[ Andrey ], Looking good., That's satisfying when I do that. Baby is fed we're ready to film.. Today, we're going to test out paper, towel heatless, curls., They're kind of like a take on rag curls, but instead of kind of rolling them up into your head or onto your scalp they're, going to be hanging down. - And I saw this method who was it? Jocelyn Davis on her Instagram, her IGTV, but she said she saw on somebody else: online., I'm not sure where this came from. But again it's a take on rag curls from many many years ago.. So let's get started.. So what I need for this are paper towels, clear, elastics and then some kind of little hair clip to hold the paper towel to the section of hair.. So what she did was she took a section of hair like so.. Take the paper towel place. It like this., Take a little a hair clip and just kind of place it into the hair. So it doesn't go anywhere. And then split the hair that section kind of like in half like this, and then she kind of just went underneath over crisscrossed. It underneath crisscross it underneath bring it back over crisscross it and then bring it back down and then crisscross it. Take a clear, elastic and secure the end.. So it kind of looks like you're braiding the hair. And then I'm just going to secure the bottom.. So let's do this again., I'm going to do the front on this side. Grab a paper towel fold. It lengthwise like so. Place it on top., Take a little clip secure the paper towel to the hair and then the paper towel is on top.. I'M going to split the hair right in half and then bring the two sections over and then we're going to cross, bring it down around the paper. Towel underneath cross again bring it over paper. Towel cross again bring it under cross again bring it over paper. Towel cross again cross again and then I'm just going to tie this off on the paper towel., It's quite easy, but it's just a little bit time consuming just because it depends how many sections you're doing., I'm just gon na rip some of these paper towels. So I just have extras. ( paper towels ripping ). I don't know how many sections I'm going to do per head. I mean per side, but I just split it in the middle in the back and I'm just going to work. My way to the front. I guess. It kind of goes by fast once you get a hang of it. And the reason why I liked these curls on Jocelyn was because you're kind of crisscrossing the sections. So once they dry and they kind of set in place when you take them out. They basically alternate the curls, which is kind of cool., So I'm curious to see how it's going to look on shorter hair because she has really long hair. And I was really curious to see how it's going to turn out. So I'm hoping that this is going to look good, but we'll see what happens you know., I'm thinking, you know what, in the back I'm going to do a couple of sections higher and then a couple of sections lower. So I think that's going to look good.'Cause. The one thing with shorter hair because your hair is so short underneath and then a lot of it doesn't even get the love like the hair on the top. So I'm going to try that., Hopefully that will work. Got the one side done.. Let'S try this side.. I think the only thing with these types of curls I'm going to have to fix the bottom, either with like a hair, straightener or a curling iron, to make sure it's a little more uniform and doesn't look crinkled towards the bottom, from the clear elastics.. So to speed up the process going to use air bonnet, no heat setting just the highest air flow with the Dyson hairdryer.. This just helps like again speed up the process., It's not using any heat, except for the room air, which that's exactly what I would do. If I did not use the hair bonnet, so that's what I'm doing. ( hair drying, roaring ) Wow, that is loud.. I added an extra 10 minutes just to be on the safe side.. Let'S see if we're dry., I feel a little dampness towards the back. Where there's a lot of hair in the back., Should I take these first pieces out [ Andrey ], Try it., I'm kind of nervous. [ Andrey ]. How many minutes did you do? I did 30. I added an extra 10 minutes.. Let'S take this out. Yeah. I see the bottom is crinkled, so I would have to go back in and fix it. Okay that actually worked right, [ Andrey ]. Is it damp It kind of feels damn towards the top where it's thickest.? I think I'm going to put it back in into the same paper. Towel. I'm going to do another 10 minutes., I'm pretty sure we're done. Yeah, I'm feeling dry.. Let'S take these out., Let's see. Yeah, it's a little more set.. You can see how bouncy they are. Now. Wow. ( laughing ), That's cool., I mean they're, definitely going to relax. They're, not going to be super tight.. I'M glad I used these little clips'cause they're, not leaving any kind of crease at the top. Wow.. Is this still wet? No, not really. Honestly.. Some of these bigger sections you see how, like you, have to be very mindful of how you wrap it around, because it could potentially not work great., I kind of figured you have to be a little bit more precise of how you do it, but some of Them look good., I mean you can always fix it with a curling iron. If you want to obviously, then it's not heatless, but most of the hair is heatless. So that's a positive. That one turned out really pretty. I think. Just got ta fix the bottom, a little bit. These paper towels are definitely not going to go to waste. They're going to