John McClellan, with fish and makeup, bringing you the hair to day I wanted to bring to you an easy curl that you would do this summer. You can do whatever it's a curl, but you can have more fun with you. Don'T have me to have it be perfect, but I really do think you're gon na, like this hair tutorial for short hair, so stick around here we go oh by the way, not only that you're using a flat iron. Add a tapered wand. Let'S go alright pups. Let'S get started on this hair tutorial of second day hair yesterday, I did not have time to do my hair or curly, usually I'll, get it all curled on day one so that on day, two and three, I'm just letting it become a really loose curl. But yesterday I didn't have time to curl it, so I just thought I heard at the ends now my hair is pretty darn straight. My ends, kinda get a little bit of frizz. So if you have more straight hair, this is gon na be perfect for you. I'M gon na show you, though, what I do today: that's gon na be an easy fast curl for summer or because we just don't have time to do our hair braids long, but we still want to look bomb and we still want to look awesome. So that's what I'm gon na bring to you today, I'm going to heat up really quick like I put it down on like 390 is and I'm using today we're gon na use a tapered wand. Now I use launches hair care. Yes, I'm gon na fill it with them, but you'll see in my past videos that when in like the beginning, I was talking about trying to find new flat irons and things in curling hats and things like that. Cuz mine had fit dust. They were done before and had a ver really long time, and so I searched forever. I even pulled some crappy ones that were expensive. They stopped so bad, so I found launched and I only use them because I absolutely of them I tested them out before ever. Being affiliate with them - and I am a huge fan - so these are almost done this one's completely done heated up. This is the lava, a flat iron, its titanium. These are actually both titanium and let's get started I'm using both because I want to do just a fun easy flip. I'M gon na do a fun easy flip, but a little bit of curl to it, so that it just gives it a little bit more sass. It goes by very quickly I'll talk on some show you all about this, but then I'll stay quiet another. So we can just whip out the curl get it done so that this tutorial won't. Take you very long to watch the cool thing about this hair. Is that it is done quickly, especially if you're not talking so, hopefully you enjoy it. Here we go alright. I got my hair parted up. I just so that it's easier to not have to go through pieces. I used to not part my hair, but then I started finding out that it was a lot easier to control what the heck I was even doing so I part my hair off. I am going to dry shampoo, my hair get it in there, wake it up, especially the parts where you feel like you're, touching all the time or, if you're a back sleeper or anything like that, you really want to get in those places, places plus a dry Shampoo helps add volume to your hair as well, which is balm anyways, so we're just gon na wait things up, and then I'm gon na take random sections and I'm going to just pull it's not gon na, be like flat iron, then of the the wand flat Wand flat iron wand, it's gon na, just be, however, the heck I'm feeling which helps it go even quicker. So when you are curling actual ring, like rings and you're, trying to make this perfect curl, you want to make sure you grab pieces and make it like super nice super clean, but for this tutorial I'm not carrying so much with clinks. I just want crazy. I just want fun, I want quick, so I'm not going to be you're, not going to be seeing me going through and grabbing each piece and making each piece super perfect. This is not a perfect hairstyle. In fact, I want to make sure that you is don't always do perfect hairstyles, so here we go. I'M just gon na grab some pieces with my flat iron. I just do this like twist. I don't go all the way down and I'm just adding up this volume, these first ones. I want you to make sure that you give it a little something so that it's not so flat, especially in the front, especially if you have a hairstyle like mine cuz. My hairstyle is longer in the front and shorter in the back. So since those front pieces are long, we want to make sure that we give them a little some song to wake them up right right. So I'm gon na go in with some curl pieces. I'M gon na go in with some straight and I'm gon na make it fun. Alright hold tight, we'll speed this up for just a bit and then when I need to tell you something important. No, but real, quick like before. I completely speed up this video for for your sanity. Like I said on these front ones, you want to make sure that you give us something. As you see me style, my hair you're, going to see it come around and harp some pieces are gon na. Have hardly anything done to them and that's: okay, that's totally fine you're, also gon na see that I have a one head of my one side of my head that doesn't cooperate very much kind of annoying very much. I think we all have one of those right. I think so so, since this is my more awkward side, I am going to probably do more curls on this front side, but I wanted to teach you something too, with the flat iron so because you have one side, that's easier for you to kind of twist And turn and do all the things right, and you have one side that isn't as easy. I want you to kind of over exaggerate it putting your hand into it before before you do so. Instead of this coming in it just like this and then you're trying to turn it back and your arm is like her and you can't figure it out right and then you end up with a weird curl. I want you to over exaggerate your hand and then that way you can give it that crease and bring it down without a really weird curl. So I'll show you that one more time you're gon na over exaggerate your hand, so you're not going in you're not going in easy, like this you're twisting your hand over and then you're bringing it and doing that twist and then you're just having it sit there. I'M gon na bring it down there we go so we show you that again right here twist, don't go all the way through just give it a twist so right here I have about inch wide sections and I'm just gon na pull even pull bigger pieces. This doesn't matter, you can pull bigger pieces, but you're just gon na give it that twist and I don't go down to the ends. That'S why it was good on day one to flat iron, my hands, and if you do have frizzy ends, you can totally flat iron the fence. But if you before, you start - and you know you have frizzy ends, if you just want to go to them really really quickly before is your chance, there was your chance. This is why I love the tapered 1/2, because I can go in and make some curls that are going to be super tight up in here and just make these fun teeny tiny curls, and then I can also make ones that are bigger. So I love me a