Alright guys welcome back to the legal gentleman youtube channel. Today, we've got ben in the chair. How are you mate, yeah you're, very good, welcome, good. So what we're doing today? What'S the plan um, the idea is: take it all off the sides - okay, nice and tight, and then leave a bit of length on top okay. I'Ve got some pictures to show you yeah yeah. Let'S have a look yeah, let's see, let's see what you've got uh. This is the this is the aim. Okay, i'm very aware that i've got very different hair compared to some of these. Okay, that's a lot, but that's the sort of length on top okay and those sort of tight sides, so a skin fade on the sides: yeah yeah, okay. So that's this! I'Ve had made before yeah and something that's sort of achievable, with my style of hair, really, okay, that kind of shape, though yeah yeah, all right, cool yeah, it's a little bit now, just on that image there right. That is obviously a model image, so his hair is not going to stay there other than for that split. Second, on the camera. Just so you know something all right: yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah exactly, but that kind of shape i mean the thing is they're all a little bit different, though right and technically different right. So yours, before it's quite side, parted over to one side right and it's very high on the sides, now go back to the other guy, a second that we've just been on. That'S more like a pompadour. So, as you can see, that's longer in the middle and everything's coming back, so that would be cut into a pump. So it's shorter get up on the side and then come in a lot of height at the front and then come on back right. What would you prefer more of? Do you want to wear it more to the side like i know, you've got that one there as well. I'Ve noticed you've got that one you've got that one there as well, that one there's a part and again probably more to the side more to the side. Okay comes um more like that guy there so more like that. Yeah yeah, okay yeah, because that would that would be cut differently. You see because it wouldn't be cut like a pump. Okay, um, all right yeah! We can do something with that and your hair. Can i just see your hair again before it was long? Okay? Yes, so there isn't much curl in there really is there's not as curly as it is today, yeah, so that that was with a hairdryer, okay brush, but it blowed, but you could blow dry it out. Yeah, okay, cool man. How long ago was that uh? That was about three years ago. Okay, all right, okay, here may have changed in that time. Just so you know um so, but we'll do we'll do what we can definitely do what we can yeah. Let'S have a look blow dry that out yeah. I could blow dry that out cool man. All right well easy enough there and we know what we're doing so. Let'S get you gowned up and we'll get. You started all right right guys, so i'm gon na start by putting ben's here into a horseshoe section. I was thinking about starting on the top, but i actually think the shape i'm going to try and create. I really need to leave the top to the very end to work out the fades going in. So i think i'm going to start by doing a horseshoe. First, let's get the back and sides done: let's get the to get the length we want to go to and then we can start to really build up that weight and that length through the top as well so working it from the recession, i'm going to drop It down a bit as well at the back, because we need to leave some length in there. I'M going to bring it round i'll match to the other side as well. Just bear with me back. It'S going to be on your face for a minute, but just bear with me sure you've been used to that for a while. Now right, yeah, as you can see, i'm not drenching the hair or nothing, i'm just going to be working, my clippers. So i want to keep it nice and dry anyway, but just enough just wet enough, so that we can just section it off really. So it's a tiny bit damp on top! That'S about it, really i'm keeping in mind through the top through there right. So, just ah the session points like so and then dropping it down to the crown at the back. There we go, you do realize your mates are gon na screenshot. All of this right, don't you you know, oh dear there we go, i'm not too sure how many people outside the uk will know. What croft is. You know it's a very british thing. Isn'T it you know it's a very, very, very vicious joke, though there we go crust for anyone watching is the dog competition there we go right ready for this yeah. Is everyone ready for this, because i'm ready for this right? Okay, what i'm gon na do is. I'M gon na start off by just bulk, removing um the length on the back and sides. Okay, so just put a clipper over comb, one of the most satisfying things any barber or hairdresser. You can do you ready for this yeah yeah. Definitely, what i'm doing is just removing bulk, like that: okay, not going too high, because obviously we're going to be waking up into