Hey guys welcome to a brand new episode of the third hair show, and it's a very special one today, because it's kids here and it's good - didn't get her haircut short because she wanted to, but because she had to. I thought this was a cool story to share it's something: people don't talk about a lot. It'S Brave! It'S cool, I'm very happy you're! Here we just gave you a haircut fresh trim because your hair is very curly. Why? Well? I have um breast cancer. I had breast cancer healthy, I've got chemotherapy, my hair fell out or was going to fall out again shorts and before yeah before it fell out before it fell out. So I had my own hair on my head on a bag. They made a hairpiece out of it yeah yeah, but I had very long hair and um, but then breast cancer yeah messed it all up. I still watch videos of a hair. That'S nicely done. Look in the mirror, I'm like oh yeah to him, I'm sure yeah. So that's uh, that's actually very different than the clients that usually come in over here and, unfortunately you're, not the only one but yeah the biggest difference is your hair isn't showed by choice. How was it to go short then? I hated it. I really hated it. Yeah I looked at myself in the mirror. I'M like! Oh I'm not! This is not me. It started to fall out. I shaved it up and I was like okay, that's that's much better than the short hair did you do it yourself? Yeah actually went short. First yeah I had a hairdresser somewhere yeah, not over here. No, no, that's not good, but so you went for a shortcut because it's less long, hair falling out like yeah, also - and so I had my hair - is from my own hair yeah. But then I I had straight hair, I had um, so it was just like I don't know. I didn't like it yeah just standing up straight out. It was really short and then you lost more hair yeah, but you shaved it off yourself, yeah at home, yeah. Well, I, when I shaved it, I was like, oh because I had like short hair yeah and I didn't like it so I shaved with them. I was like okay, this is better for me. It works better and I had my earpiece. I didn't wear it that much because yeah and it's aching yeah when your hair fall. Oh really, it hurts. When you have uh yeah, it's warm and it's yeah. It is yeah. It'S actually what we talk about a lot over here. It'S part of your identity. So if you feel uh feminine and cool with short hair, then it's all good, but if you have the same feelings with long hair, it's awful to go short without a choice. I still that's me. That'S me yeah now, you're staying short now just kidding. Now we have to disappoint the guys on girls and women and men that are watching for short hair. It'S coming back. It'S growing out. It'S growing mag with a little bit of curls. They call it chemo curls right and what I see on other clients is that it kind of loosens up or you just cut off the tips when it's longer because of the new hair after chemo, when the medication is out of your system. It'S more like your old hair, so a little bit straighter, it might change, but the biggest changes are it'll get a little bit wavy, but you don't have a lot of curls. You can see it already. On top, we just trimmed it a little on the sides. In the back, you see that the hair over there is way more straight again, you're pretty down to earth and I'm quite open about your disease and everything. That'S around it there. You write a whole book on Facebook, so everybody can follow your journey. It'S quite uh confronting sometimes you think whoa, but it's an honest story: yeah didn't you have the feeling people were staring at you and thinking something or what do a lot of people? Don'T think of me now yeah um, but everybody in my uh surroundings notes about my story because you're very open about it. Yeah uh, but there are also people at school um and they don't follow my blog and they were like looking at me like for them. It'S yeah long, hair one day and being bold, the other day, yeah it's in their eyes, but I don't know I don't care yeah, you don't care, but I think it would be so much fun to just say what are you looking at or what's the problem Or just confronting people that I did that once and because I had to get a new passport yeah and then you have to have a photo. Oh that's bad timing, yeah yeah whoa! So I was like what and um, but I did have my old photo. Oh so I just gave it to the uh, the worker at the yeah at City Hall, and she was like. Can you take your cab off? I'M like? No. I have cancer. Oh okay! Oh that's confronting yeah yeah! That'S the only time! I really did that because I was like [ __ ] it. I don't want this. This bald hair on my face yeah exactly 10 years. I don't know how often do you get trims? Well, I know this answer. You hear every four weeks because just to tame the curls, your mullet gets out of hand and yeah exactly we're not touching the top. Just let that grow in a little and then we'll meet the sides. And but we have a whole plan on growing your hair. Back yeah, so in a year you wear a bob actually down to your chin almost and then you can just grow it out from there yeah how cool yeah so cool to follow that process. Let'S round it up, thanks for this talk yeah, I think people really like it, you're being so open super cool yeah. We actually said there's a lot of people that don't talk about this and don't share their stories. It'S it's Brave nice. It helps other people and I hope you guys liked it. Let me know what you think of it down here in the comments and see you in the next show. Oh, I throw my cards away always, but I forgot today because I didn't use the questions.

jerrycmello: It's wonderful that Idske shared her story. Best wishes for continued good health and if it makes her happy, to grow her hair very long, hope she'll enjoy the process. Rene, you're a very cool haircutter and operator! Thank you!

Fragrance Enthusiast: I hope Idske is doing really well and best wishes to a fantastic lady.

Erin Karels: I remember when my mom started losing her hair due to the chemo, it was devastating for her as she grew up in the era where your hair was a symbol of her femininity. My husband shaved it for her, we were all there and I think that by us being there, encouraging her and reminding her that she was more than her hairstyle, it made it a bit easier for her. Thank you for sharing her story, I wish her happy continued health <3

Tonya Bomia: Sorry that she had to get through all of that. My Grandmother had breast cancer when I was a kid. Unfortunately, for her it came back. Hopefully, she stays cancer free and gets her long and luscious locks back. Will pray for both outcomes.

marklion: Very interesting to hear her emotions and feelings. Excellent chat between you both, in a relaxed way. Congratulations to Idske on beating cancer and I wish for continued happy good health.
