How I Moisturize My Natural Hair For Healthy Long Hair | Motherhood And Natural Hair Care Chit-Chat

Becoming a mom has definitely changed my lifestyle. My life now resolves around my baby. I live on her time .

I must mention that Prayer has been instrumental in helping me in this season of motherhood, playing my role of a wife and being productive. It’s been a beautiful experience.

Moisturizing our natural hair is a major component to attaining flourishing natural hair. Moisturizing our natural hair nourishes the hair; thus, prevents dryness and subsequent breakage.

When we have styled our hair, it is especially important that we do not abandon the hair but adapt a habit of regularly moisturizing the hair. In this video, I moisturize my hair while chatting with you about motherhood and sharing some natural hair tips along the way. I hope you find it helpful .

Hello, you all so i just got a brief chance to sit down to do my hair. Actually, i got a brief chance because my baby is sleeping, and i said you know what let me come and do my hair. I did laundry every time i went to go, try to put it away and it's baby's clothes by the way. Every time i go to try to put it away baby needs attention, so the laundry had been just there for, like, i think, like two days or three days, i don't even know, but i finally have been able to fold them and put them all away. I just finished doing that and she's still sleeping. So i said you know what let me sit and do my hair. I washed my hair last week monday and then i put it in these plots or these braids i had on a banana clip. My hair just needs attention. First thing: i'm going to be doing is to just moisturize my scalp, i spritz a little bit of water onto my scalp. I'M going to be using coconut oil to just seal that in i'm just going to re-moisturize my hair and then i'm going to actually just like retwist each section, i'm not going to re-read in our pregnancy photo shoot. My hair was out and i'll show a picture. I didn't even plan for that hairstyle like i always pray. I really always pray. I'M like lord. Please help me with the hairstyle, because i i never really know what i want to do. Really she loves that hairstyle it came out so cute. It was only for that day, but it was just like so cute and it was very appropriate for the pictures have the water in my scalp. So i just want to kind of massage it into my scalp. I'M going to put some at my edges as well to try to work fast, because i just don't have that much time to spare anymore. I have a newborn. I love her so much. I really do like she's so precious. I love this girl. My sleep has been interrupted. You know because of her, because i'm waking up in the middle of night to feed her and all of that, but it is so worth it like. I love her so much okay, so i'm gon na apply the coconut oil into my scalp and i'm going to massage that into my scalp. Wait, i'm trying to listen to see if she's awake, so she is in the other room. I have a camera in that room so that i can watch what's going on but sometimes like when she cries. I could hear it all the way in this room, so i'm going to be working fast. I really honestly pray that the lord will keep this baby sleeping for me so that i can do my hair, because i really need to do this hair. I'M just going to apply a little bit of my shea butter mix to my edges. As you can see. Just add a little bit of that to my. I just got some clips here and i love these clips. One thing about these braids: it takes a while to remove them, so i don't enjoy doing them, but i like to do these, because this is how i stretch my hair and i have a whole video talking about this. Usually, if i want to put in my medium sized twists, i will you know, put these plates into my hair or braids into my hair, and it really really helps to stretch out my hair very well. So with each section. What i am going to do is that i'm going to add just a little bit of water. I'Ve got my spray bottle here and i'm going to add just a little bit of it to each section, and then i am going to seal that in with my shea butter mix and i'm going to retwist my hair, i'm going to go check on her. So the camera that we use it comes with an app, so the app is actually on my phone and i'm filming with my phone. So i didn't want to switch over because that means i have to stop the video. So, anyway, i went to go check on her and she is fast asleep and i pray that she stays asleep. She'S been sleeping, for, i think at least an hour. So far thing is usually she'll sleep for like three hours, sometimes even four hours in the morning. So usually, her first nap is from like 10 o'clock, sometimes even earlier, like on sunday, she sleeps earlier, but let's say an average of like 10 o'clock to about like one in the afternoon, sometimes like two like, but at least like 12 1.. That'S like her really long stretch, which is really nice, because once she sleeps, i can get a lot done. You know, but today, for whatever reason, i actually think it's my fault, because today i i didn't put her down early enough like she fell asleep at like. I think, like 10 30, which was not good, you know, so i think by the time i put her down. I think she slept for about an hour honestly. She didn't sleep for a long time at all, so she's very tired was having a hard time actually going back to sleep. So finally, finally, finally, she fell asleep and i was like oh thank you lord then i i finished the laundry and then after the laundry - and i said, okay, let me go ahead and try to do my hair um okay. So this is my hair. Okay. This is i like this texture, rather than my hair smells so good. Oh, this is what i used for my hair, so i actually recently purchased this shampoo. This is the suave professionals, and this is rosemary and mint. I don't know if i like it so much. I feel like it's not as moisturizing as my usual shampoo and conditioner, which is the same brand, but it is the almond and shea butter. This is my favorite favorite from this brand, so this is the conditioner. So i