Hey y'all: what's up, it's Alesha welcome back to my channel in today's video I'll, be doing a little bit of an experiment, I'll be trying out the roller wrap, saran, wrap method for natural hair and pretty much it's a way to straighten your hair without using any Flat irons at all, so this should be interesting, like I said, I'm just doing minimal heat, so no flat, irons, no blow dryers just sitting under a hooded dryer. So it's pretty much an experiment to see how straight my natural hair can get so first thing: I'm doing right now is just sectioning off a smaller section of hair. Just so it's easier to work with and install each of my hair rollers. So I'm just kind of putting the rest of the hair away, and I have that little section in the front, which will be the first section that I'll be working with. So of course I have to apply leave-in conditioner, so I'm using the meal organics leave-in conditioner. This conditioner is super lightweight and I wanted something that I know for sure would not weigh my hair down. So I decided to opt for this leave-in, so I went ahead and sprayed that medium sized section and then, of course, I'm raking. It smoothing it in so that way. I know my hair is covered and product next, I'm spraying a little bit of the f OG carrots in and green tea, restructure, Iser, and this is U square heat protectant, and it also helps to give my hair even more shine. So I once add a little bit of that to my hair so that when my hair does not get damaged at all during this process, I have applied the restructure, Iser, I'm just kind of separating off a smaller section of hair, because this will be the section That the roller will be applied to so I kind of go for more of a smaller section, and then I take some of the care care, foam setting lotion and just apply that to the hair as well. So that way it gives my hair a nice hold. It helps to protect against heat and it'll, leave my hair, soft and silky. I also like C's a detangling brush to help smooth and detangle my hair. That way there are no tangles at all and for my rollers, I'm using the goody brand hair rollers from Target. They are velcro, so it's supposed to be easier. It'S you kind of wrap my hair and also stretch the root. So that way, the roots get even more straight in so we're gon na. Try us out and see how it goes. And honestly, I didn't have really any technique. As far as like how I wanted to roll my hair, I kind of just went with how I want my hair to fall and I love volume. So I definitely wanted my bang area. That'S a be rolled backwards, so that way has a good curl and some lift. So I kinda just went with the flow and kind of felt for how one of my curls to fall and then just install the he rollers. That way - and I forgot to mention the way I installed the he rollers pretty much - I took the high roller I started from root and then rode it all the way to the tips of my hair and then began to roll it towards my head. So that way, I kind of got a good stretch at the root before I started to roll, because if I didn't do it that way, my roots wouldn't get a stretch and it would be a little bit more bumpy. So I tried my best to kind of stretch out the roots by gliding, my velcro roller, from root to tip and then rolling the hair roller towards my head. I hope that made sense. You guys will see and it's a tutorial, but I figured I would go ahead and explain exactly what I'm doing so yeah. I just do that all throughout my head, pear and, as you guys can see, I am doing different sized carolers, because this will give my hair even more volume. I have finally installed all of the hair alerts, and this is how it looks. I tried my best to smooth my hair down and get my roots as smooth as possible, so, like I said, we'll see how it turns out in a second, but I just want to give you guys a 360 of how the hair alerts look installed. And now I just sit under a hair dryer or a fitted hair dryer for about an hour and a half to two hours. Of course, it all depends on how your hair dries, but for me hour and a half worked just fine hour and a half later. My hair was completely dry, so I just went ahead and sent down each hee roller, because these hair alerts are velcro. I have to be very careful so that way I don't snag and pull on my hair, so I'm just being very gentle and very soft and slow with the process, but it didn't take long at all to take down all of the hair alerts. Once I removed the he rollers, the first thing I realized was how soft my hair felt my hair had so much body. It just felt silky and soft, and I don't know it just felt different like how it typically will whenever I would get my hair straightened. So I was pleasantly surprised that so far I had really good results. But to add to that, I did go ahead and apply a little bit of the Garnier Fructis sleek and shine serum. This kind of helps to get rid of any frizz ease, and it also helps to make my hair a sleeker and, of course, shinier. So I did apply that all throughout my hair and I did focus on the ends of my hair as well, because those tend to get too frizzy is now. I have two arap, my hair, which I haven't done in so long so I'll. Oh, he forgot how to wrap my hair. It was interesting, but I did get it done using a wide tooth comb and a brush in the last step in this wrapping process is to apply saran wrap. This is supposed to kind of help trap in the heat and get your hair even straighter. So I want to see if this really did the trick to getting my hair. It'S still keying soft without using a flat iron, and so it took a couple of tries to get that's the ran wrap on it. Honestly is not as easy as it looks, but I got it done. I had to apply a couple of layers because I wanted my entire hair covered in the saran wrap. Also, I did go ahead and remove those clips that were in my hair holding the wrap. So that way, I didn't have any bumps in my hair, and this is how the final result looks so after sitting under the hair dryer for ten more minutes. It is now time to take down my hair and there's nothing fancy with this part. I just use my fingers and a comb like I normally would to take down my wrap all right, you guys, so I went ahead and took down my rap and let's just go ahead and get into how my hair turned out um. So I will say straight off the bat. My hair is very soft, but it feels how it naturally would if I was to go ahead and get my hair straightened, it feels very effortless, very lightweight. It doesn't feel way down all, even though I did use a rapping mousse heat protectant, leaving in a serum. My hair still feels just as lightly as it would if I had one to a stylist and guy in my hair strand. However, this right here is not what I had in mind. I had high hopes our really did. Y'All had high hopes. This is just not my cup of tea. I will set this part right. Here is much more my speed, I love volume and I love like really loose bouncy curls, so this section right here I could work with. Do y'all see how it's like super bouncy and the curls are kind of like they're there, but they aren't there like. It'S. Just very lightweight loose curls yeah, this parts more me this right here I don't know what happened like part of it straight part of it didn't wrap properly. If y'all can see it right here, my roots are not really straight at all. I had hoped that the velcro rollers would like do a better job of getting my my um my root straight, but no, they did not get my bring it's very straight at all and it feels kind of like kind of like lumpy and bumpy back there. So I just I don't know, I don't really feel it yeah. This is just like it's like those voices, I'm so yeah. I have seen some videos where people did succeed in the roller wrap like process, but for me, as I can see, it was a complete fail like I came and do anything with this like I can't I can't this is just it just looks crazy, so I Hope that you guys enjoyed this video we've done it hopeful. I definitely love doing experiments like these, for you guys, because I love trying stuff out first to let you guys know it give y'all the real and how it really turned out and if it's worth there or not. So if you guys want me to do more experiments and just test different products out, let me know by giving this video a thumbs up and subscribe if you guys haven't already. As always, I love y'all have a wonderful day and I will talk to you guys in the next video bye.