tapered wand. It is probably one of my very favorite things right now. I think the tapered wand has all kinds of goodness to it. I love it so much hey now we're at this point where I'm at the top. This is where I tend to get oily. I think it's because I'm always messing with my part, so I'm gon na make sure that I am giving my dry shampoo in there really good, like PS, how many of you notice my shirt, yes went to one of their concerts. I tell you what always good. Always a good choice, always a good choice. Okay, the the biggest thing right now when I get to the very top. This is where the important factor comes in: it's how you want to part your hair and which side you want to parted on now by the show of hands. How many of you guys have been picked parting, your hair on the exact same side for years right? Well, let's make some volume happen baby and let's change things up, so you are going to actually well. You can decide it's up to you, but you can figure out how you want your part to be. You can curl everything down the center and then flip it and whatnot, but I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been curling everything back and when I have when I curl everything back. If I, when I change my part and everything's, been curled back, it's actually gon na look make some pieces. Look like they've been curl forward, and so that's the difference that it gives you. So you don't have to make up your mind beforehand. If you, what where you want your part to be, but just know that if you just curl it, however, you want to curl it, and then you go and flip it. If your part does change, that's why? Okay, okay, but changing up your part, is a game-changer. Indeed, do myself flip not all the way through and when you're done with this, if you feel like you wished, you would have had a little bit more curling areas. It'S totally fine. You can easily just add in some curls where you feel that you need it and then you're good to go curl this baby up we're almost to the park. Then you'll see what I do. Okay, I'm gon na park down the center. I normally don't style my hair with it down the center, but I'm going to show you what it will look like if you change up your part, so I'll style, this baby crazy on top I'll, tell this baby with everything rolling back. Okay, I want to get some good volume, because this is the top, so Hey almost wrapping it up. If you notice at this top stuff white, where it's longer, I do my flip, but then I have so much hair that one that needs that needs a home. So I'm just gon na: do it again a little bit down and it just makes it for a crazy funky curl slash crimp you'll, like it trust me: okay, we're almost done and then I'm going to show you the difference in the part. Okay, everything is curled up. I have it parted down the middle. If you want to keep it like this part down the middle, I just add a little sprit to it. I would use some type of oil like this is marula oil from launched hair. I would use something like that, because this I like to spray it on my hand and then that helps me pull the pieces apart. So if you have something like this use that baby or there's always launch as well, I love this stuff but again see how it just makes them fun. Easy, curls, but your hand isn't like pulling everything out. It'S just fun, but it's also making it look like it has a purpose not just like a ton of strands pulling away from each other, and then it just looks like a bunch of crazy. Your hands are doing the work for you, because a brush would take it all out more, and this makes it so much easier on you. Okay, so again you can leave it just like this or we can mess with the part a little bit more. So what I'm gon na do is my hair normally parts from this side over, because I parted it down the middle, though I'm gon na end, then I have some on this side. It'S gon na add more volume over to this side, or I can take this side because it's not used to always parting over there, but instead of pulling it forward like this, I push it back, so it gives it like this little bubble and then it just Gives you a little bit sass right, so this is parting on this side. This is the side that my hair is not used to. I love it. I love the extra but bit of poof, but look at that volume that it gives you okay and then this is the side that it's used to party on so not as much volume, but it's fun. So these curls are now flipped forward and they were going back, but now that we moved it they're all going forward and then around my face, I just did those flat iron ones. I did some curls, depending on which side depends on how they flow. If they're going back earth they're going forward okay here, if they were like a Satele end of this tutorial, so one of the things that I used is like the Marilla oil is what I told you about an oil that you can kind of squish them together. Pull out your curls not making it so you're losing all your curl by using a brush. You never want to go through these curls with a brush. That'S just gon na ruin it off so spraying. This, on your hand, is my very favorite because then I have more control over. If you want to make your ends PC, you can use a pomade. I love this pomade cuz. I don't know if you can tell but see how it's shiny on the inside yep. It'S shiny on the inside, making it more and stronger than a gel. It'S got really good grit and not grit. It'S not gritty, it's got really good hold to it, and so you can go in and make things more PC and then some people like to use like a salt and sea spray to get themselves more volume. Waking up his book. You can do whatever you wish that you want to add to your hair for your hairstyle um. If you need help, you can comment below with what your hair style is, I can tell you what one's it might be best for your hair if you like, but you need to. Let me know that too, oh, and I think that's all for this tutorial, so we're just gon na wrap up the very like black things that you can do in other tutorials I'll mention what I do before or to take care of all the things. But that's all she wrote with what I put in my hair, not a lot of product for a day to hair, not a lot at all. If you feel you need hairspray get just some good hairspray, but I don't really have to use a ton of hair spray with going with these pearls. That'S another reason why I like going into the tapered end, just because it's gon na help the memory hold that for a couple more days and it's awesome and I love. Let me show you every angle of my hair. That is the very end of this tutorial. I hope that you learned something new. I hope you're going to take this into your bathroom stell. Devia Eller: Jocelyn, I just started following you about a week ago when I was doing some research on mascara beauty makeup. Love your makeup in this video and would love to see a tutorial. When I started following you I didn't know I would get an added bonus of this gorgeous hairstyle. Love it so much. Thank you for sharing

