Welcome to the hair color breakdown hosted by Yours, Truly changing your hair can be one of the most satisfying things that you can do. Trust me. I tried it over 150 times, but while the anticipation and the joy of changing your hair color never wears off, there might be a few times where you look at yourself in the mirror, for the final reveal and think to yourself what the actual the color may Not be what you expected, your hair might be way more damaged than you wanted it to be, or it just genuinely does not suit You, So to avoid disappointment and a potential meltdown after your hair change. Here are the top 5 worst hair colors that you definitely shouldn't try told to you by someone who absolutely tried them all and learned the hard way. My name is Stella and I dye my hair approximately every three weeks and I have done so for the past. Eight years of my life, I tried virtually every single color out there, because I genuinely enjoyed the thrill of saying I tried every single color out there and while I enjoy the process very much, I enjoy being a guinea pig. There have definitely been times in my life where I am not entirely satisfied and that's me putting it very nicely with the end color results and while normally I am absolutely fine with that, because I know that in three weeks time I will be changing it once Again, I know that that is not the likelihood for most people and when someone commits to dying their hair, because it is a big deal at the end of the day that color better then be very, very nice. It better be the color of their dreams, and so, while there are many many many many many many gorgeous beautiful, Lush vibrant colors for you to try. There are definitely some that fall into the top worst hair colors to try. So while I can't give you a breakdown of all the hair colors, to avoid here are the top five worst hair colors that you should avoid as much as you can, let's go at number five, the worst hair color that you can have is a split dye. It honestly makes my heart to put this one on the list, because it was one of the most gorgeous and most rewarding hair colors that I ever tried and it genuinely couldn't, have gotten more compliments because it was such a unique and noticeable hairstyle. This hair colors ended up being one of the most stunning hair colors ever in the beginning, and I'm I'm I'm happy to have tried it. But this one is definitely one that I will not be revisiting, at least not on my own hair, because while it was one of the most stunning and gorgeous hair colors, it was the most difficult in terms of styling. I want to rank all these hair colors based on three different attributes or features color payoff, stylability and Longevity. This hair color had a beautiful, color payoff like this, the minute I washed it and I styled it. I was like holy [ __ ]. This is one of the most stunning and interesting hair colors that I ever tried. It was definitely a unique one. It definitely takes a kind of bold and creative person to rock it, but once you're there you're there, but the problem with having something like split dies comes to the style ability when you're combining more than two colors on your hair. It immediately becomes a lot more difficult to style. I tend to wear a lot more neutral tones on my clothing because I like to have my pop of color, be my hair, even something as simple as wearing like different types of denim and like leggings or whatever? Is immediately going to clash, and it was one of the most difficult things for me to style - clothing wise. That is not even to mention the haircut that I then decided to try with it. Had I left it long bob or had I had its own extensions. I guarantee it would have been a lot more fun or a lot more easy to style, because I decided to Edge it up a bit and go for kind of this layered short bob with The Fringe. Any time I didn't actively style it. The hair looked Extremely Goofy, it was, it was a challenge. It was definitely interesting. I remember I went to a meeting once and I remember things I feel like. I don't portray importance on top of that any time, as I mentioned, that I didn't style this hair, particularly any time that I wet it. I looked bizarre genuinely in fact throughout that point it was very disappointing because I did it towards the end of summer, where I was still eager to swim, but towards that point I had stopped swimming because every time I would wet it. I looked like a a very sore sight. The hairstyle looked amazing only in an editorial setting. It was great while I was styling it on video on camera, but the reality is that the minute I took it Outdoors, it lost a bit of the appeal. Finally, the longevity of it was also catastrophic when you mix two hair colors onto your head, you have to go into it with the knowledge that there is a possibility that one of the hair colors might fade quicker than the other, and if you do that in Any other different application on your head, for instance, when you have one hair color from the root, and it ends differently. It doesn't matter as much as if one of the hair colors Fades, because it might look intentional. But when you have a split die, where the first thing that someone sees is literally the split die, it makes a ton of difference if one of them is fading. A lot quicker - and I remember my pink side - started fading so quickly, just because of the color pigments that were in the die that it started, looking very, very disproportionate very soon on. I remember I went chocolate very soon after and even that was such a headache, because you can't just apply Color onto it. You have to correct both sides so that you even out the color first and then you can put whatever other color on top of it. Overall, it was a beautiful, beautiful, hair color, but it was difficult to wear. If you want to try a split die, I would much more recommend trying it on a wig, something that you could style. Keep it beautiful, keep it long, but