MzBe Youtiful: HI Alisha. Your hair looks very soft. However the Velcro rollers were not the way to go. For my clients I used the hard rollers, some call them magnetic rollers. I make sure to keep their hair wet. You'll get better results. Roll your hair in smaller sections tightly.. After it dries use the Saran Wrap again like you did and use cool air to avoid sweating and frizzing for 10 minutes. Please try it again. I'm very sure you'll love it

The Southern Apron: See...this is a real time video. I like that you were honest about your hair and how this turned out. This is a great video to demo an experiment of what works for someone else that may not work for you or others with your same hair type. However...when you first took out the rollers, your hair was so curly and bouncy! Your hair has gotten so long. I just re-watched one of your deep conditioner videos today. ❤️

Muriel Frazier: Loved it before you wrapped it! Thanks for being transparent on how it really turned out. Maybe keep trying different techniques; I think you will get the right way down in no time. Have a great week!

N A Y A : Wow, Alisha. This is motivation for me. I've been wanting to try this for years. Your explanation is so helpful, so I'll give it a try soon. Thanks!

Drena Fran: Thank you for sharing you real and honest results!! I know this is exactly how my hair would turn out if I were to do the same.

GigglesAttack91: Yea, I love how you give your viewers your honest opinion, I liked your curls before the saran wrap method! Still cute ❤️

Katherine Miller: I love roller sets on my type 4 hair, but like you, I haven't perfected the silk wrap yet. I use tension, also called hourglass rollers. You get a very smooth set with those and the grip the hair, but they don't snag it. They're not cheap, but I think they're worth it. When the weather cools off, I will be roller setting my hair more.

Loganne: Ok so this is really adding to the Lynn Whitfield lookalike! Love it!

Jayarie: I liked it more before the saran wrap but I'm surprised it worked overall. Excellent alternative to a blow out and maybe even a flat iron

Bri's Self Love Diary: Another one: Me: Isn't she pretty? My 3-year-old: Yes. The pretty's too much. It's too pretty in my eyes!!

STYLING WITH GG FAISON: Thanks for being so honest and transparent. You are beautiful and can sport basically anything and still be cute.

Rachel Nobles: Appreciate the try and your honesty!

Dannie H.: Great concept, and I enjoyed it! How about a redo video with regular magnetic rollers? May I ask, where did you get you "sit under" dryer from?

ollicsia mcintosh: Hey so my hair used to come out exactly like this. Now once I finish washing my hair, I wrap my hair with a small tooth comb (this will straighten the hair)and sit under the dryer. You can also add a few rollers to the top for extra volume.

Lorraine Gregg: Hi, I think it was smoother and shinier when you took out the rollers. I think the plastic wrap sweats your hair out and just made it go back to natural.

Pegasus 1: Hi, another great video. I am terrible with roller sets but I will try your method so I don't get bumps in my hair. But I don't think I will try the cling film wrap...mainly because I preferred your hair prior to the wrap but in truth...you still look great. And I thank you for being honest with your thoughts on the end result. Love from London

Jas Uss: Your rating segment… honest and hilarious. I’ve had hair days like that.

Gloria Harrison: It's the Saran wrap.  What happens is because we're natural the hair sweats under the Saran wrap and starts to revert back.  I've tried this before and my hair turned out the same way.  Next time, maybe wrap it and cover with a satin scarf overnight.

Elaine Porter: It’s ok Alisha! Maybe one day have it professionally done and watch how they do it.

