Merry christmas, everyone happy christmas morning, good afternoon, your friendly neighborhood hairstylist me is here with my sister anna lara today we're going to react to and rank my christmas hairstyles from over the years. I have made nine in total, but we're just going to be reacting to the first eight playlist above. If you want to watch, it seems only fitting, as you're now current producer, to look back at your old ones and help you rank them. Oh no, so to rank it instead of actually like putting them in order, because i can't choose from my babies like that we're gon na give it a value out of 10.. Okay yeah sounds good. Let'S go all the way back to 2012.. I don't know. That'S a long time ago i uploaded it on the 23rd. Oh, my goodness. I got close to christmas that year. So it's christmas time and the tree is decorated and so high and christmas morning is coming, which, for my family means a lot of pictures that don't always turn out so flattering wait. Your voice is so high. I know oh you're, so cute, oh okay, can i just say i worked so hard on those transitions where it was like a picture and then it turned into moving. I had only been using imovie for a couple months at this point. Before that i was using a free software. I downloaded from the internet to edit my videos wow. This is great. This is gross, i mean the b-roll, though b-roll was there. Those were my dollar store presents. I mean she was working it the ornaments on the tree. I noticed all that that was great great stuff. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry, highest voice. I'Ve ever heard hi guys, i'm just trying to hello. My name is kaylee all right. Let'S see this hairstyle, oh wow, that's kind of similar to what we did this year. Oh, oh, you want to know a secret about that. Headband, it's a bra, strap! You didn't have a headband. I didn't have a headband that went all the way around. So i hooked the ends of a bra, strap together and loosened it all the way and made it a headband. Oh no, i didn't um. If you guys watched last week's uh video, this was kaylee's girlies. I mean it was eight years ago this year. I remember that yeah, it is getting harder and harder to remember what i have and haven't done in these videos. That'S also a brow. Strap though the one i used this year was a headband, i'm dying. That'S not cute huh, this like side low bun, is like no. I just always think it looks like a a gross yeah like a small animal nestled. I used a bun maker why your hair was so long and thick. It was what people were doing at the time. It was the cool hack. What makes you look like? You have a growth. You really did. Oh honestly, okay, i was reading myself a little bit, but this was the first one i was so excited about it. So cute, okay, little kaley, though she did so good. She did, she had b-roll. She has little music credits at the end. That was before. People were like doing all that it seems pretty normal now, especially now that i've done nine of them, but i mean i'm really proud of. Like me trying out new stuff, i got ta give the original 10 out of ten yeah. I'M i'm right there with you. 10 out of 10., i think this is where the idea was born, i'm so happy that it's continued every single year for you, that was four minutes wow. That was very short. Do you remember when youtube videos used to be four minutes long? What a time all right, how about next year? This is 2013. reusing, the b-roll okay, the pictures from the year before here we go. I was so proud of my little backdrop. Oh look at how cute this one, my hair was red. Yeah, her hair definitely got warmer. Oh the moonwalk wow. Oh, that's so funny. I really thought about doing this hairstyle again this year, oh gosh, that could have been fun, though recreating all your old ones, maybe for 20 21 yeah. You have so much hair. That'S on being 24 and uh only just starting to color my hair in 2013, we still didn't have headband this time we were using our hair in the headband, so the story of the red hair is that i went really dark with my hair because i thought It would look cool and then i hated it, and so then i very slowly had to go back through red to gold to get to blonde. Oh wow, it really is pretty easy. I did this in about 30 seconds and it's really wow 30 seconds once you get selected, but okay baby. I can't even do a french braid at 30 seconds wow. That is a lot of hair wrapped around that hair tie she's a chunk. Oh and you have exactly one girl, oh yeah, the ring tornado, the ringlets, the biggest problem. I don't think no, you do have a headband. I have headbands now. Oh a nice braid, of course braidaholic. What does the top remind me of? I'M not sure, but it's not good. Oh my gosh look at my previous video oh hold on hold on. I want to see more of that. Oh wow she's voluminous. That'S a lot of hair yeah thanks for watching subscribe, so you never miss a video and then the music cred. This was cute thanks. I remember that i was really rushed doing this one and i don't remember why. But that's why i reused the b-roll. I was gon na say i don't feel like this. One was as like christmas cheery, like maybe, but it just didn't seem like you were like as like happy and like excited for christmas. I don't feel the pizzazz. Well, i'm gon na say like a six out of ten, and that's mostly for how pretty and shiny my hair was. Okay, that's i feel like that's. That'S a good one! Next 2014, my first year in l.a, oh, oh, my gosh hold on hold on the intro screen. Wow, we have a little click to subscribe. Yeah. I was very proud of making that animation four different fonts. I love it. Let'S point out these videos: we've got the this was like a grecian like lady on the left, the pin up one that one is the pink one. It'S still going strong jenna marbles mentioned it. She did. That was a big moment. I cried there's this mermaid one that was super cool and then this, like super early 2000s