Oh God great point: we did drop it, I'm like it did that thing where, like I pressed, continue and it just like automatically kind of zipped me through, like it loaded things without me, really looking explicitly at what happened, but I think this is right. Yeah. I think I don't know what I mean. I mean we were here last time, so I really can't be much, but the only thing we did here was drop the bridge so either it's down or we just got to hit a button, but we should. We should be good a little more light. You know I like it. I like that out the way it's light, a little more Moody, good Moody for for the uh for the looming holiday. You know the majority of our planet is is shrouded in pitched Blackness because you know the deepest parts of the ocean. You know light can't reach and the ocean covers most of the planet. So really, when you think about it, we are a planet of Darkness. You know yeah not at all creepy that wasn't meant to be as like. I wasn't trying to make that sound as profound as it may be. It'S like more of a scientific fact the stairs on each side of the bridge. I think I did one of them. I'M pretty sure this God, these red barrels that I can't destroy. Not yet at least or I don't know - I don't know - maybe you just can't maybe they're decorative red barrels yeah. They provide the implication of an explosion. Informer shows YouTube channel, yeah yeah we're ready to have some it's snowing. So you know it fits the time of year uh. I don't know if Silent Hill explicitly takes place in like December. Do we have any idea? What like the date is of like silent Hill's story? That'S a good question. I I don't know, is Silent Hill secretly, a Christmas game, that's kind of what I want to know like what. If it was like Christmas Eve like maybe they were like Harry and Cheryl, is his daughter right, uh Cheryl, yeah yeah, like maybe they were driving to like a family gathering for Christmas and that's when everything fell apart and this is happening so who can say yeah, There'S simply no way, no, let's see so we are on the other side of town now, right yeah do I have. I have a map already right. I saw there's a mall. I think Sagan Street police Town Center, okay, um Hospital, Duke Faison, to say I need to make sure I check the stairs on both sides of the bridge. I don't know if I've already missed some or what okay. I saw a hospital on the map and that's got ta, be where you're gon na find those creepy nurses right like that is one of the few things I know about Silent Hill. Is I've seen the scary nurses yeah? That'S for sure what they live? All right. Ammo, okay, okay, all right, I checked all four stairs. I think. That'S it yeah! Don'T we have hundreds of ammo? No, I'm remembering like we're pretty we're pretty wow strapping on ammo yeah we're uh uh uh yeah. I have 160 bullets, which makes me feel like I'm in pretty good shape to yeah and I'm not gon na be flipping here. I I love them, but, like I always sell, like even uh yeah, one of the reasons running late is because I was I went and got like lunch and um at, like, I don't know like 1 30 or something and then Marcus messaged me it's like uh Are we streaming? I was like what what are you talking about uh, but one of the things I was also doing while I was grabbing lunch was just like picking up a couple, a couple last minute things you know uh. The snow has been insane here in Minnesota, so there was like no shouldn't be driving yesterday, uh, which maybe I would have gone yesterday, but okay, my mom growing up my mom was the sort of Shopper where she did it like months in advance so like she Would have presents in her closet in like October, basically so she's a smart woman who plans ahead yeah yeah pretty much very much so uh. I have. I don't want to fight these dogs, but I think that's the door. Let'S see yeah just talking out loud. No, I was gon na, say: uh Zang Master, asking the uh the important questions here. What'S the best game set during Christmas man, I mean the first you got to make the list of games set during Christmas, which not a ton off the off the top of my head. Would The Last of Us count because one of the chapters is like winter? So, like yeah, you could say that Christmas happened at some point. I don't know if, like I wonder, if, like the world of The Last of Us, still celebrates Christmas like recognizes it, or did they just say, like man yeah this, this died with the uh, the epitome, no one's happy. Well, let's we don't even want to pretend to be happy on December 25th. I'M trying to remember because the beginning of last was part, two is also winter right and they they are having like a celebration. I don't know if it's like Christmas, what's happening here. I work at this Hospital, so maybe you can tell me what's going on, I really can't say it's wild, but I was too rendered portion of this. Cutscene is so small. It was like this. What kind of doctor is this and it's snowing out this time of year? Oh, is there nothing's gone serious? Are they implying that it's like summertime? Did you see those monsters? Oh, I don't know he was like this time of year. Such aberrations July 17th, ever even heard of such things. Today'S Fourth of July, actually, you and I both know supposed to be at a barbecue right now. Yeah, have you seen a little girl anywhere, so we met from my daughter. We met the cop who was like only seven a normal person, and this is like the first