My videos will be focused on celebrity hairstyles, athletes, models, actors, social media stars and event videos.

All right welcome everyone to my first official. I don't know what to call this. Maybe a hair cast haha instead of a podcast hair cast, maybe who knows uh, but I've got a very, very special guest he's. Actually, my first guest, you may know who he is uh and by looking at your views on YouTube, I'm like okay, how are you getting 900 million views on a YouTube short how's that possible it's pretty wild man, it's pretty wild yeah for sure it's been a Long journey but uh the Youtube shorts are on the up and up and it's something I tried to capitalize on so I'm excited to be here and see what hair tips we can get out there yeah, so the magic mat - oh actually Matt, uh before we get Into this I have to just play a quick video uh from the sponsor. Give me one second here, okay hold on. Thank you, okay. That was it. I all right, so thank you so much uh sponsor um, a great plug for them and uh so yeah. So what do you think of that sponsor pretty pretty you know they are right, clearly, obviously yeah for sure appreciate it. It'S good um. So anyway, I want to start off with asking you a personal question. Um has anyone ever confused you with Magic Mike, especially a girl, yeah yeah? So it's a you know, play on words the magic mat which is inspired by that movie um, I mean there's still people today. That call me the Magic Mike, so that's still going on, but yeah. It'S definitely on the watch list. I still haven't seen it but yeah yeah. I just wanted to ask you that, because uh I tried calling myself the magic Steven and it doesn't work so uh. It doesn't have that nah uh, another personal question: how do you feel when people say Matthew when they call you Matthew? I feel, like you know, sounds like my mom's calling me to go somewhere, it's kind of like the more formal version of my name um, or it feels like I'm in grade four again. My teachers call me in front of the class but uh yeah and that's just kind of like the nickname, that's stuck on social media and uh. Let'S get that more informal Vibe, you know. Do you trust people who spell their name s-t-e-v-e-n or s-t-e-p-h-e-n? Oh, I know uh. The first person I saw at the pH was a Stephen Curry, so I kind of threw me off the first time. I saw that because I was like, is this Steven or is this Stefan um so still still confuses me a bit to this day, but I, like the pH it's more unique. To be honest, thank you. Thank you. I I completely agree. I don't trust people who spell their name with a v uh. I don't trust those guys, so thankfully, I'm with a pH. So thank you for that um now. What I want to do is I want to first of all showcase a little bit in case people who they may not know who you are um and I want to showcase your YouTube channel uh quickly, so everyone can see this. Can you see this Matt? I sure can - and I want to just - I cannot believe - the amount of the video views you have and it's like I mean look at this 25 million 40 million. The amount of money you must be spending on Bots is incredible, so um I'm kidding, but seriously. Congratulations man. Thank you. Dude yeah. I mean you know I don't uh. I don't delve too much into the bonding views, but uh it's more so focusing on watch time, which I think is what brought those numbers in, but uh yeah. It'S honestly crazy to see. I don't like the first four or so months of posting shorts, there's like zero traction, so I look at these numbers today and now it's just like how did this even happen? You know it's still mind-blowing to me that my greatest trick yet yeah and and speaking of of your success and stuff, what types of of platforms have you been on like? Have you been on television and magazines and tell me about that yeah for sure, so I did uh more recently uh an Access Hollywood segment with Mario Lopez um. So that was pretty sad. That was pretty fun because I did like a sort of virtual magic trick with him uh sort of over soon you're, like on Ellen, when you see like the guy on the big screen she's like talking it's like that was me, so that was pretty dope um, Not an allen, but on the axis Hollywood um. So I've done that and then also in uh September. I did an art tribute for the queen, because here in Canada, when she passed away like it was a very big deal he's on all our money right. We got ta, get new money and all that I'm setting an art tribute and that got picked up like a lot of UK journalists um. So I was in like the independent, like um the evening standard, like all those big papers and some of my friends from the UK were like. We see you everywhere, man kind of made a run in the UK, so that was uh. That was cool but yeah. Just a couple TV spots, a couple news articles, but definitely looking to expand, get on some red carpets, like you said for sure yeah. That'S