Staci Gibson: I curled how you showed in this video and I loved it. Curling with a part down the middle is a huge deal. Made the major difference in how my bangs and front looked. Thank you!!

Vanessa Supple: Absolutely love this hairstyle! Going to try it right now!

HairListing: Great video and inspiration for styling your short hair. Love it.

Adventures with Gina & Dan: . I got my hair cut like yours a couple months ago. Love it

Marge Burkell: Came upstairs to curl my hair, turned on my iPad to watch a video while I did it and SHAZAM! Look who’s in my subscription feed! LOVE it! Love L’ange products! Using my 19mm and my LaReve flat iron today’s first day hair. Thanks for keeping me company while I finished up Jocelyn! I love my short, fast and easy that lasts at least 3 days thin and fine hair now that you introduced me to these great products! I have more volume, style and lastibility... is that even a word? Nah, but who cares! You catch my drift! Love you dahlin!

Healthier Food - That Looks Good: Holy sh!t!! Can’t wait to part my hair tomorrow for the first time in 29 years this is my absolute favorite hair tutorial... love the gorgeous “laziness” in it Two questions, my hair is horribly oily so I’m super excited about using dry shampoo.. can you suggest other brands as I can’t find that one in my country? and also, do you know of another option to style the hair, after it’s been curled, as beautifully as the oil you use (that’s not an oily product)? Thanks in advance! PS: LOVE THE SHIRT

Lynn Phillips Camp: love it thanks for showing us

CK Grace: Love your Def Leppard shirt!!! And I am getting my haircut like your the end of this month. Thanks for being so much fun and informing to watch!

aa vv: Great video Eben though 5 I've got long hair. You've given me some great tips and shown me what I can do for more volume. Thank you from San Francisco girl fan!

Freedom66: Stumbled across this video reviewing men's hair styles. Unbelievablely pretty. Caught me by "wow" she is stunning. Just had to stop in and say that.