Norm. Other normal person we've met. Did you notice that, for when he's describing his daughter, one of the descriptors was short and it's like Yuri, told me, she's, seven years old like that? That probably goes without saying right, oh no, I didn't mean, and then, if you want to extrapolate that she's short for her age, it's like that does nothing like that. Doesn'T help like you just need to know that she's child size. You know it's just me and my six foot two seven-year-old daughter. I see I'm sorry, I see I'm just great wait. You'Re just gon na go well I'd better, be going shouldn't. We be sticking together in this crisis. That'S such a silent hill thing! Good luck! Right! There you meet someone and then you're like well guess we're each on our own. It'S like why just stick together like what are you doing here? You guys are the only handful of people, it's in your best interest, and maybe nothing group up here, uh, nothing unusual! Nothing helpful, nothing unusual, just nothing, so I think I think I saw a map. Hopefully this door opens. I don't want to make that mistake again where I don't grab the map right away right, you think that's a big case for all the major buildings is the match just right at the entrance. Oh, I hope so. I don't have a map see. This is already screwing me up, wait right there. What'S that I don't know okay, because I thought that was like. Let me see off. Kaufman doesn't have oh, that looks like uh, okay, yeah, that's what I think is the map and what I did is. I went in this room and then we had the cut scene and uh okay. So let me this is probably the right door. I just went out the wrong door, so what did what did Kaufman actually like do for you there other than say yeah. I exist. Sorry about your kid, I'm out, I don't know, I mean we'll meet him again right. I I I, I assume, he's a named character so that just I assume he'll show up yeah but yeah I was like did he. I was thinking about that conversation like what did he actually give us that we didn't know or would assume like he's. Just kind of reiterated, like things are weird right now, all right, bye, yeah, I'm a doctor, hello, I'm a doctor goodbye. I guess you know it. It sort of dictates it like. We know we're not like the only ones here right, we're not like it's not just us and that crazy church, lady, the cop lady, too, I mean right, like you kind of end up in Silent Hill. If you have some personal issue right, you don't you're, not someone who just stumbles into silent hill and it's like, oh, I got lost well. I assumed everyone here lives here. Well, I, like everyone, we've met as a resident, maybe but like for whatever I I mean. I think even like thematically like I just don't it it's this like metaphor for, like you know, human struggle um, so I think if you're like there, then you have something you're trying to deal with right and maybe we'll find out. Dr Kaufman's, at some point like a silent hill, just the uh, the Bermuda Triangle of video games, yeah kind of from what I know about it, drift into it, and never to be seen again because, like my expertise, is really only Silent Hill too, and like a Big part of that game is like you kind of learn. You meet a handful of people and over the course of the game, you learn that they have their own issues that made them end up there. Just like you, you know, yeah she's, saying Silent Hill could be solved with therapy all right, so we're back. I like that this, at least this map, at least from what we're seeing this looks a lot simpler than the school, which makes me happy yeah. It'S smaller right, yeah. So, let's I mean my approach as it is with all these games is or all these with Silent Hill is like just start checking doors. You know, let's yeah, lock off doors like that uh. I want to see a scary nurse jump out and try to cut your head off. I'M excited Lazarus orange says: there's a silent hill inside all of us. Sadly, yes, we're all little bless you. There is a hospital basement map. Oh that's! A separate map. Okay, all right, okay, we know there's a basement now. This is like the brake lounge or something yeah. Where are we what's this place doctor's office? So I want to head hit the door. That'S like right behind. Let'S see, okay conference room, look key! Yes, please basement key basement map basement key. I think I know making good progress already. Look at us don't want to make any assumptions, but I think I got ta head to the basement. It'Ll be Kaufman there to tell you that you are indeed in the basement and then he'll leave. I got ta find another poem on how to kill the boss uh. I want to know the narrative reason, for that I mean I guess Silent Hill is weird, doesn't have to explain itself, but it's like someone encountered that thing and then wrote a book about like how to kill it, but didn't bother killing it. Well, honestly, I, like I said, like people, I think silent, Hill's, a hell that sort of develops around a psyche right like it's like an issue so like I think maybe that was like someone read that childhood poem and it manifested into a real thing. You know, I don't think it's like a monster that they found. I think it was a monster that was created. I'M making a lot of assumptions here, but you don't think so. Silent Hill is a real place, though, like it is a physical town that you can visit, but is it the whatever weirdness is blanking the town? Does it sort of like Silent