amazing man and congrats on that uh, as as a magician as somebody who's out there uh in the public eye a lot and stuff like that. Do you like impressions? People will do impressions voice impressions. I want to do an impression for you. Okay, I'm gon na do I'm gon na do an impression of a guy who's, trying to not be obvious, he's going to do a magic trick. Prank on you, okay, okay, ready! Here we go: hey Matt, hey man; okay, that was it that was it pretty good. Man pretty good 10 out of 10.. Thank you. Thank you. Well, that's a guy you're not trying to be too obviously trying to play imaginary prank on you, okay, so yeah yeah, it's a little subtle. So what I want to do now is, since we have to talk about some hair stuff uh, I want to get into what I think is going to be the most interesting and fun part of this show where I'm going to feature five people, I'm gon na, Have their picture come up on the screen and I want you to rate their hair from one to ten, and these are Big, influential people you're going to recognize all of them um, but I'm ready to go man, you ready, I'm excited. Hopefully I take it personally. So the first one you're going to be very familiar with and who is that you got ta, know exactly right and right in your right in your territory, he's got the buzz cut. What do you think of his hair? The bus cut? I feel like it's a like dominant male sort of look, um kind of like lets. The face speak for itself as opposed to having that hair to sort of frame the face um, I think for him. It kind of suits his look like he's very clean cut like dark black shirt, like short, dark hair, and it's just like a nice like you know, I think it suits his personality more than anything so out of 10 for him. I think it suits him perfectly. So it's a 10 out of 10 on him, wow very nice all right! Next one goes without saying who doesn't love him Brad Pitt right, yeah yeah! I was always telling my mom how much I like his hair. I got ta say another 10 out of 10 for him um. This is style that I used to have honestly like grade 10 grade 11 uh, but yeah. It looks good yeah, yep. Definitely all right! Next, next, one you're, probably gon na, be familiar with. Okay, I think uh, it's an interesting cut for sure um. Let'S say it's exactly my style, but it's uh. It'S very clean, cut, well shaped. I would say on this one: you have to rate it well, for the sake of me I'll, give it 10 out of 10. good choice, all right next up, somebody who is very, very popular in social media. Everybody loves this guy, no sort of issues whatsoever. Oh, you know what his hair is. Actually quite nice um. I think it's got like decent. It'S like decent thickness at the front strong enough hairline um nice beard, though honestly at first beer to his hair, but but the ways and the curls that he's gotten and I would see like a solid eight out of ten yeah. No controversy whatsoever. No, no! Last but not least, this is probably the best one of all you. You should recognize him. I know you're a little bit younger, but let's see if you recognize him no, what's up, I don't know if you know him, but he when he played in a certain movie, he had his hair uh as an eagle, Nicholas Cage. So uh, I don't know if you remember that movie or not. Ah I don't know if I've seen this one, it's uh wow. So it's not even real. It'S a bird am I reading the bird's hair. That'S his hair. It'S confirmed it's his hair Nicholas Cage. He can do anything he's like a magician well for uniqueness, I'll give it a 10 out of 10.. I'Ve never seen anything like this before yeah all right, beautiful. Well, thank you for uh for doing that segment with me. I think it's uh, I think you, you gave some great scores and uh that was very exciting. So now what I want to uh do is go over your hair a bit and then you actually have a magic trick, because I cannot have you not do something for us, the viewers, because you're so known, for being a magician. But let's talk about hair because everybody wants me to talk about hair, so thank you. First of all for reaching out to me on social media and uh. Oh wait! A minute hold on, I got ta, do another sponsor plug hold on one second, give me a second okay. Thank you for that all right um. So let's talk about hair again real quick um. Did you know who that sponsor was by the way Matt say? Did you know who that sponsor was for sure okay, because it's very important that the viewers watching knew who that was because they paid big bucks for this to happen all right so anyway, um? Let'S talk about your hair man, thank you for reaching out to me on social media and asking me about my products and stuff for buying my products which hopefully are in route just keep an eye on it. Yeah tell me about your hair journey man. What are you looking to do with your hair currently looks like you're growing it out a bit yeah, so back in like grade 10 back on the time when I had like a few girls that you know wanted to date back in the Glory Days, let's say: Um grade 10. 