that top, i'm just removing all the length put it back inside. So i can get my clippers through it properly on my guards, especially i had to move that because i literally went flying on that thing. I don't think the camera saw me nearly fall over then. Did it uh there? We go health and safety in the way of places you see ben top priority. Let'S start with our skin fade, so start with my number two. As always, but don't forget, this is very important that we look at ben's face, shape now. Okay, because, obviously all the lenses come off now go down to the skin fade, but let's have a little look where we need to start building weight. So let's have a look at his face shoot now. So as you see him before, the game was on. You look like you, go the gym mate, you look like you're, pretty you know there we go. No, there we go so we want to make sure he clearly looks at him. So i want to make sure everything else balances right in and makes him look as best. He can right. That'S the source of shape. We need to be working off, you see, cheekbones come come out quite a bit there and then you can concave. So it's slightly diamond desk face shaped eyes. We want to make that stand out even more, so that's perfect what we're trying to achieve actually bringing that weight out by the way mine needs to come out. It'S perfect because then that way i can get away with more length on top, so i'll be ideal, so starting off with r2. So i'm going to start from the back through here the star number two two in i'm leaving some of that length towards the crown. Like sorry now i'm doing the tool leaf from the bottom, because obviously there's so much length there. I just want to remove it. Also it's much cleaner fade, it's great for me to fade it as well. Don'T forget we're looking to build up that weight to the top as well, so we're not taking the two too high we're going gon na use this be here to start to build that shape up into the transition on the top. So on my zero line now i'll put that in as well when i'm here, while the guard's off, don't forget i'm getting it to this length here, because i want to sharpen off the the hairline around the temple, but also we've got to keep weight through. Here. We'Ve got to keep this angle here, so we can't be going too high with the zero. What we will do is that will stretch the blend out. I always think that gives the best finish and we can get really so i want to do that. I want to stretch that blend down for him and just show off that kind of high and tightness of what we're trying to achieve, but obviously still working within the look we're trying to achieve on top as well so working this down drop it down at the Back like so again, one of the reasons why i'm dropping it down at the back lower is because we're keeping a lot of fringe, and i don't want it to be all just very front heavy. I want the back to have some shape, as well as one the profile. Everything just seems to fit into place as well. If we went too high at the back, we'd just be load the front and it wouldn't really work install this in like so. That'S all about the angle of the comb right so about look. How far over my teeth are see both you're gon na go flat and remove all that angle. The teeth over you keep more length up there, it's as simple as just the angle of the teeth but like. If you were going to shave it right up, you bring it further, as you go higher same idea with the cone steps. I'M gon na move on to our trimmers now, okay, so let's put the detail into this temple as well, show off the fade a bit more, not going too far into the hairline, though just enough to strengthen it, but also give a bit more detail and now, We'Ll move on to our trimmers as well how's, this feeling so far man, i'm not calling her. I can imagine i can imagine how long have you grown it for um wow? Have you told anyone about this by the way that you're getting your hair cut like this or uh? Not many people? No, you know everyone's gon na walk straight past you, when you see you know you do realize that no one's gon na recognize you nice. We'Ll start with blend this out, we're straight into the half, just turn the head over and stretch this blend out now as well, okay made by guard skipping. We got a really nice finish on this, a lot more uh severe as well down the bottom. That'S what we want, but we're gon na make sure we maintain that weight at the top and a half now just to fine tune down to the one right now, which way would you prefer to wear your hair now it does seem to go better that way, But you get more height going that way, which which way would you prefer, because your hair doesn't it can go either way ready for this kind of style? So what would you like? Uh, i'd probably go from more height, more height yeah, so bring it more over to one side that way: yeah. Okay, okay, take a section from the back just before the crown, which is here just on the right hand, side just there. It doesn't matter