I hope you're clicking on this video because it was linked after my last video, where i talk all about air drying, my hair and how i get the best results: um from air drying, my hair, and in that video. I talk specifically about plopping, so i promised that i would make this little quick like two minute plopping tutorial for some of you who are like new to the curly girl method or don't really know anything about it. And then i can spare the people who have been watching my channel for years um, the pain of watching me go through a hair plop again on this channel. So the purpose of the plop in this video and in most of my videos, is to absorb some of the excess water out of my hair before i either go through the full air drying process or before i diffuse my hair. The main purpose of this step in this scenario anyway, is to take excess water out of your hair, so that the weight of the water is not pulling your curls straight, while your hair dries for the plopping process. Traditionally i always used a t-shirt like one of my husband's t-shirts, a cotton t-shirt. Never a towel. You can use a microfiber towel. You can use a t-shirt. You can use an old baby blanket. You can use a flower sack towel. You can use whatever you have. That'S convenient that doesn't have like a fibrous material like a terry cloth. Towel, that's not going to create frizz and basically like rough up your curls as they're drying. So that's flopping. If you have any questions or comments, leave them in the comment section below. I hope you like this little tutorial, if you did give it a thumbs up, if you didn't give it a big ol thumbs down subscribe to my channel, and i will see you soon in my next video bye. You

Kirsty Bonner: Haven’t seen you in ages, nice to see you pop up on my alerts. I used to plop when I started learning it. Then I found it was quicker to just get my tshirt and gently squeeze/scrunch out the excess water with it. Then move straight into diffusing. Like someone else said, I found that as my hair got longer it could also end up making the back a little funny too - but this is a great easy explanation as always and I think try it all. See what everyone likes. And decide what hat suits you.
Barbara Carbone: I hair plopped for the first time and OMG what a game changer for me!! I got beautiful waves and curls. Thanks.
Diane Beaulaurier: Thanks. I’m following your air drying tutorial and not fighting with my hair anymore and it looks so much better too. Easy peasy so thanks again. And now I know how to plop too!
MissMargaret: Plopping always messes up the back of my hair. I watch in hopes that I will see what I’ve been doing wrong.
brookeyoko: This length looks great on you! Love your videos!
MicaLove: Thank you!! I think I’m going to binge watch all of your videos this weekend lol
Daniela R: Thanks for keeping your channel uncomplicated! Greetings from the west coast of Canada!
TJ S.: I use my husband's old tshirt. I open the bottom, put my head in and grab the side at the back of my head to bring towards my face. I then twist the t-shirt and
Yvette Torres: I just love your videos!
Rania Kuddeh: How about wet ploping, can you explain to us?
WavyHairCareBlog: Hey there! :) I blog about wavy hair and I am working on a blog post that will share a bunch of wavy/curly social media accounts, blogs, youtube channels, etc and their hair type. This idea came about because I sometimes get asked if I know of another blogger who has a specific hair type. I totally get that some people are interested in trying to find someone to follow who has all their hair stats as they may be best suited to get tips from. So, I thought I'd try to make a blog post sharing different wavy or curly accounts and their hair stats. I'm hoping to include you in my blog post. If you're open to being included could you reply letting me know your hair type? I'm planning to list density, strand thickness and porosity types. If there is some other property that you feel is key to your hair (Sensitive to certain ingredients, oily scalp, super prone to tangles, etc) feel free to share that as well and I’ll see about including it. Hope you have a nice day!
Melissa Till: Anytime I hang my head upside down to plop I get knots. Then I have to brush it out which causes me to lose my curl clumps (waves). This causing me to eye my hair down again to scrunch it back. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?
PRINCE AKPAN: I Like The Hairstyle!
TJ S.: and tuck in the ends. Very fast.
Jeanne Sohre: Thanks Susie
