Hey guys welcome back to my channel and in today's video we are going to be seeing whether I got heat damage from my silk press. I'M going to be taking you guys through my entire wash day routine. I have an entire plan of how I'm gon na get my curls to come back fully. No heat damage, no limpness, no, nothing go back to their original Glory. So, if you're interested in that keep watching before we get started, make sure if you like this video, give me a thumbs up click the Subscribe button. Put those notifications on just want to say thank you guys so much for 200k subscribers. I cannot believe we've grown so much in such a little amount of time. I appreciate you guys so much, and so I'm really doing my best to make sure I'm being consistent for you guys. Also, if you enjoy me, my personality go check out my other social media platforms for daily content and, finally, all my hair products will be restarted on January 20th. So if you're interested definitely stay tuned and check out the website, alrighty guys, let's get started. If you guys watched my suppress video, you know I still press my hair over vlogmas. That was the first time I ever suppressed my hair in an entire year. Y'All know. Last year I had a whole big situation on my silk press. The lady cut a lot of my hair off, and so this year I decided to do my own silk press and it went okay didn't come out as great as I wanted it to be, but it wasn't that bad. Basically, my hair just kind of been chilling. I'Ve been doing a bunch of different things with it um I even posted you know one or two videos or just different styles. I was able to do, but now it's time to wash it because it's been like a month, my hair's been slicked back for a couple days. I used some gel, so you can already see that my hair is slightly reverting already from using that gel on the top of my hair and I'm like pretty confident I did not get heat damage because I know how my hair works with heat. I told you guys all the time he did nothing to be afraid of as long as you know how your hair works with it. Okay, so I'm actually gon na do my wash day a little bit differently again, just to make sure that my curls come back in full force. I'M want to be doing a bentonite clay mask to start off. This is going to be a pre-poo slash my cleansing for this wash day. Typically, when you do bentonite clay mask, it really helps to rejuvenate your curls. A lot of people do them when their hair just been feeling very limp and not as defined as they want. So it's going to bring in a lot of moisture a lot of definition. It'S going to really like just bring my curls back to life, so let me show you guys how we're going to make it okay. So I'm going to be using this bowl that I use when I bleach the knots on my wigs and so we're gon na use some bentonite clay. You can get this from Walmart Amazon, a bunch of different places, it's very similar to the Aztec clay mask. Basically, it's the same thing if you're familiar with that, and so we're just going to pour a good amount into this bowl. Honestly, don't underestimate how much you use! I actually had to go back and make some more. I think I used about half of this jar with all the hair I have so that should give you like a good estimate. Then we're gon na get some apple, cider vinegar. You can get this at Walmart in the vinegar section. You want to make sure that it has the mother in it make sure it says that that's all the like gunky stuff, that's floating at the bottom. That'S the good stuff that you want to get into your hair, and so you just want to shake it really. Well, before you add it to the clay and when you add it, it's going to foam a little bit and that's perfectly fine. It'S a perfectly normal reaction, then you're just gon na mix the two together until everything's smooth and there's no like clumps or chunks. So obviously this is way too thick to apply to your hair. The key to getting this to be really easy. Is you want it to be a super loose consistency, because I'm telling you if it's too thick it's going to be really really hard to apply to your hair? Also, I forgot to mention you: don't want to use any metal utensils or Bowls, because it will mess with the properties of the bentonite clay and you won't get the best results from using this mask. So most of you guys are probably like. Okay. This is the perfect consistency, but honestly y'all. This is still too thick, so I'm gon na apply some more apple, cider, vinegar and really mix that in I'm telling y'all. If this is too thick you're just gon na make it hard for yourself like this right here. I'M telling you it's still too thick, at least for me, so I'm gon na add some more apple, cider, vinegar and see I started spilling it. That'S how I knew I was getting close to the consistency I wanted. You wanted to be able to drip off the spoon like this. This is perfect. This is exactly what you want. Okay, so I went ahead and just changed into like the oldest t-shirt. I could find because it does get pretty messy. I also got this really old. Towel that I never used so it's perfect. This isn't going to stain your clothing or anything, but it's like. Why would you get like a nice shirt dirty when you don't have to what I'm gon na do is just split my hair into four sections per usual? I feel like um after years of doing this, my hair just kind of naturally splits into the sections just because it's used to it. I guess the back of my hair is a lot thicker than the front, so I always like to split the back section of my hair in half, so I can do like the bottom half and the top half. So the first thing I'm going to do is I'm actually going to spray my hair with some water first, just to dampen it again. This stuff can get very hard to apply if it gets. You know too thick. So even I made the consistency kind of loose still to make it easy to apply. I'M gon na just spray, my hair, some water, you guys are always curious about where I get this uh water bottle. This is a PR thing that came with my red air, but I'm pretty sure I found one on Amazon so I'll leave that Linked In my Amazon storefront, which is always in my description. Okay, so I'm just gon na wet my hair with water. I love