It is a hair day we are going to relax our hair. We are going to um treat our hair, we're also going to color our hair with some semi color um jet black, because i like it to be like super duper, uber black. Why? Because it looks silky healthy and shiny and then we are going to do a little quick style. This is what i do in between visits. I'M sorry, but listen guys. The only reason why i'm able to do my hair the way i'm i'm able to do it is because my cut is on point when my cut grows out. I'M like a fish out of water. Okay, so do not feel um like you're alone. Like you, don't know how to curl your hair, i don't really know how to curl my hair either, but i know how to do what works for me. Okay, so i can go ahead and wave it and i'll show you guys how i wave my hair. I will actually do a step-by-step, because i get a lot of questions on instagram and um. I feel like it's time to just do a whole breakdown, something that you guys can um rewind. You guys can pause. You can guys can do along with me in between business, but first things. First, okay. I am not a hair stylist okay! I am not uh, no type of professional when it comes to anything hair related. Okay, my my place is skin. It'S not hair, but i know what to do with my hair. I know how to keep my hair healthy. I know what looks good for my hair right. I don't know how to cut hair during quarantine. I cut my hair. Why? Because i was desperate and i couldn't get to a salon, but now that i'm able to get back into a chair, i have a stylist she's right here in jacksonville florida. Her name is barbara smith i'll go ahead and add her information in the um in the bio. So you guys can have that and guys pay attention. Okay, because you know i'm lazy when it comes to putting all the information down in the bio. So i am going to show you guys exactly what i use and, of course, take your time to pause and to write it down so that you can have it too. Here'S what you're going to need you're going to need a rat tooth comb. Mine looks a little messed up, a rat tooth comb. Also, you are going to want a relaxer that works for you. I love a firm um. I do the sensitive scalp, a firm firm. There you go. Can you see it there we go. I use the sensitive scalp you can find a big box of these on amazon guys make sure when you're getting when you're getting it. It'S the conditioning, relaxer system and what i was gon na say. Oh make sure you have you some neutralizing shampoo. You do not want to relax your hair without some neutralizing shampoo. Now i do have the affirm neutralizing shampoo. It is in the other bathroom, but today i'm going to use the narobi normalizing shampoo, which is a neutralizer, and it is going to make sure that all that relaxer is out after i'm done. Relaxing my hair and uh. Let me get myself together. Actually, after i'm done, relaxing my hair - and i cleanse it a few times with the normalizing shampoo i'll - go ahead and use my detoxifying uh nairobi shampoo. There you go. I love this stuff to really make sure my hair is nice and clean and all the chemicals and everything are out of it. Then afterwards i am going to move forward with my stimucil conditioning treatment. All these things guys, you can find on amazon, i'm very lazy when it comes to going to the beauty supply store. I just simply don't want to go so what i do is i order all of my products on amazon. Okay, also, when i'm done with everything, i use my narobi wrapping foam, okay and then i also use my tissue papers um. These are the little rapid papers. I'Ve been using these same ones for years there you go okay and you also can get a big bulk of these on amazon all right. Another thing, i'm sorry, my toddler, i'm sorry! Okay, let mommy finish her video, okay, okay, okay, all right now, i also use um ion semi-permanent hair color and black is black black me black black okay, because i, like my hair to be extremely black. The reason why we're going to sit under the dryer a few times today, this is like a full-on treatment that we're doing today. The reason why we're sitting on the dryer is because one we need to make sure that the conditioning treatment is really like seeping into our skin. And while i use that i'll also put some some avocado oil, some hip seed oil and a little bit of neem oil and i'll just sit under the dryer and with a bag over my head and literally watch a show or something and just let it sit In there for about like 20 minutes right, because i'm using so many chemicals and things that i just want to make sure, i still maintain healthy hair, okay, we're not about burning out our hair or over processing our hair. So that's the reason why we don't want to put our relaxers in too close together and we don't want to put chemicals on top of chemicals on top of chemicals because um, obviously that's a little bit too much for our hair and our skin. So this right here is a semi-permanent um. I can actually use it the same day um as my relaxer and it will not damage my hair. We'Ve been doing this for years. Your good sis um knows what works for her okay. So then, we're going to grab our gloves because while we don't want chemicals underneath our nails, we don't want to transfer it to our skin. We want to make sure that we are doing things the correct way and plus it calls for some gloves. You need to have like a straight shooter type cone. What i mean by that is. I have a comb that i'll comb through my relaxer with right, but i won't style my hair with the same comb. I wash it every single time, but i still have like this phobia of not using it for like regular styling. So while we are uh relaxing our hair, we do not use our styling comb. We are using our i'm gon na call. It processing comb to make sure that we get the relaxer all up and through it, okay. So first i like to, i don't have a lot of hair right. The cut like i said the cut is great. My hair is still uh pretty straight from last night because i actually molded my hair down and got myself together for a girls night. So it's actually not that bad right now, but truthfully once i wash