Hi, I'm Katie Styles back here again with before-and-after TV with Stephanie and we're going to show you how to use a flat iron to curl your hair. This is the FHI heat platform, it's a ceramic flat iron and you can actually curl your hair with a flat iron. The look I'm going to do is inspired by Christina Aguilera and the look is flat to about there and then curl starts in and the ends of the hair are kept flat. Now. The first thing we're going to do is put on this really great lotion and it's by FHI. Again, it's called hot sauce and it's a protectant for the hair when you're curling it and using a flat iron, and what you want to do is concentrate it. On the middle section, right down to the ends, just protects the hair and keeps it nice and smooth nice and moisturized. So this is the trick that I would like to share with you when it comes to curling your hair with a flatter, and what you're going to want to do is take a section of hair, but that thick and start down about three inches, because we're going To keep the top part straight and clamp your hair in wrap it once around your iron and then spin, your iron until the hair ends up coming straight down and at this point, you're going to slowly run it through the hair and I'm going to stop short Of the ends, so they stay straight and get a little twist and you're left with a nice loose curl, and what I like about the flat iron opposed to a barrel. Curling iron, is that it's less of a ringlets and a little bit more of a zigzag. Now, I'm going to show you how to do that again, so we're going to take the piece of hair clamp down on the iron wrap, the hair once around the barrel and then spin your iron and a full circle until the hair right. There is coming straight down and then you're going to run your iron through nice and slow and stop just short at the end, give it a little twist and once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy to do, and it's actually quite easy to Do in yourself as well, if you're watching this thinking, I can do that on myself. It just takes a little bit of practice, and it's really quite easy, and the nice thing about the Flatirons is that the curl lasts for a really long time and if you've noticed Stephanie's makeup, we just did a Christina Aguilera inspired makeover from the music video keeps Getting better and it's a really fun video, if you want to check it out, have you ever coat your hair with a flat iron Stephanie? I have a myself, but I've had professionals do it and it lasted like 12 to 14 hours and so long. That'S what you found, I guess, there's much nicer, looser curl than a fox fennec rolling on, so I would have given me and it's as if stayed in forever her disease yeah, it's nice. It really a really does seem to last. A lot longer was the best I've ever had. My hair curl like it lasted all until like two days late and right, but it was like full body to still curl. It was awesome and stay the whole night, I'm so impressed and, as you can see, I've sectioned off the top of the hair and I'm just starting with the underneath of the hair just to make it easier and then we'll work on the top. And I think the key is to run along fairly slow, so it gets nice and heated and the steam that you see rising from the hair is just the product that we put in and a little bit of the moisture that's left over in the hair. It'S not smoke, so, as you can see, it is really easy to curl your hair with a flat iron and it's very effective. Again I receive this from Beauty. Jenny: For those that it doesn't work for, I'd make sure I was turning the device 360 degrees after you twist your hair around the straightener. I found that I'd accidentally turn it only 180 degrees and that would leave my hair straight rather than curly.

invisiblemonsterr: for those of you who can't get it to work, i don't know if it's your straightener or your technique, but i had my straightener right by my laptop (really safe i know) and followed along as she did it :) it's a lot less confusing when you can do it play-by-play and can pause it if she goes too fast :) also i noticed at first i was twisting the straightener the opposite way she was doing it and it came out looking funky, that's when i decided to watch along as i did it. hope this helps :)