too much to do because we're going to have a better texture in there and so that'll be able to fall either way, but always prevention over cure take the crown out of the way. Okay. So i'm picking the link in the back. That'S going to wait for the front. I don't need all that length at the back, because that's not how the style works, it's more brushed over the front and then having some texture through the back. That'S what's going to work better, so we're going to start to pull this back and over directly, so we've got quite a bit of length in the front as you can see, i'm pulling that back a section like so starting to maintain more length. Let me pull this bit back now: two sections just keep more length and more length and take the fringe right back to the middle. I'M gon na do bring this down and connect the horizontally to the bottom to keep maintaining that weight in there. This is to the point of where we were starting our clipper work blending as well good point got into this corner want to build that weight at the front as well, i'm using the fringe, i'm pulling everything over this way. So this length here is from the middle. This is not the fringe, so remove all this length that we don't need right now we can layer that in in a second we don't need all this length yet connecting that crown, you see, i'm keeping that fringe in play point cut into this corner here, i'm Just starting to isolate the front now, so we know exactly where the fringe is, where we're meant to be cutting it to again, it's quite important part of the haircut. Now we bring this down, we just pick the length that's going to work really, so you probably just passed past. The eyebrows, i would say, is a good length now, which ones are here be quite nice. It'S unlike in my haircut, we're keeping the fringe disconnected because we need that more length in there no way of of making that fringe stay up otherwise with if we connect him down horizontally to connect the fringing and we found the length a little point there. So what we do is we over direct to start with to preserve the length, and then we manually sort of connect it as what we see visually, i'm just going to bring this back to a session. Just so, we've got a bit more connection there and same on this side as well like so now we're back onto the crown you see. A lot of length is still there goes over this way, so we're going to work on this side. First, i'm going to start the cutting to match to the guide underneath and now i'm going to cut into the thicker part now as well, i'm going to break them off this one. That looks very nice like that man a little bit of bend in the fringe. It'S really good, i think, come on open backs up quite nice, for you actually yeah into the side. It might just fall. So i think just kind of going with that. Like that, maybe like the picture you showed me where it's like a pump, i haven't cut it into a pompadour, but it's kind of you know it's like you could start over to one side if you want to. I just think it's nicer with it coming up and back. I think you get a really nice wave in it and stuff. So just one option. You know, i think it's a good option now, just working around to this side now, just trying to perfect that blend make sure everything looks nice make sure everything's balanced falling into the right place, i'm doing quite a lot of like a bit of thinning out as Well, just a little bit that i feel a little bit heavy um, but again just doing it more from what i can see and what i can kind of feel coming through the comb as well switch onto a smaller comb now just to fine tune that one Into the two yeah, i think something like that be quite nice man. It works! Well, you just point into the blender a little bit more and then start out for you just to soften it a bit more. There we go now, i'm just going to blast it off with a bit of coal there and then i'll start off swimming how's. It looking right to style this, i'm going to use some styling powder. Okay, i think it's the best one for your hair texture, because it is a little bit finer and if we put clays on so, i think it'll just bind it together and weigh it down. Sprinkle some over okay, oh yeah, bring it over to one side a bit like, so you got that kind of slightly over to one side. What'S quite nice as well see that front just using just to brush it through. I have a little bit more fullness in there as well, and that is version of what you showed me mate. As best i could yeah that's good thanks man. Thank you, buddy! That'S! Basically, based on all the pictures you showed me, that's the that's the outcome that i got yeah from what you showed me so kind of still slightly pompadour still over to one side, slightly loads of texture in there and then down to skin on the back and Sides as well looks nice man that shape coming out on the side as well really fits into your face sheet too, as well happier yeah thanks man. Thank you mate. Thank you. You

