So this is going to be a video on how i was able to grow my hair or my afro out so long. So, to sum up my hair now, my hair is about 13 inches, some places and it's 16 to 17 inches other places like the longest part of my hair is probably here, and the shortest part is here um and the back is pretty long too. People on tiktok were asking how i grew my afro out so long like what i personally did so number. One thing that i started doing is not flat ironing it. I stopped back in 2016 and i haven't done it since, like at all, and if you really want to flat iron your hair, i would say that you should only flat iron, it maybe once every month at the very most, maybe twice a year. If you can do that, but uh once a month and always use a heat protectant and try to use the effigy strengthening treatment to strengthen your hair before and after you're done with uh flat ironing it number two is that i said i started oiling my scalp. Every other week or every other day i use the do grow oil, and if i had to recommend a growth mixture for your hair to actually grow, i would say: rosemary oil, vitamin e oil, jojoba oil and peppermint oil. Those are probably the four main growth oils that i know about, and those are the ones that work the best for my hair. So if you wanted to make your own hair growth mixture use those four oils number three, i always slept with a satin bonnet or a satin pillowcase. Let me actually show you my satin pillowcase, so i get these black ones off of amazon and i like these, the best because uh sometimes i just forget to put my bonnet on or i misplace it, and i have about 300 bonnets. But i still don't know where half of them are so you should have at least two or three uh: silk pillowcases or satin pillow cases, and you should also have a couple of these laying around wherever you take a nap. Maybe one near your couch, maybe one near your bed, maybe one at your friend's house, whatever uh. What is it number four? I did box braids and twists consistently for a year or two straight like back to back braids and twists, and i realized why that helped. My hair grow so much it's because i was retaining length and i wasn't touching it as much so if i had to recommend some hairstyles for you to do so that you don't have to touch it. I'D recommend wigs uh twist box, braids cornrows uh styles. You can keep in for over two weeks. Mini twists are my favorite to do with my natural hair, but i don't always get the chance to use them, because i always have to do video promos and for men. I do recommend twist uh finger coils, uh, individual braids and cornrows for men too. I think this is like four or five. I forgot, which one i won i'll just say. Five uh number five is that i started deep conditioning every single wash day. I remember my hair broke off the most when i was not deep conditioning, especially when i was straightening it every week. I think it was. I did not deep condition. I just shampooed. I just did normal conditioner a deep conditioner, especially strengthening deep conditioner, especially if you're using heat all the time is going to save your hair. I promise you it is next. I also clarified my scalp a lot, especially when i was low porosity. I'M not hyper, i'm not low porosity anymore, because i bleached my hair and i dyed it black and that's why it doesn't look like it should be. But it's blue. My hair is bleached underneath this color, but my hair turned high porosity because of the bleach and when i was low porosity, i got a lot more product build up, which means that i need to be clarifying my scalp some more when i was low porosity and I had non-dyed hair like i had virgin hair, i needed to clarify my scalp a lot, especially since i was using a lot of gels and heavy creams, so i used the aztec clay mask mixed with vinegar on my hair and i'm pretty sure i have a Video on my page about that of me using it, and i would use that to help my curl pattern, because my curls would get really frizzy when i didn't properly take off all the build up. So if you are low porosity and you have a problem with product buildup or you notice, your hair is just getting really undefined and it's really not like curling up the way that it used to. Then i would recommend the acid clay mask or a very clarifying shampoo next is, i made sure i knew which products worked for me, so i started reading ingredient list on hair products a lot more than i used to and, for example, there was a hair product That i was sent last week that i will not be doing a video on anymore, because i saw that it had rubbing alcohol in it. So if you see, i think it's ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol in any of your ingredients, then i would recommend you either throw that away or you just stay away from it, because they purposely put that in their products to dry your hair out and it sucks Because that product seemed like it would have worked really well if they didn't put that in there. So that kind of disappointed me, but i will not be doing a video on that product. I also don't want to get sued, so i'm not going to say which product it was. All i'm going to say is heavily review the products that you're using but anyways the products that i use personally is the dollar curl club leave in conditioner in the dollar. Curl club defining cream - i use whatever shampoo i can find for real. I use generally whatever conditioner right now, i'm using the palmer's uh coconut oil conditioner. I think it is, and i'm also using the shea moisture repair mask with a jamaican black, castor oil. I think it is and the manuka honey one from shea moisture. Those are my two favorite deep conditioners. I'M trying to look for some new ones, though just like, because i don't know maybe shea moisture isn't like using the same formula or whatnot. I don't know for real if it's working, but to me it feels like it's doing something. Also, when it comes to your products, i am trying to get into product formulation and i'm trying to like look up what actually works in products, and it turns out that most of the products that you're using unless it specifically has bad ingredients. It'S all pretty much. Gon na do the same, there's certain like ingredients that you can put in something that you can really just make at home by yourself. But if i made a video on all the ingredients in a product you shouldn't be using, i think it was a video i made before this uh. My very last video before i took this huge break so uh. Look at that look at the ingredient list of stuff that you shouldn't be using and avoid those in all the products that you're using next thing that helped grow. My hair out using satin, scrunchies satin scrunchies, are probably the best type of hair ties you can use. If your hair can like fit into