The Right Hair Color For Your Skintone With 2022 Trends | Ellebangs

Here is an updated video on how to have the right hair color to suit your skin tone with current 2022 hair trends. I've done similar videos to this one mainly focusing on how you can find what your skin tone is. Here I dive into hair color to not only suit your skin tone but also for various skin depths. Because you may be cool skin toned but in a deeper shade or fair skinned with a warmer undertone. There is a huge misconception that all deeper skin tones are warm skin tones and that's just not true. Hope this video helps you understand what tone you have and inspires you to try something new at the salon next time!

Hi everyone welcome back to my channel in today's video. We are going to be talking about hair colors that are right for your skin tones. Now i've done a few videos surrounding the subject on my channel in the past, but i want to do something. That'S a little bit more easy to understand and more to the point. So normally my videos are more teaching you how to find your skin tone um and once you know your skin tone, then like xyz looks good on you, but without um, an actual like formula or like specific example. So what i want to do in today's video is to go over the cool skin tones neutral and warm skin tones and then give two examples per skin tone, one for deeper skin tones and one for more fair skin tones. And i say that because oftentimes someone with a deeper complexion will be referred to as warm skin tones and you can absolutely have darker skin and still be cool and basically the rule. For you know, kind of complementing your skin tone is to stay within kind of the same family, all right, so first we're going to start with cool skin tones, so a classic cool skin tone, but fair skin is anne hathaway. So a good color for her is always something pretty natural. Now, when you have cool skin tone, it is already, by default a little more striking now pair, that, with the high contrast of the darker hair, lighter skin tone, you can either have a really dark hair to enhance that or to soften that look and kind of Have more of this harmony of colors to your look, that would be to add a neutral to warm, highlight or balayage now, traditionally, if your cool skin tone, you would stick to cooler tones now say you want to stay within the browns. A good option would be something like this, something that is not too reddish, not too warm, but definitely kind of softening up the coolness that you have going on all right. So next would be the cool skin tone with a deeper skin shade now here, because you have a slightly less of the contrast of hair to skin, there's a little bit more leeway so actually sticking to darker richer colors, i think, is what enhances and celebrates your Skin tone, even more or going the complete opposite like say, like a platinum blonde, which is by default, pretty cool, would absolutely be stunning, but of course that's a much edgier much more striking, look so beautiful, hair color. I would suggest for a deeper cool skin tone. Would be this right here all right, moving into neutral skin tones, and this is the one that is the most misunderstood the most under diagnosed and what i am personally myself so for years i understood cool, neutral and warm skin tones and for the longest time i Could not figure out what skin tone i was and finally, one time i was like, could i possibly be neutral? Absolutely not, and i think the reason is because my mom is very clearly a golden skin tone and my dad is very clearly cool and because of that i think i just assumed. I must be one or the other well turns out. I am neutral and the neutral celebrity i'm going to be referring to as an example today is gigi adid, so i'll give you a few little guidelines on how you identify neutral because it is kind of the more confusing one. Normally, if your cool skin tone, you know normally, if you're more golden skin tone, you also know it's more obvious in the neutral. You kind of feel, like you, have a little bit of both and so first thing to look at always is eyes, and i have hazely kind of green and some light eyes um, so that normally indicates a neutral skin tone because it is a neutral eye. Color now, naturally, i'm very fair - i just bronze and tan, and so i think i give the appearance a little bit of almost like olive skin tone and again olive skin tone is neutral because again it is a green base. So if you think of a golden skin tone, which is more yellows golds and then cool skin tone being blue, when you mix blue and yellow what do you get you get green. So that's why all the earthy tones greens and all of that just make our neutral skin tone like come alive. Now when it comes to hair color, we have a little bit more leeway. Space um, especially when we're dealing with how light or how dark our hair is the only thing you never really want to do. But again you can do if you're looking for that edgy more striking, look um, and that is to do the complete opposites of a spectrum so either completely platinum blonde or like really stark dark dark, like bluish black and in terms of suiting your skin tone. Obviously, neutral hair color is always going to look good, but we also definitely have like those golden aspects like gigi adid, with her like deep green eyes, and if you notice she always has this kind of like middle of the spectrum hair level. So she's always between say, like a level, seven and a level, nine you've never seen her platinum and you've never seen her with jet black hair and so for neutral skin tones. I'M not really going to go into a lighter or deeper skin tone because i feel like the rules are so the same, all right and now our last skin tone, which is our golden, and i feel like for the longest time golden skin tone - was the it Color and the perfect example for this one is jlo. She she is jayla with the glow, always for the last 20 years. We'Ve seen her on a red carpet. She always has that golden glow to her, and i think one of the main things. Obviously she has great skin always has, but i think the biggest contributing factor to her success with her gold is that she always always stays within her golden color range. So if you notice her hair is always always an either golden brown or a golden blonde, and then in terms of makeup, she always goes with warm warm golden tones on her skin and that's why she always just is like a harmony of color and so anytime. We'Re looking at beauty whether it be fashion, whether it's hair, whether it's makeup, whether it's a piece of art with a sculpture. There are always two aspects to art and one is the shape and the other is the color and i think color has predominantly always been more ignored and the shape so like with hair. It'S mostly like the the volume the cut, and i feel like more so in the last five ish. Dare i say, 10 years i feel like color has finally gotten its spotlight not to say that, like we didn't use color in the past or um that we didn't understand color, i just feel like it is so much more celebrated now i feel - and this is Why it gets tricky, sometimes in a salon when someone brings in a photo, and typically, if you like, that, hair most likely. It is because it is a harmony of colors that that celebrity is wearing from lighting to what they're wearing to their hair color to their makeup, and it looks good on them and again, if we were to give you the exact same hair, color literally like peel. It from their head and put it on yours. It would most likely look different, just even the hair alone next to your skin tone, but it would also give you a different look to your skin. So that's why it's so important to a finder skin tone and if you would like to learn how to better find your skin tone. If you still don't know what you are, i do have other videos that i filmed around the subject. I will leave them linked down below and if you'd like to go a little bit deeper, i've created an online beauty and lifestyle course called live and look lux and that's just one of the chapters. But basically, after taking this very simple easy course, you will become an expert in your own beauty, so i will leave a link for that down below as well and anytime. I mention my own course across social media. I always leave a discount code for you. So go ahead and check that out. So my suggestion for a light to medium skin color with a golden undertone would be this right here. Definitely a lot of worms, definitely a lot of golds, just absolutely celebrating and enhancing that beautiful natural glow that you have already and then, if you are golden skin tone with a deeper shade, this is an absolutely gorgeous color. That is not going to compete with your skin, but again just celebrate and enhance the beautiful tones in your skin all right guys, and that is all the skin tones. Hopefully, you leave this video a little inspired if you're looking to kind of change up your hair a little bit anyway. Thank you guys so much for watching. I love you and i'll see you in the next one bye, guys