gym workout hairstyle. I actually remember recreating this and wearing this to dance, and i got so many comments. Oh, my gosh thanks my sister's, the youtuber and i just followed her video, oh still, using the oil that b-roll lives on whoa ornaments hanging from strength hanging from the stream yep yep. Can you not? This was a really good era of my channel. I'M really proud of it. I did the five minute curl video. I did the three ways to fake bangs with your hair. I did that five minute ponytail video that is still funding my channel, i, like the little woman you've got going on yeah. This was like a pretty like again. This is like the the evolution from there kind of looks like mine. That'S why i like it so much hair, there's a lot of hair here. These are the hairfinity days wow, oh the slo-mo. Can i mention that, like this era of me up until like pretty much the last year or two would do five to ten minutes of afters, i had a routine that i went through where it was like. Look from this to this this to this. This to this this to this this, this dance around or like play around now look over the shoulder now do this now do that it was just like this insecurity i was like. I couldn't have one bad angle of me: oh girl, almost that's a lot of pressure. It'S a lot now. I understand why you're like oh you're, already done with your afters, because i was like. Oh i do. I do like a minute of them. We'Re done love! It yeah, i love that easy. That'S on self-esteem! That'S a huge button. How did i do that? I don't think i did nope we're back to the bun maker. I knew it. I knew i smelled a bun former. Oh look at this though i used to have people respond with like hashtag kaylee melissa, and i would do the subscriber spotlight that's so cute. Maybe i should bring that back. We should do it. We should comment below if i need to bring that back just tag. Her and we can repost it on your insta story, yeah, oh man. I liked that one a lot i like this one too. I worked so hard. I remember that backdrop took me a solid two hours to make it was fishing line. I was hanging at all the different levels again on my own. I would do it and then turn the camera on and take a picture to make sure it looked good and then go back to it. That'S one of my favorite ones, so i want to give it like a 12 out of 10 for sure i love it yeah this next one. This is another one that i super love here we go. 2015.! Oh, oh, oh hold on! Look at it! Sorry, the evolution wow also only using two fonts now wow, that's good. We got some braids. We have some nice texture wow. This was the year that i had my like full anxiety meltdown and i like didn't film or make videos for like six months wow that year i like fully broke down, and i came back around christmas time. So this was like a coming back. Video wow. You had a lot of good content to pull from also like right around the time that i posted this video. I posted my video talking about like my struggles with depression and anxiety for the first time, and that was a super big moment for me personally. So yeah just a big big christmas. For me, this time, wow whoa, seven, the acting the acting, has really evolved. That yawn looked real. Oh it did i like that we did the sparkles and also still the ornaments. Yes, both this is a quick little five minute. Curl idea, which is great for people with uh long hair - you just go through and take like big sections. Oh that's one on the loose iron, it's so good, yeah ooh! I like the blonde you've got going on. So this was right after i met the people at nine zero one salon and they did my hair and look at i mean yeah transformation. Oh i love this hairstyle. It'S such a good, quick, easy one. It'S the little topsy tail! Oh! This is what i did for when we did the partner halloween costumes for woody. Oh yeah guys go watch that video too. That was fun that did not get enough love. No, we spent so much time on time and money. That was that was a lot of work. Oh we're loosening baby hairs, we're loosening baby hairs since 2015.. So this is, i think, one of the first iterations of my backcomb bun. Oh, it is look at that you backcomb it and then you wrap it. I uh! I got this one from the 901 girls as well. What up nikki? Thank you. I love this bun. I love the little ends, sticking out with the whoa. I am still obsessed with this. I have a crush on this bun. You came a long way from your bun former to this i'm just saying this was a good year. Oh, this is cute, so this one is from the the one time that i've been to coachella. I did this hairstyle and uh people loved it, but i had to take that video down. I can't ever talk about why, but the tea there is tea there, but you know i put it up in this video again, so that's fun! I was really proud of this uh coachella moment. Actually yeah coachella everything you thought it would be. I went there for work with only work, people, not friends, and i was sober so no, it was not. I think it could be, but it wasn't. Somebody commented on this video and said white girl limit exceeded and i still can't get over it. It'S one of my favorite comments. I'Ve ever gotten, not because i'm proud of that, but because they're so right, oh kaylee, these remind me of when we're living apart, though i remember watching these and being like. Oh, this is like our time to spend together. Now we spend like every day together. Oh okay, why are we always so moody with the last video right wow this one? When i look back in my little memory, bank is like the one that i think of as like the quintessential okay, the holiday morning hair. This is the christmas morning. Hairstyle video! It tried so hard and i really like how it turned out that one's like a 13 out of 10. For me, i love it. I agree with your ratings. Thank you so 2016, i hired a videographer. I met him on a different shoot and he gave me like on off days. He would give me a day rate that was a lot lower