this spray bottle also make sure I'm getting my roots too. Okay, then I'm just going to take some of the mixture and we're just going to apply it to my hair kind of like. If you apply hair dye, I mean you could really take your hands and apply it, but I this is really messy, so I don't want to get it all over my hands. If I don't have to this doesn't smell the best, it doesn't stink, but it definitely doesn't smell the best. So we're gon na apply all of my hair and you want to make sure that you're getting it on your scalp as well and massaging it in your scalp. This is going to cleanse your scalp, I'm not going to use any shampoo, because I'm not going to need to like that's how good my hair is really want to work it through work. The product through you can already see my ends are starting to curl up. So that's a great sign because most people who get heat damaged they're and they seem to be straight while their Roots revert. So that's perfect all right and that's it so we're just gon na keep applying it on each section, making sure we're getting it from Roots to ends literally putting this on your scalp, you guys bentonite clay is a detoxifier. So it's going to detoxify your scalp, which is why again, I'm not going to meet to use shampoo. I'M talking crazy somebody's face happy birthday! Thank you. Thank you. Okay, so I'm officially done applying this mask. It really just took like 10 minutes. It wasn't even that long. I just broke up my session just so I can make sure I get every single part of my scalp as well as like every single part of my hair, my roots, everything. So, as you can see, though, this mask is weighing my hair down, because it's pretty heavy you can see, you can see like my curls are starting to come back. See, look at that! Curl pattern is already starting to pop okay, so fun fact this is actually very, very good for your skin as well. I used to use this as a face mask all the time before I started buying my products. I used to make a lot of DIY skincare products, so I'm actually going to use the rest of this and just put on my face, so it doesn't go to waste. You know what I really gave up on this brush a long time ago, so we're just gon na take it out my hand, and you can apply it to my face. This is going to leave your face, looking feeling so bright, so detoxified shiny whatever I literally used to use this all the time. So, oh one thing I will say that apple cider, vinegar is making my eyes water a little bit. It'S kind of strong and then I'm just gon na apply the erase to my hair because, like I'll have to just throw this away. So I don't want to throw it away just those last little bits, I'm actually gon na dunk, my hair in the bowl and just kind of rub it around there get the rest of that out. I'M ready to go on a date for about 30 minutes um. There'S really no set times and let's sit in one time. I let this end for like five hours, and it was perfectly fine, so the math is going to harden so it will get really hard, especially on your face, like it's gon na be hard to smile and stuff. So the same thing's gon na happen with your hair. Again, it's okay, if you rinse it out before it hardens and all that, but we're gon na leave it in and I'm gon na come back and show you guys what it looks like after. Let'S just say: half an hour only been a couple of minutes, but I just wanted to show you guys how my curls are really springing back to life and getting that definition like it's very clear, I do not have any damage. Look at that. That'S my natural texture coming back coils and everything. So I'm not that concerned. Okay, yeah guys. So it's been about 30 minutes and this mask is hardened. I can barely move my mouth. You can see it's like cracking like it's Clay, so it you know, gets hard. Um, you can clearly see that my hair is basically reverted um, it's a little bit looser than it normally is because again the mask is weighing my hair down, but it's it's. I don't have any damage so now we're gon na go in the shower and we're gon na rinse my hair off, and we are going to finish this wash day. Okay time for our super transparent influencer moment, I wash my hair hot water y'all, I'm sorry, but I like to wash my hair in the shower. I cannot take no lukewarm cold shower. It don't work for me, so I'm using hot water to rinse this out. You can use whatever you want. The only thing I would say is: don't use cold water washing your hair, okay, that's bad, but it's okay. My hair is fine, but DLC. All that definition, my hair looks amazing. It looks super shiny, it looks the fun it looks. Healthy and juicy like, I cannot believe that people were telling me. I was going to get heat damage. Look how good my hair looks my parties, then I made the dumb decision to rinse the mask off my face like this. This was honestly very, very stupid because I got it all up. My nose and I had to cough and my eyes were watering, and that was just very dumb on my part, but do y'all see how good this mask looks on my skin. I didn't get it all, but I'm telling y'all I used to use this all the time. It'S a great, cheap way to get really really nice skin and the definition of my hair. Are you kidding me? My hair looks absolutely amazing. Please enjoy the next 10 seconds of me doing my. I Told You So dance to the people that were me now, I'm about to make an Instagram story. And yes, I do watch my own YouTube videos back. It'S not a vanity thing. Okay, it's just to help me make better content. I'M gon na move straight into deep conditioning because the mask has already cleansed my hair, so I'm gon na try this new deep conditioner. I got this brand catered to White hair, but I mean their deep conditioner. Looked pretty thick, so I was like, let's give it a try. Y'All know I definition with oil, so we're gon na go in with this meal. Organics, hair oil - if you have not been following me on Tick, Tock and Instagram y'all know all the drama that's been surrounding this company. I might have to make a dedicated YouTube video on it. If y'all want me to do that, I will because they're not even black owned anymore. It'S just a whole bunch of Dramas, so I'll come with receipts. But just let me know if y'all