My name is isabella and i'm going to try cutting my own hair. This is my hair before so. The last time i got my hair cut was about three months ago. I got long layers and i got it dyed. Copper. You can see by their state of my route that it's time to go back to the hairdressers, but i cannot face the price that it's gon na cost. I'M gon na try and save a little bit of money and do half the work myself cut it myself and then just go to the professionals to get it dyed. This could be a disaster, but we're gon na try it anyway. I'M gon na attempt to do the hair band method and cut my own layers. So here's a look at my hair to start off with you can see that my layers are kind of growing out. I got long layers choppiness around the front, although when i got home from the hairdressers, i did have to kind of re-cut it myself around the front and around like my face framing layers, because i wasn't totally happy with how the hairdresser did it and then, throughout The months i've just been, like chopping, random bits, making them shorter as they grow out. I'M getting a lot of split ends at the bottom, which is not good for my compulsion to split them. I'M going to start by brushing my hair all the way to the front of my head. I'M going to tie it in pants. People have been doing this online for years, so i figure like it can't go that bad. I'M gon na brush it out a bit more another hairband. Oh, this does not feel right because there's loads of my front hair here - oh my god, i don't so. I have got some hair cutting scissors. I do not use these for anything else. Apart from cutting and trimming my hair, they have to be very sharp when you're cutting your hair. Otherwise you can end up doing more damage than good okay. Here we go, i'm going to start with about an inch so about this much kind of about an inch. Oh bye, hair. Now i'm going to point cut into the hair huh. Okay, so i'm not seeing a whole lot of difference yet, which is a good thing, baby steps, i'm going to show you after each layer, so you can see what it looks like. So that is what it looks like after the first initial cut, i'm gon na go, i think, a little bit shorter, okay, i've pulled it back into the ponytail again and now it looks uneven, so i'm gon na re-brush it because this bit does feel looser here. Okay, i've done it again and it looks a bit better. I'M gon na take off another inch and then point cutting to finish: okay, cool, okay, cool. I like that length. It still doesn't seem a whole lot different than it was there's this long bit here. We'Ll see how it looks from the back feels a lot better. It feels smoother at the ends already, and it doesn't actually look different at all when i cut off two inches what okay, so i think it's mainly kind of thinned it out around like the side chunks, i'm gon na take my next layer now so for this One i'm gon na go above the ears. This is what we've got. It looks freaking weird, i'm gon na do about half an inch for this one, just in case it looks really weird. Ah, i keep doing it like uneven, like this side is always shorter than that side. I feel like if i come in from this side, maybe trying to get the other side. Okay, this is from the front and from the back so with this method, i feel like the sides of my hair, like at the front, are getting short a lot quicker than the back. I'M just gon na work on the very top. I can feel like the sides of my hair are getting really thin, maybe that's normal and i'm just not used to it and that's what it's supposed to be like with layers, but it's making me nervous what is this random long bit here? Okay, i don't know where that got. Let'S check the other side. Oh, this is kind of similar okay. So now i've taken just the top section at the front. I'Ve heard that you should do this part in like a v, can you you can see okay and then point cutting okay? Oh okay, yeah! I like that. Actually, i want to get more of a back layer without cutting any more of the sides, so i'm going to try taking just from the crown and trying the same technique and seeing if it works. Okay, so i'm taking just my crown section and i'm gon na do the same thing and brush it all forward. So here i have just the crown of my head: half an inch okay. Okay, so, as you can see, there's not actually a whole lot of difference. I it's really hard to see the layers. I guess because my hair is kind of all straight at the moment, but i'm assuming that when i style it like the layers will show through a bit more so i'll definitely show some footage of my hair styled at the end of this video okay. So i've taken the crown section again and i'm just gon na go a touch shorter. I probably did about half an inch, maybe a bit less on that one, and this is what it looks like from the back. I kind of feel like the back is a little bit uneven. I think i'm just going to give it a little trim from the front many years ago. This is how i used to trim my hair anyway, so i'm just going to it doesn't help that my hair has a bit of a flick to it, and i'm just gon na trim this little bit off here, oops. Okay, i'm just checking that that's both roughly the same length, yep that'll, do let's take one more look from the back okay, so, as you can see, it doesn't look a whole lot different in terms of the length and the back, which is why i tried to Do more layers on the back, but i guess i chickened out a little bit too much, but what i found about pulling all my hair to the front is that it kind of took off more from the sides than it seemed to take off from the back. You know it's okay, i think it's going to work for me, i'm not going to cut too much off from the front because i actually kind of like how it is at the moment. I trimmed it not too long ago. I have to cut this random. Like long bit, because it's like not it's just not blending, so let's get rid of that little bit there any random stragglers, that's kind of long, but that bit looks like it blends more. Okay, now they're - probably not even but over just trim - that bit a little bit here is some footage of my hair a bit more styled just so you can kind of see, i might add, in some like curly waves and maybe straightened, maybe a bit more blow Dried there, you go, that's what it looks like, so that was the ponytail layers at home. Cutting method wasn't a disaster. I like it not too bad. My hair definitely feels so much more fresh and healthy. It does feel a bit thinner, but that's what layers does? That'S why i didn't want to go too crazy, because i don't have a lot of hair to begin with. Thank you for watching. I hope. Maybe this gave you some confidence to try it yourself. If you too are struggling with money a little bit and can't quite afford, you know going to salons and getting expensive haircuts, because haircuts are expensive, especially if you have a color that you're trying to maintain like me like, i need to cut costs somewhere. So hopefully i can just kind of cut it myself for the next six months or so guys, i'm going to be coming out with my very own lip balm very soon. It is raw honey and organic lavender. It has a ton of organic ingredients in it is completely plastic free. It'S really really good for you, so this is going to be coming out soon on etsy, but it has not launched yet i've been using it for a long time now and it's the one also if you want to see more about what i'm getting up to In my personal life and some of my secrets and things that i'm working on behind the scenes you can follow my patreon. It'S only two pounds. Patreon members always hear it first, so check out my patreon below. Thank you. So much for watching and i'll see you in the next one bye you