than what he would do for his other clients, when he would shoot like music videos and stuff casual yeah. He was really really good, obviously in his job. It just wasn't like the perfect fit, but he worked with me on a couple of videos, so this was one of them yeah and at this point i had somebody else doing my edits for me, which was so nice. I'M sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry yeah. The change um, i feel like i'm in a hallmark movie, so the way that we did it actually to make it the most effective. Because this backdrop had to go up in my living room because that's where we had room for all of the lights and the videographer and stuff, i did all of the tutorial bits and then we did all of the afters. Oh, so i did everything twice. Oh, i like that one, that's really cute yeah! Oh, i love this egg. This is gon na. Be me soon. I'M gon na have these curtain bangs, oh gosh, i'm getting ptsd from our bangs video. These are like hand tied lace. I had them cut for my face by a hair stylist, i custom, colored them and some company is trying to sell their plastic. Bangs still buy it using my video. We do not endorse any bangs at this moment. So if you see it it's fake, are we still taking hairfinity here? I was not still taking hairfinity at this point. Oh you know the other thing. I was seeing a naturopath because i was having a lot of health issues. I'Ve had some chronic fatigue issues over the years. We have not talked about that and i was taking a handful of vitamins a day, so i was not thinking of the hairfinity, but i think i was still getting them. Your natural path was giving you volume. She was here yeah, oh wow, the thigh-high socks, i'm sorry yeah. Those are great yeah. These might be my favorite hairstyle. So far, these are really cute rating. This one it needs to be like a 15 out of 10., oh for sure, production quality through the right. I spent so much money on this video alrighty next one. I think for this one. My dream on youtube was to basically be like christelle lim was for fashion. I wanted to be for hair still love christelle lim. She was doing all these like highly edited, like really editorial videos that were beautiful, and i found one of the companies that did one of her videos watched their content, and i was like this is it. This is what i want all my videos to look like, like my dream was to be making enough on youtube to hire a full-on production company film, my videos, like all that kind of stuff, so this was during that time, unfortunately, youtube changed their algorithm about the Time that i hired these guys, it started rewarding watch time over everything else, so i was still making these four minute long videos and i couldn't figure out why my videos were not doing well and it was because i didn't have high watch time, but i thought I had failed and my channel was falling apart, so it was a really rough time. Oh gosh, that is like a really sad combination of just like the times yeah, but this is cute still, oh, oh, that snappies, i still dance the exact same way. I love the emerald background and the blush pjs. This is very cute, she's a vibe. This is like a blogger and a half right here. Yeah, it's serving serving it to me. The two camera angles - oh the production company i was working with - is called tim and co they're in la they're, still going strong. So if you are looking for, somebody still really recommend them, they do amazing work and they're. So my favorite people, i've ever worked with yeah the quality here insane and freaking sane. Those braids were like literally perfect. Oh oh yeah! I love them. I think i still stop. That'S so cute. Oh we're still faking it. I love it. I love it. So we're talking the camera now what the heck yeah yeah um, that was a tim and co change. I love it see how blonde my hair got, though i just kept going blonder and blonder. I didn't ever. Do the toning get darker process, which i recommend video linked? I can totally tell that you're really vibing with the people you're filming with here, though, because you seem like a lot more at ease than i've. Seen you that's right, yeah. I was having a great time. Let'S see this one's solid, the hairstyles are good. The production is there yeah. I think i want to give it like a nine out of ten okay yeah, i'm i'm with you. I love talking to camera, though that was a big event. That was a really good addition for sure 2018. Oh, this is the first video we ever worked on together. Oh my gosh like a little black and white decor. Oh you did so good on this. Oh, oh, my gosh! So cute, oh the finger dancing. I told you every time classic i mean she's full out full out talking to camera. Here, though yeah i am, you were a big inspiration behind like talking through all of it. Well, i was doing it before you, but i definitely got better at it with you. Twisting the hair the name of the next - i almost did that in this video this time, but i just did bobby pins instead. Oh i still love that scrunchie me too, so cute honestly, so cute. I remember. I filled up that mug way too full and, as i was shooting this, i was always like. Oh my gosh you're, about to spill it you're about to you're so good at like showing the exact instructions of the hair. Thank you. It is a skill. I bet you've kind of like learned that now i have when i see it back and i'm like. Oh sorry, ashley, i should have probably given you a clip for that ashley's our editor. I'M not gon na lie so cute. I remember the hardest part of filming this stuff at my house was keeping my dogs away because yeah i kept wanting to like cuddle with you. Oh i love it. I just spend my time really trying to look like blake lively in the 2010s. That'S my favorite ornament. You did so good directing this, though you were like oh play with the ornaments. Oh here's, a cup of coffee. Like so good, do you guys get dedicated christmas pajamas and wear them