use this shampoo and i use this conditioner um and i really like this one and it's very cheap too. You can get this from walmart for less than five dollars. So yeah, that's what i use um anyway, so it leaves my hair smelling so so so so good, i'm going to apply just a little bit of water just to hydrate the section of hair. I want to hydrate this section of hair and actually i think, i'm going to go ahead and add just a little bit of cocoa nut oil all right. So now it is hydrated, but it's not soaking wet. I'M going to add just a little bit of coconut oil to seal that moisture into my hair. It'S the coconut oil helps to soften the hair as well. So that's why that's one of the reasons i like to add it. So this is my shea butter mix and i am going to mix that in really well into my palm and i'm going to apply it to the section all right you all. So i'm going to be working that into my hair strands. I want to make sure that um, my hair strands are well coated with the product and i also, as you can see, pay attention to the ends of my hair as well. Now i am going to just twist my hair, so i divide it into two try to be even, but sometimes it's not even, and then i start twisting. I just want to mention that twists are a really great way to keep my hair stretched and really it is my go-to style. I twist my hair about 99.9 of the time. I always like to put this a little bit more of my shea butter mix at the ends of my hair. Now, as you can see, i've got some bumps in the road, but that's okay, honestly, that's okay! I'M not looking for a perfect twist. It most likely had something to do with the way that i divided my section alright. So what do you all think it looks nice and shiny right? It looks really good all right, so i just checked in the camera and she's still sleeping. I really love this texture. I guess this is a braid out so pretty by the way i'm finished with this section, and can you tell the difference between these hydrated and moisturized twists versus what i had before the braids that were just dry and you know just needed some attention. So these are very nice and hydrated and moisturized, so i am going to be doing this section. I love this and i'm going to apply just a little bit of water to the section and it's a pretty large section of hair and as i'm doing this, i try, to, like mildly detangle mildly. I definitely do not apply a comb on this because i don't close my hair dry. I just don't let my hair dry um, it's just going to break my hair, so i just apply my fingers as the tool, if needed all right. So i'm gon na add a little bit of coconut oil to this section to soften the section, but also to seal in that moisture, which is the water that i have applied to the section right. So i have my shea butter mix in this coconut tub. I'M gon na take quite a bit of it. Look at this because i've got a big section. Moisturized hair is going to do three things, and i have this in my ebook. Moisturized hair is going to be soft, it's going to be smooth and it's going to be shiny. Okay. So if your hair is moisturized, it's going to be soft, smooth and shiny. So that is what we see on this side of my hair. Is that it's soft, smooth and shiny we've got two more. Thank you jesus. Thank you. Jesus! Thank you. Jesus! Thank you. Jesus. I just checked the camera again and my madame is sleeping praise god praise the lord. God is good. You know, you know, god answers prayer. He really does you know. One may say that my prayer, that the lord would keep my baby sleeping is very silly, but you know what as silly as it is, god answered my prayer. Okay, honestly, you don't understand how grateful i am to god right now. The fact that i am virtually finished with my hair, okay is an amazing thing. All right, i'm gon na go ahead and do the same thing same thing as in water, oil and my shea butter mix and it's very important to apply your products in a very layered fashion. That helps you to retain more of your moisture and keep your hair moisturized for a long period of time, and so that is why i moisturize my hair this way and my hair stays moisturized the entire week. Typically, i will re-moisturize like this once a week, and that is really all i need and it works and in my ebook there's a link in the description below i'm currently working on an updated version where i'm going to be putting in some q a questions and Then also some other content. Thank you. Jesus. My hair is done these days. Getting my hair done is a luxury. Okay, all right you all! This is the finished product and it is all done uh. My twists are very chunky, as you can see, but that's fine. I like chunky twists. I like the way that it looks when i finally style it, and so in this um particular video. I decided that i was going to do a french braid, and so i just basically just do an inverted braid all the way down and then toward the end. I tuck in the ends of my hair, underneath the braid for protective styling protective styling is basically just hiding the ends of your hair, and this is what a lot of people really need to do. More of you know, when you want your hair to be long. You have to invest in hiding your ends a lot, because overexposure of your ends will cause your ends to be dry and brittle and you're not going to be able to retain length, and so investing in protective styling is very, very important for your length retention goals. I'M gon na be wearing this for the next few days um until next week. You know what i hear her, so i really want to give god praise, because i've been able to finish my hair. I guess we finished at the same time: she's awake and my hair is done. It'S a win-win situation, so praise god all right! You all, ladies. I just want to just encourage you to prioritize your hair, no matter what season you're in and definitely involve god in the process. You know, pray to him about a hair pray to him about how you should manage all of your responsibilities and honestly he does make a way all right. Ladies, i will talk to you in another video bye,