16. 17. You know you got that thick Luscious Hair. I was going to kind of had like the Brad Pitt flow going on um, but then in recent times I sort of cut it shorter. Just for the summer time and I kind of went with that shorter look for a bit and then quarantine. I grew it back out and then I cut it again in October and I'm growing it out again. I want to get back to that nice, like flow kind of curtains. Look, but I've noticed in recent times my hairs has become like more dry and Frizzy. Perhaps it's like that cold Canadian climate or it's whatever's going on over here, but I was looking for an upgrade to uh. You know get it back to that. Luscious locks that I used to have yeah. Would you say that your hair may be a bit dry? Eh yeah, it sure would eh yeah, that's awesome. So I know that I know so. Everybody is obsessed with how long the hair is Right. Everyone wants to see how long someone's hair right now your hair. I can tell it's fairly long, but could you do us a favor and just kind of pull the hair down in front? I want to see. I want everyone to see how long your hair is slow down here down to about a year. Whoa, okay, so and see how it's How It Springs back up. So the thing about that is, everybody is so obsessed with. How long should my hair be to look like your hairstyle matte, you know what I mean they all want. How long is it and pull out the sides? I want to see how long the sides are they're. Pretty long, that's crazy! Yeah! You got some. You got a lot. You have a lot going on you could you could actually wear a variety of hairstyles man. You could do like the kind of sweeper, like the Justin Bieber kind of sweeping look like way across this way like over the bring it all down on your on your forehead right now. Uh I mean I'm saying you can do that you can you can break it all down your forehead and sweep it over right. You can like do this huge pompadour. If you want to do, you can do a whole bunch of stuff um, but to get the flow right as your hair gets longer and everybody wants to know the secret. How do I make my hair? Look, not frizzy and not so dry. Yeah yeah and it comes down to the right products and it comes out to the right technique, believe it or not, a even my products, which I suggested, which ones to use 25 spray um tidal wave, is great right here right here. This is my number one seller uh. It smells like the beach, it's incredible uh. You really need good products, but you also need the right styling techniques, because the styling techniques is what really is going to help get that hair to look healthy, because you can have long hair and it looks just like dry and real ratty and Frizzy right. Yeah. Right but um kind of like this - you see this but anyway, um what you could do is uh. You can blow dry your hair with a tool AKA one of my round, brushes uh, and then you know I have a blow dryer as well, and it's just the technique of smoothing out the hair. So you have to take the round brush and literally, like you're you're, pulling the hair downwards, wrapping around and smoothing it with the blow dryer and then bringing it back with the with the brush and the blow dryer. And I have countless videos on how to do that, but literally a lot of people think, oh, I just can use a product and my hair is going to look great. You actually have to put effort into it and then lastly, the most important thing probably is the haircut itself. So if you're trying to grow your hair out and this kind of leads into my next question, have you ever had a bad haircut before? Ah, I wouldn't say bad um, sometimes a bit short like, for example, the hairstyle I have right now. I grew it out from like a skin fade in the back into like short on top, and I just kind of grew it all out. So I mean the parts back here are obviously much shorter than on top just because, like it grew from nothing um, so I would say bad haircut, but maybe haircuts that didn't really plan ahead for the style. I was going for long term yeah and and but believe it or not your hair in the back those little flips and that messiness that's actually really in yeah. You know what I mean like that. That'S super in and everybody wants that like. How do I get the flip up in the back, so I mean you're, a natural Matt yeah. I got like once. It gets really long back here. It'S like it's a weird thing, because it's like Curly in the back and then it's like pinned straight on top or maybe like a bit wavy on top, but like yeah in the back. It gets really Flippy and curly, just naturally yeah genetic gift. So if you want to use like tidal, wave um, the best thing I would suggest is maybe, when you get out of the shower lightly, pat dry, your hair, you never want to take a towel and just shake it all over your