Heatless Curls With Flexi Rods! Amazing Results! ✨

Do you call them bendy roller or flexi rods?! This is my tutorial for heatless curls, but it's also lowkey my first attempt with these large size flexi bendy rollers, so I don't know exactly how it'll turn out! Finger's crossed! I'm starting with naturally curly hair, and playing with curly hairstyles like this is a great way to grow your hair by avoiding heat! I hope it helps!

I'M so excited, definitely not what i expected. Okay, that's looking kind of weird. I might actually be in love with it at this point. Hi guys it's lana here welcome back to learn of some summertime in today's video for the very first time i'm gon na be doing large, flexi rods. First things. First, i need to go out and get some more because this is actually all i have. I thought i had a full head worth of flexi rods, but it turns out. I only have six so i'm gon na head out to the rain and get the flexi rods. The rain has been relentless today it has been pouring it down, so i got these in primark. They are 1.50 for a pack of six. I'M not entirely sure how many i was gon na need, so i've got two packs right here and then i've got that pack. So all together, i should have 18.. I hope it's enough. Oh, i just found another one, so it turns out. I did buy three. So i should have a total of 24, which i'm pretty sure is going to be enough for my hair, oh and by the way, i always call them flexi rods, but i guess a lot of people call them bendy rollers. Can you guys tell that my face? Was swollen this weekend? It'S literally. This is the first day where i haven't had a swollen face. Okay, so why do i want to do flexi rods? I hear you ask. Well, it's been a while, since i've played with different textures for my hair and it's been a while, since i've kind of played with my curl pattern, i've been rocking wash and go's for like a good few months. Now i haven't done a braid out. I haven't straightened my hair, i haven't done anything and i just fancy a change. I just want to do something a bit different, so yeah. This is my natural hair. Of course it is naturally curly. Sometimes, when you do like a heatless, curls video or you do like a curly hair tutorial or something people will say well, this isn't fair, because your hair is naturally curly. It would have just done that anyway to them. I say like why do people with straight hair straighten their hair like why do people with like wavy hair by a waiver? You know it's all just playing around with textures playing with a different curl pattern, playing with like uniformity with that being said, another great reason why you can do a heatless, pearl's methods like like this is, if maybe you're transitioning, like. Maybe you relaxed your hair, you chemically straightened it and now you're trying to grow your curls out, and maybe you've noticed that it just looks a bit funny, because the ends are straight: you're not ready to cut them off, and your tops your the top of your Hair is curly, so you can do something like this just so that all of your hair looks like a uniform pattern and you don't need to use heat and you can break out of that cycle of using heat, and you can make your hair look like. It'S all like it's all the same like it's all healthy, so that's a great reason to do a heatless, curls method. Can you tell that i'm glad to have my face back again like i can't stop smiling, i feel like it's not completely normal. I want to wash my hair because i want to start this on very fresh hair. I don't want to start this on, like old hair, that's dry and needs nourishment, because if all goes well, i want to wear this style for a while. So i just want to give it the best start in life as possible so that it can survive all week and so yeah, i'm just gon na wash and deep condition my hair right now and then we will be able to start the flexi rods. This is a pintail comb, so it has a little comb side this side and it has a pin on this side, and this is really good for sectioning. So i'm going to use that i just want to have a really good straight patting down the middle. Just in case, i want to split my hair down the middle. While i have this style in because you know once you do this kind of thing, it's really hard to change the parts this brush is by tangle teaser. I can't remember the exact name of this specific brush, but it's not like they're regular detanglers. I think maybe it's supposed to be a styling brush, but it's really great for detangling um this by tangle teaser. So, of course, it would be, but i just really love this start from the bottom going up. Okay and then, when i get a section like this, i'm gon na put some of the flora and curl twister braid cream on. I absolutely love this stuff. I use it all the time in my braid outs, but i've actually never done it with a bendy roller set, because i haven't done it in so long. I also have leave-in conditioner on my hair as well, which i didn't mention before, but i do you want to have like an inch or something you want to have enough on each end of the roller for you to bend over, because that's how you kind of Seal it in and the way that i'm gon na do these i'm gon na, let them twist, as i go around so they're, not twisting completely flat it kind of twists it twists as it twists into it kind of twists around itself, as it's twisting into the Spiral if that makes sense, rather than it going flat like a ribbon all the way around you want to pinch the ends fold them over your hair. Maybe i should do them a bit flatter, rather than doing them like spirals. I think it's harder to get them to be flat. I think i'd rather let them spiral a little bit and then once you've got it wrapped. You might find that you're like a little bit away from your scalp, so just roll it in so that you're closer to your scalp and that way you'll get curls further up your head, which will help give you more volume, i'm gon na, do all them facing Away from my face fold it down onto the hair so that it pinches the hair and holds it in place, do the same on the bottom and go this is so quick. I won the last one on that section. This i'm so excited. I feel like these. Don'T pinch as well as the skinny flexi rods, because with those i just close them and i go but with these i'm finding that they they're not gripping my hair well at the ends, which is not good because you want it to grip the ends. Otherwise, the ends aren't going to be in the right pattern, don't forget to add more twist out cream. So the reason i use this stuff is just really really good at holding styles in place so that you can wear it all week and the clothes are just going to look defined and they're going to be set perfectly. That'S my hope for this. So just like over here, it's kind of a bit dry, so i just want to spray that down, because otherwise it might have a bit of a tough time setting into a new style. So i'm just going to put some more braid cream on it as well. Hopefully, you guys can see how my hair is twisting on itself, as well as twisting into the overall curl as well, instead of being flat against the vending roller. I'M gon na twist that towards my head as well, so that that can be nice and tight. Not too tight, though, like