I wouldn't really recommend it in an everyday wear setting at number four pastels. This might come to a bit of a surprise, because pastels are one of the most beautiful hair colors that you can wear this one technically counts as it, but you might notice. This thing is on a wig. Let me explain to you the problem with pastels, the color payoff, first of all, isn't gon na be great. That is because you're not giving too much color. That is the whole point of pastels for you to even go past that your hair has to be very, very light in the first case, if it's not like I've had before in my life, if you don't lift it to a level 10 here you only get It to like a nine there's, a good chance that the color isn't going to be even as soft as you want it. It'S just going to end up looking muddy, distilled diluted, so the color payoff isn't going to be there from the beginning and it might already look messy and then it also ends up being difficult to style. If it's not done correctly or if it fades, which it will very soon, the whole color just immediately ends up looking like a faded out color that, unfortunately something you cannot avoid with pastel hair colors. Not if you go permanent, not if you go semi-permanent, it always ended up looking so washed out and messy and just boring after two washes, and it will disappoint me. It was also hard to style, because this thing was just very messy around my face. I'D have to wear a ton of makeup and then I'd have to make sure that the clothing I wear didn't accentuate the messiness of the color. The one good thing that I can say about pastel, hair colors, is that once one of them Fades out, it is incredibly easy to then go to the next, which I have done many times. So if you want to go with it with that reasoning, go for it, but if you're looking to make baby pink your brand. If that is the color that you want to stick to, I once again recommend a wig or extensions, although even those who will lose color very quickly and you have to top it up - it's not the worst hair color that you can try, but I feel like The effort that is required just to get there is not worth the end result that you end up walking out the stove doing of yourself number three. This might come to no surprise to anyone, but the third worst hair color that you can try, is green apple, green, green. I'M making that distinction very clear, because I've tried the variety of green hair, colors and green remains one of my favorite favorite hair colors. To try just because of the depth that some of them can have apple green, however, not so much. I tried apple green here once in my life, well, once in a way as well, but I tried it once on my life. I tried copying Naomi John once recreating her broccoli thing again. I should have figured it out. Showers was on long hair and it was also wig. I tried it on a short pixie, very close to my face. I wasn't too satisfied. First of all, color payoff will probably be great apple. Green is quite a bright, distinct, shade of green and so most likely you'll be able to get there. Problem is the minute there is a bit of warmth in your hair, which might have, I believe, a tiny amount around the edges of my hair. It is going to pick up a different shade of green and when you have it on short hair like I did, that is going to be very noticeable. Second Factor stylability zero Stars. If I could put the figure and the negatives I would. This was incredibly hard to style. I usually can manage to put something together. I'M not going to say my fashion style is like particularly special, but I feel like I can put something together: apple, green hair. However, just it just it tested me a bit further than I would have liked to in fact a lot of the times for the maybe two week, duration that I had Evergreen here, I wore hats constantly I just covered it either hats or wigs. I remember I barely went out with it. I didn't have the balls or the goal to go to somewhere, like a bank with it. So every time that I went out, I was wearing a hat. I was fine with it, but if you're trying it don't finally announced the longevity of it was prominent. Green hair tends to like sticking to here, but in this case, because I was so eager to just get over with it. I went over it with a really really dark combination of colors that ended up just literally just covering it, but I reckon if I wanted to go to any other different hair color. I probably would have had to use something like a bleach or color remover, because this thing actually stayed in the hair. This thing was like pigment prominent, it can be a color that is a bit hard to wear number two, the second worst hair color that you could try should now come as no surprise to anyone, because I just posted an entire video dedicated to how much you Should not get this hair color, the hair color I'm talking about is ash blonde hair. If you haven't seen the video it's going to be somewhere up here, where I dedicated an entire 16 minutes of my life dissing. This color, first of all, Ashbourne here, is a very difficult color to achieve chemical once you reach a certain level of lightness in the hair or your overcompensate, and you reach somewhere higher, there's a good chance that you've over compromised the hair, read it of every single Ounce of pigment that there was in it and ultimately fried it, it is not uncommon for you to go ash blonde and then immediately start to see your hair literally just Fray. It'S gon na feel like a Barbie hair that there was on all the dolls. It'S just very roomy, very hair, like the darker, your hair color, is on the international color chart the more difficult it is to get there and the more strain that's going to be put on your hair. So, if you're considering any shade of blonde but particularly ice white ash blonde, I would urge you to reconsider the second reason why it is one of the worst hair colors that you can try is the maintenance that goes into it. This color is not going