Hill manifests differently for you, depending on your issues, but it is a physical place that we can all visit. Yes, I I think I think that's right yeah like because you can go there and you can meet other people within it, but with the how. But I think it responds to you individually, seemingly only negative emotion like what, if a dude that was just like very happy content with his life, no problems just went to Silent Hill. Would you still be terrorized they're with the town just be normal for him yeah? I don't know it's just Sunshine: rainbows they're, like we got nothing for this guy, he's a little too clean for us, no baggage, a glass file. Oh that's! Oh I'm sure! That'S just fruit punch right! It'S not just broken. It looks smart. It looks smashed on purpose. I'Ll stick right on top of that, Dr Kaufman did that? Oh, I don't need to see it again. I got it yeah, don't step on that. Harry books are scattered around the desk. Nothing else special here, look at that. He is so non-plussed about everything. He'S like this is nothing's cool. I don't care about anything, there's nothing interesting. Why would I even waste my time I mean I guess in his defense anything that is not his daughter. He has no interest in yeah. I suppose yeah hello, Commander cool. It'S like happy people go to loud Valley. Is that, like the town next door to Silent Hill, wild Town, wild Valley, so Duke Faison, this is maybe too intense a clue. But at the same time, I don't think I would have connected these dots at least not for a while. Now what do we now do? We have here. Look it's funny because I feel like that's one of those puzzles that you wouldn't think to do that until you found the thing that you need that for later to where you would start like the wheels would turn of like. Oh, I maybe need a liquid. Oh, I found a liquid before, but if we're doing this out of order like in context, Mason has no reason to want to collect this. Yes, because like why, you know he's like yeah, I guess I'll just take the sample, because I don't know I mean yeah like uh. I, like I like I kind of like. Oh, is that too much of a hint, because maybe we would have realized we needed the liquid later, but then I would have been like what room had that liquid? I remember you know one of those yeah I mean a lot of video game. Puzzles are like that anyway, like there's been so many times where like in games like you know, you enter a room and you just start moving things around and you're like I don't. Even know what the end game is, but clearly I need to do this thing, there's something here: yeah yeah and I think about that of like realistically. Why would I be doing this? If I don't even know what I'm doing this for, but I know just because of video games, this is going to lead to something yeah like the camera angle, there again uh. Oh, your Spider Sense is going off. Oh more roaches, speaking Miles Morales. We need to get him in silent. Now, God I watched uh, I was just randomly thinking I was like man miles - would be a good, a good game to just play again because it's not super long. You know for like a Christmas game. It'S like just play through it. Yeah show it to your family, be like you tell them that you're gon na put on spider-verse and you play Miles Morales instead and see how long it takes them to realize. This is not oh, take my family half a second we're. We'Ve watched, spider, verse so many times I watched some of it last night, so good that was gosh when that movie came out. Oh, I missed the prompter when that movie came out in theaters. We went and saw it as a family and like we literally came home and we're like, should we just go right back to the theater and watch that again like we? Can we really considered it of just going and seeing it twice in one day, I'd love that movie. So much like that, you didn't have that discussion. Just in the theater before you left yeah, he went all the way home, uh yeah. I think I saw it like because I kept taking family members and stuff too. I think I saw it in theater. I think I saw it four times. I think I saw in theaters because do you like going out of your way to be like you have to see this yeah? I will. I will take you to see this. Yes, oh yeah. I think it's like one of the most interesting visually. Just stunning movies of like the last 30 years, you know yeah, I um when I saw it in theaters opening weekend. I have a Miles Morales shirt like it's basically like his spider suit, but as a t-shirt, yeah I've worn it on stuff before but um. I was walking up to my seat and there was this little kid with like his dad and he sees me and he's just his face, just lights up and he goes Dad it's Miles Morales. That'S awesome because my hair is like my hair is similar enough. Yeah and I felt like I don't think I've ever received a better compliment. I know that's awesome. You were like hell yeah. I am let's watch my movie. I hope you, like my uh, my biography, that you're about to watch. Let'S do this one more time, so I turned on a generator. I got an elevator okay, I didn't think the elevator would work. I just assumed it wouldn't work for some reason. I like the idea that this is a puzzle, but it's really just a normal elevator. Yeah interface she's asking where you want to go. I'Ve already been here, but I just want to just want to clear it out. You know there's a couple of doors I haven't checked yet so yeah no rush make sure