want that video, because I can definitely get that to y'all. Thank you again. Daddy'S home, so another dumb thing I did is, I totally forgot about detangling my hair honestly. I should have detangled my hair before applying the bentonite clay mask when it was in like that straightened State, because it made things a lot easier, but we're here now. So I'm just gon na take my easy detangling brush and detangle. Thankfully I have this brush because it took me only like 10 minutes to detangle all of my hair, because again it wasn't super Tangled because it's been straightened. It just had shed hair that had to get out. So that's why I wanted to go ahead and just remove that and that's all that came out. I'M pretty sure some came out when I was applying the mask and stuff so like I'm pretty sure it's more than that. But honestly, I don't even think it's that bad okay guys. So it's been about a day since y'all saw that last clip, which means that I deep condition overnight. I know some of y'all are just shaking in your boots over that, but I'm gon na just say like this: I've always deep conditioned overnight since I've been natural for five years and I'm probably gon na. Do it for five more never had a problem with it. One thing about me: I have washed weeks, I don't have wash days. I need at least three to five business days to complete my hair, so this is what works. Let me just take this down and show you guys. So this is how I deconution a lot of people. Ask me so I always have my Bonnets and then my scarf. Both of these are on my Amazon storefront and then I use my regular schmegular Walmart bag. I throw all my Walmart bags away. I had to scrape to find this one, so I'm touching it it's like warm to the touch, which means that all that stuff I had on my head really had a lot of heat trapped onto my hair. To really help me get a good deep conditioning because your girl does not like sitting under the dryer. Never have never will so. Oh okay, oh my hair smells so good. This smells really good. Okay, let's take a closer look, so y'all can see. My hair has fully reverted from Roots to ends. Everything is completely back and the shrinkage is real okay. So what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na go and rinse this out with some cold water, and I'm gon na be back to show you guys how I moisturize my hair and I think, that'll, be it okay. So all the deep conditioner has been rinsed out. My hair smells so good right now, but I'm really irritated at the shrinkage. I cannot stand it. This is literally what my wash and go would look like, but more defined and my hair is waistline. So now we're going to go ahead and moisturize my hair, so I'm gon na do is I'm gon na split my hair into four sections, and this is what this is, how I moisturize my hair every single time I wash it, except when I do a silk Press like doesn't matter if I'm doing braids braids wigs whatever it does not matter. This is always how I do my hair and can y'all see this. Look how disrespectful this is bro. I cannot wait. It'S growing back a little bit, but still it's kind of disrespectful. Okay and like always, I'm gon na split the back into two sections: okay, so first things first, I always go in with a leave-in conditioner. So I'm just going to go in with this. Is my leave-in conditioner from the main choice they're a shield hydration line? It'S probably like one of my top 10 leave-ins. It'S not like my absolute favorite, but it's a good leave-in conditioner. I don't use a lot um. I used to be super heavy-handed when it came to products, but I realize I don't really need to be as long as you just apply all the products thoroughly from Roots to ends making sure you're not missing any spots, which is why I split my hair. In half and then I'm going to go in with my hair butter, which has and always will be the number one product that I use in my hair. So I'm going to be using I'm going to be using the original hair butter today, which is a whipped consistency. So if you buy it, this is what it will look like. It'Ll come in this container with this type of label. It just will say the original on it, but this is one of my older ones. I was like, let me know what you say. Let me just finish using, so this is what I'm going to use. As you can see, it's a super soft and creamy consistency. Ignore the hair, I said, maybe a dime size amount. You really don't need a lot of this and just gon na apply that on top of the leave-in conditioner and what this is going to do is this is going to lock moisture into the my hair. So all that hydration from that leave-in conditioner just going to make sure that it stays in my hair and doesn't my hair doesn't get dry super quick, and so this is what my twist looks like super shiny, defined hydrated. So I'm basically just going to repeat this. On the rest of my hair, the noise all right, and so that is really it for moisturizing, my hair. If you watch my secret to moisturize Hair video that I think I posted a couple months ago, you will know that what I just did will keep my hair moisturized for a couple weeks weeks. So I will not need to put any products on my hair until sometime in February and by the time it comes around where I need to put something in my hair it'll be time to wash it again. So this is the only time I'm gon na need to touch my hair again until I wash it that is it for this video. So I'm pretty sure. We'Ve all come to the conclusion that I do not have any damage. My silk press did not ruin my hair damage. My hair is perfectly fine healthy hydrated, My Curls are topping. I still have my definition and everything's. Okay, like I said in my silk press, video heat is not a scary thing. You don't have to be afraid of it. You just have to know how to use it for your hair, how your hair responds to heat and once you're able to do that. You are perfectly fine and don't have to be nervous about putting any type of heat on your hair, alright guys. I hope you enjoyed this video if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below make sure that if you like this video, give it a thumbs up click the Subscribe button put your notifications on, so you get notified every single time.