to want to stay on your hair. It is genuinely not something that is going to stick, because it is so light, we're adding very little pigment back into it, which means it's going to come back out very quickly and also, once you lift the hair to such light levels. Your hair is going to become very porous and lose pigments very quickly. So, no matter, if you go icy, if you go more Platinum, if you go a bit silvery, it's going to need a lot of Maintenance and the most important aspect of this reasoning is stylability. One of the main points of my video of why not to get ash blonde hair is the fact that ash blonde hair virtually drains you of any color there's this concept of color bounce of a bounce board where light bounces off of whatever is next to you And reflects back on your face if I were to have no makeup on me right now. My skin right now would appear a hint of blue if this was a brighter or warmer color. My skin would appear a bit Rosier, but when you go ice, white or Ash white and you have virtually no pigment or color around you, your skin is very likely going to appear pale, Ashy and tired. If you want to try ice white, I would recommend starting on a way, get a synthetic one, get it out of your system, because it is considerably more difficult to wear than you think it is. It also leaves no room for error, so if you try it yourself or if you go to a stylist and they mess up even the tiniest bit, there's a good chance that it'll show up number one, the worst hair color to try and that you should ideally Avoid as much as you can black hair color, this one pays me to say this. One pains me to say, especially because you think I'm going to be a hypocrite, because I repeatedly dye my hair black every single year. Let'S, let's point out the the benefits of black hair, black hair or black hair dye is one of the boldest I've made videos about that right. I made it why you should dye your hair black, because it is a bold, bold color. Unlike its predecessor, the black hair will reveal nothing. It'Ll show nothing, you can screw up your hair and if you dye your black, nothing will show. In fact, that is why so many people do their own hair end up, not liking it and immediately dye their hair with black box dye, which is not ideal. A lighter shade of brown will do. Do it to level four, even a level. Five will color your mistakes still and you'll most likely be able to change it very quickly. After that black is a commitment color. Once you go black, you don't go back. That was a shitty rhyme. It'S true, though, black, because it is literally level one on the color chart, there's the darkest pigment that you can apply on your hair. It is the most difficult that you can remove from the hair. I tried it so many times I end up regretting it. Every single time I end up having to do such a complex removal, bleaching and correction process every single time that each time I'm like why the hell do I do it. The reason hair stylist will tell you, let's not go black, let's go like a level four. Let'S go like a deep Chestnut: okay: let's keep it a bit natural if you have naturally black hair, fine, perfect you've done it, it's virgin hair, but black dye is so hard to remove, and this isn't just a box size. The hairstylist will try to tell you. Oh, no, don't dye your hair with box style come to us and it'll, be much easier to remove professional dies are just as hard to remove they. They genuinely are so difficult to remove that every time I've tried they. I remember the last time that I dyed my hair fully black with Schwarzkopf with the actual Schwarzkopf color. I bleached my hair four times to get it then white four times it also stains everywhere, which I learn from experience. Even Barrier cream will not do you too much, and it is not the first time that I accidentally stained my client. It is. It is very sad it stains everywhere. It is so difficult to remove and, unfortunately, if your skin tone isn't ideal for it, which is usually when you're very, very light skinned or a bit too Rosy, it can be such a stark contrast that you end up thinking. What have I done, especially because of how difficult it now is, to remove this video felt like a my hair color journey to my hair history, I say it in every video. I love my hair colors equally, and I do I genuinely do because in the moment there is not a single one that I regret in the moment when I see it when I'm all dolled up with my nice slides and everything, I'm I've fallen off each and Every time, but there it is no secret that certain colors just don't perform that. Well, when you put them through all of these factors, when you consider longevity, when you come to their style ability, when you consider color payoff, some of them might fail one. Some of them might fail every single one of those attributes lucky for you, though, there are still many colors that you can try that I guarantee will look amazing and will take off all the right boxes. You just have to try and learn from me. Take my advice: try the colors that I recommend here. You go avoid these and you should be fine if you enjoyed this video subscribe to this channel, join the Stellar fam, let's learn a thing or two together and if you enjoyed this series, let me know what other types of hair scenarios you'd like to see. Maybe the best hair colors to try. Let me know, I'm also so excited to say that I'm launching something super amazing later on this year, actually very soon, I'm gon na shut my mouth for now, because I'm not quite yet there to reveal what I'm doing. But if you're a hair lover, if you're someone who is insanely obsessed with changing their hair as much as I am stay tuned, I put my heart and soul into launching something with so so much merit with so much thought and design and effort behind it. I can't wait. I genuinely, I cannot wait, but I can't say anymore. I hope you enjoyed this video. I hope you'll give it a go and I will see you in my next video