you know cover all your bases Set. Uh get some puzzle items preemptively. You can fill some plastic bottles with the red goop. He touched that with his hands too. He didn't put on gloves. He just yeah willingly touched a blood-like substance and was like this is fine. It'S just a hospital. What do they have here? Exactly all right, let's see, let's see, let's see, hospitals have to be up there of like the scariest kinds of abandoned buildings that you could possibly explore between, like a prison is probably number one, but I think a hospital might be behind it. Yeah, probably oh school was pretty uh pretty good too in terms of just like places. Uh you, you don't really want to be when they're not functioning or haunted. You know, especially like elementary schools like it's, it's weird, how in the daytime, when they're active it's like the happiest place, you could be with all the colors and drawing and stuff like that. But the moment the lights go out and it's quiet those same like decorations. Look terrifying suddenly, like you see a kid's messed up looking drawing, and it just looks like this weird, like scary creature, gosh, I need like a, I think, uh I was thinking it's like I kind of wish. I had an on-screen map like a little mini map. Oh, like a mini map yeah, but at the same time, though, this game is like so focused on atmosphere could be distract because you know like even a lot of games that have mini Maps. I hate when I find myself looking more at the minimap than the actual game. You know, and I have to break myself of like I want this to feel more organic where I'm going down to Corridor and not just like all right. I see a left coming better go there. I feel like I feel like if I had like an ammo counter and a map, I just it, wouldn't feel right, yeah anything like dead space or like diegetic interface like we need to be able to see everything on Mason's person yeah, you know like she needs To pull up the map and he needs to physically hold it, and you just peek at it from over his shoulder, like uh alone in the dark, the I don't remember what year it was, I want to say, like 2006, Maybe yeah they tried to like do That they had some idea, they had some real ideas in that game, one of which was like opening your jacket and looking down to like see all your sort of inventory. You know without having to go into an inventory screen. Yeah, that's the that's the alone in the dark that has the the line. That'S like a meme. Now, where he's like, I don't have your stone and F you anyway, yeah. I think it's like one of the one of the endings man. Yes, the only thing I know about that game. I I have affection for that game because uh, a lot of it doesn't work, but they really swung for some big things in that game that I really appreciate like they didn't work, but damn it they tried like one of those type of games. You know that, oh, it was 2008, of course that would. I would genuinely be open to like playing that like this, like a replay, you know like playing through that alone in the dark, because it's so weird we have that power Kyle. I know that's I'm just I'm throwing it out there, that's like an option. If that would be one that people would not see, but I don't know it might be too Niche. I think it might be too Niche yeah. Let us know chat if that sounds interesting, but um. It reminded me that they announced a new one. This year, yeah they're remaking the original right or yeah. I guess it's a remake yeah I've never played the only one I've played is that one is that one that came out 2007. We decided yeah, which probably a lot of fans, would scream at that idea of, like that's your only frame of reference. I'M sorry, I've! Never played any of them either, but as a horror fan, I'm interested in it uh. So that's why I was pretty jazzed about the Remake. When I went to Tokyo game show they had a big booth for it, uh that looked like a haunted house uh, but I don't believe it was playable. I think you just kind of went in there and watched like a video or something so, oh so they have like there's footage of it right. Is it public? Is there a trailer? I mean there was the announce Trail. I don't know if they have it out. More sense, I need to watch that I've got that I'm trying to see if I have any puzzle items. Okay Master is saying we need to play. Tomba 2 for replay I'd be up for that I've. I'Ve only dabbled with Tomba Tomba Tomba. I, like Tomba, those games are hard. Actually I have both of them at least they're, tough, okay, interesting yeah, they're good, but they're they're hard um. I have tombow one and two on my PS3 because they had them on as PS1 Classics. Oh yeah uh. So I do have them. I would just have to go through the Hoops of streaming on a PS3 which, if anyone's ever tried it it's not it's not the easiest thing in the world to set up. I I have additional yeah like Splitters and equipment to sort of strip the hdcp stuff you might be able to still buy it because they kept the store up after everyone freaked out about them. Closing it that's what I was just about to ask. I was like you know what maybe I should like go and buy a bunch of those PlayStation games, because I feel like this is still like the best way to play them. You know it's like on the PS3 like this see. I do have a backwards. I have a backwards compatible, PS3, one of those rare ones. That'S like one of the the launch model ones yeah like I have one