MakeupByAliciaE: I just find it so hard when you are naturally a level 3 brunette to get a hairdresser to lighten someone with a neutral skin tone and still achieve a neutral look with the hair colour and still cover greys. The toners wash out with ash tones after 1/2 washes and your left with a brassy colour for months until your next visit. Sigh! Anyone find this?

Nia: I’m still confused but my skin is olive, but fair and my eyes are grey blue and my hair is dark brown with copper tones naturally in the light. Any advice? I was thinking of going more neutral with the hair ironically! Thank you for your videos x

Joanna Nelson: What about for those with cool undertones (blue and purple veins), pale in winter and slight pink undertones, but golden skin tone in the summer? I’m a level 6 with natural blonde body hair that contributes to the “golden” aspect of my tan. But have had a hard time finding the right hair tone!

Transmuting Prana🪄: Thank you so much! This video was super helpful and I realize now that I'm an obvious neutral! You look amazing, as usual btw! Much love from upstate NY!

Jess E: I love that you mention that you tan. This has always confused me! My skin is COOL cool. Very fair with pink undertones. My eyes are a light honey brown with warm tones. I love to hilight the gold flecks in my eyes through clothes and hair, but those same colours clash with my skin. So I use fake tan every week and lean into a warmer colour scheme.

Marni Dillon: This was so helpful. I never thought I could be neutral either ‍♀️ but the green eyes ‍♀️.

lilbabyghoul: Your hair colour, skin tone, shirt and back drop looks so cohesive and beautiful!

Jasmine: Omg I clicked on this video because I’m trying to figure out a more natural hair colour that will suit me. I am also neutral skin tone with Hazel eyes with green!! Currently with platinum/ash blonde hair. I’m wanting to keep some platinum and incorporate some depth into my hair with maybe a mushroom brown at the roots?? I love your hair colour btw.

frazee1: your hair color is just a dream ! an love that shirt ! this was so helpful i can never get my skin tone figured out its like nothing looks right on me because i have very pale skin but dark golden brown eyes its very hard to figure this out ...also random but what blush are you wearing i absolutely love it

Yvette Dean: I moved out of state and my hair has been butchered. I’m neutral skin toned and the hairdresser dyed my hair dark black/brown and I went to get it fixed and the next hairdresser dyed my hair platinum and frayed it like spaghetti. Both times I asked for golden brown with soft highlights while focusing on integrity of my hair...so now I am doing boxed dye because I’ve always done light golden brown and my hair has always been super long, healthy, and thick. It’s pet of my identity so I feel devastated at the lack of integrity of my hair since much fell put and broke out from the salon mistakes. From now on I’m doing my hair myself.