Unity- X Fitness: You can see the genuine love care time and dedication that both Dan and Richard both have for cutting hair, huge huge inspiration for any barber who wants to gain new skills

Kevin A: I have no interest in cutting hair myself but these videos are honestly the most satisfying videos on YouTube I could honestly watch hours of this channel

Lee Brown: Great cut Dan! I do think your customer was in a state of shock that his long hair was gone. He looked great but a big change for him.

Peter Sprinz: Another excellent model look from you Dave! You always come through for your client. Your passion is so strong and you are so kind to teach so many of us. Thank you.

Colonel Kurtz: I think he was having seconds thoughts about cutting all that hair off, but that cut really suits him and makes him look more handsome dare I say? Usually I hate to see so much hair go but he had the model vibes afterwards imo at least. Amazing skill as per usual by Dan the man!

Ciclopea2: What an improvement, love the styling, elegant with an edge

jordanjames: As always a great style and cut. He was looking good before but after he was looking HANDSOME. Great job Dan.

SephoraBelle: The young man getting his hair cut is handsome, so the haircut enhances his good bone structure.... the hair stylist is a true artist who takes pride in this work, beautiful haircut.

Giovani Rafael: i think he looks really nice with this hair style, it really matched his face shape. Dan you are incredible at what you do!

Ike Myung: Dan always does a great job of finding and giving the client what they want. That doesn't change my deep HATE for these damn skin fades!

PP Gedez: I’ve got hair down to my shoulders also and i was having heart palpitations during this one and strangely my ears were burning, having said that the new style looks fking awesome on him doesn’t it. Brave move but it works.

Tarek: such an amazing transformation!!

Stallion The Plumber: It's intriguing to see people who's so dedicated in their profession

jonby bacus: Nice haircut again Dan! everytime Im watching at ur videos, im getting inspired to cut my cousins hair and brothers hair since pandemic, and as a result my brothers dont go at the barbershop anymore, bcoz they love how I cut their hair. thanks for ur videos, as always I learned from it. Greetings from Philippines

William Fleming: Dan's eyes lit up when he said short back and sides...skin fade. It definitely is one of the most satisfying things to do.

Blayne: The style perfectly suited the client. Awesome job!

rosebankross: I would kill to have hair as great as this -before and after! Great work as usual Dan.

45filo: u can see the passion! keep it up!

Dan Shepherd: You put a lot of effort to make sure your client is happy and you do the best job. As always a great job. He looks great a much better look for sure.

olgoat lady: I love long hair on a man but I must say he looks younger and more handsome Well done Dan you are a master at your trade!! Love how you explain everything you're doing

Scott Cameron-Baker: I don't know why I watched this cause I'm trying to grow my hair out, I'm actually aiming for his before but with that being said great hair cut, I think it suits him more than longer hair, good job to the guy that cut it fair play to him

SlaM: Been a barber for 16 years now and I got to say this cut came out nice

Diane Feinstein: Ben really looks like the late Australian actor Heath Ledger with his hair long and short after the trim. Uncanny resemblance, but Heath, the great actor passed in 2008, at age 28, when I was only 8 yr old. Now, as a young woman, I see Heath’s films again and realize how hot he looked and I see Ben in the same way. Heath was a physically fit man, with decent eyes…like you can depend on him. This is what a woman looks for and I see Ben has it too. Much love to your program from Canada. -Diane, Vancouver, Canada. SaSE10/22. 12:48 pm

robert nolastname: as much as i hate a fade cut, this man looks 100 times better than before. he has a great face shape, and the results just show what a different hair style can do for you !!!

F. Nasierkhan: I'm growing my hair out. I recently got it trimmed to take off some bleached parts but it's still long enough that it just about goes past my ears. I'm the type that gives my face a clean shave everyday, especially since my facial hair grows so fast. I know this question might come across as dumb but I really am new to all this. Whenever I'm shaving my face, my head hair sometimes gets in the way and my razor will snag a strand or two. I do my best to tuck it behind my ears but the front part still hangs down, and it'll do it's best to creep back out from behind my ears. I'm sort of OCD about my hair since I'm growing it out. And I worry and whine over every little accident I make even over one strand. So any tips on this will be appreciated. Thanks!

Tom Mitchener: I'm in awe at the shears you use I've never used a pair that is over 8in.