Ebony Williams®: Your results are really cute, I like the loose curls!

cat136: Alisha, you did a great roller set! Do you ever wear a hairnet when you go under the dryer?

Ebony Rivers: You should try loosely pin curling it at night. This will allow you to have the straight root and maintain loose curls when you wake up. I'm relaxed, but my hair will do the same half straight/hair curl if I wrap it after a roller set. Great effort, though. Your hair looked really soft and flowing.

EFTG: The wrap thingy killed it, wen u took your hair out of the rollers it was sooo beautiful, I think those rollers are perfect for our natural hair

Tarua Gets Dressed: I used to use the Velcro rollers when I was relaxed and always have frizzing. I like how you really didn’t get frizz

Raquel: the velcro rollers act like a brush to me and are more for sleeping...it's flat on that side because it was laid flat with the brush before wrapping...I agree that the other side has more volume...This style reveals the any damage to the ends when dry. I would clip the ends. I would clip them.

Goodgirl Hayden: you did a great job but I think the way you wrapped your hair was the reason why it didn't work in the end... Everything up until that point was great

Alexus Prince: Hello beautiful, I thought it was really nice when you took the rollers out. Maybe skip the wrap step ☺️

With Marcia: Great method for stretching the hair

Phaedra Evans: This is exactly how my hair does.. Nice try though ❤

Natura 💚💚: is it possible to just let it air dry instead of sitting under a hooded dryer? and if you let it air dry would the results be the same as if you used a hooded dryer??

Theresa Toomer: I think foam setting lotions can dry out the hair especially if there is alcohol in it. Probably a liquid setting lotion like Lotta body may have worked better.

jasmine johnson: It looks good , thanks for sharing

Fuq Yea: I agree these are the wrong rollers.I used these a long time ago and they create frizz. Also you need to wrap the hair pretty smooth

Miquisha K: I always wondered about the Velcro rollers.. It’s still very pretty and bouncy.. Thanks for sharing..

Deb JB: I think flexi- rods & curlformers work best!

Khristi Chisholm: It looked better without wrapping it. The curl waves were poppin'

Corie Smith: Unwrap your hair in the direction of the wrap. Use different rollers and let it air dry longer

cat136: Alisha I really love your roller set your rows are very neat Do you ever wear a hair net when you go under the dryer?

Michele Roby: Loved the experiment . You can pull that back into a ponytail and were a ball on top?

Jennifer Jones: I loved it better pre-wrapped right after the rollers were removed.

Shelby J: I think you put too much plastic wrap on your head and it caused it to sweat and become frizzy. I think you should try it again. And yes I would like to see more videos like that.

Reesecup727: Wow! Going to try, thanks for sharing

Michp007: Your hair is georgous in my opinion in my opinion. Your Grace Kelly look. Have you ever done the Brizilian blow out?

Kyla Butler: OMG! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shakina Riley: This is really amazing

Jazzdaa Greatestt: Be careful with those sticky rollers will pull ur hair right on out it sticks to ur hair like crazy I use hard rollers

Dira501: It wasn't the saran wrap at all, it was the type of rollers and the size. Try the hour glass rollers and a smaller size roller and it will come out better. Styles by Eden here on YouTube doesn't use any product in her roller sets at all and they come out bouncy and shiny.

Savannah Williams: You should try to flexi rod it!

Milissa Richards: I'm laughing so hard it reminds me of a flexi rod set i did last week Monday. I think it was the wrapping wasn't properly done.

sabrina adams: I think you should have stopped the Step2 because that looks really great but I always like anything you do to your hair

Natura 💚💚: @6:12 you looked like Lynn Whitfield in the movie "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate".

Ali B: Maybe you can do a perm rob set with it before you go back curly ; if you already didn’t lol

A K: u wrapped it the wrong way & u didn't need that first leave in . Less is more for a silk wrap . The aphrogee , mousse and serum was enough . Read the labels they'll tell u what to use it for

CC@Gemini: Flexi rod your hair and the curls will come back.

Naomi Clark: Hey, You will get better results with magnetic rollers, and I roll mines up with tension.

Cee-Lina foster: Seems like the saran wrap make you sweat

Dee Cee: Great tutorial, can you do the Walmart challenge?

Caramel Sauce: Please do magnetic rollers. It turned out better than mine did with Velcro new subscriber

Daphne Williams: It looks good

cristina g: You're so pretty and elegant

Crystal V: You still look pretty

Kendra __: Thought this was no heat

Naturally Kish: She shouldn’t have wrapped it

Bea: Ditto that.....looked good without the wrap

Btenda Huffman: Your hair looked it better without the rapping

CoolnWitCort: You messed up when u wrapped it with the wrong brush and suran wrapped natural hair ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Deanne Amoroso: Looks frizzy

Bri's Self Love Diary: My 3-year-old *(In response to the wrapping part): Why you making your hair too tight? Me: Is it too tight? That's supposed to make it straighter. Him: You already making your hair straight.

Keisha Belvet: Hey Alissha, just curious. Are you and Kyra Knox twins?

Denise: Try again