it and everything you'll see all the new girls come through and uh. That is what we are relaxing for. So i like to start like this i like to. I don't part it in for actually i part it in like little sections just a few. It'S really not that necessary. I'M just used to doing my hair a certain way, okay, because the back is so short that it's not much to part all right and another thing i do my edges go last. Sometimes i don't even relax my edges. Why? Because my hair is not um extremely thick to begin with, and your good sis is gon na need her edges in the long run. Okay. So what i'll do is i'll put a little vaseline a wee bit around my perimeter, just a little vaseline. I don't. I don't they call it baby hair, i just say the shorter here around my perimeter. I don't relax that i don't. All of this does not get a relaxer. I just i just don't want to do that to each his own. What you do to preserve your edges is your business. I put it on my back of my neck and then i'll proceed everywhere else, i'm good to go. Okay, when you have your affirm, relaxer there it goes. You are also going to get a liquid activator come on light. There you go and you're going to get this little container. This little container is going to help you to measure out how much liquid activator you're going to need for your relaxer. So in the back of it it says resistant, normal and mild. Okay, so resistant is, if you have a more coarse texture, it's been a while, since you had your relaxers, you need a little bit more um in your relaxer. Normal is if it's not really coarse, but it's not fine, um and you're gon na need to process it, but it's not gon na be as much as um as much as resistant. Now me i do mild. I always do mild, because my hair texture requires that. I don't want to do too much. I never want to over process my hair, regardless, if i get it cut off or not like, i just. I want to be short by choice so to keep it that way. I always do mild in the back of my mouth, okay and then, like i told you, we have a straight shooter comb that we have, but we also have this stick that they give you you can order. Some more of these sticks on amazon, too. I'Ve ordered a few of them, and then i just mix this together i'll show you guys after i'm done mixing, and you want to really make sure all of that activator is all up and through this relaxer you don't want it to be um liquefied at the Top and then creamy at the bottom, you want the whole thing to be just creamy so make sure the activator is all in through the relaxer to activate it. So i'm just gon na mix. This take your time guys, there's no rush. If you're in a rush. Don'T do this because this is a process. I know a lot of people are like well, i can't do that and i'm not going to do all of that. That'S your businesses, i'm going to do this because i actually have some place to go and i don't want to sit in the salon for this, so i prefer to do it at home. Where i'm comfortable, i can fold clothes. I can do other stuff, as i spend all those hours in a salon so to each his own wherever you want to do with your time. Is your business, but i prefer to do it at home and then just go to the salon for like maintenance. As far as like um getting my hair cut, because i'm just not a salon type girl like i don't want to sit there all day: okay boom, it's nice and creamy baby, i'm trying to do my video mama, sorry, y'all. Okay with our processing comb, i'm gon na start for the back. Also guys, i'm going to tell you guys make sure you have like a little mirror, so you can guide yourself. You want to see what you're doing so. I like to the mirror is right behind me and i use my little mirror to guide me, so i can see what i'm doing now i'll comb it all up like this. Just so, i can see what i'm doing the back of it. Obviously, it's no point of parting. It there's nothing to part, because it's really really really short. Hence the reason why i need a relaxer back there, so it can lay a little bit better and not curl up okay, so i'm just applying a a small layer of thin layer in my bag, okay, so on the back. Obviously, the hair is not long at all um, it's not even an inch back there. So what i do is, i just lay the relaxer on there right. That'S the first place. I start. I lay it on there. I let that start first and then i work my my way up now when i'm working my way up um, although my hair is not long, i try to avoid the ends a little bit kind of sorta, not really um, but that is the goal to just Give myself a touch up because obviously the um, the hair, the longer hair, has already been relaxed. Previous weeks right, even though we had most of it cut off this little part is still relaxed. It'S just right here at the root that is not relaxed anymore, because it's fresh hair. So that's what we really want to focus on and then we're going to use our comb to comb through and to make sure those areas are really straight. Also, like i said before, i'm going to avoid these fine areas. I do not relax this, that's the reason i put some vaseline there. This is not me pulling out baby hair, guys. Okay, i don't have baby hair, but i pull that stuff out because that's not something i want to relax, because the hair is already fine and i'm trying to protect that for the future me okay, so i'm gon na go ahead and finish this and then i'll Show you guys once i get towards the front, so you guys can see a little bit more all right guys. Now, i'm working my way towards the front. As you can see, my hair is not long, but i'm keeping my ends a little bit away from the relaxer. Why? Because i said those parts those parts are already um relaxed prior to so i literally, i just worry about the new growth, that's normally, which, if you've already been getting relaxers. What you're relaxing is the new girls? Okay, you don't want to over process your hair. I think that's where a lot of people um make the mistake and then they're wondering why the hair is always dry. It'S not retaining moisture, it's looking crazy, it looks brittle and thankfully i get compliments all the time like