Hey girlfriends, I'm Mitch welcome back to my channel and if this is your first time here, hey girl, hey, so I'm gon na be showing y'all how to do this pen, curl updo from start to finish so without further Ado. Let'S get right into this video! So we're going to start with freshly washed here y'all now I do always shampoo and blow dry my clients during their appointment. She actually came shampooed. She wanted to shampoo her hair herself because she had a makeup appointment prior to coming to get her hair done, and that was perfectly fine with me. She didn't want to risk ruining her makeup and that's understandable, so I'm just gon na go in and I'm still gon na blow it out because, as you can see, it's been air dried, so it still has like you know, a lot of that wavy texture on It and I want to blow it out prior to going in with my straightener. I am going to do a soft press on her hair, so just one pass with the flat iron just really quick to get it Sleek for her updo look but yeah. So here I'm just blowing it out, as you guys can see, I'm gon na do that to both sections to get it as straight as possible prior to straightening. On another note, y'all, I'm so happy to be back on YouTube. Like I know I was, you know, posting a couple of videos like here. You go type videos that I wasn't really you know it wasn't really nothing for real um, but I'm excited to be back and to be posting y'all. I need to take a break. The creative juices were just not flowing, then you know a lot of y'all know that I just had a baby and I just have been wanting to spend time with him. So yeah, I'm glad to be back and for this to be my first video back um. Just something different aside from a wig and style y'all. I was wig and stalled out, so I'm gon na go ahead and I'm going to section off her bang area because she does want um a right side, bang. So I'm going to go ahead. I'M going to section that off and then I'm going to pin up her ponytail area and then I'm going to pin up this bang area prior to going in and doing the soft press. So, throughout this video her - and I are going to be talking talking talking talking to one another - um I've actually known her for a long time. I love her so much she's the sweetest person ever um, but question and let me know in the comments below are y'all like a talkative client like you know, super social and personable or do y'all come and y'all want to get your hair done. Y'All, don't want to say it. Peep y'all just want to sit there and relax and be quiet like. Let me know in the comments below, because I see a lot of people say on social media like I don't want to talk when I go get my hair done like I just want to sit there and get it done, and I just don't see that to Be true because, literally all of my clients come they get their hair done and they literally talk the whole entire time. Uh Only Exception is like when girls come and it's their first time and they kind of just trying to fill me out a little bit. But after that, we locked in, like we good to go, we're gon na talk about some things. Okay, so here I'm just going in with my mini irons, and I'm just going to do a soft press along her edges prior to going in with my bigger irons and doing larger sections of her hair, I am going to go throughout her hair and kind of Soft press pretty much most of it. There is one small section that I'm not gon na soft press just because it's going to be in the ponytail, it's still going to be sleek and I'm going to flat iron it when I curl it. So you guys will see that but yeah I'm just going in and I'm flat ironing it now and I'm just going to go through the back and I'm going to continue this process. So, on these silk braces, I just tried to be very consistent across the board on one pass and move on to the next section. The most important thing is the products you're using and the tools you're using more so than just keep going over to section three. Four five times it doesn't even matter if the hair is very thick, um, very coarse, that's irrelevant! If you use the right products and the right tools, you should be able to hit that section with one pass and move on now. Obviously I wouldn't use um as big sections that plays a part too, but yeah just keep that in mind. Y'All one pass should be more than enough foreign, so this is the section that I was talking about, that I did not flat iron, I'm going to flat iron the front part of that section, because it is going to be exposed as the front part of her Sleek ponytail, so I do want that part to be Sleek, but the hair. That'S behind that! I'M not going to flat iron because again that hair is going to be up in the ponytail and then the ends of it is they're going to be curled. So I'm just going to flat iron the ends once I curl the hair now. Obviously, this is not something that you want to do with everybody's hair. Just really honestly depends on the texture, amongst other things, so yeah. So now I have all this hair pulled up in a ponytail now this is literally just like the foundation of the ponytail, I'm going to part out sections that we're going to leave out and um I'm going to grab my Spritz and I'm going to go in And