be used. Like this. I would fix the bottom, maybe add a little bit more of a curl like a tiny little wand.. Let'S take all of these out much faster. [ Andrey ], Looking good., That's satisfying when I do that. You, like it [ Andrey ], Yeah., It's very nice., There's only one section that I kind of really messed up on.. I didn't do that well of a wrap. And look how bouncy it is right. [, Andrey ] Looks very nice., Looks like the'60s curls. Kinda, like the rag curls right. He got mad at me. [ Andrey ] Yeah. He was so comfortable.. He was so comfortable. Just holding him, but my arm started falling asleep because he's a big boy so daddy's holding him now.. I like that. They're alternating, so it looks really nice.. So I'm just going to take my hands just kind of go in and see what happens. Is this'60s or'70s. I feel like it's more of'70s, because the top is very flat.. It'S like that's what'70s, reminds me of. Flat, but then very voluminous in other areas like this look at that. When you break it apart, see and they're very soft., Like I'm going in with my hands and my hair is very soft and it's not becoming frizzy.. You know what I mean Look at how pretty this one is this really pretty curl. Wow. Definitely gives you a lot of volume., I'm actually quite impressed you guys. Whoa. It looks like I have so much hair. ( laughing ), I'm going to kind of play with my part a little bit and see what I like.. I think I kind of liked it in the center actually, where the hair was. Gives you a ton of volume.. I think this will look really pretty also on somebody that has really long hair.. Overall, I am quite happy with how it turned out, especially that I didn't really finesse, of how I wrapped the hair, the sections around the paper towels, but I think it actually looks pretty good and for not as much product in the hair. The only thing I used was the little hair oil, but you can really go in and I think personalize it to your hair style to your hair cut to your hair length, and I think you will really enjoy this and again you can fix a lot of These sections, later on with little tiny wand like a chopstick styler or maybe add in a little bit bigger of a curl bigger of a wave and really have that dimension and texture happening in your hair.. But overall I think it's pretty good enough for how much time I spent, but I think it has to be a little bit more involved. You have to be a little bit more mindful of how you're wrapping it around and how many times you're wrapping it around. The paper towel to get the best results., But for overall I think I did a pretty good job and I'm kind of happy.. I mean I'm actually really happy with it.. I'M curious to see how they're going to fall out.. I might do a little update at the very end of this video to show you guys, maybe like several hours and how it turned out or yeah, we'll see. Babe. What do you think overall? Do you like it or is it a little too crazy for you [, Andrey ], I like it.. I definitely played with it a little bit too much. So it's looking a little bit fluffy right now.. I wish I stopped, but I just you know I couldn't stop touching it. So this is my fault. It's a little bit too poofy, but that's because I just kept going and playing with the hair and separating it more and more, but it's going to fall. It'S going to settle down and fall down a little bit, so I'm curious to see how it's going to look in several hours. And that completes the paper towel. Heatless curls.. I hope you guys enjoyed this video., Please. Let me know if this is similar to the rag style, curls or better or worse., Which one do you prefer if you tried this method out before, But let me know share your pictures down below with all of us. For now. Thank you for watching this video and I'll see you in next video, very soon., Bye,
Comments
Jonalyn Bernardo: I love this girl ❤ She's so natural, not scripted but informative, pretty, humble and I like it on how her husband support her every video. Keep it up girl, please dont change. Keep safe to you and your Family.
Zoe Flemming: milabu is really good at hairstyles. I tried a lot of these heatless curls and I love them.
Isabelle Landis: Wow, I tried these overnight with socks, and they worked so well!! Thanks for another awesome tutorial
Celeste Collinsworth: That's what my hair looks like when I sleep in a French braid, and that's much easier than doing all these individual curls
Dash of Nutmegs: Thanks for doing all of trying different things and giving tutorials. Its nice getting to watch someone who has more experience, patience and optimism try different techniques and products. I always enjoy watching your videos and seeing your personality glow. And your husband is so supportive. I love hearing him in the background. You guys are couple’s goal. Love you guys
Shelley2655: Love it! I use so many of your heatless curls! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing
Brandy Freeman: I love how Milana seems to be experiencing "mom brain" in all her recent videos since the birth of Baby Emorett. She stumbles over words or just blanks out for a few seconds & can't even think of the word, lol. Oh the joys of having a newborn & all those sleepless nights. Crazy as it sounds I miss those days sometimes. My girls are 18 & 12 now. Love the sneak peeks we get of the handsome little guy in some of the videos . Also love hearing his sounds in the background throughout the video .