vanessa fabbri: Yes please a "best hair colors to try" video would be amazing.

Jinx ROSE: you somehow have the perfect face to try every hairstyle and be able to look elegante, beautiful, cute, and casually attractive when styled right- it’s crazy

Barbara Guastavino: I had a split dye with that same haircut and i loved it, the difference might be that it was black and white (Cruella style) but i didn't find it hard to style or keep up. I must add though (since white and black were your number 2 and 1 to not wear lol) that putting black on number 1 is absolutely right because i tried to remove the black side to make it blue and it went so bad that i ended up having to shave my head

Phantastic: I usually love the pastels from faded colors, but would probably never do pastels intentionally. And please, a "best colors" would be awesome. (Orange/peach/coral really should be on that list)

Shade: Ugh I had split dye blonde and black hair and the black side was ULTRA damaged since I put permanent black box dye over previously bleached hair. It started to break off and as a result I experienced hair loss on that half. So my hair began to look wonky and uneven. And nobody tellls you that with black and blonde, the textures will not match!!

ItsKimiK: I went bright magenta/pink a few months ago and the color faded out to such a beautiful pastel rosegold-ish color. I feel like this is the best way to getting lasting pastels, basically staining your bleached hair with very bright pigmented colors. Problem is tho that you can't really properly predict how a certain color will fade out

Lucy: You're so right Stella! I've had pastel rose, lightest ash blonde and box dye black all multiple times and your critiques are spot on. Jet black particularly broke my heart to leave, it's like that one ex that you can't forget! But although I spent a couple of decades getting together and breaking up with jet black on a regular basis, by the end I stopped feeling glam and just noticed how washed out I looked. Currently copper ginger and loving it

sofie🌸: The other thing about Ashe blonde hair is skin tone. I have strawberry blonde / auburn natural hair with grey green eyes and pink cool toned skin (very pale), so Ashe blonde flatters me more than darker hair. When you have warmer tones in your skin, darker facial features (dark eyes, dark eyebrows, lashes and more) the Ashe blonde would wash you out. Same goes for people who are cool toned but have darker features, it will not flatter you. BUT if you go Ashe blonde, you could have beige tones in it for warmer skin toned people OR have a darker root to contrast the hair and the skin ❤ loved this video, definitely been there and gone through bad hair colours have a lovely day whoever is reading this

Emily Evans: This is a terrific video! Thank you! I was a natural ash blonde as a child, but as I got older my hair got darker. For years I bleached, dyed, cut, curled, and basically tortured my hair—most of the time it was FUN! It’s been fright white and jet black. It was maroon, every shade of red, oh what a lark! As it began to gray, I had highlights and lowlights added professionally. Then one day it happened. I used a hairdresser who just was lazy and careless. My hair was ruined. Fried. Dry Ramen noodles had better texture. I discovered that a guy who boarded a horse at my barn was a hairdresser, so I asked him if he would cut my hair and showed him a picture of a Pixie. That night he cut off all of the damage, revealing my natural hair color. It looked GREAT, and felt even better. Sorry for the essay, but hair should be fun! ❤️

bunni bravo: I LOVE this hair color and especially STYLE on you Stella! It’s a kind & sweet style that matches your kind & sweet, sincere personality

Eve: I actually decided to dye my hair after your video when you did black hair, even though many people told me not to do it, because it would never fit with my skin tone I still did it, and loved it so much and I only regret it, that I haven't tried it sooner :D like yeah sure, I was looking a bit crazy when I didn't had any makeup on, looking pale and a bit dead yet I still loved it. Though I tried to go back to blonde after that yet I failed, because I realized how much I miss the black so few days ago I just dyed it back to black :D

Bruna Guirado: the black hair broke my heart, because when i did it i liked a lot too. But it´s a fact that its been 1 year since I died just one time, and I still struggle with getting it lighter. YESS DO THE BEST COLORS VIDEO PLEASEE

Sophie Inspired: I would love to hear more about the skin, light, hair colour and the effects it gives. If ash blond is the worst for almost all skin colours, which colours would you recommend the most for different skin colours/ effects. also am hoping on the counterpart to this video, top 5 of your favorite hair colours must say the split hair with the cut looked soooo amazing

Donna mcdermott: The darker blue extension with the faded pastel blue such a great idea looks like you dyed it that way on purpose could get expensive with extension if you change your colour a lot but if you're keeping the same colour for a while would be great way to go between dying it

fxckng jules: Woops I've 3 out of them now?! Bright pink with black underlayers (sorta split dye) with neon green plucks next to my ears. Had almost all black a year ago, black with silver bangs. Dyed it with a 'non permanent' box dye few times, came out pretty easy, went red after it, now pink. I've a really light skin and like black/darker much more than lighter colors. Also had really icy blonde end of 2020, did like that too tho hahaha. Did have split dyes, half-half like you had, too in the past. Feel like I've had all colors and many combinations too.

Temajuki: Man, idk how she avoids the scalp damage. I'm dreading redoing my roots again since my head has finally healed after a few months but I'm also already hating seeing too much of my natural colour

Stephanie Junca: I have level 1-2 hair so it is essentially black. I have died my hair literally all of the colors of the rainbow even accidentally at times. However, in the past, I would use permanent black dye to go back to my "natural" hair color if I wanted to essentially start over, and recently I discovered demi-permanent black. I have tried semi-permanent black and that washes out super fast, but demi-permanent black has been a game changer for me! Permanent black of course I agree is the hardest to remove aside from green. Both of those are my favorite colors and I will go from green to black and back to green most years. The process is so hard, but I love the colors. And now demi-permanent black is my go to when I take my hair experimentation just a little too far :)

ThatDaisyGirl: I just wanna say that I'm going to cut pixie cut, you inspired me to try it. Thank you <3 PS. I'm in a 25 - 30 age group not 65+ (If ya know ya know)

melbert: I have been colouring my naturally mahogany colour hair since I was 15yr old. I've been all of the burgundy, purple shades and even blonde in my time but I still go back to good old bluey black. I find I can wear any colour clothes with it and lots of make up looks. I personally think you look STUNNING with black hair.

12mfo: Thank you for your absolute honesty! I tried almost all the colors on this list and for me green was the worst.. the only way I found to get rid of it, without dying my hair black or a boring brown, was to apply red on top .. i got purple hair

SuHu62: Stella, I need you to *please* include a clear shot of your nails in all your future posts. Your nails are always lovely, as is your hair ❤ I like how clearly you broke down your reasoning for your 5 choices.

