these Brands. I want to be able to tell you the ways it works right in the ways it doesn't work. I want you all to be able to honestly comment below, and I can't do that if I don't try it in many ways, if I'm not honest about with myself about how it works and how it doesn't work this last time I had so much snow um. I had to figure out why and what is happening, and so I'm trying it again and I'll try it again until I figure it out. Patreon will see all that, but yeah. This is me trying to make sure that I maintain a level of Integrity when I am recommending products to you all but, like I said, I'm gon na go watch TV I'll, be back all right, guys it's the next day and my twists are completely dry and You can see, there's not a bunch of frizz, and this is why it will last I sent under my hooded dryer for 15 minutes to make the assure the foam set right um and then I let it air dry the rest of the way it dried before. I went to sleep. I am going to double cast, though, because I'm going to wear these twists for a week or two depending on how they look after a week right and to do that, I am going to spray a little water on I'm not trying to drench my hair. I just want it to be a little damp and then I'm gon na put three pumps of foam on this side. Same foam as you can see, I'm not having any product reactions. So I know I could do this because it's not built up and stuff. So I'm just gon na put the foam on and then I will diffuse this dry just because I can I you could also sit in the dryer, whatever you got to do to just make sure it sets. But I was asked to talk about the benefits of using a hooded, dryer um and how to prevent heat damage while using it. Let me just say: I've never gotten heat damage from using my hooded dryer. It is indirect tea. You really shouldn't get heat damage um. It'S actually somewhat difficult to get heat damage just using a hooded dryer to dry your hair um. I really don't see a situation in which you would get heat damage from doing that. I guess, if you I don't know if your hair was in a terrible condition, maybe, but it's literally just fast heat. That'S it uh, it's not direct, so it should not hurt your hair at all, there's so many benefits to using a hooded, dryer. The Styling, mostly like you're gon na get stylish set faster, so they last longer there'll be less frizz. You can use it to heat up your conditioner on your head or you know, heat up your conditioner um. So there's a lot of benefits there. Uh. If you do roller sets and things like that, there's basically no other way to get your hair dry efficiently, um, it's I could do more wash and goes. I could wash my hair at night and um start drying it. That way. I have not regretted buying. My Hundred dryer at all, I got it for like 120 several years ago and I I'm using it. I regularly use it. I will use it um, probably tomorrow exaggerating, but I used it last night right and these twists came out fire and this twist out will come out fire and all myself have been improved since I purchased a hooded dryer, the one I have is still available. So I'll link it below all right y'all. It'S been two weeks since I put these twists in my hair. I'Ve just been doing life, and now they look rough uh, but they don't look like terrible or anything. They just look like the the hair at the root. It'S definitely growing, but the twists themselves. Look fine, um, but I'm going out this evening. So I'm gon na go ahead and show you guys what I've been doing to keep my hair hydrated these couple of weeks, I'm using the obian actually curl hydration spray, and I'm going to take my hair down in a moment. But I really want to make sure that it's hydrated before I do that, because hair that is hydrated will separate easy. So I'm gon na do this and then you know shower put a makeup figure out what I'm wearing this could take like an hour uh. Not not quite but a while, my hair will be dry and then I can un twist to take care of this at night. I have done absolutely nothing special. I literally put on about it and I go to sleep and then in the morning I take the Bonnet off and do life to go to the gym. I just pull it up some way, shape or form. I'Ve really been doing this like hi ponytail situation, but I think it's really cute with a hair dye and it's just been giving me cute. You know like super cute for exercise for the moment. I'M gon na go ahead and get ready for this evening, and I've been asked several times to show how I take down these twists. So I'll do that, while I answer some more questions, all right, we're cute as we always are when we put on the makeup. So you see these twists, they're, nice and hydrated, and I'm going to take them down. I actually typically like to um, put them up and then take them down one at a time, so that I don't miss any because I tend to miss one always here's a Twist right and I'm going to kind of turn it. So it starts to unravel. You see how it's like unraveling and then I have my two strands. I don't borrow so I can do that if you borrow, if your hair is dry, what I just did will cause you breakage um and then I just kind of pull it taut and I can start to see where it will separate. I could feel it really uh and then I just separate there, wherever it's separating naturally - and I get the least amount of phrase that way, but I do expect furries like that is also going to happen. Because of how much I separate, if I separated to just a little, I wouldn't get much first, but I separated a lot all right. So rapid, firewoods powder, beauty, hair, dryer, Cove attachment I keep getting asked. Am I gon na try that hair dryer, specifically people want me to try the Cove attachment, but it looks like the comb. Attachment only goes on that dryer or it's not sold separately and unless they send it to me, I have no intention of buying another dryer. I'M not one of those YouTubers who are just gon na, buy everything under the sun for the sake of YouTube uh. If I had it, I would end up giving one of my dryers away uh, but unless they sent it to me, we go get it all right, so cream versus foam preferences we're going to use a cream versus when I use a phone. It truly depends on what I'm going for. I really like using creams and Foams together for a great twist out. I find a good cream under a foam gives me optimal. Twist outs um as far as wash and goes, I will still use gel and then I could use a foam over top. If I want to lighten the hold of that gel or add to the hold of that gel depending on what it is. If I want to do a double cast, something along those lines to me, it's not an either or I find a lot of things just work. Well, together, tips on building generational wealth. I don't really have those, because I'm not a financial advisor um, also hairstyles for formal events. I typically wear a bun of some sort. One nine three binds a butt of some sort. I could also do a um fridge roll. I thought it was a little nasty for its role in a woman the other week, and I said yes ma'am, it was so cute. I had to tell her. She had gray hair too, so it was just oh, it was beautiful um, something like that. You could always just wear your hair straight if you want to um, I also just wear twist outs or wash and goes I don't think any hairstyle is like specific to an event. It'S more like what look you want to create right. So if I have, I tend to wear simple tailored, dresses, um, and so I keep my hair very simple, upswept off the shoulder. Typically because it's a part of the look, that's how I choose how to do my hair, what look I'm going for overall? Okay! So my hair is all taken apart. I just stick my pick in here and get rid of the parts I got. Ta go I'll, try to get a photo of the outfit, no guarantees um yeah. This is not. This is not it, but my hair is cute. Makeup is cute, see y'all in a couple days, so you can see multi-day hair, I will just say like it feels like it's gon na shrink like the feeling of it, but we'll see in a couple days. What happens with it? I mean it still looks good. I really need to pick the roots again at the back, but it's been three weeks so it's time for me to wash my hair, I'm definitely gon na steam treat on this during this wash. But I mean you guys want to see how I wear my hair for three weeks in a twist out. It'S not a twist out the whole time guys, but the twist that looks really good when I do for a week. Take it out. So I like this works for me because I traveled I was at a town for a bit. I got sick like this definitely works for me. I try to anticipate questions here. I only sprayed my hair twice in this process, but my hair still feels hydrated. It'S not dry, it doesn't. Even I mean it doesn't look dry, but it's not like dry or anything. It still feels good and last but not least, y'all are funny because I did this fall right. I know y'all like hair videos, I'm not trying to stop doing them, even though I'm trying to make more creative content so that I Stay engaged in creating her videos for you. But I did this poll several weeks ago this one right here where I asked y'all. What kind of hair videos y'all like look at that response? Y'All there were 385 votes and it's basically split evenly between here reviews, product reviews, product hair, routines, product reviews and hair tips. So I'll just try to mix it up and do those things, because you guys don't like anything more than the other. I did a hair routine in this video y'all saw my hair routine. I don't love doing shower videos I never have, but until I get different lighting I don't want to do them anymore and I don't intend to get different lighting until like may, but I do wash my hair in the shower there's a question I've received. Do I typically wash my hair, you know the way I show you guys. I wash it in the way. I show you guys, but I do it in the shower. I don't have to get my shower all wet and stuff doing a video anymore, because I like to just come out here and show you guys what I'm doing. I actually wash my hair in the sink. When I do the videos, so I don't have to get my whole body wet, that's just how I roll, but instead of that to say, y'all are going to continue to get hair videos, but you got ta watch more videos in order to get all the hair Content, actually one of the videos coming up - I'm gon na do a little nighttime chat with you all, I'm gon na cook some dinner and we're gon na talk about a Hot Topic that I didn't talk about in this video, because I have a whole lot to Say, and that is about the hair stylist, the girls are fighting hairstylist for fighting, but that is in probably the next video, so stay tuned.

