How To: Revive Old, Matted, Tangled Human Hair Wig To Brand New! | Silicon Mix Wig Transformation

Hey fam welcome back to my channel. I hope you guys are all doing awesome so in today's video i'm going to be showing you guys how to revive your old wig to brand new. I know i'm super late, so the wig i'm gon na be reviving today. Is my rpg show bu bob wig. I have a review on this unit guys this unit has been through so much. If you know me, then you know that this is my everyday wig. Okay, i've had this wig for over a year, and when i tell you, i have worn this unit to the point that people actually think this is my hair. I was so close to purchasing another wig, another unit um, but i just decided to try the silicone mix. I was just experimenting so the first thing you want to do is to use a moisturizing shampoo. You know shampoos dry, your hair out, so you don't want to dry the units out even more because i'm sure it's already dried and tangled and all that so get yourself. A good moisturizing shampoo apply it in a bowl of lukewarm water or like warm water, rather because you definitely want the glue to melt and then you're gon na set a soak. Your wig into the bowl i like to hold my wig uh at the parting. Just so that you know the closure doesn't get messed up and it still has like some structure to it, and it's not super tangled. If that makes sense, i so you're just going to add the right amount of shampoo that you feel your wig needs and then you're gon na do some dipping meth dipping motion and let it soak for about five to ten minutes just so that the glue can Be loosened so after that that you're then going to shampoo the um lace. Now i typically would not have this much glue. I know it's gross, i'm so sorry, but i had to show you guys. I typically wouldn't have this amount of glue on my lace, because what i do is once i take off my unit, i take a washcloth and i um saturate it with some um warm water, and then i press on the lace so that kind of loosens up The glue, so you know it's like it's it's clean to wear the next day if that makes sense, but i knew i was gon na wash this unit anyways. Hence why i have the glue, as you can see, i'm basically just rubbing on the lace. I know it looks like i'm being extra aggressive with it, but trust me, i'm being so gentle uh this this video is actually sped up. So please be very gentle. Don'T like scrub on your lace like you're, washing uh like some fabric, or something like that. Just gently rub on the lace to make sure that you loosen up the glue, if you need to add some more shampoo, please by all means do that i shampooed once. But if you want to shampoo twice, that's totally fine, it's up to you and then i went ahead to rinse it off with some warm water again and for the silicone mix. I'M gon na be adding some very hot water into a bowl. Some people use a pot to do this, like they actually boil the wig, but this method works for me, and this is the star of the show. This is the silicone mix. It'S a hair treatment. I got this from nigeria, but i'm pretty sure you can find it here at the hair store in the us, so i'm gon na be using, i think, about four tablespoons and the reason i'm using four is because i'm going to be soaking two wigs in this Mixture, hence why there's a lot of water, so you can get away with using just two tablespoons. I feel, like that's gon na, be perfect and you're gon na mix it up until it's cloudy. Now, it's okay! If you have some little chunks and lumps in there it's fine, you just need the mixture to be cloudy. You don't need all the mixture to be uh dissolved in, and i'm gon na apply the unit in, like a dipping motion, just to make sure that the whole hair is fully so. The whole wig is fully saturated or submerged in this uh solution, and next i'm gon na add the other wig that i was telling you guys about. So this is why i needed a lot of conditioner and also a lot of water just so that i can do both of them if you're just washing one wig, then please by all means use like half the amount and i'm gon na. Let this sit for about 20 minutes, even though the the um, the silicone mix cup says you should leave it for like two minutes to five minutes, but i always do uh 20 minutes to 30 minutes and it works fine. It doesn't damage the hair. It'S like deep conditioning your hair guys like, even if you leave it for a whole hour or for four hours. The benefits are even way better. You know so yeah this after 20 minutes or 25 minutes they're about i'm gon na go ahead and rinse this with some lukewarm water. Now you can totally skip the next step, which is using a conditioner like once you rinse off the hair treatment. You you're good to go, but because of the hair type, this is a yaki texture. So, of course it's like more coarse and i couldn't detangle the hair with the silicone mix. So i added some conditioner just so that i could fully detangle the unit after fully detangling this unit. I went ahead to just rinse it off with some lukewarm water as well, and guys this hair was so soft. At this point, like this, silicone mix definitely restores the shine and the lost sense of this to like wigs, and it also makes it extra soft. Like i totally forgot that i had the silicone mix, i would have gone ahead to purchase another wig. So before you throw your wigs away, make sure that you try the silicone mix method, it really does work i've. This is like my fourth time of doing it um and i'm just going to go ahead and straighten the unit off camera. I did let it air dry, i always air dry, my units, i don't use a blow dryer, but i feel like if you want to use a blue dryer, it's fine. I just i just like the air drying method. So, as you guys can see, this hair is extra bouncy. It'S extra shiny, like this silicone mix, definitely restored the volume to this unit and also like it gave a lot of body like i remember this unit was so stiff, like it was becoming.