Mijuki: This is the same method i've been doing for about 5 years or so. Haven't been to the hair dresser since, and saved a lot of money by doing it! :D

Flopii De Luca: giiirlll that character growth is everything!!!! I'm so happy that you are able now to have fun with your hair

Alex H: if you do this again, make sure your hair is either wet or completely straight so it’s even! also, the more you pull it to the front the shorter the front layers will be, as opposed to putting the pony closer to the center of the head and getting longer front layers

Farheen Fatima: I love your hair series & positive energy ... it just makes my day never stop making super entertaining vids for us

Katputze: The part when you showed the layers in different styles was so satisfying. Your hair is so god damn pretty!

Sil H: If you want more layers at the back I recommend pulling it up rather than the front. Where you place the hair tie and where you pull your hair is where the shortest layers will end up being.

Tess: Your hair looks so good and healthy now compared to a while back

Anaïs BUI: Omg I did the same thing and honestly it was okay for me, can't wait to see the result !

lunair: I used the pigtail method from ManesByMel and it did give me layers, but when I straightened it it looked really bad lol. Doesn't matter though because I always wear my hair naturally curly or curled with heat. I really don't like spending tons of money on my hair.

Chezamoonangel AiEmma: I have been cutting my hair since 1999 was doing the unicorn cut but now I do the pony tail on my back for the blunt cut. It works on my ethnic curly wavy hair. Your results look beautiful you did

Rasika Dhiman: I had the same hair texture. Please give henna a try. It will match with you redhead and it adds so much structure to you hair. I could never imagine that my hair would look voluminous but henna made it possible I'm never going back to hair colour

Maja Skvagerson: I’ve done this since the pandemic started and it works great! I also have wavy/curly hair so my errors never show!