Erika: I just recently got a hooded dryer and dried my twists when I was in a pinch. I took those twists out a few days later and my curls were so bouncy, and the Treluxe twisting cream had set. Now I dry my twists for 10-15 minutes every week

psr076: You’re so right about using a hooded dryer. It’s been game changer since I don’t have to wait to get my hair dry (when I was air drying ). It took me a long time to find one because it’s expensive if I want to purchase from Amazon (from the us ). I manage to find one online in December 2021. It doesn’t if I wash my hair or late at night . I won’t be sleeping with wet hair. It’s investment but so worth it. Thank for sharing. Trying Trexluxe is a brand on my wish list.

Dimensions by Gina: I was in this box for years. I would have never colored my hair. I was doing everything I thought was right, but my hair was still breaking. You name it: teas, protein treatments, deep conditioning, and wearing twists. I got my hair cut and revamped my regiment. I found out for me botanical gels and wash n gos are my best friend. My hair hardly breaks now and it's colored I try to buy black owned but some of my best products I use are from white companies. But like you said do what you want for your hair

Nancy Monroe: Great video. I use a hooded dryer weekly and have never had heat damage. My hair would take 2-4 days to dry if I didn't use it.

Scorpio Sting: I still can’t get over how long ur hair has gotten and for the life of me I still can’t do a twist out✌

Kearsten W: Hi, thanks for giving us the keys to the streets once AGAIN. But you know I'm full of questions So just wondering how often did you spray your hair during the two week span to remoisturize?

Doretha McElliott: So the only thing you do to keep your twist hydrated is spray with the Curl Hydration Spray every other day or twice a day

Precious C: You made a really good point of surrounding urself with pictures of hair that similar to urs. My insta explore page is filled with natural hair but it’s mainly of styles and hair types that aren’t similar to mine! But I’ve been watching creators like u with similar textures to mine and this journey has been so enjoyable! I’ve been trying new techniques, products, and I no longer dress wash day!!! Next step is for me to get a curly cut (rocking a slight mullet rn )

Kearsten W:

joy kaleblonde: I like all your videos so that poll was hard lol

Florizella Thompson: About the book, absolutely, I will not read or watch slave stories on tv, makes me sick for a long time.