head. That'S that's! Creating instant frizz and instant mess so towel blot it lightly uh. And then, if you want to go for more natural, look and kind of enhance the waves, then you can spray like four or five spritzes of tidal wave. While it's damp spray it throughout the back and top and let it just settle on your hair and then scrunch it scrunch it like this and then just let it air dry and then you're going to actually get some wave to it and get a little. It'S going to dry like a little more of luminous, so that may be something you can try. You know I noticed too, like when I dry my hair. It gets very flat, like here, it's very flat right and like even on top like it's pretty flat, which is why I was like you know when I saw a tidal wave and it's like a volumizing spray. That kind of got me excited because it's like look like it's like right on my scalp like the whole way and I'm like trying to pull it out, but it just it doesn't go you know. Well, you know what's happening. I can see right away turn your head again to the side like you just yeah, so your hair grows forward. I can see it grows forward. The hair follicle goes this way when you go with the hair follicle, it's going to be at its flattest and closest to the Head. Okay, if you're looking for volume, what you have to do is actually brush it back against the grain and go back the opposite way and that's how you're going to get see how ready it's lifting on the C on the side, yeah, it's like so brush the Sides back a bit more yeah, so you see how it's like wanting to stick up more yeah. It doesn't wan na. I know but it'll cooperate at some point, but you see the points already instantly. You have more volume so right when you go with the grain yeah, it's got a nice flow to it, but what happens is it lays closer and flatter to your head? So what you need to do is start coming up with uh yeah FPS are coming up with some again tidal wave where, if you want to get more volume in a specific area spray it on the root, lift it and then you can style it, and that's Going to give you an amazing vime as well, so you know this is kind of a spray where you spray it like right on the scalp and then when you're blow drying, try lifting up this way and then you can bring it forward. But when you bring It Forward, you're going to have a little more volume to it, you know exactly, and I know too, you recommended for people with um either like frizzy hair dry hair, to use the 25 spray either in conjunction or like right before the tidal Wave right, yeah, so first thing you wash your hair again get out of the shower towel dry. It 25 spray is like the foundational base spray. You spray that in your hair, you can comb it through. If you want first to get it all evenly distributed again. Don'T over spray it you need probably four or five spritzes, and then you can do like try like two three spritzes of this, because it has a nice fine Mist. So you get good coverage so one two three and then you can kind of run your fingers through it and then you can style as needed. You know just don't over overdo the tidal wave because it does create kind of like a more voluminous sea. Salt-Ish texture. It'S not like most sea salt sprays that are very heavy um, but it's going to create a bit more volume so just play around with it. You know maybe use less, maybe use more or but I would never ever over use like five six sprays on certain hair types. Just because you know I'm trying to smooth the hair out more then uh. I would use a different approach. I just want to ask too on the sides of my hair, I've kind of noticed this until it grows out my hair kind of grows like this, but then after it gets a bit longer, then I start to get the curls out. Is there any way like? I guess in your tutorial - or you did like the flip up at the front, would it be kind of the same thing for the side to kind of get like that, those like wings here kind of yeah you want that you want. You want the hair to Wing up. I think that looks cool yeah, so basically yeah. You just take take my smaller round brush because, as the hair is longer, you need like the larger one, but the two inch round brush. I have which I call a tick. Tocker brush yeah, you take it and you just you flip the hair upwards. This way and then again you can use tidal, wave spray first and then blow dry it and lock it in and then you can kind of on your fingers through it. But it's like it's like ironing a shirt right, you're getting out the wrinkles. You have to use that heat to kind of set it in or if you're going to put a wrinkle in a shirt you use the heat to wrinkle it in all of a sudden. You have this wrinkle, so it's the same thing with hair. The heat is going to actually help lock it in I've heard people say, though, that the heat can damage hair. Do you recommend cold blow drying like the cool setting or no? He