I had the blow dryer too close to my head and it literally took like a chunk of hair out. Oh hi, my name is Bianca Renee. My name is Jasmine. Mcneil hi, my name is Corey Lindsay hi. My name is, and this is professions I learned to do my hair cut on my own. I am mixed. My mom is white in Spanish. My dad is black. So, with my mom doing my hair, she had no idea how to do curly hair, so she had straight hair. So, for a long time I was just using products made for straight hair, like we did like the the pantenees, the tresemmes and everything, and then I learned that there's actually products for curly hair and that's actually how my YouTube channel started, because I was kind of Learning on camera, while also trying to help other curly people, so I basically have to teach myself how to do my own hair, because I didn't have any help from my parents. My main hair tools, I use are my fingers. I like to finger detangle. Basically, when I'm in the shower, but then when I get out the shower, I do use the diffuser and that's how I get my volume. I have really fine hair. So if I don't diffuse, I'm gon na be flat. So I do use my diffuser on my wash days and on my refresh days, my biggest curly mistakes. When styling my hair would probably be applying product incorrectly. I used to use a mousse, a gel and a hairspray, and those are just like all three hard casting products. I never use leave-in conditioners, I kind of just start doing that. I used to wash my hair every every single day. I didn't know about refreshing that my hair would actually look better as days go on, so I would definitely recommend not washing your hair every day if you have curls and letting it stretch out, because it looks even better as the days go on, I learned to Do my hair, when I was around 10 years old, growing up biracial, my mom was white. My dad was black, so she really had to like learn how to do my hair, and I just remember one day she did not do my French braids the way that I needed her to do them like there was little flyaways. So there was just one day that I took my braids out and I was like you know what Mom I'm gon na do it. I start with my leave-in conditioner, my styling gel. I put like this little Pomade around my edges, so my edges, weren't frizzy and I was able to go to school and I was like you know what from here Mom I got it and I was today I was like 10.. My learning curve is probably still happening. I was going to school with predominantly white women and other girls, and I wanted straight Sleek hair just like them, and I was like what's the only way that I can do it, and that was for me to relax my hair. My hair was chemically fried. I would flat iron on top of it anytime. I see a hair straightener now I'm triggered like I'm like. I don't want to use that or fry that to fry my hair, without any more and after that point I was like you know what let me just cut all my hair off, probably jaw length, and that was whenever I really like paid attention to what products Were good for my hair, what ingredients that was like really the start of my learning curve and, like my real curl Journey, was in high school growing up. There wasn't a lot of videos to watch to learn what to do with your hair. My mom wasn't too big on doing my hair, so I had to figure it out trying to get the part straight, having braids that really didn't look like braids, but it was all like trial and error, so I definitely burnt my hair out with the blow dryer Before um yeah, that was terrible, it was like the back of my head, I'm for sure growing up, didn't appreciate my hair. That was part of why I liked it because I couldn't deal with it. I felt like I was taking the easy way out, but a lot of people take that, like locks, can be very spiritual. It'S a spiritual journey had them for nine years. I felt like I needed to shed something and I chose my hair after I cut my Locs off I felt light. I was like a feather like I could just float away. I actually learned how to do my hair about four years ago. I did my big chop. I had a girlfriend who also had short hair and she kind of walked me through that journey and YouTube became one of my best friends, Bianca Renee, actually being my hair spell. That was when I started the first time I ever used a pick. That was the first time I ever used oil separated My Curls. I now have a filter in my in my house. It'S just like a Brita, but for your hair, I'm an East Coast girl water is extremely different. Where I came from, we actually Harvest our water from the local area, so you can actually see the Spring Water California, water has has shown me how hard it is and again that's where my hair was super dry. I needed tons of moisture and I honestly didn't know what to do, and that has been my biggest struggle since living in California growing up in a Latina household. It was very much a straight hair community, especially Dominicans, to go to the hair salon, get it blown out in New York City growing up. I didn't really have that curly hair culture chopping it off essentially allowed me to manipulate shorter hair. I used to I've always been the girl that has hair down her back and just relied on length like that was like a big security blanket for me and then, when I chopped it off again, YouTube University definitely helped me get through all those bumps and, and Now my hair and I we have a good working relation. Sometimes we we run into issues but for the most part I have mastered the art of my hair. My name is Bianca Renee. My name is Jasmine McNew. My name is Corey Lindsey. My name is Mimi Pereira, and this is curl fashions, and this is my curl confessions. Curl Fashions call curl fresh Sean Dove. Zero percent is different. We left aluminum out and put 48 hour freshness and one quarter moisturizers in Dove zero percent aluminum deodorant lasting protection. That'S Kinder on skin, hey you guys! truly_troyonna: This was so relatable! I went from curly to relaxed (as my sister and I got older and life got busier) back to curly in early college right before the natural hair content started booming. Perfect timing! My hair and I are flourishing now! Thanks for sharing and for posting this in your story Bianca! I wouldn't have caught this otherwise. All of you ladies are gems.