Cynthia L: I just chopped off my hair similar to this a bit shorter..it did not quite come out like i wanted but it will grow..great video

mechelle cranford: I just got my three L’ange products that I told you I ordered. My question is what thermal product are you using for second or third day hair? I can’t wash my hair everyday bc I have 2b/2c hair and it will break. I can’t wait to try the three products. I got the dry shampoo, too. I tried to use your 1/2 off code, but it didn’t work. Not sure if it’s bc of the anniversary sale. I’m getting the curling iron set with the tapered wand. Thanks for always answering my questions and doing these vids! Have a great day!

Eileen Ricker: Just found your channel. Love it:)

Judy Cunningham: I am always curious - what do you do with your hair when you shower on the second and third day? I wear a shower cap but the humidity destroys it. Do you wear a shower cap? Either way, how do you combat the humidity from the shower on day 2 and 3?

Janey Pumphrey: I love your hair and style and just got my new L'ange wand! I have layered hair and I've always put product in my hair before I blow dry. My question for you is do you dry your hair, then put product in? what about heat protectant? I used a competitor iron and my hair broke off even after I used heat protector, so I'm nervous.

Caterina Helmeke: I just found your channel recently and I looooove your hair tutorials My hair length is just like yours. So your videos are perfect for me. I just have one problem: my hair is very soft (an odd thing to complain about, I know). But because of that it doesn’t keep the volume up very long. Do you have any advice what products to use to help me with that?? Thank you so much. PS: Love your energy

Deirdre McAdams: Do you recommend the dry shampoo for less oily/dry hair?

Ashley Gwillim: Hey. So the 2nd after curling, would you run ur fingers through ur hair rather then a brush

Michelle Arseneau: Love love this video!!!

Linda Lincoln: Great tutorial!! Love your necklace! Where idi you get it?

Cathy Schmick: Hi Jocelyn....love your videos! Very descriptive on tips, clues, etc. But I must know where you got your Def Leppard shirt!!!! Have a great holiday weekend if you see this before July 4th.

Sandra Waters: My hair style is about the same as yours but very thin.  I have the curling wand and flat iron by L'Ange  I have problems with the ends looking brittle or dry. will the Marula oil help this,

Laila McDevitt: LOVE LOVE your channel. I have watched a ton of hair videos and one question I never see answered is about second, third, fourth, etc day hair. Do you wet your hair first and reapply protectant or do you just go with the way it is when you wake up and the heat protectant from wash day is still there?

Charlene Hesselink: I see that you use dry shampoo a lot, I feel like it makes my head itch! Any other suggestions?

gracie b: It would be helpful to know the hair cut, I.e., one length, layered etc.

Heidi Wagner: Love the tutorial and want to try some products but the code doesn’t work

Yolanda: Your eyes look so pretty

Wendy Powers: what eye shadows do you have on?

Janice Jubach: When I try to use the sea salt spray it just ruins my curls because its wet. Am I using too much or can you give me any advice?

Shirley Frederickson: Subscribed!

Rara Air: Gawgess darling ‍♀️ xx

Tim Miller: oh myyyy gosh. so pretty love your hair. Do you have hair color ideas for brown hair with grays starting to peak...I want fashionie, trendy coloring ideas so i'm not in the salon every 4 weeks. highlights? lowlights? cool silver gray hightlights? I have a 30th reunion coming up and want to KILL it. insert smily face.

Kaye Carter Mature Woman Daily Dose: Cute cute cute..

Helen Pescadero: Nice

Charity Hasting: Help?!?!? I have been trying L’ange products for a bit but I don’t know if I’m getting the best. Sometimes it dries my hair....thin fine hair and little shorter than yours. Hope you can give me some advice bc I love how yours turns out!

Fit Mission Makeup Jocelyn McClellan: Whats your favorite hair tool for short hair?

Fraukje Punt: Can you please tell me what products I can use? I'm living in Europe and there are products from L'Ange that they don't sent to Europe. I love your style!

Kimberly Barrett: I thought this was Scarlet Johansson.

rollin ricknshy: I have short hair and have a calluc in back i eas thinking of the undercut is that how your hair is. I just do not know what to ask for at salon

7777chiquita: Oh my goodness too much talk.

Anh T.: talk too much

Carmen Silva: Nice but to much ttttttaaaallllkkkiiinnnngggg!!!!

cybersylv: So.much.talking. I have been dying to learn how to do this exact style but had to ffwd so much to get to actual "doing". And, then you sped up the doing part! I wanted to see the technique and there wasn't as much of that as there was talking, talking, talking.