well. You know why is your hair so healthy, or how do you keep your hair healthy and you work out, and all this other stuff is that the goal is not to over process. Nor is it to constantly put heat in my hair, although my hair is short and although i would love for my hair to just be done all the time uh with my workout regimen um in my routine. That'S just not going to be the case, and i've learned to accept that. So what i do is i learn how to do a meme mode. Okay, i might sit on the dryer, sometimes, which is rarely like today, i'm gon na sit under dryer, but normally no, i'm not gon na sit under the dryer i'll. Let it air dry, meaning i'll mold it down i'll wrap it with my tissue paper and then i'll move forward i'll move forward, and i will um wear my scarf if i don't have somewhere to go immediately and i'll, just literally wear that around the house. Until my hair completely dries, i'm okay with a little bit of wave, i'm actually perfectly fine with a little bit of weight, you put a little bit of oil on it. You comb it through a little bit, so it's not like crunchy or flat looking and then you keep it moving. Sometimes it's not that serious and it still looks really cute um but yeah. You do what works for you and that's what seems to work for me. So that's what i do so that i don't have to sit under dryer and put heat on my hair every day to try to keep up curls and that's another thing guys. I forfeited having like curls i'm past that stage now, because when i first had short hair, which i've had short hair for over 11 years now, when i first had short hair, i used to always wanted to stay curled and all this other stuff. I don't care about a curl i'll. Do a cute little wave um! I just want it to be manageable, like i don't need all the extra stuff. Oh yeah also have a towel guys, a towel that you're willing to throw away um any type of things that drop. You want to make sure you get it also, if you feel tingles, listen, protect your scalp, protect your skin, protect your hair. If you start to burn get it out of your hair, i don't care if you feel like it hasn't, sat there long enough. It is just not worth walking around with a bald spot. Okay, so i am about to comb this through meaning very carefully. You see, i leave that area, because that area is already fine and i need that for the future i'll leave that area. So when i say comb through, i mean something like that. I really focus on the back and when i say comb i mean push it through with this. We'Ll lay it down with that. Like this remember this hair back here is fresh here i mean it has been cut closely to the scalp, so none of the relaxed part is on there anymore, so i'll just go ahead and brush that through okay, guys, i'm gon na let this sit for just Like five minutes or so, and then i'm gon na go ahead and wash it out i'll be back all right. Her hair is super straight um. I just did four washes. I did three normalizing rashes, which is with my neutralizing shampoo. I did one with my detoxifying shampoo and now it is time to deep condition, our hair okay. So once again, i'm going to use my conditioning treatment. This is really good for processed hair for chemically treated hair for color for dry hair. I love it because it has like this little tingling sensation. It smells pretty good as well, and i overuse my conditioner okay. I rather use enough than not enough, and then this one right here, we just keep it on for like five minutes, the directions say with a cap and a warm dryer okay. So i do that and then i also like i told you guys before i have my oils that i mix together. Where are they? Okay? I mix my oils together and this is just hemp seed avocado with a little bit of neem oil - and i just put this all up and through here and i'll, massage it and then we're going to put our plastic cap on it and sit under dryer. For just five minutes make sure the dryer is warm okay, so we washed we conditioned our hair. I just got done rinsing out the conditioner, and now i'm about to go ahead and put my semi-permanent in my hair and then sit under the dryer once more. For like 20 minutes this time and then i'll go forward with the um styling of my hair, okay, it's probably best that you put some gloves on, but i don't feel like putting them back on so there we go and i'm literally putting this all over. My hair, i'm trying not to be so sloppy because i don't want this all over my walls. Nor do i want it on the floor. As you can see, i have no method to this, i'm literally just putting it in my hair and i'm just gon na comb it through uh all right. So i have the semi-permanent all over my head. I have my bag on i'm about to go sit under the dryer for about 20-25 minutes and i'll be back okay. So after you put your foaming moves on, you just want to make sure you comb it down right. You want to make sure you comb your hair in the direction in which you like your hair, to lay so let me take this off, so you guys can see all right so the back i like it to be molded down just like this, then the sides Just like this, it's it's just easier for me when i do it like this, because i literally wear the same hairstyle because, like i told you guys before i have like literally one hairstyle, i do that works for me and that's all you have to do is Find one hairstyle: you leave all the hard stuff to your stylist okay, so i normally do my hair on this side, but me trying to mold it for you guys. It has me a little messed up. Okay, so my hair is normally molded. This way, i don't know why it is trying to go the other way. Okay, you see how i'm bringing this forward i'm bringing this forward and i'm making sure it just lays i'm not worried about how i mow this. I'M just keeping it straight down. I'M not worried about making it fancy or anything. Okay, once you move it all the way down like this, we can start okay, so now, depending on which way you, like your hair, i like mine to my right. So this is how i push everything forward and then look. I don't worry about some waving anything else. I just make sure the front of my