Ren: surprised about the black hair dye one cause i, already dark haired, got money pieces and the rest dyed black. Eventually i got tired of the blonde and went all black (at a salon) After, honestly not too long blonde strands randomly started showing up again. Some months later i went dark blue, told my hairdresser about the fact it had been dyed black a few months prior but my hair took the bleach so well, almost as if it was never dyed black (twice) lol. So im quite surprised about that one. Maybe i just got lucky though. Am wondering if the split dye one only applies to the colored one's vs the more neutral black/white (or blonde) one. Also curious about the best hair colors! Loving the wig btw.

p1nkfernvm: ive had neon green hair twice (so far lmao) and yeah its definitely a nuisance . it looked cool after dyeing it, but after like 1-2 washes the color became a bit dull and just kinda weird, and trying to remove the color to go back to blonde was a nightmare. it wasnt that hard to style bc i just wore all black, but if you like colorful clothes its definitely going to be a headache i think the worst part is that i still would probably dye it like that again bc after all, i loved how it looked but if you can afford it, i would definitely recommend trying out a wig first

kristina3threat: I looooved when my hair was dyed black and would probably still be wearing it today, but I ended up developing severe allergies after having it a few years, and now my scalp can no longer tolerate most dyes. Such a shame.

Zofia Janeczek: Yes please! Do a review of best hair colors to have. I also change hair colors frequently but don't venture into fantasy colors due to work. This was extremely helpful. I hope that copper/red is on the list of your best hair colors, I just love all reds and feel they're super wearable by all people and have impact but don't damage hair as much.

Paige O'Brien: Love my black hair. Haven't changed the black in 7 years now. However I like dyeing the underlayer of my hair fashion colors.

Anna Harrer: I have also tried almost every color under the sun, funny enough the colors I was most happy and satisfied with and had the least problems with were pastell (blue/turquoise) and ice white. Had both for a really long time (3+ years) which is otherwise very unusual for me, and didn't find them hard to maintain at all. For the pastels I would just use conditioner mixed with a bit of (non permanent) dye for every or every other wash, and the color never faded. For ice white I'd use a homemade mix of very little purple/blue toned non permanent dye with my conditioner that functioned as a toner and nothing ever went brassy. My natural hair color is a shade 6/7 so redoing the roots was a bit annoying but that's it. I'm going back to ice white with some lilac strands tomorrow

Andrea M: I loved my split dye. So much fun. I felt more like myself. I’m blonde rn and I miss it. I had the same pink/purple she had. Felt so cute

Ariana Rose Plays: Hi Stella love you and am so excited for the secret project , for me I kinda dye my hair a lot and for me I kinda don't care I had apple green twice but both time I did them with 2 colors (light green with dark green highlights actually faded fast) ( apple with purple highlights green I ended up going blue after it) , I had once split dye half yellow half pink (luckily they both faded nicely and fast), ash white (I sometimes do it when I go to the hair dresser just for an even base for other colors and keep it for 1 or 2 weeks then dye it pastel) pastels (my favorite works the best for me) black( I never did it yet, the darkest I did is dark brown) , I've done almost all colors and ngl u were my inspiration for all that time I've watched u since I was 9 years old and that was the first time I got my hair dyed

Hannah B: I had a feeling apple green would be on the list! I've had it for a long time and I love it . I think doing a dark green shadow root helps blend things better when my natural color comes back in.

Alex Bugarin: I ended up using a purple semi-permanent dye that was so dark that it came out looking black at first, luckily what I learned from that process was that isopropyl alcohol seems to remove stains that were the result of semi-permanent dye. The alcohol got it off of my skin, the walls, and the tub it was a life saver. That is also to say though that semi-permanent black dye will likely stain you hair and still be very difficult to remove. My naturally dirty blonde hair is still a denim blue and it has been months since I dyed it and I don't use color safe shampoo either.

Julia Shorter: I love your hair videos never change up your style because of comments on here. I love this video and I love being a part of the Stella gang ❤

Moon Child: i wish this had come out before i did my split dye lol, it turned out pretty, but im SO sick of it lol, im going to be bleaching and recoloring it this weekend finally but its been such a pain

Cora Autumn: I LOVE black hair on almost everyone, I keep my mahogany hair black always because it’s so shiny and healthy that colour and looks glossy, it’s easy to style and doesn’t look too terrible if you miss a wash day aha

originalparafan: Idk, but I feel like I’ve loved every hair color Stella has done on herself.

Persephone Black: I used to dye my hair black all through high school. I would buy manic panic (raven black) and the base on that is purple/blue so I would mix a manic panic blue in there too. Just to give it some dimension. My hair is a level 2 so it wasn't a huge change. Also, manic panic raven black washes out so quick. My hair also lifts fast to blonde (I've been blessed with super porous curls). I'd never do ash blonde (only in wigs). I think the color I'd NEVER do again is red. It fades so fast and depeding on the base of the color it can be a gross orange.

pixzichix: I dyed my hair black 15 years ago, never have I dyed it since. It took alot of time for it to grow out and eventually i ended up cutting about 10 inches of hair just to remove it completely - never again will i dye my hair.