i shouldn't, be pinching and pulling like if you can feel pinching and pulling already. You should adjust something because you're gon na have to wait for this to dry. Naturally - and you really don't want it to be pinching and pulling already, because that's just going to be really uncomfortable last one on this side just spray, my hair a little bit more, a little bit more brow cream. I'Ve got scissors here and i don't want them there, because i just know i'm going to accidentally pick them up and chop my hair off. You definitely want your roots to be kind of as smoothed out as possible, so that your natural curl pattern isn't kind of poking through at the root. We love natural curls, but we do just want everything to look quite uniform with this, and then you just want to make sure that it's gone on smooth and then start twisting that around and we're done apart from this little guy, just ignore that we're done. Okay, sometimes when i do this kind of thing, with my hair for youtube, i usually only have a day to film the video before i need to edit it so that i can show it to you guys, but today i am committed to using no heat. So i am not going to try and get this dry all in one day like sometimes i go under the dryer. Sometimes i bring out my hair dryer, i'm not doing that today. Today, i am just gon na go about my day. Just gon na make some dinner do some yoga and go to bed fingers crossed this turns out nicely. I really really really want it to so. I'M gon na go off and do all of that and with the power of cinema you guys are gon na see me the next day right now, hi guys. So it's the next day i had to wear the same clothes because i realized i actually couldn't take this off. While i had these in, if you are planning on doing a big thing like this, maybe just wear something with like a really stretchy neckline or just wear like a button up or a zipper so that you can get changed. I really didn't want to wear it to bed because i kind of feel like when you wear something to bed. Now it becomes bed clothes like it can never go back into the normal part of the wardrobe. Now it's always going to go into the pajama drawer. It'S bed clothes. Now. I really really want this to turn out nicely, because sleeping was so hard. I felt like i was in a neck, brace or something because i couldn't move my head from side to side and it just was getting so uncomfortable. Some of them were pinching. I had to like just wake up like with my eyes, closed and just fiddle with them to stop it. Pinching. Okay, i've got one here that kind of was falling apart during the night, so hopefully that's gon na be okay, oh okay, that looks kind of cute actually that one's looking a bit there's a bit of my natural curl pattern has come through. Okay, that's looking kind of weird: it feels a little bit wet still. I might need to dry my hair a little bit more, so i'm drying my hair for a little bit longer, and i hope it's done so. I'M going to take out another one, this one. I actually twisted a lot more flat. I think this might be the only one that i twisted flat, i'm getting the feeling that this is actually going to turn out better, which is a shame, because i've done all the other ones in the other way. Oh okay. Oh yeah, that looks nice oh see now i'm worried now. I feel like i should have done them all like this. Okay, so here's one that's kind of been twisted instead of going flat. Let'S see how it looks. Oh, that's nice, just in case there's even just a chance: it's not fully dry, it really shouldn't be because i've tried it so much, but i'm going to use some of this rose hair elixir. It has over 15 organic oils and it says that it's for adding shine and taming frizz, and this is by the innate life. So i'm hoping that just adding that little bit of oil barrier will hopefully just prevent this kind of going frizzy or anything. And you know what i really. I don't want to separate this too soon, because it seems like oh, my gosh. Can you hear the wind? I don't want to separate it too soon, because the curls seem quite delicate and quite loose. These are looking cute, i'm excited, so these are the curls that i did with my hair completely flat against the flexi rod, and you can see they almost look more similar to my natural curl pattern. I'Ll put up a picture of my natural curl pattern. You can see that, whereas this is what it looked like when i twisted it so a completely different effect, just from allowing my hair to twist like a rope and keeping it flat like a ribbon, two completely different results using the same bendy rollers, i actually used 16 rollers in total, so that would have been covered if you had three packs of six, because then you'd have 18 rollers. So i actually had two left over which really i should have used, because some of my sections were a bit too thick and they took a really long time to dry and i could have reduced that drying time if i'd actually split those into smaller sections. This is giving me old hollywood. This is giving me glam. That'S definitely not what i expected. I really didn't expect to have waves. I thought i was going to have curves. I guess that's what happens when you twist it like a rope instead of like a ribbon. So i'm starting to like it more and more, but i feel like i need to kind of glam up a little bit to make the most of this, like, i feel like this outfit is not giving everything that it needs to give, because i can see it's Kind of puffing up, i quite like it puffing up. I have my afro comb, i'm just going to pick out my roots a little bit just try and get a little bit more volume going through, because you know we love the volume. I feel like it's just helping it to look more and more glam. Okay, guys, i might actually be in love with it at this point around my parting, i do just have like quite a bit of frizz going on, so i'm gon na lay all of that down. I'M gon na use the curl company styling cream gel. This is actually supposed to be, for you know, curls coils, to like help define your hair, but i found that it has such great hold, but i really just like to use it for my edges. I don't usually do it this way. What am i doing? I usually put it on the brush and then do it, but i guess this will work too. I'M gon na do the tops of my hair as well like around my parting okay. So that is the final look just so happy with how it's actually turned out in the end. I would be really worried about wearing this outside right now, because we're like kind of in the middle of a storm or something is so so windy outside, and i just have the feeling that this would just get blown out of my hair so quickly. Like my hair is just so light and fluffy right now, it just feels like the hold isn't as strong as i'd like it to be. So i think, next time i think i would probably use a lot more braid cream just to make sure that they stayed a lot longer. But then i guess this would it would weigh it down a lot and i'm just kind of obsessed with how fluffy it looks. So i don't know i don't know if i would do anything differently. Actually, let me know what you think in the comment section. I love hearing your thoughts and let me know if there's any other kind of like hair styling tools.