hair is really pretty in the back of it as long as it's laid down, it'll just work i'll show you guys, because i don't even think i'm gon na curl my hair today. There'S no point see you just kind of. I don't even know how to describe this and just practice. Guys don't be hard on yourself, because i don't even know how to wave. I just know how to do this a little bit and then once i do that part, i just keep going to make it even more dramatic to see if i can get it better. Each time i get a little bit better now the hair rinse is going to be all over my face, but that's okay literally that's it and then i'm going to take a wipe. Take your wraps! Don'T do it too tight, because you don't want to mess up your waist so be kind of gentle with it. It'S like barely touching the front which is okay, you're gon na be under the dryer, and you want to make sure it completely dries. This is the part that i hate the most. I don't really like sitting under the dryer for a long period of time, but because my hair is cut shorter and because it's relaxed, i won't have to be under there for longer than like 30 minutes and i'm going to show you guys the back as well. That'S how almost how i wrap this. I actually want to put another one here, because i want. I don't want this to flip up. I want it to lay make sure you buy a lot of these because you will go through and then this one can be a little bit tighter. This one can be tighter, then you can sit under dry you'll, be good to go alright, so my hair is completely dry um. This label is all jacked up, because i have this in a shower with me, but this is the seat and harvest calendula oil, and i put it on my body, but i also put it in my hair because it is full of antioxidants. It is full of omegas and it gives my hair an immediate shine and i love the texture of the oil. The consistency of it is like really really good on my hair, so i literally just put that all over my hair and then i'll go in and i'll curl certain pieces, not my whole entire head i'll show you guys how it came out, not my whole entire Head, you see, i keep it very straight and flat, but i'll go in and curl some pieces all right. I have my ceramic flat irons by red and i think these are like one and a half inches. I believe it's not my smallest one. So i think this is one and a half inches and this comb is wet. So i'm not going to use the front of the comb, but i am going to use the rat tooth portion of the comb. What is it my hair? But first i'm going to use this one just to break it up some. You know i don't want my hair to look like i just got from under the dryer, so i want to break it up soften it up a little bit loosen up the hair i'll. Go back in and take some of this um rinse off of my face, but we're not worried about that right now. I still have some oil on my hair. I mean on my hands, so i'm going ahead and press that in all right, first order of business. I want to start from back here and just a small piece and i want to curl it under and i was taught to press it press it down, and you see that i'm just lifting with the rat tooth comb and pressing down you don't have to be Like super neat with this part, you literally just want to add some dimension back into your hair, so it doesn't look like your hair is just firstly molded, because that's exactly what it is, so you want to lift this part and press flip. This part and press we're pressing, so it doesn't look like a granny curl. You know those ones. That'S like way too tight. You see we'll come back here and go in that same direction. Press right here again that same direction. Press loosen that up some this right here, i always curl it backwards a little bit and then push it forward. This part right here always push it that way, we'll curl it this way and you'll see why, at the end now for the rest of my hair, i have no rhyme or reason okay, so i literally protect the mold that i did in the front and then The back i'll show you guys where i just go through, and i just curl a little bit curl it with a little bit will bump a little bit because it's literally too short to do it right here. I just want to soften the look. Okay, i'm going to show you guys a few more before i cut this off and just finish curling, because it's actually hard for me to do it in the camera i'm so used to looking in the mirror press and i'm doing it at a slant kind of Diagonal, like press, remember guys, i'm no stylist, so listen! I do what i can and i leave what i can't meaning i'm not about to burn my scalp trying to put curls all up and through my hair, okay, it's just not gon na happen. I make sure all this is together. I make sure the mold is great and then i just comb out the rest and leave a soft look. Okay, i don't go into detail with waving, because i can't i'm not a hairstylist. Nor will i try to be okay. I just know how to get my hair back together to my liking, so that when i decide to go out um, my hair is together and i don't have to stress out about trying to get a hair appointment only to sweat it back out in the gym. So, like i said before guys, i go get my hair professionally cut here in jacksonville florida by a stylist named barbara smith, i'll put her information down at the bottom and um in between because she cuts it so well, i'm able to mold my hair, i'm able To relax my hair, i'm able to color my hair with you know, of course, in my permanent and i'm able to curl back what i can and look decent until i go get it done again, so i hope this was very helpful for you guys. I hope that you guys are not stressed out about how to style. Your pixie is really not that big of a deal guys. What you're going to need is a hooded, dryer you're going to need some foaming mousse, most likely if you're trying to get a sleek. Look, it will take a relaxer if you don't know how to process your own hair. I advise you to go to a stylist, a professional who knows how to do it. Okay, this is just what works for me and i hope you enjoyed this video and, of course, i'm gon na tie it down and i'm about to go about my day see you later