Jap Jab: OMG a honey lavender lip balm!? Congratulations That sounds heavenly! I love lavender Please tell me you'll do a whole video on info about it with a make-up look or something aesthetic. I've successfully cut my own hair, including bangs before and had a good time doing it. I was going, pretty confidently, into the following endeavor about 3 weeks ago. ☠️ I tried to give myself a wolf cut and some nice face framing layers/bangs. My hair reached my ✨crack✨ and was looking wispy at the ends, despite the curls giving it volume. It was due for a reshaping. Sectioning long curly wet hair by yourself is extremely difficult. Apparently I have dense hair too, was a nightmare. Now the actual cutting: I struggled because my hands were too short to pull and keep the tension in the direction I wanted it to go. Followed Brad Mondo for the bangs, because it seemed easy, which is where the actual regrets began. I cut off too much length from the bangs, despite thinking I calculated enough for the curl. "The munching" sealed the coffin. Didn't think it's humanly possible to cut such uneven bangs despite seeing where it's going wrong. It was like a bad trip. I decided to stop cutting and booked an appointment at the hairdresser in 2 days. Had to pay a delicious price of 73 Euros because it was the closest to my home and the studio seemed the most reliable and reputable. They saved the cut, as expected, but totally disappointed on the blowout part. I thought of what a good job you did in one of your videos and have started practicing myself. It's so hot and it takes so long, my hands get tired and the sectioning is difficult, so I'm very happy to have found a good rehimen for wearing it in its natural state. I will be leaving the hair cutting to the professionals from now on. I do dye my hair with temporary dye though, not much that can go wrong. For now... PS: I love that you always respond to my comments, which is why I wrote so much this time. Parasocial relationships

Hila parker: i am so happy for you it looks like you're whole view on hair has changed a lot and you look absolutely gorgeous with that hair length and color

Jenny Novoa: I cut my own hair for 5+ years and decided to cut my hair a few months ago at the hairdresser. Im glad I did, I knew I wasnt cutting it properly cause it looked a bit mad tbh so my advice is: cut your hair by yourself, have fun with it! But go atleast once a year to the hairdresser so it doesnt spiral out of control ^^ None of the people around me would tell me my hair looked bad, i had to find out by myself :/ But I do have to say youre doing a great job :o ! Way better than what I did to my hair x)

Kamilla: It seems like wolfcut/layers cut is perfect for 2a-2b hair. It actually does not need that much styling to look good.

k: this is how I cut my hair everytime. I have thick wavy hair and this hair cut works perfectly!

kaila: Ive been doing this since I was like 16 and I’m now 24, I love this method so much and I’ve saved so much money!

JP: I’ve tried this method and noticed that the front pieces were going a lot shorter than the back pieces too. You’re the first video I’ve seen that has actually talked about this. I didn’t like how my hair turned out. Idk how so many people are so good at it. But yours looks great. ❤️

Thembalethu : i love how healthy ur hair looks

TheJanaRina: Use the Pigtail method. Supposedly it gives better more even layer (check out Manes by Mell for details). You also have better control over where you are removing hair from with that method.

amiraah: Your hair is so much healthier now ❤️ Can you do an updated hair care routine?

Dee S: The difference in your confidence is astonishing. Well done you.

Mary Kurosawa: You used to be so worried about your hair now you are just choppin it randomly and i love it, you look a lot happier, go girl!

Linda: What an excellent video. Thank you for showing how the back looked after each cut.

sui: It suits you soo well, you did an amazing job and you're so beautiful

Amira Amira: Your hair looks so thicker after your hair journey what did you use ? it looks amazing

Anonymous: I'm so invested in your hair growth journey. Cuz i think we have been dealing with the same issues..

Rachel No: This was so tense but what a pay off! It looks super healthy and thick.

Serendipity: Beautiful hair - you could definitely model!

ice.: Ooh this is so cool! I’ve never seen anyone do this before

Airiel Pearlman: I'm living for the sped up cutting and *crisp* scissor sounds

MommaVapes Beauty: Turned out awesome your hair is beautiful

beblue: it actually turned out really pretty! slay.

Lindsay Engel: Adorable!!! Well done!

GenbrugsSnaller: Ur hair turned out good! U can save a lot of money. And ur hair in on the thicker side. Ur hair is not thin, it's definitely a nicely thick ponytail u've got there.