Radu: Both styles are ok. His hair was dry with split ends and needed some shortening, now he can grow it a bit and condition more to keep more hydrated

Nicky Wong: He looked so good after the haircut

onelifelived: It's a brilliant cut, but bro is holding back tears.

Craig Wall: I always look forward tonRegal Gentleman's upload on a Sunday. I think the transformation from a 3 years growth to the end result is fantastic. Great Job ..

Jaga Kuna: Hey Dan, solid work, been a fan of your videos. Id like to get a haircut similar to yours, what should i tell the barber? pls advise.

Sarah Lyon: I think he's in shock but it does look better after the cut. He lost a lot of length and his hair is quite fine so it must seem drastic at first but he is a very handsome guy and now his face is the focal point.

Orrong 5: He looks brighter and happier and years younger, well done!

Seniorsalsa: My guy went from Carrot Top to Top Model. Amazing cut!

Jog_on_Jon: I think, there's literally very few people that actually look better with long hair. This guy went from looking like a uni student eating noodles everyday to model potential! Love it !

Theresa M: WOWWWWWW this guy is so good looking!! Such a perfect haircut for his face structure ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Duncan Worman: Looks brilliant as always gents

solitaire smith: This haircut is perfect for this guy. Very nice

Susan Stein: I'm American and I do know what Crufts is but I didn't understand your pronunciation until you said dog competition. You did a great job of doing what your wanted and changing it a little to suit his hair and face shape. I imagine with the unusual hot weather in the UK a lot of men are getting their hair cut.

Tina O'Day: His hair looks great!!

Carole Bell: Fantastic transformation such a fab cut makes him look much younger and trendy

kissmisskittie: His wavy hair definitely looks SO MUCH better with short hair! He looks sexy now.

J Huntoon: Wow, so much better than the curly bushy mess he had, he looks handsome clean and sharp!, well done

Cookie Shivers: Since the barber (hair stylist) declared he know what hairstyle this client wants - it's gotta be nerve racking to hear the barber chattering so much. JUST DO IT!

Louise Taylor: I wish my hairdresser looked like him

Mikey: Dude went from “study buddy” to “ Studly, buddy” The cut suits his face perfectly. Well done

🍊fruit: And now he started to grow his hair long again.... Should had just gotten a medium curly haircut.

Johnny Toppside: Hey bud, would you mind possibly doing a video on the character "Soldier Boy" from "The Boys"? It's a very popular style, and would love to see a video by you explaining the ins and outs. Much love, thanks for the vids my man!

Hugo Ingelhammar: Great cut! Next time Im gonna try this blending technique with the scissors to blend the sides into the top!

Michael Hayes: he looks like he is regretting it

Eclectic A D Dee: OMG! Changing genders is but a haircut away! Great job!

Vice: I think Ben made a HUGE mistake by letting his long hair go. Big mistake! He looks good with long hair. All he needed was a trim to get rid of split ends. Such a shame!

Robert Murch: Quite the transformation!

Jake Lesser: His haircut was disguising his mildly receding hairline well. I think that's why he was so quiet and stiff. He looked in the mirror and saw the Norwood reaper looking back at him.

bootsy chootsy: I can tell he doesn't love it but it's a killer cut once again

Jennifer Boudreau: The cut turned him from a 7 to a 12 on a scale of 1-10. Blew it out of the park.

Davin: He just needs to style it his own way. There's a fine line between your hair looking natural and your hair looking like a hat, for some people.

Mauro Sanchez: This was an amazing transformation! 100% better style

Sonny: Mate your hair always looks fresh I wondered what shampoo/conditioner you use? We have a similar hair type and length. Much appreciated

barry maple: For me personally not a fan but if thats what he wanted he got it. Not a low skin fade fan either soz. The consultation is always essential. id have pushed him more towards longer back an sides but its only hair an will grow out quick.

bunky9t1: You didn't even check the back part of his hair to blend to side which you checked with his high cheek bones. A typical mistake MOST if not ALL barbers/hairstylist do before prepping for a cut. They focus on side bones completely forgetting on the occipital bone which is equally as attractive to complement.