Julia Shalom Jordan: Thank you! Love the clear examples!!!!

Perverted Reflection: I knew I looked like Gigi Hadid but I thought I was just being delusional. I am delusional, I don't look like her, but we are both neutrals.

Maxine 96: I had to learn which color works best for my skin tone. I have golden skin, brown eyes and I'm a level 4. I used to bleach my hair platinum blond which didn't fit my type at all. Nowadays, I go for gold blond highlights/Balayage which complement my skin so much better. It was really a journey.

DNA: Tyvm I always have trouble figuring out my skin tone! So I’ll happily check out your suggested videos.

Hello 😊: I honestly don’t think it matters what goes well with your skin tone because you can make anything look good as long as it’s put together right.

Catrina Brooks: Wow love the video! My boyfriend wanted me to watch it figure out what hair color and highlights are best! Remember to like and subscribe to spread this! ✨️ hope I can find a good beautician!

Sarah Newman: I was taught how to find your skin tone was to look at the veins in your arms and depending on the colour that would tell you

MrsKelly: I’m so happy you did this video because I’m always curious what works best thank you

Tarren Mari: I have cool light olive skin and have to say I find it to be tricky compared to just warm olive, cool or warm skin. if I am tan I can get away with warmer tones, but without a tan my skin is almost a grey green shade (lol I look like an actual zombie) and I have to be careful and keep it cool with a hint of very slight warmth. I think there is some missed nuance here because a skin tone can be any depth and any undertone but it can already be muted or clear meaning how much grey or brightness and opacity to the skin there is. that matters a lot on hair color because of contrast.

Kimberly Mej: Thank you so much! I want to dye my hair red and have light olive skin tone. What kinds of red would you recommend?

Halley Mastrolonardo: Love this, thank you!

Pandora victoria: Love these types of videos thank you

Jennifer Slater: Your hair colour is absolutely stunning! Please tell what shades you use.

Minica Estilette: I'D LOVE TO FIND MY SKIN TONE I HAVE HAZEL EYES SO ITS HARD SOMETIMES

CherryJuli: I have fair warm olive skin and basically every hair color works on me except for a warm light blonde because it basically has the color of my skin.

Alex: Love this!

Vegan GuacamoLei: It's weird because Im sure I'm cool toned (according to any test/ info out there) bluey/grey eyes, lightest ash brown hair, but because I have freckles ginger hair looks the best on me. I look completely dead (complexion wise) in cool toned reds and when I tried so hard to have platinum hair even when the hair itself was the lightest level and toned to completely white or silver, in comparison to my face it looked like it had a yellow tinge! Yellow blonde also looks hideous on me, so I'm just lost as to which kind of blonde I could go for

Vani Singh: Hi I have red copper hair can you please suggest what shampoo I should use!

AlleenLoveHope: could you plz do this with fashion colors?

pmussof: Anne Hathaway type here. I have the worst time finding a good hair color for me

Purple: I believe that the natural haircolor is always the most suitable for your skintone. But I wonder about grey? Is it suitable for all skintones?

chel chel: Can you please tell me which watch you’re wearing ? I thought would be in the description box. I really like it!

ingrid: What is your favorite brand of ammonia free permanent hair color? THX

Pandora victoria: I struggle to figure my skin tone

1dyC: I have hazel eyes so probably neutral skin tone right? But I got the most compliments when I was platinum blonde and now that I'm very dark brown (level 3.0) . Golden hair shades do not suit be at alllll. But I wear gold jewelry most of the time omg I'm so confused

Katie Bella Martinez channel🥰😜: And if I go with my hairstylist what do I ask for what color is your hair ?? Please Thank u !

Loucine Salloum: Can you talk about brazilian treatment or protein treatment to straighten the hair please

syed abad: 5:25 artisticas son unos QUINZAA.Monster muchas y un buen ejercicio. Saludos desdet la Cd. de world

Julie me: I look very yellow if there is any red or orange in my hair colour. It's annoying

Tina Sch: What is your hair color? It’s so pretty

sobean: Can I have a neutral skine tone with blue eyes? I think I am a soft summer, but I am wondering if can pull off some warmth :)

CassNino: You didn’t mention blue eyes and ashes hair tones I don’t think?

Kristina “Christy” Marquez: I have weird skin. I say that because I can have jet black hair which is a cool color, but yet I look good with strawberry blonde. Whch is a warm color. I'm medium complexion. Dirty blonde is my natural hair color, but you will never see it. I have jet black hair now. I have hazel eyes, and the black hair brings out the Green in my eyes.

Katie Bella Martinez channel🥰😜: Can someone with a cool skin tone where the hair color you have right now ?

Katie Bella Martinez channel🥰😜: My color of eyes are brown

Roxi : there's something wrong with this girl, my guess, Pills

JAS: I still don't know