Sofia-Maria: Omg this was so good! Also loved the curly hair you showed us, can you do a style video on different hair styles that you do?

Tīna Briede: I love you and your videos sooo much, also very relatable

freshmint6452: I like to cut my hair by myself, but my favourite style is not-layered slightly U shape (without bangs) :)

Shelly F: Very nice! Brad Mondo calls this a wolf cut. He has several videos on this. You might like to send him yours to see what he thinks of your method. Good luck!

Anna Sokolova: Brad Mondo should react to thisBut think you did a great job!

Emery G: Girl your hair is so long and pretty!!!

jill ian: Wow your approach and sectioning really paid off i feel like this is the best one i’ve seen

Annija: Looks sooo good

Jasmine flowers: After watching so many of these videos I feel like it only works for super thick hair which can hide the choppy ness and doesn’t mind loosing any thickness

Evelina Balinskaitė: You are so brave

Aishath Aala: Omg you are so brave ♥

Tomiri A.: I don't follow you, but your videos keep popping up randomly. I click based on the title and I always think "ohhh it's her!" I suppose it's a sign I need to subscribe! <3

Beth Peterson: When I used to have long hair with bangs in the late 90’s to early 2000’s. I used to trimmed my bangs a little bit. I never cut my long hair till when I feel in going to a beauty salon. I did colored my own hair to a light blonde color every 3 or 4 months.

Wayne ASMR: Looks really beautiful

baltmv: Looks great!

kristina maria: I just did this 2 days agooo and I love ittt

Annette Miller: The reason you’re not getting much of your back length is because the hair at the base of your neck might not reach the end of your ponytail.

Jennifer Dowell: For anyone else trying this….don’t pull the hair forward & cut like she is. Ur supposed to pull the hair straight up & cut it that way. Her ponytail is also a lil too forward. It should b a lil higher on the head. If u pull the hair down like that it over directs ur layers & will make them much shorter. U can pull ur hair all the way up & put a hair tie around where u want to cut & then bring it down to cut w/o brushing it out or fixing it. Just cut wherever u put the hair tie. Ur ponytail may look crazy from brushing it all up, placing ur hair tie, & bringing it down to cut only bc ur changing the angle of the ponytail but that’s what the hair tie is for. It will save the place u need to cut. If u can cut it while holding it straight up & u don’t need to place a hair tie & bring it down I recommend doing that. Also, invest in some thinning shears off of Amazon or from ur local beauty store & use those on the ends instead of that worthless point cutting. That hardly does anything.

Vorah story: You did a very good job of your hair

Megan Mittelberg: i cant believe how well that went lol

Cindy O: Looks great. Next time tie the pony tail in the center instead of forward

ya mamma: I’m a cosmetology student, while this method is not professional lol, it can be good if you’re just trying to cut you own hair without help. Some suggestions I would give for if you want to do this again are: wet your hair, wet hair is a lot easier to cut and can have a smoother finish. Put the first ponytail on the crown of your head (if you want to keep length, you can pull a small section from the nape to keep out of the pony) and make sure to put the second pony tail holder holding your hair straight up!! If you pull all your hair forward it’s over directing it to the front, which makes it so there’s almost no layers in the back and you’re just cutting more and more off the front and sides (this includes the second pony, just pull them all upwards). Any pony tails you plan to do pull them up, you can put a second holder for control but make sure you put it in upwards! Then you can bring it down to cut. I just wanted to really emphasize that cuz I see so many people not doing that. Point cutting is good to make it not so blunt

Noelle: This method ruined my hair twice and I didn’t learn my lesson.

pete: Your hair is beautiful

Sophie W: Do yourself a huge favour & carefully watch Brad Mondo's guide for lockdown home hair cutting..BELUEVE ME with long hair its an absolute fail safe method HOWEVER proper hairdressing shears need to be used ..I took about 8 inches off & went from over 30 inches to about 22-24 & was shocked how well it tuened out..I dint do many layers either !