Marla Tunstall: I love that you pray about your hair styles. Talking to God about my natural hair has helped me tremendously. I receive so many compliments on my hair because I talk to my Heavenly Father. ❤

1GoldenBreeze: You can either use a braid removal tool or the pointed end of a parting comb to help you remove your braids quickly. I have found them to be so helpful. Once my hair passed waist length it was really a chore to take down my braids. I'm always fascinated by differences in how different heads of hair react to products. My hair doesn't react well to coconut oil or shea butter. I will be brittle and frizzy if I use them. When God is in your life he's in all of it from the top of your head to the souls of your feet and all around you!. Absolutely nothing wrong with praying about the time needed to finish your hair.

Yvonne Joy: Young lady you are glowing! The glory of God is all over you. You are absolutely beautiful. Yes God deserves all the glory He is faithful! Blessings to you and your beautiful family

Mary Jaber Nyiri: I like your simple way of moisturizing your hair. Nice, thick and long hair . You are such a beautiful queen I can’t wait until mine gets this longer. May God bless you.

Jaerian Moffett: You are so beautiful, and I love how you ensure that God is apart of your life even the seemingly small parts❤️

ndidi nwosu: These videos are very refreshing because I can relate with the hustle and bustle of balancing motherhood and everything else. Also I love that you show you dont have to be a hair care product junkie in order to have beautiful healthy natural hair. Aliya Stewart: I love thanking God for the “small silly” prayers. I also love singing to Jesus, Jesus, Jesus …. He is the answer. I love your sweet videos. Thank you ☺️

BORNtoRun: YOUR hair is just beautiful. IT looks like extensions. What kind of nanny-cam do you use? I have one but I can't figure-out how to work it, because the instructions are in Chinese

Gifty Avornu: Very beautiful

shakeem fuller: How do you make your DIY Shea butter mix?

Nickynatro *: Girl I can relate to the laundry...Our babies be like...I am priority everything else can take the back seat.

Just wondering whether you like or dislike the black soap? Or whether it is not available in your area? just asking. Can you offer me some feedback please? Thanks, God Bless.

Nyendwoha Julius: I'm struggling with my ages please advise me thanx.

Sibongile Mhlana: Your hair is beautiful but i like you hands

t.c: Hey there, nice video. But it's such a distraction to try and listen to you over the music. No music needed, in a natural conversation with someone you usually don't have to talk to someone or try to focus on what they are saying over music. I don't know who came up with this idea on YouTube. But back to what I was saying, I don't think you need the music.