that, because i know people with shorter hair has to use like smaller uh rubber bands, so obviously most people or not most people, some people can't use satin scrunchies. But if you, your hair, is long enough that it can like take satin scrunchies use those instead because it won't snack on your hair. The way that normal scrunchies will the the next thing that helps grow. My hair really long is. I changed my diet, a little more so if you're only eating carbs and sugar, your hair doesn't have enough nutrients to grow. It'S that's. Not the priority your body is going to take is to grow your hair long. If you're eating like crap, i would recommend at least having the normal serving of vegetables and fruits a day. You don't have to do more than that necessarily or take a multivitamin. Something that'll give you like the nutrients and vitamins your body needs to have your hair grow, i wouldn't say, take biotin in my opinion, i mean if your skin can withstand biotin. Take it if you're not willing to risk your skin for your hair, don't take biotin. You can try it out and see what it does, but if it messes up your skin, you can't handle that just don't do it because for me it messed up my skin really bad. Next, a supplement that i've seen that actually does work as sulfur uh, sulfuric acid. I think it was uh. No, it's msn powder. If you ingest msm powder um, i get the one with the orange top uh with the orange top on it. It'S on amazon, but if you take that daily, it can help grow your hair, a lot because your hair is made out of sulfur or something i have to look that up a little more but um. I did notice a difference in it. It just tastes like crap, so you might want to take it with like tea or something and uh drink it with orange juice, msm powder, because that'll have it digest better in your system, so you won't be doing it for nothing essentially another thing that also will Help your hair grow really long that i have started doing more often is keeping my scalp greased. I forget to do it. I do it like once a month, but i should be doing it more often, but make sure you're using a clarifying shampoo. After you put grease on your scalp, because that can also stunt your growth to an extent just because uh a lot of product build up, means that there's not a good pathway for your follicles to grow so and grease typically has silicone in it. So if you, if you're using like a silicone uh type of grease, then you should be clarifying your hair every wash day or every week. In my opinion, for me, another thing that helped me grow my hair. When i was doing box, braids was when i started. Actually taking care of my hair within my protective styles, so if you're not taking care of your hair and your protective styles you're, just neglecting it not putting on a bonnet, not sleeping with a satin pillowcase um, leaving it dry, letting things snag on it, then your Hair is also not going to grow very well, because you're going to be losing your length, it's not a matter of fact of your hair growing, necessarily most of the time. It'S a matter of fact of you losing your hair before you can even actually see the length come out. So basically, like the moral of the story, is you need a good foundation for your hair to grow out of your scalp, and you also need to be retaining your ends and stuff like that. You should also be trimming at least i'd for me. Personally, i say every one once every four months or three months, some people said that was too often for some reason, but that's usually what like hairdressers go by uh me personally, i only do it like twice a year uh, but that's because my hair is usually Tucked, i don't wear it out like this all the time um lately i have been, though, because of all the videos i've been needing to make, but um, don't don't don't do what i do because uh, if you don't have to do it, don't do it put Your hair away, uh, i wish i could put my hair away, but i have money to make like long, hair or money. So uh don't do what i'm doing uh and leave your hair out all the time always keep it in twist braids um cornrows a wig. Whatever you need to keep your hair tucked in away for two two weeks and up for a time and also have a weekly routine, that you stick by, that can help your hair, because i notice a lot of people just kind of do whatever and they don't Comb out the hair for like two months and then they just leave it like dirty and stuff like that. If that's, what you want to do truly go ahead and do it, but if you're gon na expect to see growth you're like super wrong about that, you don't have to comb your hair all the time, but don't leave it in a puff and let it just Tangle on itself for three weeks straight and then wonder why you're losing a bunch of your ends and you're having a ton of breakage. That'S because you didn't cover your ends and because you didn't have it in some sort of protective style, and i actually see a lot of people whose hair i do personally and that i evaluate for them. They leave their hair out for a long time and i have to detangle their hair and their hair is really like, matted and stuff like that, and they lose a lot of their ends because they just did not pay attention to what they should have been doing. They should have kept their hair and twist or something something in a stretched state, not a wash and go and leave that there for three or four weeks you're going to at least have a twist out if you're gon na leave it out. For that long. Just have your hair stretched to a certain extent, because then it won't be that bad, but your curls curling upon itself multiple times, especially when it's like humid outside and then it like, shrinks up and then expands again. It shrinks up expands again. It'S just gon na become one big knot, so i wouldn't recommend that if i were you, that's essentially everything i have to say about how you can grow your hair or how i've grown my hair um. I do need to do some of these. More often, i actually want to do like more of a growth challenge for my hair uh, so that i can see how much growth i can have in a year for 2022.. If i do something like that, i'll make a video on it and show you how i do that, but in the meantime, that's all that i have to say about how i grew my afro out so big how i threw my curls. So big um follow my instagram and tick tock. It'S all big head justice. It'S all the same at handle check that out. If you want to i'm gon na, be trying to post at least once a week on youtube. Whenever i have time um i've been postponing it for a long time, because i thought it's going to be way more difficult than it actually is it's really not so i'm going to try to make more videos like this. Let me know in the comments what you guys want to see and i'll try to deliver it. If i have the time to