Pamela Falls: I have to disagree with ashy blonde draining your color. You are warm toned, so you won't look great in cool desaturated colors. Some people (cool and soft toned) will actually look great with ashy blonde.

Ruby Darling: I keep my hair ash blond and I absolutely love it, but I didn't really have to damage my hair because I'm already like a level 8 naturally, so I barely have to bleach it to get it light enough for ash blond

Türkan Karakoç: I literally did throw my black box dye out right at this moment after you said. Because it is all so true. And if i was keeping it i would be going back to black.

Lassie: I've already tried half of these and had to learn the hard way XD no regrets tho! It was still fun. Now I'm growing my hair out and I'm just gonna stay close to my natural color/shade. I prefer longer hair on myself as well so it makes more sense to keep it healthy anyways.

ña na: I love this. You’ve really tried it all !!

singularity: I managed to have two of these at the same time for awhile lmao, black hair with white blond/pastels in the front. I got rid of the really pale colors in the front quickly, I loved it but it showed any bit of banding/imperfection and required so. much. maintenance. Now if I want pale colors, I keep it only to the ends of my front section where it's already been lightened twice, and then keep the rest dark.

Emma: I love apple/lime green on myself :D one of my favourite colors, i keep going back to it every time im bored with any other color, but my hair is much longer than your green pixie, so maybe its more the case of the cut rather than the color

K H: I went into a salon and asked to have my hair dyed back to my natural colour (dark chocolate brown), the salon did pitch black instead. Pitch. Damned. Black. It will NEVER leave my hair.

Moxleygirl 1125: I used to do split dyes all the time but when I wanted a change I found it very difficult to change it, having to redo was a true pain the in a** Absolutely gorgeous but I’ll leave it to other people ❤️

Cat Can Do: My buddy went ash blonde and her stylist had her do it over a spread of time, I think about 6 months, in order to help keep her hair healthy. It was not absolutely perfect it was far healthier than when I did it to myself in my early 20s.

Nikita's Feels: I was thinking something like red. Because after hearing from others and my own experience. Red will stay on. Red stains your hair like crazy. And after a quick Google search apparently it's also the hardest colour to keep up because it washes out quickly yet still stains the hair. I use the schwarzkopf palette regular box dye on my hair in the shade intense red (shade number 5.29) and I love it. I tired the oleo intense and I liked the colour more for some reason. It was a more intense red on me than the other one. I don't know how to explain it but it was a brighter red. Even on the box the regular palette red looks a tad more dull or greyed out for some reason. But I like them both. Although I think I shedded more hair with the oleo intense. Don't worry, I loose a lot of hair naturally. But I'm also blessed with tons of white hair at 21. So I either walk around half white looking like a teenager or I loose hair but look stunning in my usual red. I've been keeping it red for a year now and I don't think unless I lighten the ends of my hair that I'll ever dye my hair my natural deep drown ever again. Red looks amazing on me. Because I'm more yellow toned in my skin and more bricky red makeup (blusher or lipstick or eyeshadow) tends to look better on my skintone. And my natural hair has naturally a red reflex in the sunlight. Plus a lot of people complimented my red hair saying it looks good on me. I had blue and pink ends or strands. But so far red hair has given me a personality of its own.

That Ex Californian: I have black dyed hair right now and I absolutely love it!! However, I do find that my clothing options are more limited because my hair is too much of a stark contrast and I have to wear more jewel tones and dark colors. Which I don’t mind but I can’t wear pastels without it looking weird

pat a cat: I think when hairstylists say "have a salon dye you black, it will be easier" they usually mean that when you use professional stuff it's easy to predict what color it'll be when you decide to remove it and neutralize accordingly. Box dye doesn't have a whole pamphlet on color charts and bases, it doesn't tell like "this hairdye has a brown-violet base overall, and this 1.0 is more green than red" and so on. every professional brand creates it's colour with diferent pigments and if you use it in your work you know which ones they are, but the box dye doesn't have anything like that, just take the box and hope for the best

Lucid: Split hair is very hard to manage, I can confirm. I have it dyed half green, half purple, and it works because they were both really dark shades. * Were* because they started to fade and revealed how uneven the bleach job is. I’ve bleached and dyed it at home over the course of a few years, kept it long, and the bleach was “ehhh whatever was on the shelf”. Which made it a mess, the top of my head faded to something pretty warm, while my ends on the green side are practically blue And yeah I know, green and purple are a pretty bad combo for split hair, I can only style black/white with it. But I’ve just embraced it and wear the same things I would if my hair was brown. I chose these colors cause they had meaning to me and I can’t say I regret it I’m planning to keep the split when I bleach my roots again, mostly because I have other tubes of green/purple that I bought before I found these shades online and I don’t wanna waste them lol. They’re too small to cover the entire half, so I’m gonna mix green with electric blue and purple with red and hope for the best

Adriana Tomic: I had black hair for 17 years...yeah it is commitment. I loved it. I only love two colors for me, black or red. I looked great with black, but I had baby face, did have the style for it too. Only problem with black hair I had was ROOTS, I have natural level 6-7 and my roots are very visible like my hair was levitating after a week...Therefore...bangs, hide the regrowth for at least 3 weeks, more was not possible. Roots are better with red tho, less visible. I can go up to 6 weeks, usually color after 4.

