Hey everyone: are you doing um so in this tutorial, i'm just going to show you how to make the pattern for this long bonnet, it's good for locks and long braids. So i've already made a video um on how to cut it on the fabric and also how to sew it. However, i think it was a bit confusing for for some people, so i'm just going to do a separate video for the pattern, which is this video and then i'll. Do a separate video on how to put it together so guys before we go into this. Don'T forget to subscribe like at the end and comment also, let's get into it so you're going to need a paper. It could be a wrapping paper. It could be a pattern paper, it's up to you measuring 30 by 20, as you can see so 30 down downwards and then 20 across. So we're going to measure the length of our air bonnet, which is um 26 inches because we'll be adding a strap to it and you find the midpoint at the top, which is 10 inches, because half of 20 is 10. So we find the midpoint at the top and find the midpoint at the bottom, which is 10 inches as well. So at the side we're going to find the midpoint for the side as well. The midpoint is 15 because downwards is 30.. So first you do the length we at the closest side to you, then, at the top you find the midpoint bottom find the midpoint and then up across from you, you find the midpoint. I hope that makes sense. Now we're going to join our marks. So from your length you go to the top midpoint draw. This is freestyle, you draw it as soon as you get to there. You start to come down, so it goes downhill from when you get to that point. So you're going down like you're going down the hill like so till you get to the other midpoint. Can you see that now we need our ruler to connect just make sure the ruler is touching the mark, so you can connect it so from the midpoint at the bottom to the side, member, so you're, going from your length to the top midpoint and then go Down as soon as you get to the top midpoint, i hope this makes sense. Um, it's quite straightforward. I think it's something that you have to try for. Sometimes, when you're watching a video, it might seem a bit difficult, but when you try it and you watch the video and try it along um with the person, then you get it. It'S quite straightforward. If i can do it trust me, you can because i'm still new to sewing as well. So definitely you can do it too, so you just cut out your fabric. Oh not your fabric cut out your paper. Your pattern paper, your wrapping paper. You can use any paper, so i'm just cutting out, so i tried to make a pattern before i didn't have a pattern actually i'll just do it directly on my fabric, because i'm so used to doing that. So i'm making a see this line that i'm drawing is just to indicate to me every time. I want to use this pattern to fold my fabric, so i'm going to fold it on that end. Yes, it's looking backwards because i'm using the front of my cut the front of my phone camera so always look always look, there's always a reverse, so you just i just will fold just to know that i'm going to fold my fabric on that end when i'm Cutting it - and this is for the adult air bonnet for the kids airborne all you have to do is reduce the length. So i have my fabric unfold and the fabric measures 40. Instead of 20, it will be 40 inches by 30 inches. So we fold it and then place our pattern on there. Pc is folded. So that's why? Where the pattern will be on the folded side of the fabric and i'm going to pin it down because this fabric is um satin, so it's slippery, it's silky, so um. I tend to just pin the pattern down to it, so i can cut it accurately. Yeah take your time, guys, i'm showing you that sewing is not as fast as this sim on camera. Sometimes it takes time you have to make sure everything's laid properly. That'S why um i try not to edit out too much so you just see the process that is not as fast as it looks once these videos are edited. So just take your time, you can do it um as just watch as you go along, get your stuff out and then just do it um whilst you're watching it. Then i think it might be much more easier that way and then yeah just cut out your pattern, and you have your you: have your um fabric ready to be sewn and to sew this fork. I i i do the reversible one, so i line it with a plain um satin fabric, so you just have to cut out. Do the same thing for your other fabric. If you watch my other video, then you see how to make this long, braided bonnet with the strap. I also have one with the elastic so just watch that for the elastic one the length is 28 inches, but for the one with the strap it's 26 inches, because you know once you add the strap, it makes it longer and there you have it. I'M cutting out the other fabric, please, if you're new to my channel, please do not forget to subscribe like if you like what you see and also comment below. Let me know what you've enjoyed about the video if you're going to be trying this video um trying um your own, cutting your own pattern, making your own pattern rather um. Yes, let me know i like to hear from you guys i get excited when i get comments, so yes, guys, i'm looking forward to it. Thank you guys for watching and stay safe.