Hawkins family adventures: I remember growing up my mom would do the rag curls . Love your hair
Corianne Crepeau: This was epic!! I love it!! Thanks for sharing! ♥️
milli davison: For the rag curls I use old socks (my hair is quite long so I use longer socks) and you can tie the ends of he socks together to keep them up and I tend to sleep in them to really set them. It looks absolutely crazy but it’s really effective and you don’t need to use any heat at all on your hair which I love
Leslie Valladares: Love the look on you! It's great that it is heatless but 40 mins of drying + the time it took to wrap your hair would take an eternity to do on my long hair
SpazyAzy's Art: Wow! I love it! I will try this out one day in my life
June Charles: Oh MY STARS!!! It worked!!!!! I'm currently in the hospital. As a patient, you don't think you'll be there to bunk in a few days, so why pack a hair curler? Well, no curler meant FLAT, DULL BORING LONG BUSHY HAIR. (blah) So today I saw your hair hack with paper towels video. Awesome timing. Was a bit harder for me because, NO HAIR CLIPS on me :(. I just had the giant hair claw clips (2) only in my bag with 2 bobby pins to work with. My hair's long, so it was a lot longer to fight with and I used 2 paper towels instead of one. Sans the heat too of course. After one hour, ( I should've made it an hour and 30 minutes) I undone my curls. Not bad at all!!! It's still worked regardless! No flat, dull, straight looking hair for me Milabu!! For first paper towel hair hack, I'D DO AGAIN. but I'll have the right hair tools next time. All I used for rubber bands were 5 pairs of hospital gloves. I ripped the rubber off the gloves and there you have INSTANT rubber bands!! Thank you for making me feel like a woman again!! I have bounce in these tresses for now. Definite THUMBS UP!!!! By the way, I wanted to send you pictures. But where do I send the before and after looks??
Cindy Johnson: It’s really cute! I just like it with the side part better. I don’t like the flatness on the top of the head, but that’s just me.
lacey horton: Looks amazing!
Julieta Lujan Aguilar: I use this method a lot but with bigger chunks of hair! it gives me a really nice curly wavy texture and it is also very comfortable to sleep in!!
Alexis Zsebe: This look so cool girlie ❤️❤️
KellyeRaiborn#TEXIT: It reminds me of my 80's spiral perm. But too much work for me. You should try the curls using aluminum foil and a flat iron. You kinda do pin curls with foil over it then press with the flat iron. Seen those turn out really good.
Bela Ademai: I actually tried this and it works really good
Jenny Rose: Cool and great for broke girls ! I wish there were heatless straightening too.
Lynette Sideris: Super cute look !
Noura Amer: Wow It’s looks amazing!!
Marrisa 4: Kayley Melissa recently did a video on something called the octocurl. I think you could use it to get a similar effect. I would love to see what you think of it too
HisAlone: Love it!!!
Marilyn Wrixon: Looked great with side part too!
Cam11: Can you do hairstyles to go swimming with? I have very fine hair and I struggle to do cute hairstyles that keep it tight and out of my face. Please show us some in a video!! ❤️
sharon plunk: I really like how they turned out.
Mally Makings: I’ve just had 20 inches cut off my arse length hair and now I’m watching through your shorter hair videos on how to work with short hair. I have no clue!
Emmy: So beautiful.. as usual ..
Brenda O: Looks fantastic
MrsLoretta: I like your hair! very interesting way to make curls..I like it!! xoxoxLoretta
Siobhán K.: Just so you know Jocelyn has natural wavy hair so this may have worked better for her than it would for others. Hate that you have to go in with heat to sort out the dodgey ends!!!!. x
Georgie Brain: I guess you could do it with socks as well, I’ve done it and works
I'll Fly Away: That was so neat!
yqw12 60: i like this method in my short hair ....she give me nice curly
Kerrianne Fudge: Those curls are beautiful
Sophia Lion: Muy bueno el video nesecitamos ver más como este video,?queria saber si usas algún producto
Starseed Mentality: It’s looks textured I like that
Fiona Darragh: This style is really nice seems a lot of work but nice nevertheless. One other thing that I would want to ask. The One-step Hairdryer and volumiser! Out of the two Revlon or the Hot Tools which is best? Also I have a fringe! Would this hair tool be easy enough to do my fringe?
Leslie: Ooh, I love this a LOT.