start molding this ponytail it does not have to be perfect. Initially, you see how I'm combing through and I'm getting it in position to where I want it um. That is the most important part when you're going through these ponytails, because she has so much hair. I literally have to get this out of the way section by section um, so yeah I'm just going through and I'm sleeking that up and I'm spraying it as I go. And then I'm also using my blow dryer to mold it in place and, as you can see, I'm literally combing everything up until into the hair tie that's already on there. So then, once I get this sleep and exactly how I want I'm gon na remove the hair tie and I'm going to re-secure it and make sure that everything is Sleek and in place as it should be. So here I'm just going back in with my blow dryer and the hairspray, and I am just making sure there's no flyaways. I'M making sure that all that hair that was pulled up into the ponytail is all sleek and it's flat and it's secure and yeah. I am just making sure that once I hit it with this blow, dryer like that's it y'all, this is molded in place, so just make sure you keep that in mind to not pull out the blow dryer to actually mold it in place. Until you have everything exactly how you want so I'm gon na go in and start working on, her pin curls y'all, that's my mom and my baby. She came to pick him up, she's, so excited, but anyways um. I am going to go on my flat iron. I know a lot of people don't know how to curl with flat irons, if you're bitter, using a beer a barrel um, if you're, better off using um the stove irons, whatever works for you is fine. Okay, I have not added any hair or anything whatsoever. This is just strictly her hair y'all, so I'm just going in with um some hairspray and my flat irons and I'm curling it and I'm just going to pin it in place now, I'm not pinning it in place the way that it's going to be um when I'M finished, I'm just pinning it so that the curls can cool down and that they can already be firm whenever I go in and I start kind of rearranging my curls around. So the easiest thing for me to do is just slide the curl right off the barrel spray it as it is, and then just to keep moving on to the next piece to curl this hairstyle. When you see it, it can be very intimidating, like okay. How do I do this? Like? It almost looks very tedious, but it's very repetitive, like literally all you're doing, is just curling the ponytail, letting those curl sit and then going back and just pinning them in place. However, you see fit or, however you know you think that it will look best on your clients. So that's it y'all. I know a lot of times. People you know think that it's harder than what it is which rightfully so until you see somebody else do it. So now I'm just taking those pins out and I'm separating her curls um, so that her bun is Fuller and really you just kind of Stack, the the curls on top of one another and you just pin it in place and that's pretty much it. I did. Leave a couple pieces out um so that you know she could have curls hanging um so that, even though it's more of a Sleek look, it's not like perfect and she doesn't have any curls or anything hanging so again, y'all, I'm just going in and I'm just Spreading those um curls apart and I am just rolling them in place and then pinning them where I feel like they would look the best and even if you pin it in place and then you go to set another curl and it will look better elsewhere. Just move it around y'all, it's just that simple! It'S basically your discretion. What looks the best then here I pulled one of the curls out and I just let it hang now I'm just going in, and I am going to lay her baby here and then start on her bang area. I feel like for as um classy and Sleek as this look is, is super simple. If you have any questions in the comments, um I'll try my best to answer them, but yeah y'all. I would definitely wear my hair like this. I would probably do my hair like this soon, because it's super pretty it's just. I kind of feel like this look is more so Timeless, like this is her birthday. So this is her birthday, look and um. You know you could wear this for a birthday, a baby shower a wedding whatever, because you feel like it, whatever the occasion y'all. So as I'm finishing up um, you know some finishing touches on her hair. I always ask you, know my clients, especially with like ponytail styles, any kind of bun Styles. I asked them hey. Does it feel too tight um are any of the pins, uncomfortable um or anything like that and so um. That'S what I was asking her here and she was saying no, that she didn't feel any of the pins, which is a plus because hairstyles that you can feel the pen are just the worst y'all. So um yeah, I'm just adding some finishing touches, and this is the final look y'all. I love how this turned out. I hope y'all do too um and I will see y'all in my next video God willing. I love y'all thank y'all. So much for sticking with me through my um ins and outs y'all, because you know your grill will disappear with the quickness um, but yeah I'll see y'all next time. Please don't forget to like comment and subscribe. Bye.