Natalia Amanowicz: Perfect. I fully agree. Now I covered my peachy with purple and blue and it's even worse. I will try to go down to a blonde that suits olive skin tone. As a shade of blonde may suit? I have a slightly similar complexion to you, same natural hair color.

Abi: When I was a sophomore in college, I had my hair bleached to all hell and colored an ashy gray. It looked like my hair was actively dying of thirst light did not reflect off my head of straw

Michel S: I thought she was going to mention red too, I feel like no matter how much times you bleach it you will still have red hairs

mercury: I love these videos now we need best 5 hair colors to try

Matschen: I've had a split dye a few times and I liked it a lot every time. But to be honest I don't care if it looks weird after some time. One was actually apple green and pink. I thought it looked really cool. And it was okay to style because it looked so extreme anyways that it was easy to just throw another colour in the mix. Besides red. That one never worked with it.

pinkpop37: Thought red hair wouldve been on the list! Its so hard to remove warm tones if wanting to go ash.

Amanda Weaver: As someone who has worn their hair black for the past 15 years of their life. She is right. Black is a committed because it is so hard to remove and if you want to wear your hair dark just do a dark brown level 3 resist the urge for black. Especially if you have naturally light hair because when it grows out its a total bitch. Just do the dark brown or buy a wig. But also if you are committed to wearing your hair level 1 black that is totally okay its just alot of work is all.

Monbebe-Stay-Army: I had a split dye in 2021. Purple and black. I loved it. Eventually I dyed it all black, because the purple side was hard to maintain. As in my hair didn't take the dye evenly. It was splotchy a lot, faded out after one wash and that started to annoy me. Now all black for over a year now with a little piece of purple on the side of my face and I love it still

Eliud Alejandro: My favorite hair color I had was super light white blonde, and yes, it was a pain in the ass, for the two weeks my hair was that color, I had to do my makeup every single day just to look decent, my scalp was irritated from the bleach and the dye, it was a head turner for sure, but really difficult to maintain, and yes, it felt like ratchet Barbie Doll hair

Salad: I just dyed my hair jet black but it’s because I wanted a color that I would have to commit too. I love color but I just dont upkeep my hair enough for it to be bleached so now I’m sticking with 1n

mollycatrin: my friend literally did that, she bleached her own hair for 3 days, hated it after a few days and then dyed it pitch black 13:53

Tunes: Yes please! Do a best hair colors to try! I currently have an underlight that’s dyed turquoise and I wanted to know what colors would you recommend!

Kali Maxine: Good video. But I disagree with the blond. I've seen that color look so good on some people. And they had a relatively easy time maintaining and styling it. I don't think it would work for everyone, but it does work for some. But black. I agree that it's super hard to change. I've done it. It looked good when I was younger but not so much now. I'm naturally a brunette but I've gone blond. It actually makes my skin look better.

Barbs Medina: yeah, you still look gorgeous in every color tho, even the blonde one:( kinda envy you‍♀️ I have had every color on my hair as well... but I always get stuck with purple-lavender-sky blue- baby pink that actually looks more like a lavender... but cold tones are the best for me I've come to realize bc I'm to rosy and those colors make me look normal... way to long of a comment, but everything for me to tell u that u look gorgeous in any color, hairstyle and makeup u goddess love from Chile

Yvonne Rognan: I was so happy when cut my hair short, and silvery/white is my fave. I do, however, add some colour conditioners every now and then. Black hair was a long time ago, on quite long hair. I had to accept reddish orange hair for 4 years. Cut it from waist length to bra strap length. My favorite go to for long hair is burgundy thou, pinkish burgundy. Colour conditioner. But now the longest parts of my hair is 4cm, and I love it!

Jazz Almeida Oliveira: I dont speak a lot of english, but i find this video interesting and I wanted to talk about my experience with pastel pink hair!! Hello!! I half agreed, i think pastels fade quick if you do not pay attention, i guess it is a color to have if u have really long time to take care of your hair (im not saying she didnt take care, i saw a low of videos and she really did take good care!!) mostly because of good branding dye and moisturizer hahaha I have pastel hair since middle of past year, baby pink, now i have half my bangs and one strap of soft yellow in my hair, and i think its pretty easy to maintain the pastels! i always pick a really pigmented dye and then i diluted then, when i put the dye on the hair i wait for about 40 minutes and its a eternity to fade out of the hair hahaha, i have to do retouches after 1 month and something but its not necessary because i think my faded pinky hair looks really great!! I dunno bout other colors tho... thats my experience!! :D Edit: I think some countries can have sort of good dye for something, i always think "oh!! thats so mesmerizing!!" when i see someone dye their hair on the usa per example, but most of the times it do really fades quick! i was born and i live in Brazil, and here the dye are SOOO PIGMENTED, sometimes we even say the dye wont come of LMAO, so... maybe the dye that I use is better for pastels? i dunno... and if someone wants pastels, pick a really pigmented dye, like... u want baby pink? pick a really bright red and diluted with moisturizer cream, and if it turns more vibrant than u want, let it be that way, it will fade the ton u want and it will last a looooot longer :))

a_doro_ble: The only thing of the list I agree is the permanent black color! It's a great color if it's the only one that you want, but if you want to change at any point... Good luck!