Ed: The only trouble with this hairstyle is it's never too flattering on a person with a high hairline.

willieboy: Perfect Transformation!

N K: A big improvement! He looked more handsome now.

Regal Gentleman: 11 days until the start of something HUGE! 15th September

D L.GrayII: Great cut! Love how you use your sheers.

Steven Vakkali Tham: WOW... What a beautiful transformation! Ben looked like Prince Adam of the Beast before and now he looks like Aquaman

Leo Bolt: This guy had an awesome vibe and looks from Heath Ledger in 10 things I hate about you

Inner Cities: I appreciate your work a lot but I think this haircut doesn't fit him too well because it brings the attention to the forehead and the thinning hair at the front. However you are a master of your art.

Hairline Confessions: Massive improvement!

Daddys Youtube: You can clearly see the eyes of regret and pain lol

Caleb Pagan: Not trying to be rude, but all of the videos I’ve seen on this channel have a white balance issue. The image is too warm and appears yellow. Not sure what program you use to edit, but most have a white balance/color temperature slider. You should make the white balance cooler when the image appears so warm. ✌️

Stephen A.: Ben looks quite a bit like Heath Ledger.

Mark Wagner: Ben is adorable with it without long hair But I like my men with longer curly hair

Fay Wickens: He looks soooo much younger and better looking!

Brenda Sixtus: Love the hair cut... really suits the guy.

Dannsandiego: While a great cut as always, I have long curly hair and this convinced me not to cut it...yet.

Bhargab Kalita: Awesome work sir, Love from INDIA❤️

Patric Hellberg: Wow! Amazing job!

Aaron: Can you do a video on afro hair please dan? Thank you mate class as always

Kyle Balloch: Always love to see the time piece you are wearing. A very nice Nato band for that Rolex. Great haircut too! :)

K.mersch: Should have put some pomade and blow dryed it all straight. Would look clean

Marlene Gold: Both before and after look good on him.

Jacob Lunn: Hi I keep showing my barber a picture of how I would like my hair. He does the top the same as the pic but in the pic it shows a skin fade but he does it I think 0.5 into a one and a two what’s the best way to approach this as I want a skin fade? But I’m quite a shy person and don’t want to say anything

BiCaro Yoda: A handsome bloke. Looks good with any hairstyle.

chrisschwabfan: I think he looked great before and after the cut, too. But better was the long hair....Does he have Instagram or Facebook?

Paperboy: That was the most unenthusiastic response I’ve seen. He looked extremely unsure of what he’d just done. Good cut as always but now it’s obvious his hairline is receding & it’s very fine on top, which doesn’t help.

meg mckeon: He looks so much more handsome.....you can really see the angles in his face so much better

Bruce Kai: The customer went from homeless vagabond to James Bond Vibez… a little thanks and smile wouldn’t have gone a miss!!!

Daddys Youtube: 16-22 mins in he’s thinking what the fk have I done lol

Mary BowesO’Brien: At first I thought no but at the end those beautiful features stood out more .. very handsome ✨

Nadel M: Went from Heath Ledger in a Knights Tale to Tom Hiddleston in Kong at 23:27!

Shannon Cuzen: Looks great!

Mika Ika: he looks devastated! But he’s has a great face it work

Les Hernandez: Great haircut. But I'm as impressed with the clippers, Where can I buy them? I live in the U.S. and can I buy it here. Many Thanks.

funkysouldancer1: That haircut turned a handsome man into a dish...The stylist was really handsome too with a nice haircut.

DebbieDebcor1: He looked like he wasn’t really thrilled with the outcome and was holding back saying something. I thought it looked so much better.

Matthew Lowry: Noooooooo….don’t cut it all off………okay he does look great at the end but his hair at the start was great too!!!!!!

Don Peace: It looked better with long curls

Mike Finley: great hair cut, but I liked his long hair also