Aaliyah Gladden: Can we just appreciate how gorgeous she is!!!!

A. Lee: I follow the exact same regimen and my hair is also waist length. Yours is beautiful.

TRUTHSERUM: Keeping hair in natural no heat STRETCHED STATE is key! Because us high shrinkage tiny coils/kinky wearing a puff for several days or more causes so much matting, tangles knots. #BREAKAGE CITY

Lowkey Highkey: You can grow healthy hair flat ironing your hair! The key is: *use heat protectant *USE A HEAT SAFE MOISTURIZER, no silk presses *low manipulation hairstyles *DONT USE TOO MUCH HEAT FOR YOUR HAIR TYPE!!!! * wrap it nightly righter in two twist or wrap it around your head (keeps it straight and promotes growth) *I straightened 2x a month, biweekly and the at was it. No touch ups * KEEP YOUR ENDS PROTECTED FROM FRICTION *OIL YOUR ENDS AT LEAST WEEKLY! I did this for over ten years and my hair was thicker than it has been the past ten with no heat. And it was past my waist. Still is

Punkin J-son: I stopped straightening my hair years ago but I wasn’t doing all this stuff and my hair hasn’t been growing. I just learned so much just less than 5minutes in and will have to listen more than once to make it part of my routine outside of taking notes. I love you for sharing! Thank you

BanjoeFlair: Being a hair content creator is hard, you have to wear it out more often than you would normally or even style it for content. Totally understand you

Good Work: Doing #6 has been the trap for me, because I keep wanting to test out different products by doing half my head with one and half with another. The issue is that then I can't wait to take down my twist/knots so that I can have my answer, which side came out better. I've been doing this to find the ideal shampoo, deep conditioner for protein, deep conditioner for moisture, leave-in, styling products for TOs, styling products for heat styling, WnG, etc. So it's so many weeks of constantly wanting to see what my hair looks like out. I'm largely done now. Just have another 3 washes to go testing to have my ideal lineup for everything. But my hair won't fully get a rest until I stop deciding which products will be best for me.

Kehinde Odeyemi: Your hair has grown so much, and I admire it’s health. You look beautiful❤️ Trying to achieve this length in the next 3 years!

candiigurl7893: How long did it take for your hair to grow between the before and after pic?

The Harvest is Right!🌍 by:EDM: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous

Héva 🦢: I live how complete with all the details this video is wheww cause I’ve watched lot of videos but some of them are not like this

charliehorse: Great video and lovely hair! I am curious about your haircut specifically. Do you have it trimmed into a specific shape, if so do you mind telling me? Thanks!

It’sDynaisha: Ok. I’m about to transition back to natural AGAIN ‍♀️

S C: Your hair is amazing wow...

Sharii: If you want a straighter look, try using roller sets

Journie Livingston: Great video! Please keep the YouTube videos coming

Layle Walden: This may be a silly question, but did you do box braids with your natural hair or box braids with extensions/fake hair? Sometimes people do braids with their natural hair only. I want box braids but I have heard that braids can cause hair loss due to the tension.

CamilleBrandy: Whew chile…her hair is the truth! Class is in seasion

Mia Porche: I have silk pillowcases but what I hate is the fact that anything that is on your hair transfers to the pillowcase and it leaves stains... I also don't want to put my face on it because that will cause breakouts....

Purple 🟣: Interesting about the alcohol part because there's apparently a type alcohol that actually hydrates that is used for hair conditioning. For example I use Redken laminar water that has alcohol in it but it's not the same as rubbing alcohol it's the kind that actually hydrates and I'm telling you that when I comb through with it my hair it glides through like butter and I have ethnic curly hair. And I even actually recommend if you're going to straighten your hair to use this product along with sealing it using olaplex one and two because basically what the laminar water does it fills in all the spaces where your hair is opened because of bleaching or over straightening like split ends and then when you seal it with the olaplex it's like you've rebonded it pretty much.

Blue: The Aztec clay mask! Dude! I used that on my face

Dee: I love your voice thank u for the great tips

Samoan Thompson: So many people say shea moisturize changed (probably cuz it was sold off to a new owner) and Cantu causes build up on low porosity

shaune hemphill: Hey girl where you been you look amazing

amEAGLEBABY5: Your hair is gorgeous... and I love your shape ... it's kinda similar to mine but I have a bit more layers

No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ““Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14‬ “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.