he only damages hair. When it's used improperly, I've been blow drying, hair for 20, something years and I've never fried anyone's hair, and I'm telling you I go over and over and over at full heat full speed. You damage the hair when you hold it on the section too long and it starts smoking and that's when you're creating the damage, but if you're doing it properly where, when I blow dry, you can see in a lot of my tutorials, I'm constantly moving the brush And the blow dryer together, I'm never just holding a blow dryer in one spot and burning the hair. I don't want you looking like me Matt, you know what I mean yeah for sure this is more maintenance than uh someone like yourself. I got ta shave my head every two days but um, but all right so listen, Matt uh! You have a magic trick for us. Now, I'm just going to give you a warning um. We cannot use any live animals um darn. Are we good on that? I had a goldfish. I was gon na break out. Well as long as the Goldfish signs are released and we're good I'll. Let him know all right so uh, I'm ready man, you have a cool magic trick for us yeah I did so. I actually did something uh that, like the viewers can follow, along with which I think will be cool, it's kind of like a mind-reading type thing um. So what I'm gon na need you to do. Stephen is think of your favorite sport. It can be any sport. It'S one that you got in mind so here I have a chart, but what I want you to do first is think of the last letter of that sport. If you were to spell it like basketball, the last letter would be L right. So think of that letter and find it on this sheet, so once you've found your letter memorize the color of that letter. Okay, you got the color locked in yep, okay. So now we got one more art project with the color. You have line that up, Sir. If it's reverse but line that up with uh the celebrity, so if your color is yellow, it would be Justin Bieber right yeah. I want that celebrity in your mind. I really think like picture them. Okay, like just have that image in your mind, so now for the next part of this, I have a deck of cards here. So what I want you to do is name out any card still with that celebrity in mind, name out any card um. Let'S do a Jack of Spades Jack of Spades. You sure do you want to change your mind or no um? No, what do I have to? No, you can stick with it. That'S no problem! How about Queen of Hearts Queen of Hearts, you sure yeah, okay. So this deck has been here. What I'm going to do is take out these cards and you can see that all the cards are in fact face up, and you named anyone - and you said the uh - was it the Queen of Hearts right, yep yep. So if we go through this step, you'll see that there's actually one card in here that's face down right and if you, what was the celebrity, you were thinking of again David Beckham yeah, someone with great hair, and you can actually see on that card. Written says and you thought of any card right, but wouldn't it be even cooler if that card s, what the hell? You know it all comes back to the guy with the best hair on the list. So I'm like gosh, that's crazy! Thank you! Oh my god. Dude forget David Blaine, bro you're, bigger than him appreciate you bro, damn that was insane. That was a Oh. I don't understand how that anything had anything to do with the sport. It'S just you know what were you thinking of soccer? Is that no golf? Well, it all comes back wow, that's insane bro wow! Thank you. I guess uh for anyone who uh you know has been watching. Hopefully, they'll go and, and most of your, your content is mostly tricks like this shorts and and fun kind of, because I watch a lot of it and the one with the color with the yellow color. When you see like the blue yeah I was like. Am I on shrooms right now, yeah crazy, it's a lot of like what I post is like kind of like tricks like that and then also like um yeah. Like optical illusions, I find are super fun and then just art type things, but not like just your classic. Drawing like I like to do a lot of art where it's like at the end. It'S a big reveal, or you know something unique. That'S kind of like wow: how did he do that? You know the same reaction. You get from a magic trick. Yeah. Do you ever hear? Did anyone ever call you Matt the Gathering uh, you know what that's a new one other than you right now. I don't think so, but I'm good forget Magic. The Gathering, it's Matt, the Gathering we'll have to get that sorted out. Well, listen! Uh! Matt! I appreciate your time thanks for doing this, I had a lot of fun. I hope you had fun and uh yeah man. So anyone who's watching subscribe to him follow him on on. You know social media and stuff like that, but thank you for being my first official guest and what an awesome magic trick. Man and uh thanks again Matt. I appreciate you bro thanks dude, take care, appreciate it we'll talk soon. Buddy