IrieMo721: I love your “it dont have to be perfect”approach. I don’t know how to curl either, so I’m trying to figure out what my one hairstyle is that I can do myself because right now I’m too dependent on my hair stylist. Hoping to get to the point where I can do my hair and be cute. You do such a good job with yours!

IrieMo721: Imma have to try this curl and press method. This was soooo helpful! I’m hoping to get to this level soon.

Monique B.: Sky, because of seeing your IG page, I decided to cut my hair. By unfortunately, I’m still having issues curling it. But, thank you for the curl and press down technique!

Sonia Rena: Hey, Im new to your channel. You do a real good job styling your hair. Who ever cuts your hair does a good job as well, a good cut is over half the battle!!! LOL

Nicole Wiles: Super cute..So I won’t be scared I use the neutralizing shampoo just use it on your comb to clean it all out. As a cosmetologist we use the relaxer brush , or you can you the opposite side of the comb and your hands to smooth it out. Not necessarily comb it, to avoid overlapping you can also protect your ends , as you did your edges to minimize that .

Simple Me: I love when people are truthful and will help you when they can..This helped alot

Robin Ford: Love your hair & I had been burning my poor head up trying to curl all around lol. This helps

CC§Gemini: Beautiful results. Use the same Nairobi foam and wrap strips and they are great. Question, how long does the Ion color last?

Laronda Henry: How often do you have to get your cut refreshed and how often do you relax?

Janise Jefferson: I just cut mine & im still learning. But with working out & trying to keep up with it in between visit I truly be over it. I'm no stylist and can barely flat iron, like all of this is new

Aminah: Looks beautiful

Phoebe Wilson: Omg it's so beautiful and helpful and how long does it stay straight?

Simone A: Thank you so much for this !

So Posh: Love it

Essa Obafueko: Hi!! What are good alternatives for the wrapping stripes? I live in Italy and they don’t have those in the beauty supplies store and they cost 20€ on Amazon too

Lisette Janaé: Thank you for sharing, I see we use the same products. I need to try that oil as I Love all the oils mentioned in it. Have a great day

TweetK: How often do you relax your hair?!

melanin created: What temperature is the irons set on?

Just Akeya! : How often do you relax your hair?

Dee Nicole: What do you use to keep your hair soft and manageable daily ?

Keasha Smith: Beautiful

Maya Me’Shonn / Embracing Life in Your 40’s: Yasssss to the Affirm Relaxer!! Works great on my hair

carmenhawk79: Thanks for the video. What is the name of the oil that provided the shine at the end?

M L: After you put the color in and sit under the dryer do you shampoo and condition it out? Or are you just rinsing the color out with water?

Katrina Harvey: Beautiful

Latasha Moody: Love the hair my hair is short also

Razel Candy: I never use neutralizing shampoo so far so good I just rinse and wash really good

Linda Moo Yin: Love it but don't you use the brush to apply? That's what I use. I only use the comb to comb it in.

Yanni: Wow really nice finish

J-Dupree: You're Gorgeous!

Ms_Smart_Ass2018: Cute

AfiaSA: Awesome info, please how do you cover it up to bed?

Wonderful: Very nice

Lisette Janaé: Good morning my Pixie sis. Let me go watch