Marti: i wish i had enough money for human hair or at least natural looking wigs i’m such a fan of changing my hair but i’ve been doing pinks, purples and pastel blue because i’m afraid anything stronger will stain

vhhs: My favorite hair color on me was strips of white hair with my black. It was hard to keep up with but I loved having my white hair and let it fade to a dark silver (for better manage)

Arctic Fox Hair Color: You literally slay every look though.

nessnness: Me an natural blonde once tried to colour it copper. It turned out a bit darker than i had intended and i looked so sick until it lightened naturally.

Katrina: I loveee my green its my favourite I've ever done, it's now faded into such a pretty mint which I would love to keep but my roots look so bad with it.

Linx Latham: your skin is just the prettiest, I'm so jealous

Jasperella Wolfsbane 🧹🌜: Worst hair color?...but looks good with every hair color and style... always ✨✨✨✨✨

Rocío Rudolf: Last year there was a video "convincing you to dye your hair black" I feel betrayed

Makenzie Given: Girl I will die with my died hair black lol I’m not planning on having any other color ever.

Paige O'Brien: Love my black hair. Haven't changed the black in 7 years now. However I like dyeing the underlayer of my hair fashion colors.

Kaila XOXX: i agree 100 percent with this video, i have been every colour like yourself and i have learned what is annoying to remove.

yeah brave sound: i'd say red deserves a place on the list because it never comes off no matter what you try there'll always be red in your hair

Laurie V.: I hope this goes #viral cus it’s informative af

Mika Wright: I've always dreamt and love to wear pastel hair color one day, I was thinking about one day I'm going to color my hair pastel pink ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A Flood: ‍♀️ I go back to black ALL THE TIME. Why do we do this to ourselves? Because it's beautiful, damnit!!!

Аліна: THIS MINT GREEN IS YOUR PERFECT HAIR COLOR MISS STELLA YOU LOOK LIKE A GORGEOUS GODDESS THE WAY IT COMPLIMENTS YOUR EYES AND SKIN I CAAAANNNNTTTT

Kai Jensson: You should check out a girl called Mia Harrison Stella- her content is just like yours (she dyed her hair every 3 weeks ahah) and I think she might give you some colour ideas ❤

Heather Howe: Hi Stella, have you any advice on violets . I love violets :pastal to really dark but it doesn't love me ( or rather my light neutral cool pink skin) I look sickly ill. Despite this I've tried many times and find they fade to an unattractive muddy pink. I want to try again but need advice on best violet shade ?

last of her name: Watching this as I rinse the black dye from my hair

Karina Gaertner: aaaaaaaaa but you look sooooo stunning with black hair

Miracle Diengdoh: I have deep black hair, it’s hard to bleach too if i wanna try lighter colours. It’s been years since i tried colouring my hair. No colours would show up.

BeaM: I have very very long black dye hair. I love it, i have it for 5 years. I feel like an elf or a vampire ❣️

caroline robert: Omg the ash blond thing is soooo true!!! I am so so pale and when I got ash blonde hair and I looked dead all the time.

Donna mcdermott: Stella crazy colour UV green will have you living your best green hair fantasy and it lasts well and it glows up under black light too the yellow and pink UV colours are also fire

Aurora Culy: I've worn the just for men's grey coverage box dye for like a year

Petra Hovorkova: I tried so many colours to on my head too but the top colours for me is blonde or semi-permanent colours i love it. There is fact i hate split hair dye too

Miss Trece: About 10 years ago I had Black hair. LOVED IT. Wanted to go Red after a year or so... had to cut my hait off. All the Black. Never doing it again

Leonie_etc: Need a tutorial of the hair your wearing right now

myyoga8spa: Thank you I needed that ❤️

Jay: I have also had a bunch of different hair collors and i have also had black (tried multiple times.) And im pretty sure my hair is just weird becouse it just dous not stick. Ive tried ManicPanic, ArticFox, drugstore hair dye. And it wil just wash out after 3 times if not the first time without even leaving a hint of the undertone. But then also most collors just dont stick on my hair this far ive tried red, blue, green, purple, silver (and black ofc) Purple didnt even stick in tge first place washing the dye out also washed out all the collor same with silver. Green i guess worked but faded out pretty quick (ArticFox forrest green i think.) and red only box dye works and bleu only the dark collors from dyrections work and 1 shade from ManicPanic and once i got those in they wont leave how hard i try. For context i am not a redhead infact my hair is dark blonde. Also when i apply bleach in less then 5 minuts my hair wil be practicly white, like lighter then ashy blonde. I have no idea why my hair works this way but it dous. If anyone could maby explain how this is posible then that would be aprechiated.

**Bad_Artist**: How does you hair look so healthy after 8years of continues dying??
