My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Enjoy browsing!

Love,

Lucy

I wanted to tell you a little bit about today's sponsor, because this video is sponsored by June's Journey.. June'S Journey is a hidden object, mystery game set in the 1920s.. It is a mobile game where you work through scenes. Look for clues to solve a murder mystery.! You follow, along with June Parker, who sports a lovely straight 1920s hairstyle by the way as she tries to solve her sister's murder.. So you just progresses on and on. As you keep playing., I am at level 100 now and the game is still really fun and engaging.. I am honestly obsessed with it. I play every single day.. Please allow me to brag a little bit about the fact that I own the high score in every single scene. I'Ve played. - I am unbeaten so far in all the levels Yeah I really enjoy it.. It is beautifully made. I love how every chapter ends with a little cliffhanger to really keep you engaged in the story, which is really really fun.. It is relaxing, but it also helps to train your brain a little bit.. I can really feel my short-term memory working here and working well. ( high scores ), They have hundreds of beautifully painted scenes waiting. So if you would like to play this game as well, it is completely free to download.. Katherine Morelle: It’s interesting that “the headphones” is just a medieval style. Round plaits over the ears were a great way to show a peek of hair at the side, just under the veil. And the “cloche hat” is, with the exception of the side part, the popular way for women to wear their hair in the 1840s. Everything old is… old again, I guess. But it’s interesting to see hairstyles reused in completely different eras.

Legawien84: Pro tip for the ones playing Junes Journey: play it in a different language! It's great for learning new vocabulary, as it is all picture based. I'm training my French every day :)

Sara Villela: When I first looked at the thumbnail I thought you had actually cut your hair!!! These are super cool hairstyles. I look forward to trying them! ☺️

Cecile Greer: Lovely! Seems like the 20s were a lot about covering the ears, just like the early Victorian styles!

noelle4luv: Beautiful! I recently watched the 2019 movie Opehlia. I love Daisy Ridley's hairstyles in that movie, especially the intricate updos. I haven't seen anyone on Youtube recreate a complex pre raphaelite look (that's not just flowing long hair), could you do one? Would love to see! There's one scene in the movie where she wears her hair up and to the side with a red ribbon and it's so lovely!

イブ: it's so nice seeing another fellow person with bangs trying out historical hairstyles thank you

Shelley: Thank you so much for doing hair tutorials for thin hair. I have followed your channel long enough to know that you have thin hair (it doesn't look thin!) and I appreciate you showing your followers hairstyles you can achieve without extensions! Thank you Lucy! <3

𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚐𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕 𝚑𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢 𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚛;: loove these hairstyles! you should definitely do some of the ladies' hairstyles throughout the seasons of Poirot, they're gorgeous 30's hairstyles (one of my faves is Jane Wilkinson's hair from s7e2!), i'd love to see your take on them <3

Agi Magi: Love it! All of them turned out so lovely, definitely going to try these!

V P: Thank you for this tutorial! I have straight hair and desperately need more vintage straight hairstyles ideas

Sammy with a Why: This is so cute!! I’d love to see a video where you do those historical pigtail looped braid things, I think that makes sense

Miranda Fullen: I’m so happy for some hair content. I feel like it has been awhile!

Ashley Orozco: You looked so beautiful on this hairstyles! I love them for shore I'm going to try this hairstyles

Rebecca McNally: fantastic video as always, i loved the setting and music. the second hairstyle would be perfect for winter for me as i dont like to wear hats or earmuffs because i get too hot but it would keep my ears warm. thanks for sharing.

Kenneth Hamilton: Gorgeous and it was nice watching her do it as well

Tere Mertz: I have been watching you for years, and I must say, you are so unbelievably beautiful it borders on unreal

blind ferret: the headphones one was so cute!! i love middle parts sm you look great <3

Emiel Terzieff-Godefroy: you look so gorgeous!! so good to see you back :D

Mykasan: love the cloche look! so pretty!

Dee Dee: 1920s hairstylies in the 2020s anyway are beautiful ❤️ We missed you Lucy

Brandy Loutherback: 1920s bobs also worked for the 1930s, just longer and more feminine!

Sara Razak: My hair used to go down to my butt and my mom refused to let me cut it... She'd pin it up for me to my shoulders when I wanted shorter hair <3 This video reminded me of that!

Michal Strawn: Oh, I love that hat! Is it widely available or did you get it vintage?

Anna Adams: Hi! Could you do a brief history of Dutch fashion history- is it the same as English or American styles?

Suzalinn: I'm getting strong Evie from The Mummy vibes from that third hairstyle. It looks great on you! The hat just made it extra nice. "The Headphones", aka the Leia hair? At least your ears would be cosy in the winter....

Gurjit Kaur: Hi :) This is random question, but what lipstick do you have on? I love it!

Kirsten Paff: Huh, I didn't realize the 20s were into the Princess Leia look.

Aruna Noelle: Hi I loved your video. Gorgeous!!!

Dawn Gable: The cloche style looked the best on you. I think that with your face structure, you can pull off the twenties era hair style.

Dahlia 31: She is amazing in everything

Valentinuuu: Funny! Just what I was looking for yesterday evening! How convenient haha

AD F: That bob looks so cute on you!

Caroline: How did you know that I was _just_ watching Downton Abbey and wanted to try 20's hairstyles??

blur_is_my WORLD: Damn, I'd love to try this.

Caffeine Kick☕🍂: Hello, I don't know if you still want to do the Beauty Beacons of Fiction anymore, which I absolutely love the videos, but I have a couple of suggestions. Lilli Hoffman from "Snow White: A Tale of Terror" and Danielle de Barbarac from "Ever After: A Cinderella Story".

Mukta Mishra: Youtube recommend me your 12yrs old sock bun video. You were so cute back then and now also ❤️❤️.

Emily Rose: Ive tried the faux bob once when I had long hair but my hair is too smooth

Gerdine: Oke, but what is the style of music called that you used for this video! I love it!

Anja Beck: I ve been waiting for this xD Love your videos

Dee S: Advanced version….don’t use elastic!

Payal ll: Omg you're so beautiful love from india ❤️

кайрымдуу болунузчу: Be beautiful. Be smart. Be happy.

Shannon Whitlatch: Sadly, can't make it work on my thick, wiry auburn tresses.

Ankita M: do LADY MARY CRAWLEY...DOWNTON ABBEY...from WORLD WAR 1 episodes plz...in some easy way

Sdeb132 Debruler: I play. June's Journey too! I'm on level 680!

Simar Preet: ❤

Lindsey Hamilton: I suggest look into no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.

Meaghan van Loenen: Love the video, but had to mute it 3:50 in because of the music >_<

Roza Queen: I love you