that, like I just don't like I'm not using it now, because I don't want it to break you know like I do. I don't want it to mess up or anything, so I'm like very cautious with it. I want to use it sparingly, you know, keep it in a nice temperature controlled. I mean it's literally in a glass case like I'm not even kidding. I have a glass always like consoles. I have like a virtual boy in there and like uh, oh nice, and that PS3 and like a a Halo translucent like just stuff that my wife and I have collected for like the last 20 years or something I want to get one of those from like Ikea because I have enough, like all my consoles - are in boxes and like a an extra closet that I have and I bought a Japanese famicom when I was in Japan. Oh very cool yeah, with a couple uh, Japanese, copies of both versions of Mario 2 and then Mario 3.. Oh man, like purely for display purposes. I just need to get like the case for it. Do you have Doki Doki Panic? Is that what you have or do you have, Mario? No, no! It'S like it's uh, it's Mario too, but you know in Japan. They label it Mario to USA, right okay, like our version they did have they. I did see. Look just plain: Doki Doki Panic. There, though, because that I I almost bought it back uh back in the olden days of my first 10-yard game informer. That was one I remember talking to Jeff cork about like let's, let's do that, let's play Doki Doki Panic like I've, never actually seen like a ton of gameplay of that game. You know, I think it would be wild to like play through it yeah. I would especially because I love Mario too so it'd be cool to yeah, like what the original Vision, if you will see chain whipping asking if anyone at game former US has a PS4 with PT on it, I do not anymore. Unfortunately, I Blake does. We know Blake does yeah, Blake does or I guess technically he said is he gave it to his mom. So technically his mom owns it now, but he has access to it. Yeah point: do you Kyle or no? I don't I played through it really enjoyed it and hit a point where I was like. I'M never gon na play this again I'll just delete it, and I don't really regret that decision. I'Ve. Never I never was going to play it again, but it would have been nice to at least have it available like as a museum piece, almost yeah okay. So I I I'm sort of uh wandering here. I I don't know where to go. I'M basically Duke has a hint level zero asking how many floors your map, how many floors are on the map? Uh four, I have the basement and I have one and two and three yeah. I don't know where this hint is and you're going. When I go to the second floor and the third floor in the elevator I get blocked, I cannot explore further than that. Yeah Duke says check the elevator. Oh, you know what I wonder. I wonder if I can like stop the elevator hear that what is that there's a generator? I think that sounded like that's the generator, that's okay, that sounds demonic, so I'm in the basement. I can't turn on my flashlight um, but by the they're, so quick that uh they go away. This is like we're in like this looks like salad, Hill right. This is like the weird. Are you in the alternate Dimension yeah? I I like that again, the implication that what you were in before wasn't creepy already. Like you know this is this: is the scary version Creator, gaming, hello? God? Is it it's funny that I find it scary to explore without a map, because I'm like what, if I can't find my way back, I mean that's like real life. I'D be. It is a little nerve-wracking to go to a new place and have no war of guidance whatsoever. You know, I always think back to like, because you know we haven't. You know the age of GPS hasn't been around that long. Like you know, you, and I are very much old enough - and most people watching this probably are two to remember a time when, like pre, Google Maps free MapQuest of like nope, you just got the little big fold-out map when you're like on a road trip or Something and you just have to decipher that mess yeah. Oh, this is creepy. I used to be as Boy Scout. I have to get a orienteering mayor badge and that we had to you know, learn the purest form of guidance of like looking to the stars and knowing the position of the sun, but tell the time of day and all that stuff Pro yeah. I could not do it now. I had forgotten most of all that that's a nurse. Oh, oh, okay, let me say snake either sub. I hope you stay warm too. Hopefully, Harry can stay warm, but oh there's something on her back ew that didn't get. That did not look like a monster that just looked like a normal woman trying to do her job. Is that the ladies room? I don't know why you're trying to go in there anyway, the more uh teleporting bathrooms see. This would freak me out. I mean most of this game would freak me out as a kid, but this level especially like how dark it is, and just the amazing uh sound design yeah like really making me jump with every clang and bang, and here are some dryers you uh. She reminds me of the dryer or a puzzle in Visage. No, I haven't good good, don't no! No! No! I said it's good. Oh, I thought you were. You should play it. This? Is all we've rebuilt the entire world, but like a dark version of it and they're, both in the same game and it's not going to catch fire when you turn your switch on? If anyone can do it, it's gon na be the Zelda team. You know I mean I breath wild itself is still pretty unmatched in terms of technical prowess.