to open presents, or do you just wear whatever pajamas or do you wear like normal clothes? What what is did you just ask your followers? What they're wearing right now know what they wear for christmas morning, right, not creepy at all, oh, that this one was so fun. It was so fun. It was the very first video that we like filmed and produced together, yeah all this stuff. This was like right before i like announced my divorce. I was so nervous for how that was gon na go so nervous, but we were figuring out we're figuring out how we're gon na work together. You were teaching me how to edit. Oh, oh yep, that's what was trying to happen. The whole time yeah, you know, welcome to my life and why working from home doesn't actually work like it's so caught up with the little friends you know is made of chaos and it's the best thing ever. Chaos and curiosity - oh man, okay, i mean i feel like that. One has to go above a 10 just for like the mems, oh yeah, i feel like the hairstyles like they're fine. I feel like my uh, my christmas decorations, really just send it over the edge. They look so beautiful. I really miss christmas right now. I say 15 out of 10.. I love it. You can score differently. This was just like my first one working with you, so it held a special place, i'm going to say 11 out of 10, because i was working with you and because you did such a good job directing. Like i got the tree and the ornaments that i wanted in general and then we both went to target and laura filled up two carts, and we decorated for this video. It looks so cute though it does it does some of it went back and some of it i kept for um my own christmas. Oh, this is so cute, so good this is um. Ashley is our editor for the first time and honestly so good? Yes, so cute, you love that acrylic clips cute, so we're showing long, hair and short hair version. Gotcha! Oh like a little twist and scrunch. Oh it's so cute! Oh! I look so cute. I like this. Okay, that length is so good for clips, though i love that oh look at that, you were like panning, the camera. Oh my gosh that bow you tied that i can't tie bows very well. I was like that looks perfect. Every time somebody sees me tying, both they're, like you, tie bows in the weirdest way. I do the rabbit bow, i run around the rabbit bow and i pull the other ear through the rabbit hole, and i just i don't. This is very sensitive. I acknowledge literally i'm tying the ball camera. Oh my turkey, oh okay, camera work. Look at you! She'S! Fully panicked, oh dances, we've increased. This was the longest video look it's 13. last one before that was six. This is getting that watch time up. Yes, we're showing fixing the the things you find wrong in the hair. That is, that was a new to 2019 feature. Definitely love it: no more just magically going off camera and changing the whole hairstyle pippin's doing great y'all. I miss pepin coming to work. Pippin prefers to stay home. He doesn't like to go in the car and come to work he's the homebody. He loves auntie anna and on days that we're not gon na film. I do still bring him, but he likes to bark in the middle of takes, and i just can't deal with it. He'S still doing great, though look at you with the little pigtails, they kind of look like puppy ears, but it's pretty cute puppy is in the best possible way. Oh that was so hot. Do you remember like oh yeah? That'S why my face works like that. That was our second year working for three. We didn't plan it practiced, dry, wow, amazing, amazing, truly sisters, oh wow! We got to go, get the blood flow back in. Oh those are good bloopers. Oh bloopers were some of the best things that we've added to my content. I think for sure phenomenal wow, i loved that one. Oh, so the hairstyles were good. I think i liked the production a lot. I liked having the long and short hair. That'S definitely been like a dream for the channel yeah, it's cool, that we got that. That was really fun. I'M just going to give that one a straight 10 out of 10., i think yeah solid, 10 out of 10., we did great, would recommend solid work. Good backdrop: good hairstyles, yes, yes did all the work did all the things christmas tree was strong. Christmas shirt was through the roof. We were very excited about christmas yeah. It was this last month has been just a lot of work. It'S been a whirlwind behind the scenes. We have to work a lot to try to get time off for christmas, yeah and then like on top of it. We had a lot of brands. We were working with because which hashtag blessed very thankful for them, so thankful, but also like 2020, like the middle of the year, nobody was doing sponsorships because everybody was like what's happening with the world. Yes, so then everybody came through for the end of the year and i was like well, i need to pay employees. So basically we just worked super hard for the past month, but it's been good, it's been great, it's been so fun. I love doing these videos every year. It feels like coming back into the same room and like checking on everybody again and being like hey guys, still here, still having fun like it's something that kind of like ties us together through the years. It is so cool that you have so many people who have literally seen all of them. I was so shocked bonkers yeah last year. I remember posting on your instagram about, like let me know if you've seen all of them and i was astounded at how many people have been around for literally now, like that's nine years yeah of doing this, and that really is such a cool little family, woven Through no, we love it invisible swing man after imbibing, just so much taylor. Swift, i think i'm only speaking in quotes now well merry christmas. Merry christmas happy holidays. I hope you guys are having a wonderful end of the year. You know if nothing else. 2021 is very soon it is, and i'm very excited for that. It'S gon na be a great year. It'S gon na be a great one.