Sweet Pea: I like it but my hair is not as long as yours and is getting wavy on its own the older I get (if that makes any sense). I can’t explain it. My hair was alway poker straight when I was younger. I’m dying to try it though
Nicole Sanders: Could you try this with cut up strips of an old cotton tshirts and maybe do a Bobby pin at the bottom instead of an elastic?
April Albright: Love hearing the baby sounds in the background now
Chelsea Shepard: I just hate to waste paper towels like that but beautiful hair style!!
OlderBolderMommy !: I wonder if you start with the paper under the hair would it give the slightest lift at the root?
Celia: This is very pretty, but I think it would be more environmentally conscious to promote the use of reusable towel scraps or socks rather than paper towels
Ines Gr: Very 80st! I love it
Mary Berz: Thanks so much!
KDBug09: Beautiful I love it.i wonder if it work on a inverted bob
Brianne Blackburn: I think my hair would be way to long for this hahha
Carol Shumaker: Nice, soon baby will be pulling on those, but nice curls! Good for a lot of different lengths.
Brenda O: I going to try this during the weekend
Lexy Burton: I love the idea
MORNING STAR GAMING: It could be only done in short hairs LOL
Gin T: Super cute!
dai maitham: Can i put fabric insted of towel paper ? Like soft fabric
Sophia Lion: Tienes un video donde usas una crema y después te ases una trenza duerme toda la noche y wow cuando te quitas la trenza el pelo queda muy bello
Jami Womack: Fun to watch. It looked way better parted on the side but that is just my opinion. Thanks for taking the time away from that precious bundle of yours to entertain us.
trainergirl: Wouldn't it work without the paper towels? Just twist two pieces of hair together and tie them off. Why do you need the paper towels at all?
rosamaria loaizagomez: Excelent look great
Sam Ramirez: This would be fun to do but I don't think I could because my hair's to the middle of my but and I don't think paper towels are that long lol
Salina Fox: Could probably take the clips out after wrapping hair
Sania Mahee: Very nice...my hair is also short...tnxx
Melanie viljoen: I love the volume in ur hair alot
Nicole Henry: My hair always curls ugly with heatless curling
La Gatita: When she put on the hood dryer she looked So Ukrainian like with a big fur hat. So cute .
Julie Colleran: Alot of work for not that big of payoff....BUT not too bad either! You always make it fun!
I Gomez: A hairdryer introduces heat. So are they really heatless? Airdrying is truly heatless and healthier for the hair #wavycurlykinkycoily
Camille Coopersmith: Like your hair looks good
77DarkButterfly: She looks so much like Renee Zellweger to me ☺
Basia: Cute
D Porter-Gage: 70s all day! Very cool though. Paper towel?? Crazy!
Karen Juarez: Can u please try the lashify eyelashes.
TEAPLEASE: Couldn't you just cut the piece of papertowel in half to save on paper instead of folding the piece?
Anagha Xoxo: Wen she hair dried the second time... Nd was about to remove the elastic... I heard the baby and thought she will take a break
Annso Forsman: You´re funny! What if you did this but with one long strap of paper that goes from one side to the other - must be able to makes curls even on top of the head and wont be needing anything to hold the paper in place. Try!
B H: Too much work and a waste of paper towels! But TFS!
Tracie Campbell: Like the curls
Sareena C: This just seems like a waste of paper towels to me, and I use tissues, paper towels a lot for their intended use and I feel like I’m wasting trees and adding them to the waste/garbage bin because why recycle ♻️ them when they’re dirty? Anyway, this is just my opinion.
Karen Juarez: Nices!!
Liz V: More like 80s hair maybe?
maria hernandez quintero: Malibu hola gracias
Clutse Dalya: 30 mins...?! No body got time for that. I’d rather do something else with that time. Use a damn curling iron! Period
Tayalily: Cute #earlysquard
Tade21: Seems like awfully lot of trouble.
LittleMama2020: Try monat hair products I live them and I will never use anything else again they have everything you need for hair or skin care
fouad berahli: Nice
Aleea Sieben: I think it came from Michelle Phan first?
Jesmin Akter: nice
Aphsara: Cute style, but this is so wasteful.
Delson Galasinao: Hippie curls.
Trisha Deepak: EARLYYYYY
Janet Straw: TOO much work!!
Nabil Amara: Earlyyyyyyyy
yqw12 60: the first coment
Raghad Alashoor: That's alot of paper waste for no particular reason :/