Churchmoon1127: I’m sorry… this looks so damn good on u… it’s soooo pretty and red is def ur color

Sana El-Gohary: i recommend the pigtails method from manes by mell

Anya n: You did so good

THE FRUSTRATED NEET ASPIRANT: You're so pretty.. literally GORGEOUS

Mxchelle: I hope Brad mondo reacts to this and puts you in a video :)

Ananda nanda: I saw that you Brazilian straightening, even if it was more than 2 years, it doesn't come out completely from the hair, we get dry hair, ugly ends, we end up having to cut it to improve the appearance of the hair, the perfect hair that you, most of them go through the straightening process to align the wires, or make brushes, etc. what helped to improve the appearance of my hair was to consume more protein, it was my doctor's advice, my hair always had difficulty growing, in addition it had a dry aspect, dry ends etc. I noticed a big difference in 1 year, I consume protein, 3 eggs and 150 grams of beef or chicken and 150 grams of beef or chicken at dinner, it is better to consume beef because it has many in great nutrients, my hair is another thing.

emmess: I do the opposite to save money, I’ll dye my own hair with Manic Panic, but I don’t trust myself to cut it

Marie Watson: I had about an inch off my boob length hair, my 90s bangs had about 2 inches and i had a wash and blowdry straighten, £50!!!! I was only there just over an hour, the cost is real!

Valeria: Perfect!!!!!

Ainsley Jordan: i want brad mondo to react to this

buddy holly: I feel like with the "ponytail method" you end up spending more time fixing it rather than just a one and done. You're better off watching a "long layers" haircut tutorial on YouTube. Yeah you took alot off the front

Vanessa Blacksmith: Love thissss

Alice C: Why dont u dye your own hair? I would argue its far easier dying your own hair than cutting it. Its just applying colour evenly into your roots, plus your natural hair hair is light so u dont even need bleach. You would just have to do some research to find your colour. My hairdresser used to charge 80 euros for my roots, and doing it myself with the exact same hairdresser dye it costs me 20 euros

Sophie W: You havs a compulsion to split your own hair???.surely nobody would do that ??

Marina Riquelme: You put half of you're hair up if you want layers cut the top and then the other half

Aurelija: Why no one wets the hair before cutting? Even hairdressers don't cut dry hair. at least no one cut my hair dray

Vicki Marlene: Pretty hair

Paige Peters: Brad Mondo: HERE I COOOOME

Natasha: Your pulling all your hair to the centre is not gonna change the length only layering.

Daniel Adam: Hi Isabella! Do you have a contact for business inquires? thanks!

Mandy Williams: Good attempt but if you found a good hairstylist you would notice a big difference.

shumaila Kz:

Skelellele: I just tried to give myself a bang trim and I want to cry so bad someone PLEASE tell me it will grow back please please I want to cry

Patricija Fijan: I would never dare to try this

Bola Tonade: Isabella Dromark Who The One Who Cut Her Off Herself Because I saw it And my Oldest Sister Try to Lose My Hair I got Hair like 11 Months Ago so She Have not cut my hair she lose my hair

الثقافة المغربية | Moroccan Culture:

Raghad Alashoor: Try doing dr.choi method It works better Check her channel It is also approved by professionals

jenna greer: i cant believe ppl split their split ends. i love cutting them off. my hair feels so much better after

Lynnell Bonaguidi: ρяσмσѕм

ALEX REY SA AYANA: Very nice,

Christopher Brown MAAGA: Hello

Forrest Loftis: Tdd

sourbee🐝: Hi

ルナLuna: AAAAAh this is triggering me so muuuuch.... If your goal truly is to grow long hair, DO NOT CUT LAYERS!!! Too late now though. But I cut layers in mine YEARS ago, and I still struggle to grow them out, they are harder to trim so you get MORE split ends and all of the layers are much dryer than the ends of my hair and they form knots easily, and you that struggle with frizz, this is literally the worst thing you could have done. Jeez.... I feel bad for you. Hopefully your layers wont end up like mine though. This is the exact cut I did on myself years ago though. RIP. The sides also takes 100 years to grow out.
